Karanvir Bohra turns producer with Punjabi film.

TV actor Karanvir Bohra has ventured into film production with Punjabi film Love You Soniye. He says the Punjabi movie industry is poised for good growth and he is positive his project will reap good results.
"I realised that Punjabi cinema is doing so well right now. Just like southern cinema is number one among regional film industries, in the same way, Punjabi cinema is also growing strong. So, I think it's one of the most amazing steps that we have taken," Karanvir said here on Thursday at the first look launch of his Love You Soniye.
Besides producing the film, Karanvir has also acted in it. The film also features his wife Teejay Sidhu.

Karanvir says he was not sure about acting in a Punjabi film, but agreed to do so due to his wife.
"She (Teejay) has been insisting me to do Punjabi films and said, 'Trust me, do Punjabi (films), it is a phenomenal market'," said the actor, who was seen on TV cookery show, Welcome: Baazi Mehmaan Nawaazi Ki.
The actor admits he knows how to talk in Punjabi, but he wasn't sure of doing an entire film.
Meanwhile, Teejay said Love You Soniye is a fun film meant for youth. "In our film, all the youths are very talented and the USP of our film is that it is not a love based story... It is a fun and up-market film," she said.
Love You Soniye also features Raghu Ram of Roadies fame, actor Vindu Dara Singh and singer Harry Anand.

While excelling at VJing and anchoring comes naturally to Teejay Sidhu, she claims she's been "apprehensive" about acting.

Says Teejay, who was in Gujarat along with hubby Karanvir Bohra to shoot for the Punjabi film Love You Soniye, "Whether it's VJ-ing or anchoring, I know I can do it well. But I was scared of trying my hands at acting, although Karanvir had been insisting on it for a while. But now, I am ready and the fact that I am starring opposite my husband feels great. We are also producing this film. I feel the market for regional cinema hasn't been tapped to the fullest and I convinced Karanvir that we should produce a Punjabi movie. I am not interested in Bollywood and will be happy if I can become a big name in Punjabi cinema."

Talking about her equation with Karanvir, Teejay laughs, "At home, I am the boss. But on the sets, he is the boss because he is more experienced than me as an actor. Usually, if both people in a relationship are celebrities, men tend to get insecure. But Karanvir genuinely wants me to be more successful than him!"

Interestingly, Teejay also happens to be one of the youngest members of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Asked about her experiences, Teejay says, "I feel honoured to be a part of such a prestigious body, but I feel that there are certain things that need to change. Of late, people are finding the most trivial reasons to start protesting against a film! It's important to remember that the world has changed now and so, films are bound to follow the suit! We need to change our sensibilities. Today's youth is an aware lot and you can't have Victorian sensibilities to decide what they should watch!"

My wife enjoys my female fan following: Karanvir

When your wife asks for something just before Valentine's Day, saying no can never be an option. So, when Teejay Sidhu told Karanvir Bohra that she wanted him to produce a Punjabi film, Karanvir readily obliged.

Says this small-screen heartthrob, who is in Gujarat to shoot for the film titled Love You Soniye, "This was my Valentine's Day gift to Teejay! While I had my reservations, she convinced me about it and now, we are the lead pair for the film! My father (producer Mahendra Bohra) really loves Vadodara and I think shooting here will be fun. We will also remake the film in Gujarati. It's a youth-centric family entertainer and I am very confident about its content. Besides, I have a great fan base in Gujarat and that is why I decided to remake the film in Gujarati too. My dad is guiding us about production, and I feel there can't be a better person to talk to regarding the entire process!" He adds, "It's always fun to be in Gujarat and me and Teejay plan to be in Ahmedabad this year during Navratri."

While his portrayal of Viraj, a mean character, in Dil Se Di Dua...Saubhagyavati Bhava (went off-air recently) gave him immense popularity on the small screen, Karanvir says that he was very apprehensive before the show started, "I thought that people would hate me after watching this show but still, took up the challenge because I had waited for a long time to get a role like this. This show has taught me that if you are able to entertain the audience, then an actor's on-screen image hardly matters! A sequel to this show might soon be on the cards."
Karanvir, who also has a couple of B-Town projects in the pipeline, says that he would love to "play the brooding, angry young man" in the future. "Teejay says that I can do a very good job when it comes to looking angry!" he laughs.

Talking about his doting wife, Karanvir says, "I really respect Teejay because she understands me so well. Usually, women feel very insecure when they see their husband having several female fans. But my wife tells me that she enjoys the kind of female fan following that I have because the day it's not there means I am not doing my job well! She is always relaxed and we give each other a lot of space."

Bollywood has produced many Great and Intelligent Film Makers from the past 60 years from the like of Satyajit Ray, Hrishikesh Mukherjee, Ramesh Sippy, Yash Chopra, Mukul Anand and Many more the list is endless.

But, now it has been the era of youth the Gen – Next directors leaving behind the old topic of Love where Hero and Heroine are just roaming around tress in love songs and coming with some Intense and smartly written scripts.

Here are those five Directors who made some great impact on the Masses as well as on the Box Office in the year 2011…

1) Tigmanshu Dhulia

Always a fine writer, Dhulia showed off sparkling directorial flourishes in his Sahib Biwi Aur Gangster.

It is ambitious indeed to take on Guru Dutt's classic even if to just doff the hat, and Dhulia filled in his film with much greyness and a world of detailing.

The performances he coaxed out of Jimmy Shergill and Randeep Hooda were incredible.

2) Abhinay Deo

Overlooking Game, which few saw and most shouldn't have, Deo had quite a year with Delhi Belly, showing not just a great sense of pace and comic timing, but also wonderfully cheeky irreverence not often glimpsed in our cinema.

We'd had lads' films before, but this one enjoyed its vulgarity in grown up fashion even as its characters got increasingly juvenile.

3) Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK

The direct duo Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK debuted with a fantastically written and directed movie ’99’. Their second stint was much better and appreciated by all the critics and masses too..

A highly confident film that knows what it's doing even when painting in broadstrokes, Shor... gave us interesting characters, a peculiar Mumbai point of view, an aggressive use of music and a climax so rousing it's celebratory.

4) Imtiaz Ali

Much has been said about Ali's template of cinema -- of how his films continue to go on about innocent, smitten protagonists getting married to other people before realising how much they love each other -- but with this rock-infused take on Heer-Ranjha gave us a tremendously high-intensity romance with a leading man at the height of his powers.

His most earnest offering since his debut, Socha Na Tha, Rockstar isn't everybody's film.

But those who did fall in love with the film will remain more than grateful.

5) Amol Gupte

The man who is considered as an all-rounder a great actor with amazing writing skill and an intelligent Director.

Gupte almost directed Taare Zameen Par a couple of years ago, but it's one of those really good 'almosts' since hisStanley Ka Dabba this year proved to be a far more honest and raw film about schoolchildren.

Clearly adept at working with children, Gupte proved himself a master of evocative imagery as he built a world so wonderfully familiar to us all that it was hard not to get swept away by nostalgia.

Shot in natural light with a digital camera, this was the film of the year, small only in budget and inspirational to us all.

COCTAIL: Movie Review By Husain Thakur

Homi Adajania's directorial debut in Bollywood "Cocktail", co-produced by actor Saif Ali Khan, was released worldwide on Friday. It is a youth-oriented film starring Saif, Diana Penty and Deepika Padukone lead roles.
COCKTAIL is a beautiful film which captures a love triangle and relationships in best possible sense. The first half is all about the fun part of the relationship and second half goes on to essay the challenges one faces in love. There is no way that you can watch this movie straight faced. It will crack you up through the first half and keep you well engrossed throughout. Deepika Padukone has the sexiest and most awesome-st entries ever by any actress in any film. Diana Penty has proved her mettle and has successfully announced her debut. She is brilliant in the film and may sweep away all the Best Debutant Awards this year. Saif is as wonderful as ever and has done justice to the character of Gautam Kapoor in a way that probably no actor would. Boman Irani, Dimple Kapadia, Randeep Hooda all add up to the charm of the Film.

Dimple Kapadia is in terrific form, portraying the atypical North Indian lady with gusto. Boman Irani is first-rate, especially in sequences with Dimple. Randeep Hooda's character is under-nourished."
Saif and Deepika comfort level has certainly gone up in this movie, given the benefit that they had acted together in three films.
"On the whole, "Cocktail" has a fascinating first half, charismatic performances, harmonious music and the trendy look and styling as its aces, but the second half is not as tempting or intoxicating as the first hour. It pales when compared to the attention-grabbing first hour. Yet, all said and done, this one's primarily targeted at the Gen Next, especially those in metros, who might identify with the on-screen characters,"
Overall it’s a soulful romantic comedy… with good amount humor…
We will give ‘COCKTAIL’ 3 stars.

Kevi Rite Jaish?! - First Half - Super duper Awesome, Second Half - Slightly extended and Boring, Overall a very entertaining Watch. Lots of small messages to be picked up from the Movie, A must watch for people who are in a blind race of going to US for higher studies and a satire on the "We will help you go US" scam. Veronica Gautam - A very very pretty face and fairly goood acting, Divyang Thakker has weaved himself into the character of Harish bachhu bhai Patel. My heart goes out to all the Patels for the struggle they have to go through just in order to eventually get rejected for Visa and Losing Money. Watch it - **** Stars. :)

Pro tip: choosing “password” as your online password is not a good idea. In fact, unless you’re hoping to be an easy target for hackers, it’s the worst password you can possibly choose.

“Password” ranks first on password management application provider SplashData’s annual list of worst internet passwords, which are ordered by how common they are. (“Passw0rd,” with a numeral zero, isn’t much smarter, ranking 18th on the list.)

The list is somewhat predictable: Sequences of adjacent numbers or letters on the keyboard, such as “qwerty” and “123456,” and popular names, such as “ashley” and “michael,” all are common choices. Other common choices, such as “monkey” and “shadow,” are harder to explain.

As some websites have begun to require passwords to include both numbers and letters, it makes sense varied choices, such as “abc123″ and “trustno1,” are popular choices.

SplashData created the rankings based on millions of stolen passwords posted online by hackers. Here is the complete list:

SplashData CEO Morgan Slain urges businesses and consumers using any password on the list to change them immediately.

“Hackers can easily break into many accounts just by repeatedly trying common passwords,” Slain says. “Even though people are encouraged to select secure, strong passwords, many people continue to choose weak, easy-to-guess ones, placing themselves at risk from fraud and identity theft.”

The company provided some tips for choosing secure passwords in a statement:

1. Vary different types of characters in your passwords; include numbers, letters and special characters when possible.
2. Choose passwords of eight characters or more. Separate short words with spaces or underscores.
3. Don’t use the same password and username combination for multiple websites. Use an online password manager to keep track of your different accounts.
