Now as defined be the Mayo clinic : Fibromyalgia is a disorder characterized by widespread musculoskeletal pain accompanied by fatigue, sleep, memory and mood issues. Researchers believe that fibromyalgia amplifies painful sensations by affecting the way your brain processes pain signals. Often Fibro is caused by certain stressors such as psychological stress/issues, trauma/accidents are likely to be behind a diagnosis of fibro. Well lets see, from 1987-1999 I had been in 5 auto accidents the first of which my son was killed. Another one was head on, one we hydroplaned and rolled 3 times, hows this for trauma?

Living with Fibro is a daily struggle, pain every day, muscle spasms, headaches, irritable bladder, IBS, RLS you name it Insomnia the list of symptoms goes on and on and it is disheartening because while all symptoms are painful, limit your ability to function normal on a day to day basis, you have extreme fatigue, many nights even with your medication to help you sleep you still have insomnia, your legs ache its a never ending viscous cycle. It's upsetting as well because its an invisible disease nobody can see all the pain your in or the struggles that you go through. They just see somebody that needs to take a lot of naps, complains about pain all the time etc. Here is something that pretty much says it all, I have to give the credit to Cherie Evans who I met in a fibro support group on facebook:

by Brenda Northway

I’d like to share with everyone how I personally have been touched by World Prayr as well as how I am always learning.
I joined the World Prayr team back in early 2009, and began moderating and tweeting Bible verses/prayers/songs and reaching out to pray for and encourage those in need of someone to listen and offer support.
I loved doing that. There were a large number of us “prayer warriors”, so at times when the situation called for it we would post a tweet something like, “Prayer warriors needed.. Brenda has been in a car accident. Prayer needed” then other team members would see this and start re-tweeting it as well as praying.
There were some that reached out to me as I was new. They offered prayer support and for one reason or another some of us exchanged phone numbers in case we needed schedule changes. Well fast forward to Oct 09 my niece had a baby boy and it turned out he was born with a congenital heart defect and needed open heart surgery and taken by plane to a bigger hospital.
Having lost a son myself at 7 months of age my PTSD kicked in to high gear and I immediately posted a tweet, “Prayer warriors needed my baby nephew is in trouble!” The tweets immediately started going out asking for prayer. What touched me the most was the phone call I got from one of the prayer warriors.
Through all my tears I explained what was wrong and she said “call me anytime” over the next several weeks I kept updates as best I could. They were not happy updates as my great nephew was in the fight of his life. Sadly at 6 weeks old Jacob lost his fight and went to join Jesus.
One of the prayer warriors called me and asked to pray with me for Jacob. She prayed.. Lord did she pray.. asking that I find peace and understanding.
Later in 2010, I got a call that again set my PTSD into a mad rage. My cousin’s wife had been in a car wreck and all 3 of their little girls were killed in the accident.
I asked, “Lord, I know you don’t give me more than I can handle but I’m beginning to wonder just how much more I can take?”
Well then, I had another wonderful prayer warrior tell me about a verse in Ephesians. The verse was Ephesians 2:10 (NIV) For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
As we talked about the verse she explained that at this moment I was in shock and that basically the events of my past though painful, were to help me get my niece and cousin through the loss of their children and to help others.
Ephesians 2:10 is now my “Lifeverse”.

3 yrs and 1 day ago my beautiful niece Casandra Diane gave birth to a beautiful baby boy named Jacob Daniel Delozier. When he was barely a day old I happened to be in town grabbing some supper and my sister came running to me that something had went wrong and Jacob had to be life flighted to a hospital better prepared to take care of babies that tiny and that Jacobs mommy was right behind him in a car on the way there. At first I was a bit taken back n had flashes back as I had lost my infant son in 1987 due to a car accident. So while the situations were different, I could seance the fear my young niece was going through. At the same time my niece had 2 other small children a little girl and boy that were with my mother and we were trying to figure out who was going to help my mom car for them.

I simply went home got my clothes together and told my husband he knew where I was and right now those 2 little ones needed someone to help grandma take care of them while Jacob was was in the hospital.

Not for a minute at that time did I think Jacob wouldn't be returning home at that point.

Later we learned that Jacob had been born with an undetected CHD congenital heart defect. In Jacobs case it was TGA transportation of the greator arteries. Basically it meant the little guys arteries in his tiny heart were completely reversed and they would need to keep him stably till he reached 7 days then the specialist would go in with Gods guidance and make every attempt to repair Jacobs tiny precious little heart. Well, the 7 days came and the surgery was performed and after a few days or so Jacobs mommy thought things had calmed down somewhat enough that she could at-least make the 2 hour trip home and see her 2 older children Malachi and Micah so she could give them some reassurance that there little brother was ok, he just had to be in the hospital longer to get stronger. Needless to say, that's not how it went she got a call to rush back to Jacob as he was in trouble n needing his mommy.

Complications had came up. This time my niece told me aunt Brenda, I hope you can help out with the kids because I really need all the help I can get right now. I assured Cassandra she could stay right at her sons side as long as need be and I would make little videos of the kids playing on the computer and send to her on Facebook so she could keep in touch with them and still be at her newborn sons side. I thought back to 1987 and while the situation was different, My little son was over 2 hours away with his dad after we were in a car wreck while myself and my daughter were in another hospital. It was through a phone call that I was told my son did not survive. To not be able to hold and love and comfort your child. I don't wish that on any parent.

We spoke back n forth on the phone as well as on facebook and there were just times I could get a sence of how good or how bad things were by how the facebook chat would go. Sometimes she would pop on quickly to ask how the kiddos were doing and I would give her an update. I had a web cam so they loved watching themselves on camera n make movies for mommy. But then after a couple of episodes of baby Jacob flatlining for several minutes up to hours on end, we all knew things weren't looking great for the little guy. Though fight as he was he was just so tiny and is little body had been through so much.

I will never forget my husband had came into my mothers to visit one evening just a couple of days before Jacob finally past and I fought boy did I fight to stay hopeful right up to the very end, My husband and I were sitting together on the couch and I was on the computer and my niece popped up on chat and I said "hey baby girl please tell aunt Brenda some good news?" Immediately she went off line, it was at that point I knew in my gut she was losing her precious little boy and at the time there was nothing I could say or do.But it was time I start praying for God to please help me find peace and understanding as this was the only way I was going to stay strong for my niece her 2 other children and the rest of the family; I couldn't bear even the possible chance that Jesus would take another baby from us. I said good-bye to my now Angel Son Shane on July1, 1987 at the tender age of 7 months. How could it be (it couldn't be, that God would call home yet another one of our little babies!)

It was during that time that some of my sisters and brothers that I look to heavily for religious guidance that they turned me to

Ephesians 2:10 NIV

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

And to this day that has became my lifeverse and I live by it. God prepared me to help those who are in these situations.

Well I know this was pretty deep but I hope it touched some of you. May God Bless You.

And I remember one night in particular when she had made breakfast after a long, hard day at work. On that evening so long ago, my mom placed a plate of eggs, sausage, and extremely burned biscuits in front of my dad. I remember waiting to see if anyone noticed! Yet all my dad did was reach for his Biscuit, smile at my mom and ask me how my day was at school. I don't remember what I told him that night, but I do remember hearing my mom apologize to my dad for burning the biscuits. And I'll never forget what he said: "Honey, I love burned biscuits." Later that night, I went to kiss Daddy good night and I asked him if he really liked his biscuits burned. He wrapped me in his arms and said, "Your momma put in a long hard day at work today and she's real tired. And besides... a burnt biscuit never hurt anyone!" You know, life is full of imperfect things... and imperfect people. I'm not the best at hardly anything, and I forget birthdays and anniversaries just like everyone else. What I've learned over the years is that learning to accept each others faults and choosing to celebrate each others differences, is one of the most important keys to creating a healthy, growing, and lasting relationship. So...please pass me a biscuit. And yes, the burned one will do just fine! And please pass this along to someone who has enriched your life... I just did! Life is too short to wake up with regrets... Love the people who treat you right and forget about the ones who don't.

Little Things

When my sweet friend Brenda asked me to do a blog article for her, I was honored. She is such a sweetheart with a huge desire to make a difference for cancer survivors.

I’ve never had cancer, but have loved and now miss several that have. The one thing you come to treasure is the little things with them. Those little things are suddenly hurled into the lime light as you reflect on love lost when cancer has finally taken its toll on them.

The time spent together, the priceless moments of laughter, the belly laughs from someone, somewhere doing something completely unexpected and silly. The little, priceless things such as the whispers, I love you and the kisses on the cheek or forehead are now treasures that the heart will never forget.

Treasures of the heart….have you ever thought about treasuring the little things now. Don’t wait until you find out someone has cancer to treasure them. Give the extra kiss on the cheek for no reason. Give the extra smile or phone call just because. Stop by the store and spend your lunch money on a $10.00 bouquet of roses for someone special, even though it is NOT their birthday. Make those precious memories on purpose.

Those many of us rely on the memories to carry us through as we miss loved ones that are no longer with us. Those memories are no longer little things. They are huge, priceless and can never be replaced. Others rely on pictures to help keep their memories alive, displaying them with pride and honor.

Work on making memories today. Don’t put it off. Stomp through the puddles with someone, laugh till you cry and don’t care if your makeup runs. (or who is watching) Spend time sitting quietly, while your heart speaks volumes with someone that you love. Display the pictures now and lots of them. Bring out the good china for lunch one Sunday. Eat dessert first one Friday evening.

Enjoy the precious moments and the little gifts that make your heart soar.

Don’t wait.

What memories are you making?

What little things are you enjoying with someone you adore?

What will make your heart soar today?

A Poem I Love

My Dear Friend and Brother in Christ sent me this in an email. The words are not mine in any way. But I enjoyed it so very much I felt it was worth sharing with others. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did..the Author is unknown... Enjoy and be blessed.

LEND ME YOUR HOPE

Romans 15:13

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit

Lend me your hope for awhile, I seem to have mislaid mine.

Lost and hopeless feelings accompany me daily, pain and confusion are my companions.

I know not where to turn; looking ahead to future times does not bring forth images of renewed hope.

I see troubled times, pain-filled days, and more tragedy.

Lend me your hope for awhile, I seem to have mislaid mine.

Hold my hand and hug me; listen to all my ramblings, recovery seems so far distant.

The road to healing seems like a long and lonely one.

Lend me your hope for awhile, I seem to have mislaid mine.

Stand by me, offer me your presence, your heart and your love.

Acknowledge my pain, it is so real and ever present.

I am overwhelmed with sad and conflicting thoughts.

Lend me your hope for awhile; a time will come when I will heal, and I will share my renewal, hope, and love with others (adapted from the poem "Lend Me Your Hope," author unknown).

The apostle Paul gives us the biblical basis for our comfort and hope: "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort; who comforts us in all our affliction so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For just as the sufferings of Christ are ours in abundance, so also our comfort is abundant through Christ" (2 Corinthians 1:3-5).

Prayer: I praise You for hope, Lord. Help me be a source of hope in all my relationships and circumstances today.

My life has been a wild ride it would take me days to explain it all but to sum it up I was raised going to church every Sunday, doing the Easter services getting up for Sunrise service which meant 5:30 am. doing the Christmas Eve candle light service where all the children performed a play about the birth of Jesus and we would then again get up on Christmas Day to go to church as well. Now as I grew older and got married and began to have children for whatever reason I attended church less and less. In November of 86 I had my firstborn, a son Shane and as with all moms, I could not have been more full of love and joy, then in June 87 tragedy struck I was in a car accident and suddenly I no longer had a son. Now, after what seemed a lifetime of mourning and heartache I then became angry at God. I thought if God were everything I had been taught and people said then how could he strip a mother from her child. I am not proud of it but I began to withdraw for church. My thinking was if there really were a God, he would have been there, he would have saved my child. In the upcoming years I rebelled like crazy.

As time went on occasionally I would go to church, still reluctant to give in and give myself wold heartily to Our Lord and Savior. As I have blogged before in 2009 my niece gave birth to her son Jacob and we lost him from an undetected heart defect at just 6wks n 5 days old. All the heartache from losing my son those emotions were all back as if the day I lost my son, however this time I found myself realizing I needed to remain strong because I had a niece who was going through what I had so many years ago and who better than I to support her and help her through this time.

Now as all of this was going on I had turned to many friends and prayer warriors and I remember not one but 2 from twitter my dear friends @spreadingJoy and @mcprodigal who both quoted Ephesians2:10 to me reminding me that who better than I to be there for my niece and support her. It was then that I let go of my anger towards God and I realized that though at times we don't understand why God does what he does and many times we never will but I grabbed hold of what I did understand and that was Ephesians 2:10 and not only my situation with my son, but other situations as well, I take those and turn them into positive things. Nothing gives me more joy than to be able to help others. There were also my family of prayer warriors @worldprayr that lifted me in prayer during my time of hurting when Jacob passed. They to reminded me that God was comforting me and loving me and it was ok to be angry and hurt, he understood, and was always there for me. The one constant in my life was my Lord and Savior. A friend recently told me "God does not comfort us to be comfortable, but so that WE can be comforters. Wow, how true is that. God is amazing.

Well, so that is how I found my way back to the King of Kings and I am so blessed to be loved by him and the feeling of his unfailing love is amazing.

Thanks for reading this and if I can help you by praying for you or if you need a friend to talk to, I am here. God Bless.

Bickering in the Lords House

I am not even sure where to begin with this, so I am just going to let the words fly as they may. Last night I went to church, now I must say this is not a church I go to on a regular basis but I went because a very nice lady called me Saturday and asked if I would attend and I graciously accepted.

Now, the church service was great with the exception of a few teens that their parents couldn't seen to manage up running around giggling etc. All I could think was this is the Lords house should we not be more respectful? Outside of the chapel area there is a room for small children with toys books and games to entertain them and a part of me wanted to tell these teens they could go to the play room if they couldn't sit still and be quiet so I could enjoy the service, yet, I felt that was the responsibility of the parents. (Keep in mind one of these parents is taking classes to become a licensed pastor and was alowing her 15 yr old to behave this way in the Lords house.

After service which dispite the behavior of the teens was a lovely service and we sand some beautiful worship songs and at the end of service the pulpit was opened to anyone needing prayer for healing, may it be pain, spiritual etc and many including I went up for prayer. It was a beautiful feeling.

After the sermon this church without fail serves a meal so anyone who wants to eat and share their thoughts and Praise God are able to do so. It is a blessed joining of a great range of people. This night was a special night as the church was blessed with a large donation of food so the church was handing out food baskets to those who needed them, all you had to do was ask and in addition there were easter baskets for the children. What a wonderful blessed event.

As everyone stood in line and baskets were being carried out, keep in mind we are still in the Lords house, people began getting snappy one person helping carry the boxes out for others rather than politely asking "can you please make a path so we can get through to get out" rather says rudely "get out of the way come one geez I'm trying to do something!" so then another person in line says something i won't repeat and it went on. Finally myself and another lady reminded people that were saying the things they were that we were in the Lords house, that "HE" would not be happy with this behavior, that we wee hee to worship God and to please him and giving food to those in nood was pleasing him but people cursing and making threats to one another was not pleasing to God nor was it appropriate and could the please stop.
One person asked me who I thought I was? I replied "I am Gods Child and I am speaking what I know he would be saying if he were here!" he bickering and name calling stopped.

I just feel when you walk into Gods House any feelings or indifferences you have with another person stays outside those doors. You show respect in Gods house at all times.

So many thoughts...

Its been awhile since I have blogged atleast here, I have done blogging on my website http://www.hope4acure09.com/ I found myself driven to a path of raising awareness as well as donations to help cancer victims and their families as well as CHD patients and their families primarily, yet keeping my heart and mind open that at times there will be others who may need lifting up from time to time and I am more than willing to help them as well. God has prepared me well as said in Ephesians 2:10 "For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."
Now, I read that over and over. That verse was first told to me by a couple of Dear friends whom I encourage you to let touch your heart, Marie @spreadingJoy and Richard @mcprodigal on twitter they or on facebook Richard is here>Richard on FB and Marie is here>Marie on FB, I met them online during a dark dark time, my world was crumbling around me and they reminded me of that verse. I promise you God has prepared me more than I possible imagined. So, I started my website and decided that by helping others it would help me and because of my past, there are so many things I can associate with in helping others that while helping others, at the same time, I am healing my heartache as well, but first n foremost helping others helps me! If I can make 1 person smile or feel better by doing something for them, then I feel as if I have done just as it is said in Ephesians 2:10. I will, update this blog again soon, thanks for visiting. God Bless and stay well. If I can help you please be sure to message me.
BUT- as often I do I am know to multitask a lot. To do everything I need to do I have to, there are many times I will be working online, listening to music or a show.

For some reason there was a part of the show that called to me to listen. The show was about a young girl who was murdered and a man pledged to the parents he would find who did it. The part that called to me was the man had went to visit the grieving mom and they were talking about the little girl. The mother of the little girl began to talk to the man, what drew me to stop what I was doing is the following

I stopped as I heard the grieving mom describe to this detective how she visioned her daughters death, not so much her death but how she went to Heaven. This was the mothers description and I was touched by its beauty and I felt moved to share it with others.

The mom said this: "When my little girl died, an Angel came down from Heaven and spread its beautiful wide wings and swept her up holding her close. Then the Angel while holding my daughter flew over the plains and fields where my daughter played. Then after they were done the Angel flew her daughter to Heaven and my little girl handed Jesus a bouquet of flowers she had gathered while the Angel flew her over the fields. And the Jesus took her into his loving arms."

Now, I don't know about you, but I am an angel mommy and I was touched by that image. I closed my eyes and invisioned that and it was a beautiful feeling.

So, I hope you as well found this description moving. Maybe it may comfort a mom who has lost a child.
I know many people have had a lot of questions about WIN7.

Window7, should I upgrade to it, will it help my computer? Will it take up to much space and slow down my computer? Is it hard to install. Will it slow down my computer?

Well, let me tell you my experience, I previously had windows Vista, and was beginning to have all sorts of problems with it. Therefore I the full version of Win7 Ultimate.

Now, you do need to save anything that you have on your PC BEFORE you install the WIN7, because, when you do a full install it will wipe everything from your computer. So be sure that you back-up and pics, important files etc that you don't want to lose. Also, if you have Norton, other virus programs, any program that you will need to re-install that requires a KEY CODE, MAKE SURE you have your key codes.

That in mind INSTALLING WIN7 is very easy, does not take that long, has o
Other than that Win 7 was VERY EASY to install, my computer runs faster, it
quickly found my drivers etc that I needed and I was connected and back on the net guickly.

So, I believe if you give WIN7 a try you will find that you are just as pleased with it as I am.
So give it a try.

Did you know the practice of these things are detestable in the sight of our Lord? Reading your birth sign i.e. Scorpio, gemini, leo. Etc. Is a form of astrology. Which in essence is divination. Astrology is the study that assumes and attempts to interpret the influence of the heavenly bodies on human affairs". All this is a form of witchcraft and sorcery. It is very bad to even practice or to even read this stuff its like your saying I'm a christian but when you read that stuff and even worse believe it your saying God doesn't have the answers for your life.

In Acts 16 we read of a woman who had a spirit of divination. And she kept following after paul she kept saying that "these men are bond servants of the Most High God who are proclaiming to you the way of salvation. She kept on and paul became annoyed he turned and commanded the spirit out of her and it came out that very moment".

It isn't good to be relying on horoscopes or astrology to determine your day or week not even for fun you are flirting with the devil and evil spirits that you are not going to want messing with you. Even if you think its harmless it isn't.

In Galations 5 we read that people who do these things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

We read in Deuteronomy 18:10-12. There shall not be found among anyone who makes his son or daughter pass through a fire one who uses divination one who practices witchcraft or one who interprets omens or a sorcerer or one who casts a spell or a medium or spiritist or one who calls up the dead for whoever does these things is detestable to the Lord". God is telling us through His word not to even think about these things if we are children of God we don't need to look to the stars for our answers because we can look to the very one who made those stars. If you feel the need to look to horoscopes and astrology fun or not for answers then you don't know the God that I know God will guide you.

So let us come to Him and lean on His understanding not ours or any other person who claims to know your future or tries to predict your future God has a will for your life trust Him to show you.

Proverbs 3:5,6 says trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths.

You see we don't need all the humbo mumbo in this world to tell or show us our future when God has our future already planned and its better than anything we could imagine so trust Him read His word lean on Him and prepare to have the best life in Christ. Amen.

3 Little Angels

While it breaks my heart to type a blog such as this. I do this because talking about stuff like this helps me heal and learn. And I want others to know about these "Three Little Angels" On July 28th in Meredan KS sadly the lives of the beautiful sweet little girls and their mother were in a bad car wreck. Katelyn Danielle Spencer age 8 and her sister Alissa Ruthann Spencer age 5 tragically died at the scene of the crash. Their little sister Madelynn Nicole Spencer age 4 and mom Stephanie were air lifted to 2 seperate hospitals.
Madelynn (Maddy) ppl called her was taken to a childrens hosp in KS, her mom to another hosp in KS.
My cousin (2nd cousin you could say actually Chad, Stephs husband and the father of the "Three Little Angels" is the son of my cousin Howard Spencer) Chad was rushed from work to find is world as he knew it had changed in the blink of an eye. is world as he knew it had changed. Chad went to the hospitals. Now out of respect of my family I am not going to go into a lot, what I will say is circumstances led to Maddy earning her Angel wings the next day. I can say that she lives on in many as her dad through all his pain and heartache let Maddy be a donor.
Here is information to be a donor. To register to become a donor in honor of Madelyn Nicole Spencer please visit http://www.mwtn.org/ or call 888-744-4531

When I saw Chad and Stephanie, I simply hugged them, told them I had been where they are at. And that down the road should they ever want to talk, I am here for them, to listen answer questions help in whatever small way I can. I knew there were no words at that moment that could help them but to know someone had felt the pain they were and are feeling.(that of losing a child suddenly without warning) I reached out to them, they know I am here.

One more thing and that is these three little angels had a huge love for animals. They were involved in 4-H. The family ask that you donate to an humane society in your home town. Below are some other ways you can help this family. You may go online and leave them a message, prayer, words of HOPE/comfort @ http://www.penwellgabeltopeka.com/ (remember your leaving a message for the SPENCER family. Memorial contributions can be made to their 4-H club that is- Valley Falls 4-H club c/o 4-H Foundation. P.O. Box 326, Oskaloosa, KS 66066
OR Jefferson County Humane Society 15295 K-4, Valley Falls, KS 66088 or as I said donate to your local humane society in their honor. And last if you live in KS they are also doing a Spencer Family can collection. You may donate money at the Kendall State Bank in Valley Falls or contact these family members, they will tell you how you can help. J.R.
Before I write the poem I leave you with this, live each moment as if it were your last. Never let a day go by that you don't let your loved ones and those important to you know you love them and that they matter each and every day.

Last I say, thank you to my online family and friends. There are no words to tell you how I appreciate you all! I now leave you with "Three Little Angels"

               "Three Little Angels"
              written by J.R. Conser
If theres a heaven above the clouds,
Then I know where those three little girls are now.
And if heavens as great as ledgends have told,
Then theres unicorns and castles..a little girls dream unfolds.
And if theres angels singing those hymns,
Then I know three little angels who will fit right in.
And if its true that angels walk with us along the way,
Then I know three little angels who'll check up on us everyday.
And if Gods as loving and forgiving as the Bible has said,
Then I know that someday He'll let us see their faces again.
As I write this blog to be honest I don't know where to begin.
Several month ago through twitter I met a family the Potvin family.
on twitter I know them as @LiftupEllie. Ellie is a beautifull talented brave 8 yr old struct by the beast we call cancer. It was just a few months ago I watched a video of Ellie up in her hospital bed playing with friends even playing hide n seek it was a beautiful site. And now Ellie is at home with her family her lungs now overtaken with tumors and a tumor on her hip that ruptured a few days ago. But You see if any of you have experienced Ellie, you know that Ellie is not your average 8 yr old. Ellie is brave, Ellie loves Jesus, Ellie is NOT affraid of Heaven But Ellie is a fighter. Just yesterday she bravely told her mom as I spend hours following both @LiftupEllie as well as her mom @AmyPotvin her mom tweeted that Ellie kissed her arms n said to her mom "don't worry I'm tough! I sit right now as I did most the night with a candle lit to honor Ellie and let her know just how much she is loved. The last time I signed Ellies guestbook on her journal I told her I was NOT going to say goodbye...I was saying untill we meet again. For this place here earth its only our temporary home...HEAVEN now HEAVEN that is our forever home and we will all meet again.Oh and I did ask her for a couple of small favors..to say hellp to my son Shane and my great nephew Jacob n tell them I love em. I know Ellie she will do that for me because thats the person she is. So still lost I just needed to say that stuff about Ellie. By the way Ellie has a twin sister Grace, her mom is Amy, her dad Tim. Say a prayer for all of them and pray for Ellie as she is getting her wings to Fly away to HOME where Jesus waits for her.

Talking the importance of donating to find a cure!

Learn more about me what I'm doing and How HOPE4ACURE/Keeping HOPe ALIVE is growing. This year has been crazy and were only half way through. By now most of you know that I am fighting to KEEP HOPE ALIVE for people fight the beastly monster we call cancer. As we know its not picky as to who it attacks.
What is important is that we realize also is that cancer does NOT just affect the person who is diagnosed but it attacks everyone involved in thier life, other family menbers, friends, caregivers, co-workers, classmates, the list goes on and on.
While I can proudly say my 84 yr old mom and my sister Jenny are both survivors. (Mom twice) praise God, I can also say as a young girl I watched my little cousin Lisa fight ever so bravely w/leukemia and I sat with her just the night before she past painting. When it was time for me to go home, I gave her a kiss and siad I'd be back the next weekend to paint again as that had became mine n her time together. As I stood up (I still see her as plain as day saying this) Lisa said to me "Thanks for being with me today. I don't think I will see you next week, I'm pretty tired." I told her "oh sure you will see me, I'll be here no matter what." That night she drifted off to go to Heaven.
In my older yrs, 20s etc I lost 2 uncles to cancer. 2002 came around n My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer, as she was in treatment 1 month to the day my older sister Jenny was also diagnosed with cancer. And a couple yrs later mom relapsed and was diagnosed this time with lung cancer. I am one of the lucky ones that can say she again beat the monster.
Then 2006, moms closest &favorite brother n my favorite Uncle Clyde was diagnosed with colon cancer. NOW one would think ok really, this family has had enough. Nope as my uncle battled colon cancer his wife my Aunt Jackie was diagnosed with breast cancer. Unfortunately Uncle Clyde lost his battle with colon cancer, however his wife Aunt Jackie was able to beat cancer and she is doing well.
Think the story ends there? NOPE also in 2006 our best friend Scott was reading to his 5 yr old son when he got a severe headache. He finally went to the ER, next thing we knew he was being life flighted away to a larger hospital. A CT had found a large brain tumor. To our sadness he was diagnosed with brain cancer that had metastisized to his lungs. Scott fought till the very end but we lost him about a yr after he was diagnosed.
Now to 2009, our Dear friend Mark, Mark thought he had an abcess tooth, so he kept taking antibiotics. By the time Mark went to the doctor he too had Brain Cancer that had spread to his lungs. He is going through treatment now and while he is weak he will be jjoining us this year as we walk in the Relay For Life.
My granddaughter Gabbie is one of our biggest fundraisers and she to is being impacted by cancer as she has a little girl in her school that has leukemia.
So in closing I am asking you, we walk JUNE 12th in RELAY FOR LIFE to #kickcancer. Could you be so kind to donate even as little as $10 for us to donate to the American Cancer Society.
Together we can beat this disease. Here is the ACS link to donate. I Pray that you will find it in your heart to donate. http://main.acsevents.org/site/TR/RelayForLife/RFLFY10IL?team_id=555407&pg=team&fr_id=22164 I Pray you will find it in your heart to go donate.
Your donatin could save a life.
Thank You and God Bless.

A guest post

Hi, my name is Britta. I was asked to guest post here to tell you all about Asher and our story. Let me introduce you to my grandson:

This is my grandson Asher. Asher was born in November of 2008. This picture was taken in September of 2009. He was a perfect bundle of health till about mid September. After several visits to the pediatrician and three trips to three different ERs he was diagnosed with a brain tumor on October 5th. That day the world stood still for us. He underwent brain surgery on October 9th and fortunately for us the wonderful neurosurgeon at Childrens hospital in Oklahoma City was able to remove the whole tumor but a few days later we found out that the tumor was malignant. Extraskeletal myxoid chondrosarcoma was the final diagnosis. Asher is one of a kind. None of the pediatric oncologists in the US have ever treated that type of tumor in a baby and especially not in the brain.
Our life changed that day. All we cared about was that Asher will be ok, that he will survive and grow up as a normal boy. My daughter spent day and night with Asher in the hospital for a month while he was in PICU and the cancer ward. Honestly i'm not sure how we got thru it. You go thru the motions, you hang on as best as you can. Since they day Asher was diagnosed we had to rely on a lot of friends, family and organizations to help us.
While Asher was in PICU my daughter used rooms in the hospital supplied by the Ronald McDonald foundation. They call them sleeping rooms, a place where you can nap for a couple of hours and also shower and do your laundry.
We got in contact with the OK Brain tumor foundation and also Alley's house, another non profit organization that helps families financially while they are dealing with a child and the treatments.
Ashers oncologist told us that his type of tumor was known not to respond to chemo so that was immediately ruled out. She suggested radiation, a special type of radiation called Proton beam therapy. Only problem: There are only 6 locations in the US, one was in Oklahoma city but they had just opened and had no pediatric anesthesiologist yet. Asher was referred to MPRI in Indiana.
We had to find housing for my daughter and my grandson for 6-7 weeks in Indiana. Again, another non profit organization was there to help. Jills house, built just for the patients of the proton center, but they still charged $30 per night. The OK Brain tumor foundation payed $1000 toward his housing. We had to pay the rest, another $560. Alley's house payed for my daughters rent and utility bills for her apartment while they were out of state.
We are not rich, we are an average middle class working family, we never thought we had to ask anyone to help us, that all changed the day Asher was diagnosed. These non profit organizations have been life savers for us, even though we had to pay a LOT of money out of pocket to get Asher back and forth to treatments, out of state housing, helping my daughter because of her loss of income, if we wouldn't have had the help that we got, it would have been almost impossible for us to get thru this.
Nobody should ever have to sit in a hospital worrying if their child will make it out of there AND have to worry about not being able to pay their bills. Cancer comes without notice, it hit us like a ton of bricks, stopped us in our tracks and brought us down to our knees. We will fight this disease with or without help, but all the help we have received so far sure has made this journey for us a lot easier and gave us some time to completely focus on his care. I used to be too proud to ask for help, you loose your pride when cancer invades your life.
A couple of Dear friends deserve my sub-title "your past will prepare you for you future". Those 2 people are Richard @mcprodigal and Marie @spreadingJoy. I won't go into it in great detail but in short, I lost my son Shane when he was 7 months old in 1987 and last December My Niece lost her son Jacob at 5 wks old. It was a dark dark time for me. During a phone call from this beautiful Southern voice Marie said "sweety your past n all you've been through, will help you now to help you niece get through this." As I grieved and processed everything I thought to myself wait a minute here...there can be so much more to this!

That was kind of my ahha moment. I thought, now look you work with Relay For Life and the American Cancer Society every year for your mom n sister and those fighting cancer and who have lost the battle.

So I began to think I do that once a year, NO Problem BUT what it I were to do something BIGGER? What if I were to put all my energy into something positive rather that say "I wish there was more that could be done." I was sitting right there! ME, I could do MORE! I could get busy and turn my @HOPE4ACURE09 on twitter into somethings that could reach out and help others.
Not just by tweeting and re-tweeting but by turning it into a non-profit organization actually raising money and using that money to HELP others. GIVING BACK!

But then I thought about it and Said to myself "NO, you have people that can help you, ask for advise. They will tell you where to begin" And I was right my wonderful twitter family came through as they always have.
They have been so kind to offer guidence as to who to call, what I need to do, help with forms I have to fill out, and there are a LOT!

The one hurdle I now have to overcome AND I know my Lord and Savior WILL see me through it, Is that to get my non-profit statis sertification (501(3)(c) there is a $400 fee. While I wish I had that to just write a check out and pay so all would be good and I could be on my way, I don't. So, right now, I am doing the paper work getting all my things in order. I will them Pray to God that he helps me with the rest.

That day came and I'll never forget my poor scared niece so far away alone with her tiny son. She kept saying "Aunt Brenda, they said 6-8 hours its been a lot longer, & i lovingly reassured her with such a tiny heart I was sure the doctors were taking their time,i think it reached the 12 hour mark & my niece called Jacob was out of surgery when they got inside there were more complications that they knew of. Jacob was put on a full heart lung bypass machine to allow his tiny body to rest & heal. Now my niece has 2 other children ages 2 & 4. Once the doctors assured her they felt Jacob was fairly stable she decided she would come home a few days to be with her other 2 children for a few days and then return to be with Jacob. My niece came home on i believe a Thursday. (Malachi n Micah her other 2 children were so happy to see mommy though they did not understand why their little brother was not home. Then came the start of our whirlwind..I had went to town to get supper & my sister came running to the car,, the hospital called needed my niece right away, Jacobs little heart had quit! they were working on him and said for mommy to get there ASAP. So she made the fast trip there and the nurses n doctors kept telling him hang in there buddy mommy is coming, The more they said that the more he began to respond. My niece made it there and Jacob came back but he was by no means out of the woods. My niece called me & said "Aunt Brenda, i hate to ask you this but Jacob needs his mommy if were going to get him through this. Can you stay at grandmas (my moms) & help her with Malachi n Micah please so i can be with Jacob. There was no hesitation in my decision as you see this was all a replay for me. i lost my son Shane in June 1987 (he was born Nov 30th 1986., 1986 killed in a car wreck June 30th 1987. So I told her certainly yes, I called my husband and told him to pack my clothes computer and crafts i would be staying at my moms so Cas could be with Jacob as he needed his mom just as she needed to be with him. So all through the month of November I stayed at my moms caring for my little niece n nephew & helping my 84 yr old mom, I took on the roll of 2nd mom getting them to all their appointments as well as my mom to her appt. with her doctors.(She is a 2time cancer survivor) Then Thanksgiving time came and a call from my niece. "Aunt Brenda, Jacob flat lined again. They are working on him now., Again pure fear & heartache came over me ! I did my best playing with the kids so they would not since my tension. This time Jacob was down over 4 hours (NOT a good thing)but again he was back. The doctors warned us Jacob was a sick little guy but that he was putting up one heck of a fight, Things went up and down then came the call on the night of Dec 4th Again it was my brave niece calling and I'll never forget those words "Aunt Brenda, it's time."as I began to break down that beautiful strong niece of mine that I am so proud of said to me "Aunt Brenda, it's OK! Shane is up there waiting for him and I'm OK with that. That night Jacob peacefully went to sleep with his mommy holding him, rocking him and giving him kisses and love from all of us. When his daddy got to the hospital, shortly after that Jacob went to sleep to go be with Jesus. The next poem you see was posted by Casandra a wonderful mom and a woman I am proud to call my niece written for her son Jacob, and now my Son Shane. Thank You all for reading this. Shane and Jacob R.I.P. Until we meet again We love you.
(For Jacob & Shane)
Wish Heaven had a phone so I could hear your voice again. I thought of you today, but that is nothing new. I thought about you yesterday, and days before that too. I think of you in silence, I often speak your name. All I have are memories and a picture in a frame. Your memory is a keepsake, from which I'll never part. God has you in his arms, I have you in my heart! I Love you and miss you so much.
I want to say, to some this blog may seem trivial some may say boring, many will be touched or I hope so, BUT for me... Aunt Brenda, this was the hardest blog I have ever wrote and I pray I never have to again! I never met Jacob during his little life. The first time and only time I ever held him was to lift his tiny precious lifeless body from his casket, gently kiss him on the cheek, tell him I loved him and would meey him again one day. and wrap him up in th afghan that my mom had made for him as she does all her grandchildren. I then layed him back in his tiny casket.

MY HERO-MY MOM

Many on you don't know me, Some of you do, BUT THIS IS MY HERO- MY MOM
I am sending you pics of the beautiful afghans my mom crocheted and these are only 2 of many! Mom is my hero! A little about my mama, her life started out being born in a boxcar in Edwardsville, KS, as a young girl she had problems with her ears and had repeated surgeries, by the time all was said and done at the age of 16 she was totally deaf in one ear and only minimal hearing in the other ear. Later she met my father they then moved to Illinois in 1946 and that has been home every since. In her younger yrs she also contacted rabbit fever which left her very ill, And even more when I was an infant had it NOT been for her- I would NOT be here today to share this story and do this work. Our family had a terrible house fire, my loving sweet mother would not leave any of her 7 children behind. As a result, she suffered 3rd degree burns over most of her body and she survived that! .She is now 84 ,and has beat cancer twice (breast &lung). In my eyes I will never find a better hero! Mom is my world, I pour my heart and soul into making her proud in what I do and helping her with her fund raising to beat cancer. One month after mom was diagnosed, my older sister was diagnosed with breast cancer also. She too is a cancer survivor. PRAISE GOD!
