1. Samsung Galaxy Tab 4G

Right now the Samsung Galaxy Tab is available on Verizon, but a new 4G version with LTE technology should be available soon. If you get one today it will be using the Android 2.2 operating system, but you should be able to get it with Honeycomb later in 2011. It has a 5MP camera on the back, a 1.3 MP camera on the front, and is powered by a 1.2 GHz Hummingbird processor. One of the cool things about the Samsung Galaxy Tab is that it can function as a WiFi hotspot for up to 5 devices.

This is great if you have a WiFi printer or music player and want to conveniently use them over the 4G network. Some users have rated the device as being a bit sluggish when running Flash.

Archos 7 Home Tablet
2. Archos 7 Home Tablet

The Archos 7 Home Tablet has been around since June 2010, and so has been reviewed a bit more than some of the other Android options out there. Compared to the iPad’s 9.7 inch screen, the Archos is small, with only a 7-inch screen, but it’s still a great Android alternative to the iPad. The display is a thin film transistor (TFT) LCD display at a resolution of 800 x 480. The tablet is powered by a 600 MHz, Arm9 Rockchip RK2808 processor. It comes set up with Android 1.5, which is not the latest, but which still looks new compared to the latest iPhone OS.

If you want a faster device, the Archos 5 Tablet runs on an 800 MHZ Texas Instruments OMAP 3430 processor. But it has a smaller screen (5 inch). To some, the Archos 7, with it’s 600 MHz processor may feel sluggish, depending on the applications. Another thing some users might not like about the Archos 7 is that it uses resistive single touch technology, even though most devices use capacitive multi-touch technology these days. But you really can’t beat it for price: around $200. If you go for the smaller Archos 5, it will set you back about $250.

3. Toshiba Folio

Next to the Galaxy Tab, the Toshiba Folio may be one of Apple’s biggest competitors in the tablet market. Like the Android 3.0 Tablet, it has a 10.1 inch screen, though at VGA resolution (1024 x 600). It comes with 16 GB of internal storage and runs Android 2.2, powered by the Nvidia Tegra 2 processor running at 1 GHz. With a multi-touch capacity screen, the Toshiba Folio looks to be one of Toshiba’s higher-end Android alternatives to the iPad. Though official specs haven’t come out yet, the ARM Cortex A9 dual core can run up to 1 GHz per core. One questionable aspect is the battery. The Li-ion 1020 mAH battery claims a 7-hour battery life, but whether it can last that long considering the speeds this tablet runs at, who knows?

4. T-Mobile LG G-Slate 4G

The particulars of T-Mobile’s LG G-Slate 4G are still shrouded in mystery. It was only announced at the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show, but you can pre-order it already, and it’s supposed to be running Honeycomb (which is Google Android 3.0). The tea-leaf readers of the electronics world are all speculating about what it means. It could mean that the mythical Google Slate is closer than ever. Or it could simply mean that tablets are super hot right now and T-Mobile didn’t want to be left out of the party.

5. Dell Streak

It’s tiny, sleek, and powerful. The Dell Streak 5 has been around for awhile now, but 7 inch and 10 inch versions will hit the retailers this year too. The Dell Streak 5 uses a Snapdragon processor, but the newer, larger models will have dual-core Tegra processors. All of the Dell Streak models have Bluetooth, WiFi, Flash 10.1 support, and are fronted by Gorilla Glass.

ASUS Eee-Pad Transformer
6. ASUS Eee-Pad Transformer, ASUS Eee-Pad Slider

Both of these are tablet computers with attachable keyboards, and both come with a 10.1 inch 1280 x 800 touch screen. Both are powered by Nvidia Tegra processors and run the Android 3.0 operating system. While the Transformer model has a docking option that adds a full QWERTY keyboard, the Slider model comes with a sliding keyboard. Both of them come with a 5 MP camera with LED flash, as well as a 1.2 MP camera on the front. These two tablets seem poised to take over for those people who bought an iPad but cannot make the most of it with out a real keyboard. Prices haven’t been formally announced, but expect to pay roughly what an iPad costs.

Motorola Xoom
7. Motorola Xoom

Hmm, could the Motorola Xoom be the proverbial “iPad killer?” Hardware wise, it seems to have the iPad beat, with twice the processing power, cameras on the front and back, plus the ability to make video calls and play Flash video. The Xoom looks like it wins hands down. The only thing the iPad has over it is a larger selection of apps (with Android apps catching up rapidly), and of course, the Apple name cachet. But if the Android fan base rallies around the Xoom, it could be a real challenger for best tablet. Then again, Apple will launch a new version of the iPad sometime in 2011, but it will have its work cut out for it in terms of hardware if it wants to keep up with the Motorola Xoom, which, incidentally, won the CES 2011 “Best Gadget” award. It should hit the stores this spring.

Update! A Leaked best buy advert has shown that the Motorola Xoom will cost $800 and will be released on the 17th February.

8. Toshiba Android 3.0 Tablet

Toshiba is good about offering affordable products. One reason their notebook computers are so popular is because they represent great value for the money. No word yet on what the Android 3.0 is going to cost, but if it’s at the affordable end of the scale, it should be a very popular alternative to the iPad. As for specs, it doesn’t disappoint. With a Tegra 2 processor and a 10.1 inch, 1280 x 800 display, it looks beautiful. Slots for mini-USB, full sized USB, full sized HDMI, and full-sized SD cards are all included. The Toshiba Android 3.0 is expected to be available through Sprint.

Well, now, the Smartbook, like the Motorola Xoom, is going to be using a Tegra 2 dual core processor, and will cost about $500. This 10 inch tablet will weigh about a pound and a half, with screen resolution of 1024 x 600. It has 512 MB of DDR2 memory as well as 512 MB of flash storage, plus slots for micro SD cards and a mini USB port. It has WiFi and Bluetooth 2.1 technology, a 1.3 MP webcam, and capacitive touch screen technology. And for people who care about such things, it’s really cool looking too!

The new Acer tablet doesn’t have a name yet, but it’s expected to come out in April. It’s a 10.1 inch Android tablet with the Nvidia Tegra 2 processor under the hood, and it will support Flash 10.1. It will be outfitted with front and rear cameras, plus HDMI-out port. You will also be able to get a 7 inch version, but it will use a Qualcomm dual core CPU (and will also support Flash). These tablets lean more toward the “consumption” end of the media production-consumption scale, with more focus on media playback and game playing. It could be just the thing for the video junkie or game fanatic.

Samsung Indonesia terlihat membuka stand pameran untuk penjualan ponsel Android pertamanya di Indonesia. Ini sekaligus menjadi pameran dan penjualan pertama ponsel Android di Indonesia.

Samsung Galaxy Spica akhirnya dibuka resmi oleh Samsung, dengan mengadakan pameran di Grand Indonesia, Jakarta pada hari ini, Sabtu, 27 Febuari 2010 di Fountain Atrium. Sanjay Jha, Co Ceo dari Motorola mengungkapkan kerjasama perusahaannya dengan Google pada perbincangan TheStreet. Sanjay mengatakan bahwa Motorola merencanakan meluncurkan 20 Smartphone pada tahun ini termasuk ponsel hasil kerjasama dengan Google. Walaupun tidak diungkapkan bahwa itu Google Phone, tapi langkah ini mirip dengan pendekatan Google dengan HTC.

Toshiba Satellite T100 Notebooks Slim Down with Windows 7

Toshiba's new Satellite T100 series slim down to less than one inch thick, offer 11- and 13-inch displays, HDMI output, and will all ship on October 22 with Windows 7.

Computer and electronics maker Toshiba is looking to get a jump on the Windows 7 launch hoopla with its new Satellite T100 series of lightweight notebook computers. The systems port Intel's ultra low-voltage (ULV) processors to offer up to 9 hours of battery life, offer multitouch trackpads and LED-backlit displays, plus pack themselves into cases less than one inch thick and starting off at barely over 3.5 pounds.

"Toshiba has a long history of engineering laptops in highly compact form factors with value-added elements that enhance the mobile computing experience," said Toshiba America Information Systems VP of product development Carl Pinto, in a statement. "These new ultra-thin laptops reflect the next step in Toshiba laptop innovation, delivering the perfect balance of performance, mobility and style, and broaden our portfolio of ultra-mobile offerings, giving consumers more choice."

Initially Toshiba is rolling out two models in the T100 line: the T115 and the T135. The T115 offers an 11.6-inch LED backlit display, an Intel Pentium SU4100 or Celeron 743 processors, up to 4 GB DDR3 memory, 100Base-T Ethernet, 802.11b/g/n WiFi wireless networking, a combined USB 2.0/eSATA combo port, an HDMI output, five-in-one memory card reader, and a built-in web cam with face recognition capability. The T135 offer similar specs but steps up to a 13.3-inch widescreen display and packs either a Pentium SU4100 or Pentium SU2700 processor; the T135 also supports up to 8 GB of DDR3 RAM, has two USB 2.0 ports in addition to the USB/eSATA combo port, and packs an option for Bluetooth 2.1+EDR wireless networking. Both systems start off with 250 GB hard drives.

The T100 systems will go on sale October 22 with the release of Windows 7; the T115 will start at $449.99, while the T135 will start at $599.95.

Asus New Folding E-Book Reader

Asus has demonstrated a prototype of an e-book reader it is developing. Unlike its competitors, the device resembles a normal book, having two touch screens that will fold up.
E-book readers can store hundreds of digital books, and some of the later devices feature Internet access to download digital newspapers and magazines. The Sony Daily Edition and Amazon Kindle even include a 3G mobile phone Sim card.

The prototype was shown at the CeBIT trade show in March this year, and the device will probably be shown at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January 2010. According to the Sunday Times in the UK, the product, dubbed the Eee Reader after the cheap Asus Eee PC netbooks, may be cheaper than Kindle and Sony e-book readers, with the budget version possibly costing as little as $165 in the UK. The launch is reportedly planned for late 2009, but there are no details yet on when it is likely to be released elsewhere, or how much it is likely to cost outside the UK.

There are many e-book readers on the market these days, such as those by Amazon (the Kindle series) and Sony, and new players Plastic Logic and iRex plan to launch large-screen readers either late in 2009 or early 2010. All these readers are black and white, but the Asus Eee Reader is expected to feature color touch screens for the first time.

While details are still sketchy, it appears the product will be released in two versions: a cheaper budget version, and a more expensive, but still reasonably priced, premium version with more features, such as a webcam, microphone, speaker, and the ability to make calls via Skype. The Eee Reader will have two touch screens joined by a hinged spine, but it is not yet clear whether both budget and premium versions will be dual-screen and full color, or just the premium product.

The new device could use the two screens to simulate a normal book, or the second screen could be used as a web browser or a touch-based keypad to allow it to be used like a netbook or laptop.

With e-book readers enjoying a growing consumer market, the new product may be just what Asus needs to add an inexpensive e-book reader to its cheap computer products.

The Taiwanese company Asus is already a leader in producing inexpensive computers, chips and netbooks, their cheap alternative to laptop computers. Asus products are often the cheapest available, and it seems they intend to adopt the same business plan for their Eee Readers.

Choosing a Low Radiation Cell Phone

(PhysOrg.com) -- An Environmental Working Group (EWG) team has released a consumer guide on the radiation levels emitted by over 1,000 cell phones sold in the U.S. The guide is the most comprehensive ever published, and is available online.
The guide is based on details of emission levels supplied by cell phone manufacturers, and enables consumers to make an informed decision about which phone to buy. The EWG believes a comprehensive guide of this nature was needed because U.S. laws do not require cell phone manufacturers to include radiation information on their printed materials and advertising, making comparisons extremely difficult.

Senior Scientist Olga Naidenko PhD, the leading author of the guide, said that while the research results are not yet conclusive there are concerns about the risk of cancer through exposure to radiation emitted by cell phones, PDAs and Smartphones, especially as recent studies have shown an increase in salivary gland and brain tumors in people using cell phones for 10 or more years. Research is continuing, and much more is needed, but it makes sense to reduce exposure in the meantime.

Cell phone radiation may be more dangerous for children than adults because their skulls are thinner and softer and less able to act as a shield protecting the brain from radiation. Studies have shown their brains absorb double the radiation absorbed by adult brains.

The wireless industry group CTIA disputes the need for the report, saying the scientific evidence indicates that cell phones and other wireless devices are not a public health risk. They also point out that organizations such as the World Health Organization, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and the American Cancer Society have all concluded that cell phones do not pose a risk to public health.

Governments in the UK, France, Germany, Finland, Switzerland and Israel disagree, since they have cautioned against excessive cell phone use, especially by children, and have recommended their use be restricted. In the U.S. cell phone standards are set by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), but these standards are based on outdated (1992) recommendations that allow the levels of radiation entering the head to be 20 times greater than the trunk and limbs.

The EWG has urged the FCC to raise cell phone standards to accommodate the results of recent research, and the increasing numbers of children using the phones. As many as 71% of children aged 12 to 17 own cell phones, with more than 50% of them using their phone every day, according to the Pew Internet and American Life Project of 2008.

Although fuel prices per metric ton have receded more than 47 percent from record high levels, cruise operator Carnival admits that 2009 will be a challenging year, with weaker consumer spending resulting in falling demand and softer cruise pricing, and a stronger U.S. dollar (versus the Euro) hurting European markets. In addition, customers are opting to book trips closer to the actual date departure, looking for bargain pricing on these close-in bookings. Despite limited visibility in forward operating profitability, Carnvial remains committed to expanding berth capacity, according to the company’s 2008 regulatory 10-K filing:

As of January 28, 2009, we had signed agreements with three shipyards providing for the construction of 17 additional cruise ships scheduled to enter service between March 2009 and June 2012. These additions are expected to result in an increase in our passenger capacity of 38,056 lower berths. The net impact of these additions is a 22.5% increase in passenger capacity as compared to our January 28, 2009 passenger capacity [total of 169.040 lower berths on 88 ships].

Management remains optimistic that the long-term growth potential of the cruise industry remains healthy, given relatively modest market penetration in North America, the largest market for alternative vacations to land-based resorts. In 2008, 19.9% of Americans had cruise experience-with 51 million Americans expressing interest in taking a cruise by 2011-according to a Cruise Market Profile Study published by the Cruise Line Industry Association.

Expansion will not come cheap, however, as Carnival has $17.4 billion in cash obligations coming due through 2013, including: shipbuilding costs of $8.3 billion; long-term liabilities and interest payments totaling $8.1 billion and $2.5 billion; and, operating leases, port facilities, and other purchase obligations totaling $1.7 billion. In December 2008, Standard & Poor’s Rating Services assigned a negative outlook to Carnival’s A- credit rating, citing concern that the weakened state of the economy and continued pull back in consumer spending would pressure cash flow. Albeit the current state of the economy will likely lead to lower revenues in 2009, an analysis of the company’s balance sheet suggests a sequential decline in operating results would not materially impact Carnival’s ability to meet its debt obligations. For example, of the $17.4 billion, only $5.2 billion comes due in 2009, and long-term debt has a weighted-average maturity of five years.

In fiscal 2008, Carnival’s net cash from operations declined year-over-year 16.7% to $3.4 billion, reflecting the timing in receipt of customer deposits (as more guests opted for close-in bookings). Free cash flow was a negative $38 million, principally resulting from $2.7 billion spent on the ongoing shipbuilding program.

In light of the current uncertainties in the global economy and a desire to preserve cash and liquidity, the board of directors voted to suspend the quarterly division beginning in March 2009. This move will save about $1.2 billion in cash outflows this year.

At November 30, 2008, although Carnival had a working capital deficit of $4.1 billion, if one excluded customer deposits and debt obligations not maturing in 2009, the adjusted working capital deficit decreased to $950 million. Total debt was a manageable 32.9% of capital and a fixed-charge ratio of 5.8 times indicates the company has more than enough financial muscle to satisfy its existing financing expenses.

Despite the deteriorating global economy in 2008, net cruise revenues increased 12.9% year-on-year to $11.5 billion, driven by both a 6.7 percent increase in available passenger capacity and a 3.7% increase in passenger ticket prices, partially offset by a 1.6% decrease in onboard sales. Cruise occupancy held stable at 105.7 percent.

Carnival cannot cancel existing newbuld contracts without substantial financial penalties. I caution readers, therefore, that contrary to management’s optimism, If the recession persists into 2010, forcing consumers to opt out of cruises altogether, the company will likely need to access the debt markets for shipbuilding financing.

Mobile Uploads untuk HP Nokia kan belum ada applikasi resmi dari Facebook, bah buat kamu-kamu yang pengen upload foto ke Facebook langsung dari HP kamu bisa dengan cara ini:
1. Resgister email baru di google mail (blablabla@gmail.com)
2. Set Google Mail di HP kamu
3. Cari tau email Facebook upload kamu di Setting > Account Setting > Mobile > Go to Facebook Mobile. Temukan email ini contoh: blablabla@m.facebook.com
4. Tulis e-mail baru, tambahkan foto kamu dengan Add Attachment dan kirim email dengan subjek kosong ke alamat email Facebook Upload tersebut.
– Kelemahannya gak bisa tag orang langsung.
