During a recent trip to Central Market, I passed by the most beautiful fruit and vegetables. If only I had my Nikon with me. But as you can see my camera phone did just fine.

What I would recommend to anyone looking to add color to a kitchen, breakfast nook, or dining area. Try this.

All these were taken by me. If I can do this, anyone could. Add some special effects via your photo editing program and up the look even more.

Today makes it 15 years off being happily married to my first love. What a blessing it is to have found love at 15 years old, and maintaining that love with the addition of two beautiful children. When I am down, anxious, or uncertain…It is you that reminds me who to look and trust. I thank you for that always, and look forward to 60 more years!

Domino Magazine- Special Edition

Well, our favorite shelter magazine was brought back to life via a special edition issue. I honestly forgot it was hitting the stands until I bumped into it at Barnes & Nobles yesterday. Seeing it brought an immediate rush of glee, and excitement came over me. I don’t think I even questioned my purchase. I grabbed it, a few oatmeal cookies for my guy, and out we went.

Once we got home, and I had time to really look at the magazine. I realized it was not the “old domino” that we were all sad to see leave. This issue was $10.99 for 128 pages. Unfortunately there are repeats of images from previous issues. I think at $10.99 we should be getting something FRESH & NEW throughout. I almost feel as though the publishers are aware how we all feel about DOMINO, and decided to put a for sure money maker on the stands. They are aware that we as shelter magazine lovers feel the void of DOMINO, and would just be happy to see it resurrected. Although that is true, the meat of this special DOMINO sandwich DID NOT FILL ME UP. Don’t get me wrong. The images are great, and its splashed with color and concept..but it’s just not the DOMINO that we all know. The last page notes a second issue coming out in September. I am crossing my fingers in hope that things improve. I love you DOMINO, but you can do BETTER.

Steve Madden Tarnney Boot

I received an email about The Steve Madden Tarnney Boot months ago, and was eager to place a pre order. My expected date was pushed back a few times, but oh when they arrived. These boots were perfect. They are more black than grey (per the site they say grey) which I love. I wear a 7 1/2 and they fit perfectly. My feet were even sore less after taking them off. I actually received compliments left and right on the them, you cant go wrong.

I loved the boots so much I was inspired to photograph them.

PAJAMA TREND 2012

I love a cute flat, and slippers are just fabulous. Add a touch of velvet with detail, and you have yourself some kicking ass shoes. But now the sister to the slipper has popped up, and that would be pajama inspired suits, tops, and pants. This is one of those trends that I would never do as a whole. Maybe I would buy the pants and mix them with heels, but the whole outfit is a bit to much for Tam’s taste. As I have blogged before, you have to be careful buying trends. Not everything is hear to stay, and I think the pajama look is one. But don’t get me wrong. I still think its cute, and if my budget allowed for it I would splurge. But (coughing) that is not the case.

Tornado Weather

A scary day for DFW. My kids called from school, alarms were going off, and thoughts of what’s to come. Never do you imagine that it will happen, but it does. Every year we as a city deal with the fear of tornados around this time. Thank God we (our community) were spared. This tornado was about 5-7 miles away in a sister suburb, and it could have been us. The damage that has been shown is unimaginable. At this time, the outside is so quiet and still. Almost as if a tornado had never visited the area. But once the sun rises another day, its presence will be seen but more so felt all over again.

We as a family want to THANK EVERYONE that reached out to check on us. I appreciate the love, and thoughts from those in the social media community. We are all living real life everyday behind these computers. But as always…

God is GOOD.

There was a time when I would walk in Zara, maybe grab a few things and out I would go. But lately, they have kicked things up ten times over for me. Loving the designs. Below are a few looks that I SWOON OVER that are not in stores. The stuff goes at the blink of an eye. The shipping is FREE. FREE. FREE.

I bought two of these sweaters and gotta say they are wonderful for $19. Light, well made, and different with the keyhole at the back. You cant lose if you order at least one.

Yes, I am mint obsessed this season. Lets be glad I did not throw on my mint bracelet. And for the record, I was rushing out the door and forgot…so next time it will appear for sure (queue the sound---DING). I painted my nails MINT CANDY APPLE (ESSIE), and my toes MOD ABOUT YOU (OPI). LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE everything about the pink. It’s a cross between a pink, with a drip of lilac. Texas is basically springing it up right now. I don’t think we had a winter, and my wardrobe is really winter based. But I wont complain. But these colors are TAMS new best friends. WELCOME.

My Saturday In Photos

I have not done one of these posts in a LOOOOONG time, and thought it would be fun so here it goes.

Usually we are running around the city with our sons “select basketball life”, but we had no games this weekend, and Mr. Styles (with his sweet self) decided he wanted to look at some vintage pieces and treat his wife with a little shopping. As we mentioned in the video, this is what we would equate to a “date night”. A no pressure weekend that is memorable.

These pictures were for sale. I am sure from an estate sale. I felt so bad looking at personal photos of a family that probably missed these. This is why I tell my children NOW how I want my things handled.

The GAP employees at Mockingbird Station were so good to us. They always are. If ever you want to shop at GAP and get wonderful service. STOP THERE.

I wont go into how I felt about this jacket until I style it. But I LOVE IT.

I have mentioned before that I am not afraid to shop in the MENS SECTION. As we were leaving I ran right into the rack where these men’s shirts were. They are slim fit, and I was in love. I am wearing a MEDIUM. But went down the street to Northpark, and picked up a small. That picture is to come in a style photo.

These Jeffery Campbell “ROCKETT” heels were calling my name.

Downtown Dallas offers great spots to live in. I think I can see Khloe and Lamar. But the architecture is absolutely the best. Our skyline is looking better, and better as time passes.

Getting my feet on the ground…and heading home.

Do you remember when I posted my boot picks a while back? Well the list included the STEVE MADDEN LINDLEY BOOT. They were sold for $199.95 which was just to much for me. Nordies had them during their anniversary sale for $169 but I passed and bought something else. As time passed on, I started to really want the boot. They were either sold out at the sale price, or full price everywhere else. Did I mention I wasn’t paying full price? OK, good.

Well Saturday morning I was browsing the net, minding my own business and decided to visit 6pm.com. I clicked on the Steve Madden brand, and started to look at what they had to offer. As I scrolled down there was this boot that looked familiar. It was the LINDLEY. There was only ONE SIZE….my size 7 1/2. I bought the last pair, for (DRUM ROLL PLEASE)

Ladies, I am so very happy. I wanted these boots so bad, and figured I would never catch them at a great price based on my research. So the wait was WORTH IT.

Did I not meet the savings fairy or what?

Ever visit a hotel, and fall in love with the bathroom? The amenities are absolutely mind blowing with the luxury they bring. Would you want that feeling fulltime? I know I would for sure. It is very doable. More than we think,

Walk in showers. Who would not want one of these fabulous pieces to walk into everyday. We were thinking of a bathroom renovation, and this crossed my mind many times.

Heated towel rails are an ultimate luxury when getting out of a hot shower. Wrapping yourself in something warm, and snuggly is a wonderful feeling.

If you cant have the ultimate walk in shower. Great looking shower doors is the next best thing. There are so many options aside from a basic shower door.

You ever find a shoe that excites you? One that you cant wait to bring home, or to arrive just so you can strut around the house in front of the mirror? Well that’s how I felt about the Zaira heel. I had been looking for a mesh type shoe for some time now, and found just what I wanted in these. The snake skin and mesh just melted my heart. Well…they arrived and I was like a kid on Christmas. I wear a 7 1/2 and could not get my foot in, let alone zip them up. I don’t think an 8 would even work. I dare not do an 8 1/2, not to mention I bought the last pair they had. Well, off they went. They stayed at my house for 15 minutes, and are on their way back home. But I loved them so much..I decided to dedicate a post to them.

I would have worked the hell out of this shoe.

Easy Collage Wall

I meant to share with you guys the change that I made to the wall in the breakfast nook (now used as the dining area). I started with the pixel art that I made from paint samples, and decided to make a small collage. I did nothing fancy, this was all about using what I had around the house. And making things myself.

As you can see from what I noted. I mixed DIY, family, and doable décor pieces.
