Dear Students,

Subject: Modified Practical Training Scheme

All the students registered to the intermediate course of the Institute on or after 1st January 2008, are to undergo practical training/ employment of at least 6 months as on 30/9/2013, to become eligible to appear for December final examination.

The students who could not complete training or employment of at least 6 months but are desirous of appearing for Final Examination of the Institute in Dec 2013, shall enroll for I-CMA Training (I-CMAT) module of the Institute at least complete 100 hours of Training to make an application to appear in the final examinations, by filing online Form T-6. The Institute has made arrangements for imparting 100 hours I-CMAT training to the students who have registered for I-CMAT Training module.

To avail this training student has to pay fees of Rs. 3000/- in form of Demand Draft in favor of Institute of Cost Accountants of India payable at New Delhi and apply through online mode.

For detailed guidelines and for filing on-line application to enroll for I-CMAT Module, please visit the website of the Institute at www.icmai.in

The closing date or submitting online Form is extended to 4th September 2013 for Dec 2013 final Exam.

Before filling the on-line form, please obtain a Demand Draft for Rs.3000/ drawn in favour of “The Institute of Cost Accountants of India” payable at New Delhi.

Please check and fill all the fields including e-mail id very carefully before submitting the form. No changes will be allowed after submitting the form.

The students after filling T-6, need to take print out of the same and send it to The Director (T&P), Institute of Cost Accountants of India, 4th floor, CMA Bhawan, 3, Instit utional Area, Lodhi Road, New Delhi -110003 along with DD.

If the application not received with DD, the on-line application will not be considered as good. Please indicate your mobile number, new Registration number and your name on the back side of the Demand Draft.

Procedure for obtaining Certified copy of Answer Scripts- June 2013 Exams

PROCEDURE FOR APPLYING FOR CERTIFIED PHOTOCOPIES OF EVALUATED ANSWER SCRIPTS FOR THE EXAMINEES OF THE INSTITUTE OF COST ACCOUNTANTS OF INDIA

1. APPLICABILITY :
The procedure detailed below will be applicable from the June 2013 Examination onwards and the certified photocopies of the answer scripts would be provided only to the concerned examinee of this Institute.

2. PROCEDURE :
An examinee can apply for obtaining his/her certified evaluated answer scripts in the prescribed format given in Annexure – 1.

3. FEES :

All the applications must be accompanied with a Demand Draft of Rs. 500/- per paper payable at Kolkata drawn in favour of “THE INSTITUTE OF COST ACCOUNTANTS OF INDIA”.

4. TIME LIMIT FOR APPLICATION :

The application along with the prescribed fees should reach the Institute positively within Sixty (60) days from the date of declaration of results of the concerned examination.

5. ADDRESS FOR SENDING THE APPLICATION :

All the applications for obtaining the photocopy of the evaluated answer scripts should be sent in a sealed envelope clearly mentioning “ Application for Obtaining Photo copy of the Evaluated answer scripts” on the top of the envelope and should be send to the following address only

Certified copies of the answer scripts will be generally sent within 30 days from the date of receipt of application.

The certified answer scripts obtained by a particular examinee shall be exclusively for his/her academic guidance only and not for any other purpose.

If an examinee also applies for Verification of Marks as per the rules of the Institute, the photo copy of the answer scripts will be provided only after the verification process is completed.

Hold jointly workshops, seminars, continuing education and training programs for practicing professionals and corporate executives on themes of topical and professional interest on equal surplus / deficit sharing basis.
Regularly exchange Journals published by the parties hereto on a complimentary basis, with liberty to reproduce in each other's publications such portion which may be of interest subject to acknowledging the source.
Regularly exchange course materials, case studies, research publications and other academic and research inputs.
Undertake joint research projects which are mutually beneficial.
Reciprocate participation in National and International conferences organized by the parties hereto.
Extend help and co-operation in developing curriculum of academic and continuing education programs, on such terms as may be mutually agreed to, including Joint Meeting of Curriculum Development Committees.
Develop jointly study material under Distance Education Program, on such terms as may be mutually decided.
CMJ University to recognize membership of the ICAI, as equivalent to Masters Degree for the purpose of pursuing Ph. D in commerce and allied disciplines.
ICAI agrees to open its Representative Office at the Campus of CMJ University for the enrolment of students for Cost Accountancy Course and to provide other services to students of ICAI including setting up of Study Centre.
Exchange of faculties as may be mutually agreed to subject to convenience of the parties thereto.
Organize program jointly for training the trainers for mutual benefit and advantage.
Any other matter of mutual interest including sharing of facilities like infrastructure, library, reading room etc. as may be mutually agreed.

Subject:- Certification of various documents by Cost Accountants under Handbook of Procedure Vol.I and Appendices under Foreign Trade Policy.

In exercise of powers conferred under Para 2.4 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2009-14, the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby makes the following amendments in the Handbook of Procedure Vol.I and Appendices 2009-2014 in public interest:

1. Wherever the term "Chartered Accountant" appears, it would deem to mean and include "Cost Accountant" also. Similarly, wherever the term "FCA" has been used in respect of a Chartered Accountant, it would deem to mean and include the term "FCMA" in respect of a Cost Accountant.

2. The words "CA Number" shall be substituted to read as "Membership Number".

3. The words "Cost and Works Accountant" shall be substituted to read as "Cost Accountant".

Effect of this Public Notice:- Under the EXIM Policy and Procedure, wherever certification by a Chartered Accountant was required, the exporters would be able to get certification done by a Cost Accountant also.

On 3rd October 2012 the Election Commission of India had notified the schedule of Gujarat State Assembly Elections, 2012.
The notification had stated that there will be 2 (Two) phases of Assembly Elections for Gujarat State Assembly Election
2012. For the first phase, the date of polling will be 13.12.2012 (Thursday) and the 2nd phase polling will be held on
17.12.2012 (Monday).

CLARIFICATION

Sub: Applicability of Revised Schedule VI from Examinations to be held in December 2012 and onwards
The Directorate had been receiving enquiries relating to applicability of Revised Schedule VI in Examinations of the Institute to be held in December 2012. All concerned were informed that the same would be applicable. It is observed that there is some confusion which has aroused due to some clarifications provided earlier.

Hence, it is stated for general information that the Revised Schedule VI shall be applicable from December 2012 Examination onwards (until further notification/clarification on this issue) of the Institute for the following papers:

Group I: Paper 5: Financial Accounting (already uploaded in website)
Group IV: Paper 16: Advanced Financial Accounting & Reporting (to be uploaded by 19th October, 2012)

Students are advised to visit the website of the Institute under "Students-download" section for making reference to "Additional Reading Materials on Revised Schedule VI" (check website from 19th October,2012) and "Revisionary Test Paper – for December 2012 Examination"

(a) Application Forms for Foundation Course, Intermediate and Final Examinations are available from Institute’s Headquarters at 12, Sudder Street, Kolkata, Regional Councils and Chapters of the Institute on payment of `50/- per form. In case of overseas candidates, forms are available at Institute’s Headquarters only on payment of US $ 10 per form.
(b) Students can also download the Examination Form from ICWAI Website at www.icwai.org. In case of downloaded form `50/- should be added extra towards the cost of the form.
(c) Students can also submit the form online.
Last date for receipt of Examination Application Forms without late fees is 10th October, 2012 and with late fees of `300/- is 20th October, 2012.
Examination fees to be paid through Bank Demand Draft of requisite fees drawn in favour of “The Institute of Cost Accountants of India” and payable at Kolkata.
Students may submit their Examination Application Forms along with the fees at ICAI, 12 Sudder Street, Kolkata – 700016 or Regional Offices or Chapter Offices. Any query can be sent to Sr. Director (Examination) at H. Q.
Finance Act 2011, involving Assessment Year 2012-2013 will be applicable for the subjects Applied Direct Taxation (Intermediate), Applied Indirect Taxation (Intermediate) and Indirect & Direct – Tax Management (Final) for the purpose of December 2012 term of Examination under Revised Syllabus 2008.

Finance Act, 2011 involving assessment year 2012-13 will be applicable for the subjects Applied Direct Taxation (Intermediate), Applied Indirect Taxation (Intermediate) and Indirect and Direct Tax Management (Final) for the purpose of December - 2012 term of examination under Revised syllabus 2008.
Cost accounting Record Rules 2011, Cost Audit Report Rules 2011, CAS 1-14 will also be applicable for Paper-17 (Cost audit and Operational Audit)for Dec-2012 exam. Pursuant to the decision taken by 271st council meeting held on 24th September

2011, the Practical Training scheme for the students registered under Revised

Syllabus 2008 (Registered for Intermediate course on or after 01.0 1.2008), stands

modified to the extent as mentioned below:

A student having registered for Practical Training under Revised Syllabus 2008,unless exempted from taking this training, must register as a Trainee with a principal or an employer, as referred to in the scheme of Practical Training, for a period of at least one year of Training and must have completed at least 6 (six) moths of Training under an eligible employer for being eligible to make application for appearing in the Final Examination. This Period of 6 (Six) months as referred to herein, should be completed by 31st march or 30th September for the following June and December Term of examination respectively. The period of practical Training shall include the period covering from the date of commencement till the date of completion of such training. In case of change of Principal/Employer, i.e. student serving under different Principal/Employers, the accumulated period of Training shall included training periods undergone with different Principal/employers, including the days of leave availed as per rules but excluding excess leave availed, if any.

This scheme of completion of at least 6 (six) months of Training, having registered for training of one year would come into force from December 2013 term of examination onwards.
