The Pyramid of the Moon

The ancient city of Teotihuacan is located 50 kilometers north-east of the center of Mexico city and is well worth at least one or two days of exploration. There are many restored buildings to explore, as well as artwork and artifacts recovered from the site, as well as the two enormous structures for which the city is best known, the Pyramid of the Moon, shown here, and the even larger Pyramid of the Sun. Unlike the pyramids of Egypt, the pyramids at Teotihuacan aren't build of solid stone, instead they consist of stone and brick rubble covered with layers of cut stone, however they're still an extraordinary achievement, especially since all this was done without the benefit of pack animals, metal tools or the wheel

The Pyramid of the Sun, with an estimated weight of three million tons, is much larger than the Pyramid of the Moon, and was also built earlier. Each side is 222 meters long and it's over 70 meters high, making it the third largest pyramid in the world by volume, after the Great Pyramid of Cheops in Egypt and the unrestored pyramid at the Mexican city of Cholula. Unfortunately because of the building method a lot of reconstruction was needed to get it to its current state, and there's considerable uncertainty about its original appearance

The date December 21st, 2012 A.D. (13.0.0.0.0 in the Long Count), represents an extremely close conjunction of the Winter Solstice Sun with the crossing point of the Galactic Equator (Equator of the Milky Way) and the Ecliptic (path of the Sun), what that ancient Maya recognized as the Sacred Tree. This is an event that has been coming to
resonance very slowly over thousands and thousands of years. It will come to resolution at exactly 11:11 am GMT.

The Tzolkin is a 260-day calendar based around the period of human gestation. It is composed of 20 day-signs, each of which has 13 variations, and was (and still is) used to determine character traits and time harmonics, in a similar way to Western astrology. The Maya also used a 365-day calendar called the Haab, and a Venus calendar, plus others. They measured long time periods by means of a Long Count, in which one 360-day year (a "Tun"), consists of 18 x 20-day "months" ("Uinals"). Twenty of these Tuns is a Katun; 20 Katuns is a Baktun (nearly 400 years); and 13 Baktuns adds up to a "Great Cycle" of 1,872,000 days, ( 5200 Tuns, or about 5125 years).

Mayan scholars have been attempting to correlate the Long Count with our Western Gregorian calendar, since the beginning of this century. There has been massive variation in the suggested correlations, but as early as 1905, Goodman suggested a correlation only 3 days from the most popular one today. Known as the GMT correlation, or "correlation # 584283", this was finalized in 1950, and puts the start of the Great Cycle ( day 0.0.0.0.0) on 11th August 3114 BC, and the end-date (known as 13.0.0.0.0.) as 21st December 2012.

Jose Arguelles has pointed out that the Tzolkin is a harmonic of the Great Cycle, and can be used to map history, as if it is measuring not individual gestation but species gestation, since 5 Great Cycles add to exactly 26,000 Tuns; the "Grand Year" or precession of the equinoxes - a higher harmonic of 260.

NOTE: The astronomer Philip Plait has stated very clearly that the Mayan calendar does not end in 2012 at all, that it is like the odometer on your car, as each section of the odometer reaches 9 and then clicks over to 0, the next number to it starts a new cycle, so that when all the numbers again reach 0 all the way across the odometer - the last number will change from 1 to 2 and the new cycle starts all over again.

Sunspot Cycles; Adrian Gilbert and Maurice Cotterell, in their book the Mayan Prophecies, say that the end of the Great Cycle is the culmination of a series of long-term sunspot cycles which will flip the sun’s magnetic field, causing earthquakes and flooding on earth. Moreover, the changing magnetic field will alter the endocrine production of the pineal gland. John Major Jenkins has pointed out that the detailed graphs of the cycles do not actually show significant termination points at the end of the Great Cycle; click here for Jenkins' full unabridged review of The Mayan Prophecies.

According to John Major Jenkins, it will take 36 years to precess through the Galactic equator. The Galactic Alignment "zone" is
1998 +/- 18 years = 1980 to 2016. This is "era 2012"

[So why are we worried?]

Generally speaking, scientifically accepted records of sunspot activity do seem to be heading for a climax in the near future.

Note: Real science is predicting the next/current sun cycle to be the worst in 50 years. The first two sunspot's of 2006 are moving in reverse direction.

August 15, 2006: On July 31st, a tiny sunspot was born. It popped up from the sun's interior, floated around a bit, and vanished again in a few hours. On the sun this sort of thing happens all the time and, ordinarily, it wouldn't be worth mentioning. But this sunspot was special: It was backward.

"We've been waiting for this," says David Hathaway, a solar physicist at the Marshall Space Flight in Huntsville, Alabama. "A backward sunspot is a sign that the next solar cycle is beginning."

Sunspots are planet-sized magnets created by the sun's inner magnetic dynamo. Like all magnets in the Universe, sunspots have north (N) and south (S) magnetic poles. The sunspot of July 31st popped up at solar longitude 65^o W, latitude 13^o S. Sunspots in that area are normally oriented N-S. The newcomer, however, was S-N, opposite the norm.

This tiny spot of backwardness matters because of what it might foretell: A really big solar cycle.

Solar activity rises and falls in 11-year cycles, swinging back and forth between times of quiet and storminess. Right now the sun is quiet. "We're near the end of Solar Cycle 23, which peaked way back in 2001," explains Hathaway. The next cycle, Solar Cycle 24, should begin "any time now," returning the sun to a stormy state.

Satellite operators and NASA mission planners are bracing for this next solar cycle because it is expected to be exceptionally stormy, perhaps the stormiest in decades. Sunspots and solar flares will return in abundance, producing bright auroras on Earth and dangerous proton storms in space: full story.

But when will Solar Cycle 24 begin?

"Maybe it already did--on July 31st," says Hathaway. The first spot of a new solar cycle is always backwards. Solar physicists have long known that sunspot magnetic fields reverse polarity from cycle to cycle. N-S becomes S-N and vice versa. "The backward sunspot may be the first sunspot of Cycle 24."

It sounds exciting, but Hathaway is cautious on several fronts:

First, the sunspot lasted only three hours. Typically, sunspots last days, weeks or even months. Three hours is fleeting in the extreme. "It came and went so fast, it was not given an official sunspot number," says Hathaway. The astronomers who number sunspots didn't think it worthy!

Second, the latitude of the spot is suspicious. New-cycle sunspots almost always pop up at mid-latitudes, around 30^o N or 30^o S. The backward sunspot popped up at 13^o S. "That's strange."

These odd-isms stop Hathaway short of declaring the onset of a new solar cycle. "But it looks promising," he says.

Even if Cycle 24 has truly begun, "don't expect any great storms right away." Solar cycles last 11 years and take time to build up to fever pitch. For a while, perhaps one or two years, Cycle 23 and Cycle 24 will actually share the sun, making it a hodgepodge of backward and forward spots. Eventually, Cycle 24 will take over completely; then the fireworks will really begin.

Meanwhile, Hathaway plans to keep an eye out for more backward sunspots.

We're not from Milky Way

Astronomical updates of 2012 are pouring in. We are grateful for the Mayan Calendar for pointing the way. It is a good map but now, thru science, we are starting to see the actual landscape.

Have you ever looked out into the night sky and seen the Milky Way Galaxy? Did you notice the obvious tilt? It is at a steep angle to the straight line of the horizon. Why?

It turns out that our solar system appears to belong to another galaxy that is colliding with the Milky Way. This was recently discovered when scientists were trying to figure sources for "dark matter" that would account for forces we can measure but not see visibly. Using near-infrared (wavelengths of light outside human eye and optical telescopes) a huge sister galaxy circling the Milky Way was discovered. It's called the Sagittarius dwarf galaxy (SGR for short).

For those keen on the 2012 data, this is the reason our entry point to the Rift, center, heart (HunabKu) of the Milky Way is thru Sagittarius. The two collide at that point. This explains why our solar system is at an angle to the plane of the galaxy and also why we dip above and below that center line every 12,000 yrs or so.

But the trail gets hotter - literally. Moon shots from the 1960s revealed glass on the moon. Glass is made from intense bursts of heat on sand. The event happened within the last 30,000yrs ago. Ancient petrogrpahs of primirtive people (archeological carvings) from that era (12,000+y.a.) show the sun causing extreme energy bursts changing earth atmosphere.

Next clue - the current 11 year Sun Spot Cycle has passed the minimum (sun spot activity should have begun over a year ago and has not for the first time ever). This appears to be caused by a gravitation field influencing the sun.

The only field large enough would be from - the center of the galaxy.

What does all this mean? Putting it all together, it implies the 2011-2012 event is a natural cycle of solar maximum bursts which could scorch all or parts of the earth. How is the world preparing?

Russia is building a huge underground city to hold 60,000 people, the YAMANTAU Mt Complex.

Norway has already built enough facility for their entire population to go under ground. Sweden. working with NATO has created an underground seed bank (a modern day Noah's Ark).

And here in the USA?

The Bush family has made one of the largest land purchases in history for their own personal private compound in Paraguay (the only inland nation of South America) and told the rest of us to fend for ourselves. Now that is Grand Old Party Republican Leadership for ya!

The zodiac cross rotates during the precession of the equinoxes against the backdrop of the Galactic Cross with one revolution in 26.000 years (length of a Great Year or Platonic Year). The Galactic Cross rotates with one revolution in 220 million years (time of the revolution of the Solar System around the Galactic Centre). That’s why the Galactic Cross is regarded as a fixated cross during a precession cycle, its rotation can be neglected.

The two crosses (Zodiac Cross and Galactic Cross) form an eight pointed cross and four times during a precession cycle they overlap. The moments of conjunction are called a Great Celestial Conjunction (for details see our paper ‘Crucifying the Earth on the Galactic Cross’ - Smeykavov, Wicherink 2006). It’s the cosmic event that is associated with John Major Jenkins Galactic Alignment. The next one is occurring right now during era-2012 on the winter and summer solstices

The points Z and Z’ in the picture above are the intersections of the ecliptic with the Galactic Plane and these crossings have been associated by Schele with the Maya Sacred Tree, they are the Gemini-Taurus (Z’) nexus and Sagittarius-Scorpio (Z) nexus. As we will demonstrate later in the Maya artefacts these points are often depicted as two separate crosses XX. We add to Schele’s observations that the Maya Sacred Tree is also identical to the red cross in the picture above, the intersection of the Galactic Plane with the Solar System’s plane and it’s perpendicular axis to this intersection. This cross is the cross that occurs in the Fejérváry-Mayer Codex with the Sacred Tree symbols on it

The Galactic Cross and the Maya Sacred Tree therefore are interchangeable concepts!

We have found abundant X, XX and 8 pointed crosses in the Maya artefacts and in all cases they are associated with the Maya Sacred Tree! These examples express the idea of a rotating zodiac cross against the backdrop of a Galactic Cross. The occurrence of these crosses in the Maya artefacts and their association with the Maya Sacred Tree in their astronomical context can be explained by the Earth Cross and the Galactic Cross as proposed in this article.

Earth Cross

One could argue that the Maya couldn’t possibly have understood that the Zodiac’s equinox and solstice axis form a cross and that this cross rotates along the ecliptic during a precession cycle. We have named this cross in our paper ‘Crucifying the Earth on the Galactic Cross’ the Earth Cross.

The crosses under the armpits of the Maize God depicted at the Lower Temple of the Jaguars at Chichen Itza represent the crossing places of the ecliptic and the Milky Way (as we will demonstrate later). But there is one very remarkable detail about this picture. Left and right of the face in the centre we see two crosses, one vertical aligned, and one slanted. They suggest the rotational movement of the four pointed cross (the Zodiac Cross).

The Milky Way Galaxy is the inspiration for the symbol of the Ouroboros. Myth refers to a serpent of light residing in the heavens. The Milky Way is this serpent, and viewed at galactic central point near sagittarius, this serpent eats its own tail.

The Milky Way galaxy keeps a great time cycle that ends in catastrophic change. The sign of the SUNTELIA AION is the sun rising out of the mouth of the ouroboros, which will occur on the solstice December 2012.

The Greeks called the End of the Age the SUNTELIA AION

Ancient historians and especially Plato referred to a cycle of catastrophe at the End of the Age.

The AION was symbolized by the Ouroboros.

We are from another galaxy in the process of joining with the Milky Way. The Milky Way is actually not our parent galaxy. The mystery of why the Milky Way has always been sideways in the night sky has never been answered -- until now.

"This first full-sky map of Sagittarius shows its extensive interaction with the Milky Way," Majewski said. "Both stars and star clusters now in the outer parts of the Milky Way have been 'stolen' from Sagittarius as the gravitational forces of the Milky Way nibbled away at its dwarf companion. This one vivid example shows that the Milky Way grows by eating its smaller neighbors."

The study's map of M giants depicts 2 billion years of Sagittarius stripping by the Milky Way, and suggests that Sagittarius has reached a critical phase in what had been a slow dance of death.

"After slow, continuous gnawing by the Milky Way, Sagittarius has been whittled down to the point that it cannot hold itself together much longer," said 2MASS Science Team member and study co-author Martin Weinberg of the University of Massachusetts. "We are seeing Sagittarius at the very end of its life as an intact system."

Does this mean we are at a unique moment in the life of our galaxy? Yes and no.

"Whenever possible, astronomers appeal to the principle that we are not at a special time or place in the universe," Majewski said. "Because over the 14 billion-year history of the Milky Way it is unlikely that we would just happen to catch a brief event like the death of Sagittarius, we infer that such events must be common in the life of big spiral galaxies like our own. The Milky Way probably dined on a number of dwarf galaxy snacks in the past."

On the other hand, Majewski and his colleagues have been surprised by the Earth's proximity to a portion of the Sagittarius debris.

"For only a few percent of its 240 million-year orbit around the Milky Way galaxy does our Solar System pass through the path of Sagittarius debris," Majewski said. "Remarkably, stars from Sagittarius are now raining down onto our present position in the Milky Way. Stars from an alien galaxy are relatively near us. We have to re-think our assumptions about the Milky Way galaxy to account for this contamination."

The new findings will help astronomers measure the total mass of the Milky Way and Sagittarius galaxies, and probe the quantity and distribution of the invisible dark matter in these system

For a long time the professional scientific community has resisted the thought
that the different time periods of the Mayan calendar are driving cosmic and human evolution through their influence on consciousness. While of course a large number of professional Mayanists have worked with elucidating the structure of the calendar system of the ancient Maya there has always been a resistance to acknowledging that there would be a reality behind these energies. Hence, even though it may not have been said so directly these cosmic energies have often been regarded as some kind of superstitions.

A beginning of a shift in attitude now however seems to be on its way. At an international conference in Systems Theory at the University of Liege in Belgium Professor Tadeja Jere Lazanski won the award for best scientific paper in the CASYS'09 (Computing Anticipatory Systems) conference:

The paper outlines the nine levels of evolution that are developed according to the Mayan calendar system and places them in the context of Systems Theory. In short Dr Jere Lazanski is driving the thesis that what the ancient Maya saw as a plan driven by divine energies is what now is generally referred to as the big picture.

This initial breakthrough into mainstream science of the true Mayan calendar system of Nine Underworlds and Thirteen Heavens is very significant and it opens for the first time a road to discussing not only the Mayan calendar, but also the many evolutionary progressions that it describes in certain scholarly settings.

It is also noteworthy that, in contrast, the urban legend of a "galactic alignment" as the basis for the Mayan Long Count for good reasons has consistently been rejected by professional scientists (see for instance Vincent Malmström,

That the breakthrough into established science of the True Mayan calendar system first happened in Systems Theory is understandable. It is only from the perspective of the whole system that the Mayan calendar can be seen to make sense and any specialized science such as professional Mayanism, history, biology or physics would have to undergo so significant changes in its methodology and general approaches in order to recognize the validity of the Mayan calendar system that this would only happen against a much greater resistance.

I congratulate Professor Jere Lazanski for her contribution to science and feel this recognition indicates the beginning of an increased openness in the scientific community to the deeper meaning of the Mayan calendar.

In his book Maya Cosmogenesis 2012, he shows an observatory at:

On page 35, he states, "The early Zapotec capital of Monte Alban is located on a mountaintop outside of present day Ozxaca. Most structures at Monte Alban are oriented 4 degrees to 8 degrees east of north. Structure 1, a strange arrow-shaped building is different. Archaeoastronomers Anthony Aveni and David Linsley determined that this building loosely points to the setting positions of the five bright stars of the Southern Cross. This alignment occurred in the precessional era of 250 B.C. when these structures were built. Overall, the loose 3 degree range of the alignment is not very impressive. However, Aveni noted another alignment that yields more interesting results. The perpendicular to Structure J's baseline shoots through what was an opening or doorway in Structure P points northeast to where the bright star Capella was seen to rise in the processional era of 275 B.C. During this time Capella made its first reappearance in the predawn sky (its heliacal rise) on May 8, which is the first solar zenith passage date at the latitude of Monte Alban. Solar zenith passages (when the sun passes through the zenith at high noon) were important indicators of the zenith center and told the Mesoamerican farmer when the rainy season was about to commence. Solar zenith passages occur only within the Tropics, that is between latitudes 23.5 degrees S and 23.5 degrees N. Amazingly platform Structure B through which the Capella observations were sighted, houses Monte Alban's famous zenith tube. This vertical tube leads into an underground chamber where zenith passage measurements of the sun and stars could be made. Zenith tubes have been found at other sites, such as Xochicalco in Central Mexico.

They probably understood that the zenith center was located in 'time' as well as in space, because solar zenith passages occur only twice every year. The solar year (the haab), the tzolkin and intervals between zenith passages all contributed to the ancient Mesoamerican's developing calendric cosmology. It was the synchronization in time of key points in these different cycles that would define the center of time and space. However, it might be better to say that key alignments in large time cycles open the doorway to the center of spacetime, rather than define that center.

Teotihuacan, the great Toltec metropolis where the Fifth sun was born, also contains evidence of having been constructed according to an astronomical plan. Several scholars have argued that an alignment with the Pleiades was responsible for the founding orientation of Teotihuacan. The axis perpendicular to the famous Street of the dead pointed to the setting position of the Pleiades. The two "pecked crosses" that scholars believe were used to lay out the city lie along this axis. The pecked cross in the group of structures called the Viking Group is just east of the Street of the Dead, and the Cerro Colorado pecked cross is some distance to the west.

John Major Jenkins tells us this in his introduction:

"The eclipse is the path traveled by the sun, moon, and planets through the sky. Twelve constellations lie along the ecliptic, and the sun passes through all twelve during the course of one year. The ecliptic cross over the Milky Way at a 60 degree angle near the constellation Sagittarius. As such, it forms a cross with the Milky Way, and this cosmic cross was called the Sacred Tree by the ancient Maya. (The cross form was also known as the "crossroads." Amazingly, the center of this cosmic cross, that is right where the ecliptic crosses over the Milky Way is exactly where the December solstice sun will be in A.D. 2012. This alignment occurs only once every 25,800 years.

"The Milky Way is observed as a bright, wide band of stars arching through the sky. In the clear skies of ancient Mesoamerica, many dark, blotchy areas could be observed along the Milky Way's length. These are "dark cloud" formations caused by interstellar dust. The most prominent of these is called the "dark-rift" or the "Great Cleft" of the Milky Way. It looks like a dark road running along the Milky Way, and it points right at the cosmic crossing point, the center of the Maya Sacred Tree, right where the sun will be in 2012! The Maya called this dark-rift the Black Road, or the Road to the Underworld. They seem to have imagined it as a portal to another world, and the December solstice sun can enter it only in A.D. 2012.

"The area of the sky where all of these symbols and celestial objects converge is the center of our Milky Way Galaxy. This was perhaps the most astounding thing I discovered. The par of the Milky Way that the December solstice sun will conjunct is also where the center of our Galaxy (the Galactic Center) is located. It is the cosmic womb from which new stars are born, and from which everything in our Galaxy, including humans, came.

In the cosmos - 1 minute time is not going to make that big a difference
considering the vast amount of space between our sun and the center of the Milky Way
as seen from Earth. The original calendar was based on Mayan information at a
specific temple as yet unidentified as exact position.

THE ASTROLOGY OF DECEMBER 2012: DISASTER, ASCENSION OR BOTH?

According to many prophecies something important is about to happen in 2012.

In 2012 the centre of the Galaxy is at 0 degree of the Western zodiacal sign Capricorn. 0 degree Capricorn is the point of the zodiac where the Sun is during the December solstice.

At December 21, 11.12 GMT during the December solstice the Sun is at the exact centre of the Galaxy. According to the Mayas the center of the Galaxy is the cosmic womb: the place of dead, transformation, regeneration and rebirth. This moment shows the end of their calendar.

To know more about what this means it is interesting to make an astrological chart of the December solstice of 2012.

Below you see a chart for 21 December 12.12 Middle European Time (11.12 GMT), Amsterdam, Netherlands. The planetary pattern will be the same for all locations only the ascendant and house division will be different.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE ASTROLOGICAL CHART

The Sun is at 0 degrees Capricorn, the point of the December solstice. It makes a sextile to Neptune, right at the beginning of Pisces. This is an almost exact sextile. The orb is less then half a degree. This aspect can point towards a spiritual experience, a loss or both.

The most important configuration is a yod which we find in the chart. This is also called the Finger of God. It looks like an arrow in the chart and it indicates change and transformations. .

The yod consists of:

1. A quincunx (150 degree aspect) between Jupiter and Pluto.

2. A quincunx between Jupiter and Saturn.

3. A central opposition (180 degree aspect) made between Jupiter and the Mercury/Venus conjunction.

The two quincunxes are almost exact, they have an orb of less then half a degree. In fact the quincunx between Jupiter and Pluto is exact at December 21 2012.

THE MEANING OF THE ASTROLOGICAL CHART

Pluto is the planet of radical transformation, death and rebirth.

Saturn is the planet of the earthly realm and of learning experiences, especially those of a more painful nature.

Jupiter is the planet of expansion. It is the focus of the yod, the planet which receives the strong energy of the other planets involved. It also expands the energy of the other planets involved (especially Saturn and Pluto).

This yod indicates transformational processes which can be painful for many.

Jupiter has a central place in this because it is the focal point of the energy. This indicates changes in our religious systems, beliefs, philosophical systems. These fall under Jupiter.

Another notable configuration is the T-square with Neptune as focal point:

Jupiter makes a square (90 degree aspect) to Neptune.
Neptune makes a square to Venus.
Venus opposes Jupiter, this is the central opposition that activates the yod.

Therefore Neptune, the planet of spirituality, ascension, confusion and floods is a cruxial planet in this chart.

Is it possible to find out more details about the picture given above? Maybe we can use another astrological method to find out more about what the above chart indicates?

THE CHINESE FOUR PILLAR CHART OR THE STORY OF THE TWO DRAGONS

I have made a Chinese Four Pillar Chart. This type of chart contains of four pillars that are dependend upon the hour, day, month and year. Because the hourly pillar depends upon the location I have confined myself to the pillars of the day, month and year. These are the same for the entire world.

In the roots of the chart (the lower part of the pillars) we find a rat that is surrounded by two dragons. The dragons almost seems to be making plans to eat the rat.

The dragon represents the ouroboros, the mythological dragon or snake that bites its own tail. According to Mayan cosmology this ouroboros symbolises the Milky Way.

The dragon is an earthly sign, the rat is a water sign. Therefore this chart contains water and earth.

In the stems (the top of the chart) we find yang fire. This is the strong fire of the Sun or a natural fire.

In this chart water is the strongest element. It can be found in the rat and in the two Yang Waters.

A meteorite falling in the ocean would be one expression of this chart. Or a vulcan (fire and earth) exploding and causing a tsunami (water). It could also indicate floods. Water and Earth the strongest elements of this charts are enemies to one another. Since Water is more powerful in the chart, this may indicate largescale floods. Therefore of all the events possible large scale floods are the most likely.

This is confirmed by the Western chart in which Neptune plays a crucial role.

In my opinion what this chart indicates is that the polluted energy of the collective unconsciousness will turn against humanity. Whatever happens, it will be an expression of the energy that is radiated by a humanity that is unable to live in peace and to make the right choices (for peace, welfare, health and inner spirituality).

2012: Controversy - the Creation Cycles

Over the decades much discussion has focused on finding the exact correlation
between the Mayan Long Count and the Gregorian calendar. Most researchers i
n the field have now come to agree that the so-called GMT correlation, placing
the beginning of the Long Count 4 Ahau 8 Cumku on the Julian day 584 283,
August 11, 3114 BC, is correct. This means by consequence that it will end on
December 21, 2012 and most, such as Jose Arguelles, John Jenkins and
Terence McKenna, who have taken an interest in the calendar of the Maya,
have endorsed this date as the end of the current cycle.

THE CROP CIRCLE CONNECTION

In "SC" # 68, Michael Glickman interpreted the 1997 Etchilhampton "Grid" crop formation (above) as a pointer to 2012. The formation was a 30 x 26 checkerboard-like grid, giving a total of 780 squares. This, Michael theorized, could indicate the thirty 26-week periods between 1997 and 2012.

Geoff adds that the 780 squares of the grid are exactly divisible by the TZOLKIN, or Mayan Sacred Calendar, which is a grid of 260 squares with sides of 13 x 20. Three Tzolkins fit into the crop grid pattern. Two fit straight in and the third after bisection.

The grid seems related to a "map" called "Psi Bank Warp and Holonomic Woof" mentioned in a book called "Earth Ascending," by Jose Arguelles (page 121). The "map" consists of eight Tzolkins joined together showing relationships between the Mayan calendar, the "I Ching" and the 64 DNA codons. Arguelles researched the Mayan calendar, physics, philosophy, geomancy and the "I Ching," and concluded that mankind is creating a "noosphere," or mind layer, around the Earth, which is evolving towards the "Omega Point of Planetary Awakening" in 2012, according to Teillard de Chardin.

Controversially appearing over two consecutive nights at Silbury Hill, Wiltshire on 2-3 August, according to resident 2012 prophecy expert and numerical conundrum whiz Geoff Stray, this vast wheel of ancient Maya symbols included “the double square spiral - the Maya symbol for jaguar snouts, which indicates an entrance to the underworld”. Given that, as is now widely known, the Maya calendar indicates an end-of-time point in the year 2012, this gave the UK newspapers something to get their teeth into, the Daily Mail dubiously proclaiming it ‘The Doomsday Crop Circle’. Much of the speculation about the 2012 connections made in the wake of this formation was highly questionable, but it made good headlines. Not that the press needed a genuine phenomenon to fill its columns; indeed the Sunday Express went out of its way to debunk the Mayan glyph, devoting two pages to doing this, perhaps in an effort to ‘get one over’ on its rival newspaper.

Among the many claims and counter-claims made about the symbolism of this formation, one widely-circulated e-mail article by C Lewis (pseudonym) from Australia stated the Mayan wheel depicted a ‘Calendar clock’, counting down to 2012.

Joe Mason explains the Aztec Sun Stone Calendar. The outer ring portion of the Stone is said to be twin serpents, one light and the other dark. I believe the two represent the twins, Quetzalcoatl and Xolotl. They relate to Venus, corresponding to The Morning Star and Evening Star. Quetzalcoatl, of course, is also known as Kukulkan (or Kukulcan) and the Feathered Serpent. Perhaps the depiction of two types of feathers in the center of the formation hint at the feathered twins of the Aztecs. They are positioned in a general Vesica Piscis arrangement, also suggestive of duality.

See: Mayan Prophecy of the End of the Great Cycle. Quetzalcoatl translates to plumed serpent. The word quetzalli eventually came to mean "treasure, or precious". The word coatl came to mean "dragon" as well as "snake" and occasionally "twin", hence it could mean "Precious Twin".

The Dragon is a symbol of Strength, Goodness, Courage and Endurance.
The Dragon is Yang energy which is male. He is the emblem of vigilance and security, and also the spirit of change. In Chinese mythology the Dragon is the predestined partner of the Phoenix, which is Yin energy. Feng Shui endeavours to capture Chi', the Dragon's breath.

We find this interesting parallel in the book of Revelations:

"When the dragon saw that he had been hurled to the earth, he pursued the woman who had given birth to the male child…”
"Then from his mouth the serpent spewed water like a river, to overtake the woman and sweep her away with the torrent. But the earth helped the woman by opening its mouth and swallowing the river that the dragon had spewed out of his mouth.”

Joe Mason, contributed this excerpt from Moira Timms' book, "Beyond Prophecies and Predictions" (p. 256): " "The name Quetzalcoatl is derived from the quetzal bird of Guatemala and Mexico. The quetzal had golden-green and scarlet plumage, and was considered the most beautiful of all birds. "Quetzal" also means precious. "Coatl" is serpent. In the Maya language, "Kukulcan" means approximately the same thing. According to Hunbatz Men, "Ku" is sacred, God. "Kul" is coccyx, the base of the spine, where latent spiritual energy resides. "Can" means serpent. "Kukulcan" therefore is synonymous with "kundalini" - which is what the Kukulcan/Quetzalcoatl archetype is all about, of course. To be iconographically correct, however, the god Quetzalcoatl is not himself the feathered serpent, but the one who emerges from the serpent, just as the spirit emerges from the body through the top of the head, and the Morning Star emerges from the horizon."

69 Venus was an important astrological symbol for the Mexica and was called "Tlauixcalpantecuhtli", which means - Lord of the House of Dawn. The planet had two aspects and was shown and revered as two gods. One, as Morning Star, was kind, and was the Precious Twin, Quetzalcoatl. He held the sun in the sky in the morning. His dark twin Xolotl ruled Venus in the Evening and during the night. Xolotl pushed the sun into darkness.

Interestingly, ancient myths tell of the Creator Serpent. James Churchward wrote that this does not represent the Creator, but rather, the way the Creator creates. Joseph Campbell wrote that the ancients usually used the serpent to represent change, by the death/rebirth of shedding the old skin. The symbols seem to tell us that the Creator creates through changes. The Aztec twin serpents fit well with the same meaning.

The outer ring of the "Aztec" crop circle formation has 20 x 2 = 40 segments. I believe this may be related to two interlaced five-pointed stars, as displayed in a number of crop circle formations.

The cropcircleconnector.com people explain: August 4, 2004 Silbury Hill, Wiltshire, England - Whoever, or whatever, is responsible for the August 2 to 3, 2004, crop formation at Silbury Hill, the design in its border is a mirror image of a rare statue of the Aztec God, Xochipilli, The Prince of Flowers, Maizes, Love, Games, Beauty, Song and Dance. Xochi means 'flower,' while pilli means either prince or child. In the mid-1800's, a 16th century Aztec statue of Xochipilli was unearthed on the side of the volcano Popocatapetl near Tlamanalco, Mexico. The statue is of a single figure seated upon a temple-like base.

Both the statue and the base upon which it sits are covered in carvings of sacred and psychoactive flowers including mushrooms (Psilocybe aztecorum), tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum), morning glory (Turbina corymbosa), sinicuichi (Heimia salicifolia), possibly cacahuaxochitl (Quararibea funebris), and one unidentified flower. The figure itself sits crosslegged on the base, head tilted up, eyes open, jaw tensed, with his mouth half open. The statue is currently housed in the Museo Nacional de Anthropologia of Mexico.

The ancient Aztec statue's repeating base design of 90-degree mazes back-to-back is similar to, but curving in the opposite direction of, the August 3, 2004, border at Silbury Hill.

Historically, the Aztec name for the huge basaltic monolith is Cuauhxicalli Eagle Bowl, but it is universally known as the Aztec Calendar or Sun Stone. It was during the reign of the 6th Aztec monarch in 1479 that this stone was carved and dedicated to the principal Aztec deity: the sun. The stone has both mythological and astronomical significance. It weighs almost 25 tons, has a diameter of just under 12 feet, and a thickness of 3 feet.
The Mexicans, as all other Meso-Americans, believed in the periodic destruction and re-creation of the world. The "Calendar Stone" in the Museo Nacional de Antropología (National Museum of Anthropology) in Mexico City depicts in its central panel the date 4 Ollin (movement), on which they anticipated that their current world would be destroyed by earthquake, and within it the dates of previous holocausts: 4 Tiger, 4 Wind, 4 Rain, and 4 Water. .
Every 52 years the tonalpohualli and the xiuhpohualli calendars would align. This marked what was known as a Mesoamerican "century."
Tonatiuh's Face is the face of the sun, Lord of Heaven, around which takes place all daily and periodic phenomena.
First ring from Center. Four Ollin representing the Earthquake Epoch or Sun. The four epochs represented inside the square portions of this symbol correspond to the four previous epochs also called suns.
Second Ring - The second ring from the center is composed of 20 named days contained in one month, also used for naming years. Each year starts on one of four of these 20 days.
The Calendar date '4 Ollin' will be in 2012. Actually I made a mistake, in that only 19 fine lines show up for each inner clock-hand, not 20 (couldn't see from early photos)!
Hence the inner calendar actually reads (6 + 6).19.19 = 12.19.19 rather than 12.20.20 = 13.0.0 as for any full Sun of 5200 years. That is like writing "999" just before "1000", and means (like on the outer dial) that the end of the Fourth Sun is near: but only one year and not 8.67?
Alternatively, something important might be scheduled to happen next year (at the end of 2005), then something again in December 2012? A lot of intellectual content for a fake! Some additional physical or testimonial evidence is perhaps needed

This crop circle is communicating harmomics of the "Time of the Sixth Sun" we are currently in the Fifth Sun time era.

Compare this Crop circle to the Sixth Sun "DreamStar" tone systems diagram see attached Link - notice in the crop circle there are 16 small squares that form the large square outside in the image.

In the Crop circle "Inner circle" there is a Six pointed Star like star of David points=Six and Star=Sun thus means "Sixth Sun" the time era coming upon the completion of this current 5th Sun. These six points form the 6 suns/worlds/eras:

This "Inner circle" of this crop circle forms the 17th "Never-ending" position in the "DreamStar" Sixth Sun

You will notice many crop circles have harmonics that appear related.

The Mayan periods/cycles of Time known as SUNS. Some sources cite we are in 4th Sun and some cite 5th Sun. These are the same depending upon if you start counting at "zero" or "one"

We are currently in the (4)th or (5)th SUN depending upon where start counting. And we are moving into either the (5)th or (6)th SUN/world again depending on where you start counting.

Best guess is that we are entering SIXTH SUN according to Maya 2012 date. The image shows but one of them is a shift or change in the harmonics of creation. Some Crop Circles are communicating this shift/change.

The current Mayan Tzolkin has 13 tones and the Sixth Sun Tzolkin has 17 tones. These numbers 13 and 17 can be found in various Crop Circles. As other related numbers like the "center" number [7] or [9]. Which are the center tones of each tzolkin respectively.

In The Mayan Factor by José Arguelles, we understand that LAMAT marks the beginning of the final AHAU cycle which includes all 13 Katuns. This final cycle is a culmination of the Baktun of the Transformation of Matte and began in the year 1756 to be completed in the year 2012. The energy of LAMAT is to ‘Seal [the whole mind of the world] with the Star-Seed Harmony’. LAMAT heralds a new way of living on Earth and a new experience and understanding of material life, including our own bodies. This is certainly reflected in the beautiful and elegant symmetry of this crop circle.

On top of all that, the particular shape of the formation is also found in a symbol for Mother Mary, an ancient Goddess figure, as well as a venerated Christian icon.

In this symbol, we see references to the four solar turning-points of the year, as well as the lunar aspects (dark and light circles), rendering Her, Lady of All the World. An interesting point is that LAMAT as a word stands for ‘rabbit’ which is also a long-standing symbol for the Goddess.

It has been pointed out that several U.K. formations contain the eight or nine step spiral of rectangles, such as those at Boreham Down, Woolstone Hill, and Wayland's Smithy:

The U.K. formation of 2005, at Ripley, near Bournemouth, Dorset should probably also be included. It was reported 17 April 2005.
The spiraling numbers of the Ripley crop glyph is similar to the spiraling squares in the previous glyph.

At least one other person has pointed this out. The 6 pointed star, when looked at from an angle, looks like 3 blocks. I finally got around to illustrating the idea. Such block designs are often shown like a wall of blocks. It is sometimes used to illustrate how our perception can view an image in different ways. The view can appear as looking down at the tops of the boxes, or as looking up to the bottoms of the boxes:

Earth Star – A Mayan Connection!!

The beautiful earth star which fell onto fields at Echilhampton, near Devizes on August 15 is indeed a delicate formation and merits much appreciation. It is also the shape of the Mayan star-glyph, LAMAT, ‘Yellow Star’ and is associated with the planet Venus in that tradition. Here is a meditation on that glyph as it is presented in the website:

You evolve this self-love into a deep love for humanity and a love and caring for the planet Earth. Meditating with this glyph will help you remember and hold the vibration for unconditional love. The crop picture which appeared on August 18, 2006 at Etchilhampton Hill seems to show (i) the four-fold pointed-symmetry of a gravitational wave field, as well as (ii) certain grid lines which are commonly used to represent gravity or curved space time:

The new Etchilhampton Hill crop picture thus has a concise, logical meaning:

"Space-time may vibrate in two different directions, either 'up-down' or 'left-right', in response to the field energy of a passing gravitational wave".

But why should the crop artists draw that particular picture at the end of 2006, after five other amazing "wormhole" pictures which illustrated possible technological uses of curved space-time? There could be two reasons.

First, gravitational wave detectors are being built now all around the world; some are even planned for space. Those new and highly-sensitive devices may be used to detect gravity waves from distant astronomical sources, which could potentially cause severe geological disturbances in the future, if any of them were to pass through our Solar System at light speed c.

For example, we learn from a website at Caltech: "Gravitational waves are ripples in the fabric of space-time. When they enter our LIGO detector, they will decrease the distance between test masses on one arm, while increasing it on the other arm. Such changes can be detected by bouncing laser beams back and forth between the test masses, then by interfering laser beams from the two arms."

Secondly, it would not seem impossible that gravitational waves are now in transit toward Earth. Many previous crop pictures suggest this. Furthermore, see (below) speculations by Paul LaViolette, a non-mainstream astronomer, about the Boxing Day 2004 earthquake and its causes; as well as observations by Lonnie Thompson, the American glaciologist, concerning the last major sudden-climate-change on Earth in 3100 BC (end of the Mayan "Fourth Sun").

Now when a powerful gravity wave with pointed four-fold symmetry passes through Earth, it may produce two different kinds of geological vibration as either "up-down" or "left-right", just as were shown schematically at Etchilhampton Hill:

If the whole planet Earth vibrates suddenly like that, there are going to be plenty of earthquakes, tsunamis and volcanoes Due to the relatively large size of most gravity waves, nearby stars could be affected as well. Recall from the Christian and Jewish scriptures various passages where "the Earth will reel like a drunkard" or "the seas will roar" and "powers (stars) in the heaven will be shaken". The Koran of Muslim faith describes a similar event. .

How might gravity waves be produced in far distant parts of our galaxy? Gravity waves may be produced through several different mechanisms, the most common of which might be 'collapsing neutron stars' or 'binary black holes'.

Paul LaViolette has argued that a gravity wave from a collapsing neutron star caused the Boxing Day 2004 earthquake. It was followed by an x-ray blast on the next day, consistent with Einstein-Rosen theory.

By contrast, long-term-periodic emission of gravity waves might be better ascribed to binary black holes, one of which could perhaps be present at the centre of our Milky Way:

For example, if the two components of some binary system at the centre of our Milky Way were to orbit once every 5125 Earth years, then they might strongly emit gravity waves only once during some brief part of that mutual orbit, when they come close together. If that is the case, then a twin pulse of gravity waves and x-rays could potentially be emitted from the centre of our galaxy once every 5125 years. It would then take another 40,000 years (roughly) to reach Earth and Sun at light speed c.

Could such a binary system of black holes, and long-term-periodic emission of gravity waves, provide a plausible mechanism for 5100-year periodicities in the ancient Mayan calendar?

The accuracy of the Mayan calendar was recently validated by American glaciologist Lonnie Thompson, who found many different lines of evidence for a sudden, worldwide climate change on Earth 5138 plus or minus 45 years ago (Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences USA 103, 10536-10543, 2006). He has attributed that event to "a sudden change in the brightness of our Sun". His dates from radio-isotope analysis agree well with the Mayan calendar value of 5120 years ago for "end of the Fourth Sun". According to that same calendar, the next major event will occur six years from now in 2012.

Could that be what the current crop-circle phenomenon is all about? The crop artists have been warning us about wave-like emissions from the galactic centre since at least 1994: see for example a lucid crop picture from that year, which shows a Mayan symbol for the galactic centre on the left, with curly rays or waves emerging on all sides:

Isabelle Kingston noted, from supposed psychic contact, that crop pictures are being given now "at a cataclysmic time in Earth's history" (see Freddy Silva's book)

Both Wayland's Smithy pictures of August 2005 and July 2006 could plausibly be interpreted in terms of astronomical rays which will impact Earth and Sun in mid-August 2007. An alternative explanation for Wayland's Smithy of July 2005 in terms of "skyscrapers" can not explain why it shows numerous mathematical codes See also

Finally, regarding to the supposed future predictive ability of our crop artists, the putative August 2007 event will be a good test to learn whether they might be truthful and reliable concerning December 2012 Or as John Locke once wrote (Essay Concerning Human Understanding, 1690), "In matters of substance, experiment can be our only guide."

If the crop artists do have wormhole / time-travel technology, as suggested by five other pictures this year, then their arcane source of knowledge seems self-evident! By contrast, the Chronology Protection Postulate of Stephen Hawking asserts that past-transfer of future-knowledge would not be permitted by "the laws of Nature". But nothing is more common than for great scientists to disagree.....

Crop Circle predicts the coming of the Christ child

After you have read this, I ask that you share this message with as many people as possible. A copy of it is available at and as a downloadable pdf from the Articles I am about to share with you a profound channeling. It has to do with the unfolding of an event which may or may not already be in your awareness. This event is widely known as Ascension. Ascension involves a transition in consciousness for the inhabitants of planet Earth and the planet itself.

For many of you, this will come as a surprise. For others, it is a term with which you are familiar; however what it means may be a little unclear. For others, you may have a clear view of what you believe it means, however most of us have been subject to a lot of disinformation about it and, frankly, the specifics have not been available to fully understand - until now.

There have been many messages from many places about Ascension. What is different about this one is that it is directly associated with a crop circle pattern that was laid down on July 22, 2008 at Avebury Manor in England.

Those who have analysed this pattern have realised it is telling us something about December 2012, the time of the ending of the Mayan Calendar, including the arrival of a comet that, according to the crop circle site, our astronomers are as yet unaware of.

For some of you, the idea that crop circles are not manmade and carry messages for humanity will come as a surprise. If so, I suggest you browse and see for yourself the extraordinary patterns that are being laid down. You will quickly realise these patterns are not, for the most part, manmade and if you want to examine these phenomena in more detail, I highly recommend Star Dreams.

How come these extraordinary messages receive no mainstream publicity? I'll leave you to reflect on that question as a thread by which you may begin to pull your perceived reality apart.

The arrival of comets has a deep sub-conscious pull for mankind as they have been seen and understood over the millennia as messengers alerting us to great change. And so it is with this one.

And now, to the channeling.

We have the explanation that Lord Metatron was going to provide to us in relation to the Crop Circle. The comet coming in relation to, around the time of, Jeshua's birth.

I am being directed to Galactic Centre.

And of course looking at our galaxy, not from the inside but from the exterior, I see a bulge, which looks like a line going through it. They wanted to show me that first. And then they're taking me inside. I am standing there in the black hole which is right outside of Galactic Centre. And in 2012 there's all this energy being fed into Galactic Centre through the black hole. I'm tracing where it's coming from. There's a whole string. Energy is like being... it's coming from a constellation of stars. I don't know how far it is - in another dimension.

It is other life that is held in black matter. We've talked about this, the yin and the yang, the plus and the minus. So black matter is life just like us except it is the opposite electrical field.

And so this energy is coming from a very advanced constellation. Actually it's three constellations set up in the pattern that we are familiar with - the triangle. And it is the cycle. They're sending the energy through this black hole into Galactic Centre. 2012, December - the date that that energy comes through the black hole is not the same date that the child will be born. Even though it might seem that it should be instantaneous it is not. There is a lag period from the time that it comes through the black hole. No. It is not that. From the time that it is discharged from this triangular configuration and then moves through the black hole and then into Galactic Centre. And it is that energy that comes through in December that transforms Earth. Not only Earth but it imprints our entire solar system. And so all the planets are shari ng in this energy pattern. The other planets in our solar system, they imprint this energy also. Of course the energy comes through the sun.

I'm seeing the 28^th. The child to be born on the 28^th.

Energy comes through the sun and joins that moment. It will repeat what happened earlier when the solar wind stopped (1999) . The electrons that are the solar wind will stop. It will stop for three days, as that energy which came through the black hole imprints Earth. And of course it will imprint all of the other planets. The planets, each of them imprinting in some fashion their energy. Because each planet has a different energy, you know, and a different purpose. And during those three days this energy will completely alter the particles on Earth. They will be transformed. It will be like an explosion into eve ry particle on Earth, and human beings even, where the electrons will have more space in between them. The planet will be re-patterned.

And there will be many who will not be able to withstand the change in the energy pattern because they have done no preparation. And if their bodies have not been cleared and they are filled with, as you call it, stuck energy from the past, they will perish during those three days. It's not a punishment mind you. It's just that they will not - the physical - will not be able to be supported with the change in the energy. Just because this energy has come does not mean that every soul who is here on this planet will survive.

They all have the opportunity to ascend.

But those who have not worked on this process will not survive the pressure against the physical. The changing in the cells will be too much for them. Those who have prepared or have been attempting to prepare will have cells that are crystalline. Those who have not prepared at all, their cells will be carbon based and they will not be able to survive under this (he is showing me this great pressure that will be exerted upon it) great pressure. They will die from it.

And those who are of the dark, who have no intention of moving towards the light, will not be able to exist in these energies either.

And so the good news is everyone has the opportunity to ascend. And the good news is those who perish will reincarnate in another place where the energies will be similar.

This is the justice of the moment, in a sense. Those who have worked will receive their reward. Those who have not will receive also what they didn't give. Each will have their own result.

And so what the crop circle is telling you is that this great change has to do with Galactic Centre. The energy comes through because of all the alignments. It is simply the alignments that allow the energy to come in on a straight line to come to Earth. It is like a lock, where you need a key to unlock the lock. And that is what 2012 is. This giant clockwork in the cosmos has lined up in a certain fashion for the energy to come through. And as this process unfolds, and as in so many things in life, humanity has always been warned.

Warnings are not always dire things. Warnings can sometimes be an announcement of the most profound, of the most powerful and yet of the most sublime. And this is what this child is. Powerful and sublime.

Isn't that not what love is actually? The most powerful? The most sublime?

The little child, the little child, one day, they say was born in Bethlehem so long ago. This little child will not be born in Bethlehem. But this little child will come in 2012 and the comet will proclaim his coming. So you might say, in essence, this is his comet. And those who watch the sky will remember that it was once called the Star of Bethlehem but since this child will not be born in Bethlehem then there is this comet announcing his birth.

Get clear about the truth of this for yourself. You owe it to yourself to do so.

Simply set your Intention to participate in this wondrous unfolding and be willing to face your fears and doubts. Be willing to ask why certain events happen to you. Stand as the creator of your own life, your own reality, as you are that. There are no victims. Be prepared to stand as a Sovereign being and bring all you need to be ready to you - and it will be so.

What I have just written will come as a shock to many of you. The idea that we are responsible for everything that unfolds in our lives is a concept that many struggle to hold. It is so far from the picture of reality that is fed to us. When you stand in this place, you will be amazed at the understanding that flows forth. This stand, however, is the last thing some on this planet wish us to take.

We have all lived countless lifetimes on Earth and in doing so have accumulated patterns of unresolved energy; energy resulting from traumas and other issues occurring earlier in this life and also in past lives. When a trauma is repeated over three or more lifetimes, this forms a pattern that you will likely need help to clear. There are many gifted energy workers ready, willing and able to assist you with this. This is the stuck energy referred to in the channeling. These subconscious patterns are major dictators of what is showing up in your current life. That's how it works.

Heed this warning

So I encourage you to heed this warning and begin to prepare. There will be others more powerful than this one. I speak of one in my e-book. No-one on the planet will be able to say they were not warned. That is the way of spirit.

I encourage you to embrace the tools, the knowledge and the protocols coming forth on to support you in what are and will continue to be unsettling times. Unsettling they may be, however you can choose to witness them and allow them to swirl around you without touching you. Difficult times do not need to be difficult for you. We are all much greater, more powerful beings than we take ourselves to be. Now is the time to begin to understand and embrace this.

Some of you reading this will already have been caught up in the financial unwinding occurring, or are struggling financially for other reasons. Know that it is part of the unfolding of Ascension (see the article on the website above from Lord Metatron on this subject). Strange though this may sound to many of you, you do not have to participate in this chaos. You do not need to suffer.

The second part of Avebury Manor shows a more detailed view of our solar system near Earth in December of 2012

Apart from farmer's damage, the old part of Avebury Manor shows one major change: a "comet" entering our solar system on the left. Then on the right, its new part shows a highly expanded view of lunar orbit (a crescent Moon circling the Earth), close to a dotted oval symbol for "12 lunar months". During month 12 (or December 2012), our Moon will apparently come close in the sky to a "bright comet", drawn inside curved tramlines nearby.

Below the new lunar crescent at Avebury Manor, we can see a "double ring" symbol for Earth's Sun, connected by a long curved line to six other small symbols yet to be identified. Four bright "stars" appear nearby, close to the old orbit of Pluto.

Looking next at many small symbols near top centre, we can see the crescent symbol for Moon, lying in its twelfth month (solar or lunar) next to the same bright comet just mentioned:

Looking finally at many small symbols near bottom centre, we can see a double-ring symbol for Sun, connected by a long curved line to another circle with two small stars enclosed:

By studying our Sun's path through the sky (red dashed line) during December, I was able to work out that those two small stars lie in the constellation Ophiuchus at Right Ascension 17 hours, 22 minutes, or close to our Sun on December 13 as 17 hours, 26 minutes. Four other stars (or M8) provide a confirming match between the star pattern and the crop picture. The crop symbol for M8 is shown correctly as a circle plus an extended line, because it is an extended star cluster.

One week later on December 21-23, our Sun lies at a slightly larger R.A. value of 18 hours, 2-11 minutes in the constellation Sagittarius. Four nearby symbols (not shown) as "spiral, snail, serpent, crossed box" remain unidentified, but could represent the four constellations bordering Ophiuchus in Earth's sky. For example, the "serpent" could be Serpens, while the "snail" was a constellation in ancient times.

Twelve years ago on July 13, 1996, we saw a similar astronomical prediction for December 2012 at West Overton:

This new crop picture seems to confirm the original crop picture shown in 1996, of a bright comet next to a crescent Moon in December 2012. Its importance is that no such prediction can (or has) currently been made by conventional astronomical science.

A very similar crop picture appeared at West Overton on July 13, 1996. There next to a galactic centre symbol for "Hunab Ku", we saw a crescent Moon next to a bright comet in late 2012.

NOTE ABOUT HUNAB KU:

The Hunab ku was invented by Catholic missionaries according to this article.

There we saw (apparently) the same new Moon of December 13, 2012, lying in Earth's sky next to the same bright comet. Both objects will lie close to our Sun during its eclipse of the galactic centre on December 21-23 (which is indicated by a Mayan spiral symbol called "Hunab Ku").

In summary, both of these crop pictures lead us to think that something important may happen one week before the Mayan Long Count calendar ends on December 21-23, 2012. At the very least, we should see a bright comet next to a new Moon. We might even see curved lines or "rays" emerging from the galactic center, as shown at West Overton in the diagram above.

I think you guys are on the right track with this analysis. But see if your bright comet is at one of these heliocentric longitudes obtained from T367. Comet Event 1 (The Appearance Of The Comets At The Distance Of The Asteroid Belt: 02/25/07, Other Comets At Heliocentric Longitudes:

3: 139 degrees;
4: 161.5 degrees;
5: 195.0 degrees

I want to share the following notes which I have on the second crop circle from Avebury Manor.

I want to call the second Avebury circle " The Returning of the Tenth Planet Niburu " In my opinion this is the first crop circle what actually depicts the origin of the makers of these symbols. One can easily see that the circles are related. We can see the planets again in the same position as in circle I

Lets start with the planets and the sun. What is obvious is that the sun, the central point, is approximately 25% bigger. The sun has even in his power the planets Mercurius and Venus. We also can see that on the outside four circles are shown, which are getting bigger in format.

What I see in this picture is that a Big Comet is approaching. The sun reacts on this Comet and is expanding and so becoming a lot more bigger, but also hotter and hotter. The planets Mercury and Venus are being burned up. What will happen with the Earth. That is explained in the picture beside the planets orbits.

Lets start with the big circle and a small circle with a central circle sticking on this. I understand that this is the missing planet nr. 10 or Niburu. Niburu has its own orbit outside our solar system, which is shown. I see that Niburu also has a moon. To the right we see an ellips with 11 tiny circles around it. I think they mean that they own a huge space ship which is heading to a kind of teardrop shaped picture. I think they mean the sorrow and grief on planet Earth, because of the suns explosion. So in popular, I understand that they send this space craft to mother Earth. But if someone else understands this different, then please react.

As follows I will explain the symbols at the left of Niburu's orbit.

The diamond shaped symbol can be a space ship, but also can mean a laboratory. Above that symbol we see the symbol of a sperm. Then follows a turtle and a swirl. After the swirl I cannot clearly see or understand the next symbol, but the following bigger symbol is very interesting and between that symbol and the orbit of Pluto I cannot anymore see clearly the smaller symbols.

What I understand is that they explain that they brought life (Diamond and sperm symbol), it was a slow process ( the turtle), but finally evolution ( the swirl) took place. The bigger symbol is at the left planet Earth. They put Earth in the proper orbit and they will do this again when our sun is changing. I understand that they will take Earth to a safer place.

Introduction

Transits of Venus across the disk of the Sun are among the rarest of planetary alignments. Indeed, only six such events have occurred since the invention of the telescope (1631, 1639, 1761, 1769, 1874 and 1882). The next two transits of Venus will occur on 2004 June 08 and 2012 June 06.

The principal events occurring during a transit are characterized by contacts. The event begins with contact I which is the instant when the planet's disk is externally tangent with the Sun. The entire disk of the Venus is first seen at contact II when the planet is internally tangent with the Sun. During the next several hours, Venus gradually traverses the solar disk at a relative angular rate of approximately 4 arc-min/hr. At contact III, the planet reaches the opposite limb and is once again internally tangent with the Sun. The transit ends at contact IV when the planet's limb is externally tangent to the Sun. Contacts I and II define the phase called ingress while contacts III and IV are known as egress. Greatest transit is the instant of minimum angular separation between Venus and the Sun as seen from Earth's geocenter.

Figure 1 (Low Res or High Res) illustrates the geocentric observing geometry of each transit across the Sun (celestial north is up). The 2004 transit crosses the Sun's southern hemisphere while the 2012 event crosses the northern hemisphere. The position of Venus at each contact is shown along with its path as a function of Universal Time. Each transit lasts over six hours. The apparent semi-diameters of Venus and the Sun are 29 arc-seconds and 945 arc-seconds respectively. This 1:32.6 diameter ratio results in an effective 0.001 magnitude drop in the Sun's integrated magnitude due to the transit. Geocentric contact times and instant of greatest transit appear to the left corners of figure 1 (Low Res or High Res).

Geographic Visibility of 2004 June 08

The global visibility of the 2004 transit is illustrated with the world map in Figure 2 (Low Res or High Res). The entire transit (all four contacts) is visible from Europe, Africa (except western parts), Middle East, and most of Asia (except eastern parts). The Sun sets while the transit is still in progress from Australia, Indonesia, Japan, Philippines, Korea, easternmost China and Southeast Asia. Similarly, the Sun rises with the transit already in progress for observers in western Africa, eastern North America, the Caribbean and most of South America. None of the transit will be visible from southern Chile or Argentina, western North America, Hawaii or New Zealand.

The horizontal parallax of Venus (~30 arc-sec) introduces a topocentric correction of up to ±7 minutes with respect to the geocentric contact times for observers at different geographic locations. Topocentric contact times (Universal Time) and corresponding altitudes of the Sun are presented for over one hundred cities inTable 1A (international) and Table 1B (USA).

Geographic Visibility of 2012 June 06

The global visibility of the 2012 transit is illustrated with the world map in Figure 3 (Low Res or High Res). The entire transit (all four contacts) is visible from northwestern North America, Hawaii, the western Pacific, northern Asia, Japan, Korea, eastern China, Philippines, eastern Australia, and New Zealand. The Sun sets while the transit is still in progress from most of North America, the Caribbean, and northwest South America. Similarly, the transit is already in progress at sunrise for observers in central Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and eastern Africa,. No portion of the transit will be visible from Portugal or southern Spain, western Africa, and the southeastern 2/3 of South America.

Frequency of Transits

Transits of Venus are only possible during early December and early June when Venus's orbital nodes pass across the Sun. If Venus reaches inferior conjunction at this time, a transit will occur. Transits show a clear pattern of recurrence at intervals of 8, 121.5, 8 and 105.5 years. The next pair of Venus transits occur over a century from now on 2117 Dec 11 and 2125 Dec 08.

Edmund Halley first realized that transits of Venus could be used to measure the Sun's distance, thereby establishing the absolute scale of the solar system from Kepler's third law. Unfortunately, his method proved impractical since contact timings of the desired accuracy are impossible due to the effects of atmospheric seeing and diffraction. Nevertheless, the 1761 and 1769 expeditions to observe the transits of Venus gave astronomers their first good value for the Sun's distance.

The planet Mercury can also transit the Sun. Since Mercury orbits the Sun more quickly than does Venus, it undergoes transits much more frequently. There are about 13 or 14 transits of Mercury each century. All Mercury transits fall within several days of 8 May and 10 November. During November transits, Mercury is near perihelion and exhibits a disk only 10 arc-seconds in diameter. By comparison, the planet is near aphelion during May transits and appears 12 arc-seconds across. However, the probability of a May transit is smaller by a factor of almost two. Mercury's slower orbital motion at aphelion makes it less likely to cross the node during the critical period. November transits recur at intervals of 7, 13, or 33 years while May transits recur only over the latter two intervals. The next two transits of Mercury are on 2003 May 07 and 2006 Nov 08. Remote viewing is nothing new in Tibetan monasteries. For thousands of years remote viewing in the middle of other spiritual activities have dominated Tibetan culture. What some Indian tourists came to learn from a few Tibetan monasteries under the current Chinese rule is extremely alarming and fascinating.

According to these tourists remote viewers are seeing world powers in the course of self-destruction. They also see that the world will not be destroyed. Between now and 2012 the world super powers will continue to engage in regional wars. Terrorism and covert war will be the main problem. In world politics something will happen in and around 2010. At that time the world powers will threaten to destroy each other.

Between 2010 and 2012, the whole world will get polarized and prepare for the ultimate dooms day. Heavy political maneuvers and negotiations will take place with little progress.

In 2012, the world will start plunging into a total destructive nuclear war.

And at that time something remarkable will happen, says, Buddhist monk of Tibet. Supernatural divine powers will intervene. The destiny of the world is not to self-destruct at this time.

Scientific interpretation of the monks’ statements makes it evident that the Extra Terrestrial powers are watching us every step of the way. They will intervene in 2012 and save the world from self-destruction.

When asked about recent UFO sightings in India and China, the monks smiled and said the divine powers are watching us all. Mankind cannot and will not be allowed to alter the future to that great extent.

Every human being though their current acts in life called “Karma” can alter the future lives to some extent, but changing the destiny in that large extent will not be allowed to that great an extent.

Monks also mentioned that beyond 2012 our current civilization would understand that the final frontier of science and technology is in area of spirituality and not material physics and chemistry. Beyond 2012, out technologies will take a different direction. People will learn the essence of spirituality, the relation between body and the soul, the reincarnation and the fact we are connected with each other are all part of “God”.

In India and China UFO sightings have increased in many folds. Many say the Chinese and Indian Governments are being contacted by the Extra Terrestrials.

In recent days most UFO activities have been seen in those countries who have indigenously developed Nuke capabilities.

When asked if these extra-terrestrials will show up in reality in 2012, the answers remote viewers are giving is: they will reveal themselves in such a way that none of us scared. They will reveal themselves only if they have to. As our science and technology progresses, we are destined to see them and interact with them any way.

According to the remote viewers, our earth is blessed and is being saved continuously from all kinds of hazards all the time that we are not even aware of. As our technologies progress we will realize how external forces saved us.

The Maya Cosmic Prophecy: From Sensation to Sensibility

Maya Scholars, in Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, Honduras, El Salvador and North America, have been watching with amusement and dismay as self-styled experts proclaim that ancient Maya prophets foretold an earth-shattering happening to occur December 21, 2012. This predicted phenomenon gets described in contradictory but often cataclysmic fashion--as an ecological collapse, a sunspot storm, a rare cosmic conjunction of the earth, sun, and the galactic center, a new and awesome stage of our evolution, and even a sudden reversal of the Earth's magnetic field which will erase all our computer drives. One even predicts the earth's initiation into a Galactic Federation, whose elders have been accelerating our evolution with a "galactic beam" for the last 5000 years. In sum, the world as we know it will suddenly come to a screeching halt.

These predictions are alleged to be prophecies by so-called "Ancient Mayans" whose "astronomically precise" calendar supposedly terminates on that date. According to such accounts, these mysterious Maya geniuses appeared suddenly, built an extraordinary civilization, designed in it clues for us, and then suddenly, inexplicably, vanished, as if they had completed their terrestrial mission. These same experts claim special credibility for the Maya prophecies by asserting that these historic sages, with their possible extraterrestrial origins, had tapped into an astonishing esoteric wisdom.

Could any of this be true?

The credibility of those claims deserves rational attention-which is what I intend to provide. Neither mystic nor prophet, I am a Mayanist. More specifically, I am a professional art historian and an epigrapher (less formally, a glypher), one who can read and write Maya hieroglyphs. For over a decade, I have focused my scholarly research specifically on Maya culture and writing, making some surprising discoveries that can present a more definitive perspective on the prophecies of the ancient Maya seers. As we approach the critical year, it is time to offer a more viable account of the Maya prophecy and expose both the fallacies and ethnocentricism tainting the current sensational accounts.

Here I intend to explain what we actually know about (1) Maya knowledge and attitudes, both ancient and modern, (2) the date 13.0.0.0.0. and (3) their many Creation stories and prophecies. I shall draw from recent decipherment, ethnography, interviews with Maya priests and knowledge-keepers, and especially from their surviving prophetic literature. That literature includes The Books of Chilam Balam, among others, the pre-Columbian Codices, and ancient inscriptions. The evidence is sometimes fragmentary and often puzzling to us moderns, at least at first. But I believe the effort will be worth it.

First, let me affirm that the year 2012 does hold particular significance in Mayan scholarship. Those of us who study the ancient and modern Maya — anthropologists, archaeologists, art historians, linguists, historians, amateurs, collectors — have been anticipating the end of the Maya Great Cycle for some time. We write it 13.0.0.0.0 4 Ajaw 3 K'ank'in. We have known for half a century that this date probably correlates to December 21 (or December 23) in the year 2012 in the Gregorian calendar.

The Mayan civilization predicted that on December 21, 2012 something will happen to the world we know. Something will happen that will change our civilization, value systems and the way we know human civilization forever.

What does that means? What did the Mayan see through their spiritual wisdom?

According to scientists and technologists something strange is happening behind the scene. The terrestrial and solar polar reversal peaks are coming within three weeks of that day, December 21, 2012. Innumerable UFOs are scouting our skies regularly and increasing as we approach that day. The tectonic plate shifts, underwater volcanoes, earthquakes, landslides and Tsunamis are increasing at rates never seen before. The solar flares are increasing. The earth’s magnetosphere and ionosphere are experiencing strange disturbances. The numbers of typhoons and cyclones have increased many folds. The number of floods and droughts has increased beyond imaginations in the last ten years.

Scientists who look beyond conventional science point out that that the Hyperspace that contain our Universe is also showing signs that something strange is happening in our universe. The multidimensional time research is showing that a parallel universe may be predicting strange effects.

According to some scientists it is possible that another Universe is slowly starting to claim a spatial dimension in our physical Universe. It is also possible that we will face major calamities because of the polar reversal in the Sun and in Earth. If that happens, it is possible that the hyperspace has to adjust the suction force known as gravity and Electromagnetic force fields to keep the earth and the solar system intact.

The biggest clue to what will happen comes from astrophysicists. There is a big possibility that the simultaneous polar reversal in earth and sun will throw the solar system out of whack. That will cause massive upheaval in the earth. At that point of time, the extraterrestrials will officially show up and put “cosmic seat belts” around us as they apply the superpower of the Hyperspace to bring the solar system back to what it is today.

According to think tanks, this has happened before. The extraterrestrials take care of the earth and the solar system whenever the solar system faces challenges like that.

Will the world end in 2012? No, it won't.

Will there be a major cataclysm in 2012? Quite possibly.

Although this book concentrates on a potential global catastrophe at a random date within our immediate future, the ancient Mayan Long Count calendar is a powerful argument for that date being Dec 21, 2012.

2. The Mayan Calendar

The Maya

The Maya civilisation inhabited a region encompassing southern Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Belize & western Honduras, and flourished between the third and tenth centuries AD, but by 1200 AD their society had collapsed for reasons we can only guess at. When the Spanish conquistadors arrived, descendants still occupied the area, and still spoke the Mayan language, but were unaware of the cities their forefathers had created.

It wasn't until the late 18^th century that explorers first investigated the dense Guatemalan rainforest and came across plazas, monoliths, temples and pyramids, each decorated with pictures and hieroglyphs. The ancient Maya had been keeping historical records - using a script which mixed ideographic and phonetic elements. Some of their writing still exists on stelae (stone monuments) that recount civil events and record their calendric and astronomical knowledge.

Spanish Conquest

Diego de Landa was a Spanish priest who visited Mexico on a charitable mission, became the Franciscan provincial of Yucatán in 1561 and is infamous for his destruction of priceless Maya documents and artefacts.

Although Landa was very interested in the Mayan culture, he abhorred certain aspects of their practices, particularly human sacrifice. In July 1562, when evidence of human sacrifice was found in a cave containing sacred Maya statues, a bout of religious self-righteousness saw Landa order the destruction of five thousand idols. He decided that their books were also the devil's work and saw to it that they were burned, with only three books surviving. Consequently the majority of Mayan knowledge and history was lost.

Yet despite his actions, we are also indebted to Landa for his acute and intelligent opus on Mayan life and religion, Relación de las cosas de Yucatán (1566), which remains the classical text on Mayan civilisation. This book, which was not printed until 1864, provided a phonetic alphabet that made it possible to decipher roughly one-third of the remaining Mayan hieroglyphs.

The most important of the surviving books was what is now called the Dresden Codex, named after the city where it was lodged. It is a strange book, inscribed with hieroglyphs, which no one understood until 1880. At that time Ernst FØrstemann, a German scholar who worked at the same Dresden library, managed to crack the code of the Mayan calendar making it possible for other academics to translate the many dated inscriptions found on buildings, stelae and other ancient Mayan artefacts.

He discovered that the Codex contained detailed astrological tables, which calculated the year to be 365.2420 days long, more accurate than the Julian calendar that we use today. The tables were used exclusively by the Mayan astronomers to predict the solstices and equinoxes, the path of the planets in our solar system, the cycles of Venus and Mars, and other celestial phenomena.

Other information we have today has been gleaned from the Popol Vuh and Chilam Balam - books written just after the Spanish arrived. The knowledge found in these books and codices, combined with the uncovering of mysterious pyramids, demonstrate that the Maya had knowledge to rival the Greeks and Egyptians.

Mayan Calendar

The life of the Maya revolved around the concept of time. Priests were consulted on civil, agricultural and religious matters, and their advice would be derived from readings of the sacred calendars. Time was of such importance that children were even named after the date on which they were born.

Maya math uses only three symbols - a shell-shaped glyph for zero, a dot for one and a bar for five to represent units from zero to 19. For instance, the number 13 was represented as three dots and two bars.

Zero was an advanced concept in those days, something that the Romans were not aware of. Yet the Maya were comfortable enough with it to use a shell as its symbol, a tangible object representing an abstract concept. The Maya also used metrical calculation and place numeration, which were very clever for a culture that didn't use the wheel!

Although they had many calendars, they marked the passage of time with three cycles that ran in parallel.

The first is the scared calendar known as the Tzolkin. It combines the numbers from 1 through 13 with a sequence of 20 day-names. It works in a similar manner to our named days of the week, and their date within each month. So you might have 5-Chikchan (like our Sunday the 5th) followed by 6-Kimi (as we would have Monday the 6th). After 260 days the same number/name combination will re-occur, and the calendar starts anew. Their use of the vigesimal (base 20) numbering system probably relates to fingers and toes, whereas the 13 nicely fits the growth phase of the moon which isn't visible when new and appears full for two days on end, thus appearing to have a 13 day growth cycle. Alternatively, the length of the Tzolkin may be related to the human gestation period of nine months (273 days). It has been suggested that 260 days is the time between a woman suspecting her pregnancy (she doesn't menstruate) and when she gives birth.

The second is the agricultural calendar known as the Haab, or vague year. It consists of 18 months, each of 20 days. An addition of a five-day month (a period of apprehension and bad luck named Uayeb) gives us 365 days, an approximation of a year. This calendar's primary purpose was to keep track of the seasons, for seasonal and solar events would occur on roughly the same day of each year. The Maya were aware of the annual quarter day discrepancy, but it is not known if they ever did anything about it.

These two independently running calendars each begin again every 260 and 360+5 days. However, every 52 years they coincide:

"The Tzolkin and the Haab ran concurrently, like intermeshed cog-wheels, and to return to any given date, 52 years, or 18,980 days, would have to elapse (because both 365 x 52 and 260 x 73 = 18,980). In other words, the Tzolkin would make 73 revolutions and the Haab 52, so that every 52 calendar years of 365 days one would return to the same date. A complete date in this 52-year cycle might be, for example, 2 1k 0 Pop (2 1k being the position of the day in the Tzolkin, 0 Pop the position in the Haab). Fifty-two years would pass before another 2 1k 0 Pop date returned.

It was expected that the world would end at the completion of a 52-year cycle. At this time, among the Mexica in the Valley of Mexico, all fires were extinguished, pregnant women were locked up lest they be turned into wild animals, children were pinched to keep them awake so that they would not turn into mice, and all pottery was broken in preparation for the end of the world. In the event the gods decided to grant man another 52 years of life on earth, however, a night time ceremony was held in which the populace followed the priests through the darkness over a causeway to the top of an old extinct volcano that rises abruptly from the floor of the basin of Mexico, known today as the Hill of the Star, the hill above Ixtapalapa. There, with all eyes on the stars, they awaited the passage of the Pleiades across the center of the heavens, which would announce the continuation of the world for another 52 years. When the precise moment came, a victim was quickly sacrificed by making a single gash in his chest and extracting the still palpitating heart. In the gory cavity the priests, with a fire drill, kindled a new flame that was quickly carried by torches across the lake to the temple in Tenochititlan, and from there to all temples and villages around the lake. This was known as the New Fire Ceremony among the Mexica, and in some way this same completion and renewal of each 52-year cycle was recognized by all Mesoamericans."

This is not unlike how the end of the last millennium may have felt for many Christians or doomsday cult followers.

Our modern Western calendar was first introduced in Europe in 1582. It was based upon the Gregorian calendar, which calculated the Earth's orbit to take 365.25 days. This was 0.0003 of a day per year too much, but still exceptionally accurate for scientists living over 400 years ago.

The Mayan calendars were derived from those of their predecessors, the Olmec, whose culture dates back at least 3,000 years. Without the instruments of 16^th century Europe, these Central American locals managed to calculate a solar year of 365.2420 days, just 0.0002 of a day short. More accurate than the Europeans, and much earlier. It is not known if the Olmecs created the Long Count calendar, or if they received it from an even earlier civilisation...

The Long Count

A Mayan date utilises three calendars. The third calendar, known as the "long count", is a continuous record of days that starts over every 5000 years or so. The current Long Count began in 3114 BC. And it will end very soon.

A typical Mayan date looks like this:

12.18.16.2.6, 3 Cimi 4 Zotz

4 Zotz is the Haab date.

3 Cimi is the Tzolkin date.

12.18.16.2.6 is the Long Count date.

The basic unit is the kin (day), which is the last component of the Long Count. Going from right to left the remaining components are:

· unial........1 unial = 20 kin = 20 days

· tun..........1 tun = 18 unial = 360 days = approx. 1 year

· katun.......1 katun = 20 tun = 7,200 days = approx. 20 years

· baktun.....1 baktun = 20 katun = 144,000 days = approx. 394 years

The kin, tun, and katun are numbered from 0 to 19.

The unial are numbered from 0 to 17.

The baktun are numbered from 1 to 13.

The Long Count is a great cycle of 13 baktuns (roughly 5,126 years), where the use of 13 may again represent the growth of the moon from new to full. The current cycle began on 13.0.0.0.0 4 Ahau 8 Cumku which correlates to Aug. 13, 3114 BC.

In Mayan mythology each Long Count cycle is a world age in which the gods attempt to create pious and subservient creatures.

The First Age began with the creation of the Earth, and it had upon it vegetation and living beings. Unfortunately, because they lacked speech, the birds and animals were unable to pay homage to the gods and were destroyed. In the Second and Third Ages the gods created humans of mud and then wood, but these also failed to please and were wiped out. We are currently in the Fourth and Final Age, the age of the modern, fully functional human. Is it possible that these Ages referred to evolutionary change? If they did, then what might occur when the current age finishes on December 21, 2012?

Note on massive spans of time

Although they are not part of the Long Count, the Mayas had calculated larger time spans, some so long that only modern day scientists would ever use them, and suggesting that perhaps the ancient Maya were aware of something we have yet to discover for ourselves.

This book uses a correlation between the Gregorian and Maya calendars known as the Goodman-Martinez-Thompson (GMT) correlation, which places the long count katun ending 11.16.0.0.0 13 Ahau 8 Xul on 14 November 1539 (Gregorian). Another less popular correlation has the Long Count ending two days later on Dec 23, 2012, and for our purposes makes a negligible difference. A further 50 or more different correlations have been calculated; some by non-academics, usually based on disputing which similar astronomical events occurred in which year. The GMT is generally accepted by academics because it has been proven with carbon dating, and because it is still in use by modern day Quich¾ Maya

The Long Count Calendar of the Ancient Mayans ends on Dec 21 2012. There isn't much information regarding what the Mayans thought would occur in 2012, but the consensus of opinion is that there will be great change. To some people this means a positive, spiritual change. Others, like myself, consider that a catastrophic event may have been predicted.
