Our first Octopus sale on Etsy!!!

2013-01-02T17:44:00.000-08:00

Well we sold our first heady Octopus on etsy! We wanted to take pictures for our customer so I decided to blog them here.
Joe spent 3 days making this piece to perfection. It never cracked and he put extra suction cups on! I think he kiln struck out Double Amber Purple really well.

Nate Dark and The Chicago Project

2012-11-04T17:59:00.000-08:00

When I attended the Glass Roots Trade show in Madison, Wisconsin I learned about the Chicago Project.
http://www.facebook.com/ChicagoProject - facebook page
This non profit organization was great to learn about. Once I saw the artwork that was donated for the auction I immediately bid on something. I ended up winning the Nathaniel Dark Octopus Chillum mentioned in the latest flow magazine.

CalM Glass Art

2012-10-01T10:19:00.001-07:00

And again, I am back with another of one of my favorites from the Glass Roots Trade Show. CalM is an amazing artist and I enjoyed all of his art. Especially his owls!! Here are his pictures from the show. You can also find him here:
http://www.glasspipes.org/CalM

Immediately walking up to his table I see the Collab piece he made with Adam G, then I peer over and see these beautiful purple pieces. They reminded me of the color slyme but in purple. It seemed to have the same effect on me as the slyme color does. I love it and all of his work. I was blown away by every piece on his table.

Zach Puchowitz

2012-09-29T23:25:00.001-07:00

I just came back from the Grass Roots Art Show in Madison, Wisconsin. Of all the festivals I've gone to, concerts, art and craft shows, this was the fucking icing on the cake. I had an amazing time and saw some of the most awesome glass....EVER! Here's the website so you can go next year:
http://glassrootsartshow.com/ and of course while I'm doing my links, buy our glass here:
http://www.etsy.com/shop/LoudActions

So on to Zach Puchowitz. As I walked around to all the booths and all the glass, this is the artist who caught my eye the most. I mean I saw glass by Freeek, Salt, Calm, Adam G, Eusheen, Micro, Capt'n Crunk, Saki Bomb, Carver B, and the list just goes on and on. Zach's booth was as innovative as his glass. Every time I walked by his work I couldn't help but rubber neck it the whole time.

You can find his website and work here:
http://ouchkick.com/

Glass Pipes profile here:
http://www.glasspipes.org/ZachPuchowitz

Reading books with his work and seeing his work online is nothing compared to what it is in person. I tried to take as many pictures as I could without seeming like a mega stalker. Zach if you ever get the chance to read this, I'm a huge fan of your work!! I mean this in the most non creepy way possible. Just try to nevermind the 47 pictures I took and blog I'm writing, and how I can't stop myself from being a owl eyed onlooker when it comes to your glass, but your work is incredible!

Even the banner is art!

I really, really want this!

The only edited picture, it went with the glass caption

Holy mind blow! I love this color!

I will be doing more blogs with the Glass Roots show plus some rad videos! So keep checking back and remember to support American Made Glass Art!

Jewelry by Kendra

2012-09-24T00:13:00.000-07:00

I've been making jewelry for a few years now. At first I played around for fun making unique pieces of jewelry that stood out or were off beat. Now I've found more of my flow, my style. When I make jewelry I get lost in world of color, patterns, and new ideas. I never have a plan, only an idea. I make my jewelry only while letting go of all my problems, bills, worry, and life stresses. I have a strong passion for jewelry and gemstones. I enjoy life most when I am creating. This is one of my latest creations. This necklace is made from Yellow/Green Jade Donut Pendant Beads. There is 3 of them throughout this necklace!!! I also used White Jade, Faceted Green Jade, Yellow Jade, Yellow Serpentine, Green Czech Glass, glass seed beads, and my favorite stone, Tourmaline. The necklace measures 49 inches and ways you can wear it are endless!! Every time I play with the necklace I find a new way to wear it. With the pictures you can see some of the ideas I have come up with when playing with the piece.

Available for sale here:
