“Keeping up with the Kardashians” star Khloe Kardashian and her NBA boo Tristan Thompson are reportedly expecting a baby boy.

According to People, the couple who have been dating since September 2016 are expecting the child early next year.

Although this is Khloe’s first child, Tristan already has a 10-month old son Prince Oliver from his relationship with his ex-girlfriend Jordan Craig.

An inside source told People:

Yes, Khloé and Tristan are expecting and they are absolutely thrilled. This isn’t something they were in a rush to announce to the whole world, and it’s only been in just the past week or so that they’ve felt comfortable telling most of their inner circle.

This is something Khloé has wanted for years and years and yet it’s more than that: She didn’t want it unless she was in the right relationship for it. She never let it happen with Lamar, intentionally, and she never considered it with James or French or anyone else she has seen.

But this is such a wonderful moment for her: not only is she going to be a mother, she is going to be raising a child with a man she truly loves. Everyone is over the moon for them both.

Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital names Hostel after Late Dr. Adadevoh

The Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, Bayero University, Kano State, has honoured the late Dr. Stella Ameyo Adadevoh.

The teaching hospital has named one of its College of Health Sciences female hostel after the late doctor, who gave her life to stop the spread of ebola in Nigeria.

Dr. Adadevoh’s trust made the announcement on Instagram, writing:

FG to turn Fela’s House to Museum

The Federal Government has revealed plans to turn the ancestral home of afrobeat legend and activist Fela Anikulapo-Kuti into a museum.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, said this while visiting the musician’s ancestral home in Ogun State, along with Governor Ibikunle Amosun.

Mohammed said Fela will be immortalised by turning the house located on NEPA Road, Isabo, Abeokuta, into a museum.

The museum will be inaugurated “very soon, probably next year,” he said, describing the plan as laudable and admirable. He said:

It is laudable in the sense that this is one of the most positive steps to actually put our rhetorics into action.

We have always said that one of the important assets we have is our cultural heritage, our history and this project, which is going to immortalise the Ransome-Kuti family, is laudable and admirable.

The family, as you know, represent different things to different people, whether you talk about education, emancipation, music or entertainment.

Therefore, this attempt by the government at immortalising the family by preserving and restoring the ancestral home is very commendable.

This is the period we are celebrating the 20th anniversary of the death of the maestro himself and I am sure this is within time, as the museum will be inaugurated very soon, probably next year.

The emphasis of this government, whether state or federal, is that the creative industry must be turned into creative economy and this centre is going to be a good model to encourage and inspire the youth.

Amosun described Fela as someone who was ahead of his time.

The Kuti family conquered the world, he said, not just Ogun State or Nigeria. He said:

All our icons have a special place in our administration. These are the people who define us, when we go out there and say we are from Ogun State. We can’t call ourselves who we say we are without those giants who lived before us. They laid the foundation that we are all building upon.

And, clearly, the Kuti family is one of those illustrious families that conquered the world, not only Ogun Sate or Abeokuta or Nigeria . Indeed, at times when I am away in the US and I take a cab, the music I hear is that of great Fela himself.

Fela was far ahead of his time. For us, it will be in our interest to let people know his origin, his root.

Nigerian lady who was once a heavy bleacher reveals why she stopped

Nigerian makeup artist, Tennycoco who started bleaching at the age of 19 has revealed why she stopped and also advised ladies to love their skin the way God has made it.

She shared the above before and after photo and wrote;

“My Road to Melanin

At the age of 19, I started lightening my skin….. By the time I was 20, I had become a heavy Skin bleacher… at the time it felt almost normal, I felt like I looked more attractive….. it became an addiction, I just couldn’t stop. I craved so much to be lighter.. I felt being black wasn’t beautiful enough. What a stupid way to have thought… I guess the society we live in played a little role in my decision to bleach my skin… coupled with being very Naive at that age. It’s widely perceived that the lighter you are, the more beautiful you look. To be honest I always knew it was a bad thing… I mean, I had seen loads of people with ridiculously damaged skin courtesy the effects of bleaching but I was just so deep into it… like I said it’s actually an addiction.

As my 25th birthday started approaching I started to do a lot of Soul searching, a lot of self evaluation… concerning every area of my life and I finally started to see the light… to see how crazy I had been all these years… how crazy it was for me to have believed that my black skin wasn’t beautiful, to have allowed myself to feel inadequate or to try and tell God ‘ how you created me isn’t good enough’ what a silly, crazy way to have lived. Today I’m more than grateful that I finally saw the light. Black is beautiful! So beautiful! Never have I ever felt as beautiful and as at peace with my skin tone as I do now… Please Love your skin/Yourself the way God has made you…. you are beautiful, you are enough.

Time will always tell… imagine how I would look 10-15 years from now if I had continued to bleach my skin. Please don’t do it… I did it and I Had/ have so much Regret… it’s not worth it. You are beautiful just as you are.

Joshua Tabiti, 31, has told operatives of the Zonal Intervention Squad, (ZIS) Onikan, Lagos State, that he couldn’t stop stealing and robbery, even if his life depended on it.

He said that he had been stealing right from his childhood. Three other members of the gang, arrested along with him are Oluseye Arokoyo (34), Ahmed Alli (24) and Moses Ofoke (31), receiver of the stolen vehicles.

Tabiti said: “I have done everything to stop stealing, but I couldn’t. My parents also tried their best, but I cannot do away with robbery. I was sacked where I worked as a driver after I stole my boss’ money.”

The suspect and his gang members were said to have stolen about 26 Toyota Camry cars from Oworoshoki, Bariga and Somolu areas of Lagos metropolis.

He said: “I’m a driver with two children.

I started doing this job after I was sacked where I worked as a driver at Victoria Island. My friend introduced me to this job in 2017. I have stolen 11 vehicles in Oworonshoki, Bariga and Somolu in Lagos. What we do is to go out around 2 a.m.

A man cuts a master key for us to steal Toyota cars. We open the cars and kick-start the ignitions. We don’t rob at gunpoint. We got the key for N1000 or N2000. After stealing, we send the cars to Ondo to two buyers.

The first car we stole was a Nissan salon. We sold it for N100, 000, the other; a Toyota Camry was sold for N200, 000. Others were sold for N300, 000. We usually share the money after selling the cars. I used my own money to rent a house and bought household items.”

Governor Fayose escapes death as fire engulfs his G-Wagon in Oshodi

A white Mercedes Benz G-Wagon belonging to Governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose, was on Tuesday completely burnt down on the Oshodi-Oworonshoki expressway in Lagos.

Confirming the incident, Fayose’s spokesman, Lere Olayinka said the SUV caught fire on the motion but the Governor was not in the vehicle.

“No casualty recorded. Cause of the fire not ascertained yet.

“There was an accident involving the governor’s vehicle on his way to the airport yesterday. Though he was meant to be in the vehicle, by providence, he was not there.

“What caused the sudden fire under the vehicle is yet to be ascertained,” Olayinka told New Telegraph in a telephone chat.

BREAKING: Boko Haram slaughters 42 farmers in Kebbi

No fewer than 42 farmers from Aliero town, in Aliero Local Government Area of Kebbi State have reportedly been slaughtered by suspected dislodged members of the Boko Haram terrorists.

The terrorists were reported to have fled Borno State while escaping from the war zone areas.

Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu who confirmed this, on Wednesday, while addressing World Health Organization (WHO) delegates, said the victims went to Borno State for farming before they were murdered.

The WHO delegation had visited Kebbi on a courtesy visit.

Governor Bagudu says, “Just last week I was informed by one of my Commissioner that 42 farmers who are from Aliero were slaughtered by Boko Haram in Borno.

“They allowed one of them to come home free to say what happened to them”.

Governor Bagudu added that over 7,000 displaced Nigerians, who crossed over to Niger Republic, were recently re-deported to Kebbi State thereby compounding the challenges faced by the State.

While acknowledging low immunisation of children against diseases in the state, Governor Bagudu said the influx of children from Benin and Niger Republics including IDPs camps in the state, posed great threat to success of the exercise.

Speaking earlier, representative of WHO in Nigeria, Dr. Wondimagegnehu Alenu, told Governor Bagudu they had discovered that there was low immunisation in the state.

He stressed that there was need for government to embark on routine immunisation of children against diseases.

FRSC intercepts suspected human traffickers in Kaduna, rescues 44 minors

The Kaduna State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) says it has intercepted two suspected human traffickers and rescued 44 minors in Kaduna.

The Sector Commander, Malam Umar Ibrahim, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kaduna on Thursday that the suspects, a driver and one other adult were arrested on Wednesday on Kaduna – Zaria Expressway.

According to him, the suspects were arrested by FRSC patrol team led by Assistant Route Commander Audu Usman, when he stopped a Fiat Bus (J5) with registration number XC 532 ZAR for overloading.

“Our patrol men along Kaduna – Zaria expressway, around 3 p.m. on Wednesday, stopped a white and blue colour fiat bus popularly known as J5 for overloading.

“On checking to see what the bus was loaded with, our men discovered it was stuffed with 44 minors and one other adult.

“When asked, the driver, one Dauda Ezekiel of Gubuchi Village , Makarfi Local Government Area of the State, said he was hired to transport the occupant to an unidentified location.

“But the other adult claimed they were going for a church programme.

“Our men became suspicious and immediately impounded the vehicle and booked the driver for overloading and speed limit device violation,” he added.

Ibrahim said he later alerted the Commissioner of Police, Kaduna State Command, and handed over the vehicle and the suspects for further investigation. (NAN)

The dream of every entrepreneur is for their start-up to run like a fully formed company. Instead of being a fledgling company founder struggling to get investments, you become the CEO, managing a large group of employees, not just a few brilliant minds.

According to Randy Komisar, lecturer on entrepreneurship at Stanford University and partner at a venture capital firm, the most difficult task in the life of an entrepreneur is to manage a team effectively. “One of the hardest things for entrepreneurs to learn is that most of the time, the best thing they can do is get out of the way of the people actually doing the work,” he says.

Managing tech startups for example, is becoming more of an ‘operating function’; this can be compared to ‘Finance and Sales’, which are set up to serve the employees who are doing the technically and creatively skilled work. “You’ve heard of software as a service? This is management as a service,” says Komisar. “Managers serve the people doing the work. And nobody is more important in an organization than the people doing the work.“

To serve your team better, you need to help resolve issues affecting their workflow. Here are some tips on how you can be a minimally invasive manager:

Stop being cheap and employ the best

In building an excellent team, you need to hire the best. “If you hire badly, you’ll spend most of your time as a manager dealing with personnel issues and you will find that 75 percent of your time is dealing with problems” says Komisar. However, most entrepreneurs hire poorly skilled people with little or no qualification for an ‘expert’ job position in order to cut costs. They often forget the far-reaching consequences of this misadventure. Employing the best means you can invest more time on issues like strategy, innovation, and goal-setting. The first step to a minimally invasive management style, is to find people who do not need a boss to make them work. Employ skilled people who can work hard with less supervision and are passionate about their job.

Be keen on serving the people on your team

When you’ve hired the best team, it’s time to help develop and serve them. Give people clear priorities and communicate transparently about what’s going on in the organization, why and the role each employee would play. “It’s about taking individuals and making them 10 percent or 20 percent or 50 percent better than they ever thought they could be” Komisar writes.

Kick out the rotten eggs

Keeping a bad employee will negatively affect the entire team. As your business evolves, so will jobs and roles and not all of your employees will keep up. “There are high costs to getting rid of a B player if they have the competence to be a B+ or even an A player. But if they don’t, you need to resolve that quickly,” said Komisar. “Organizations regress to the mean. If you have a bunch of B players that are not advancing, your organization will start to regress to their level” he continues.

With these points in mind, the manager must also lead by example at all times; the best team in the world cannot make up for bad leadership.

Sex starved woman drags parents to court

A 20- year-old Zimbabwean woman has dragged her parents to court for barring her from staying with her husband.

According to her, her parents were infringing on her right to have sex with her husband.

The parents are arguing that their daughter’s husband has not paid lobola (a bride price, usually paid with cattle).

Spiwe Kwenda(20), of Mutiti Village, surprised all and sundry when she dragged her parents to court for interfering with her marriage, ZimNews reports.

Kwenda told Buhera Magistrate Dennis Mangosi that her parents, Ian Kwenda and Violent Dhuvadhuve, were disrupting her marriage by forcing her to come back home.

She further argued she was being deprived of her right to have sex with her husband.

“The two are disturbing my marriage which is very bad. My mother confiscated my clothes and refused to hand them back to me,” said Spiwe.

Dhuvadhuve however argued that Spiwe ran away from home without informing her parents.

“We want our daughter to return home because her husband has never paid us even a single cent. We want her husband to pay lobola. We want three beasts from her husband,” said Dhuvadhuve.

Magistrate Mangosi is said to have granted the woman a peace order.

Kwara State bans strip clubs & nude parties in hotels

Kwara State House of Assembly on Wednesday announced the prohibition of strip clubs or nude parties in all government and privately-owned hotels operating in the state.

The assembly had at a previous plenary drilled the management of Kwara Hotel and operators of eight other hotels over allegation of operating strip clubs, Vanguard reports.

The assembly gave the order in its resolution after adopting a motion entitled: “Banning Nude Parties in Hotels in Kwara’’ moved by the House Leader, Hassan Oyeleke (APC, Esa Sawo).

The Speaker, Ali Ahmad, while reading the resolution of the House on the motion, directed all hoteliers in the state to desist from organising such clubs. He added that hoteliers should acquire Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) sets to monitor activities in their hotels.

He also said the implementation of operation “Show Your Identification Cards’’ by hoteliers and lodgers should be implemented by the state Hospitality and Tourism Development Board to ensure sanity.

He added that the state government will empower relevant agencies to carry out periodic supervision of the activities in all existing hotels in the state as a way of checkmating the unholy acts.

He said that all hotels in the state should register with the Association of Hotel Owners for proper monitoring of their activities.

DMX is getting a little restless while on house arrest. The rapper wants leave the confines of his home to travel for guest appearances, but a judge has denied his request because he didn’t ask for permission early enough, the NY Daily News reports.

The court mandated that DMX make a travel request at least one week in advance, but DMX’s lawyer, Murray Richman, submitted a letter to a federal court, asking to approve DMX’s trips to Atlanta, Vegas, Philly and L.A. on Monday (Aug. 14), only four days before his most recent appearance, says TMZ.

“At the hearing on August 11, neither defendant nor his counsel made any application to travel to Atlanta on August 17, nor was any further mention of it made to the Court until the letter filed late yesterday afternoon,” Federal Judge Jed Rakoff wrote in a letter on Tuesday (Aug. 15). “Surely the defendant knows by now that the Court will strictly enforce the terms of his pre-trial release. Accordingly, the Court hereby denies leave for defendant to travel to Atlanta on August 17.”

He was placed on house arrest earlier this month after violating the conditions of his bail in relation to his tax-evasion case. Shortly afterward, the rapper failed four drug tests. While X’s probation officers reportedly want Rakoff to deny the rest of his travel plans because they will interfere with his current drug program, DMX says he needs to make the other gigs so he can feed his 15 kids.

It looks like DMX won’t be making his way down to the ATL this week for a BET appearance, but his legal team hopes the judge will grant him permission to go to the three other cities on his list.

“We will see how it works out — he didn’t deny us entirely,” Richman said. “He wants Mr. Simmons to have some kind of outpatient program, and he’s trying to find the proper program.”

The female Corps member who was trapped for several hours during the Sunday building collapse in Owerri, the Imo state capital, Ngozi Blessing Oformezie has been reported dead.

According to an update by journalist cum social commentator, Chidiebube Okeoma, Ngozi Blessing Oformezie died at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital, Rivers State, where she was rushed to for further medical observation when her condition deteriorated.

Her kidneys were affected as she was having urinary problem.

Her demise brings the casualty figure to six.

Ngozi Blessing Oformezie studied adult education from University of Nigeria, Nsukka. She was from Anambra state.

Chidiebube said about her death:

I still recall what she told me when I visited her in the hospital.

Groaning with pains she said “my name is Ngozi Blessing. I studied adult education from University of Nigeria, Nsukka. I am from Anambra state. My legs are killing me. Please don’t go. Jesus help me “.

My heart is heavy. I am saddened.

If it took eight hours for trapped people to be rescued in the state capital, what will happen when it happens in the villages?

Outspoken Nigerian musician, Charles Oputa, popularly called Charly Boy, has called his colleague, Tuface Idibia, and challenged him to speak out and join the clamour for better governance.

The 66-year-old singer made the call in a new video, which he posted on Instagram on Wednesday night. This is coming after he and members of his group were assaulted at Wuse market in Abuja and the #ResumeOrResign ‎protest suspended.

The protesters are demanding the immediate resumption of President Muhammadu Buhari to office or his resignation.

2face had earlier organised the #IStandWithNigeriaprotest in February but pulled out in the last minute due to police reports that hoodlums were planning to hijack the protest. The protest however, still held in major cities across the country.

In the video, Charly Boy said:

Amara revealed on her Facebook page some days ago that their two-year-old marriage has packed up and that they are getting their divorce papers in October this year. Three drown, 5 missing while taking selfies in India

Police on Monday said three men died and five remain missing after their boat capsized in a river in central India while they were taking selfies and videos for social media.

The police said the accident occurred on Sunday evening when a group of 10 men, between 21 and 28 years, were out on a fishing boat on the Vena river near the city of Nagpur.

Area police chief Chandrashekhar Bahadure said the boatman rescued two men and three bodies were fished out Monday afternoon.

“During initial investigations, we found that the group was busy taking videos and selfies on the boat that is suspected to have caused the tragedy,” Bahadure said.

“Survivors say the boat lost balance and overturned when a number of men came to one side to pose for either selfies or videos.

“The men had also posted a video on Facebook minutes before the boat tipped over,” he said.

Police said divers and national disaster response force personnel were assisting in the rescue but it was unlikely there would be survivors.

India has had the highest number of selfie-related deaths, according to new research.

A study by Carnegie Mellon University found that between March 2014 and September 2016, 60 per cent of the 127 “selfie deaths” across the world, occurred in India.

In 2016, police in Mumbai created 16 “no-selfie zones” after a university student fell into the sea and drowned while taking a photo of herself with her phone.
