Really?

Why?

Those are my two questions in regards to the state of the Minnesota Republican Party. They have moved from the religious conservative wackos to even further right with sending all but 1 delegate to the 2012 Republican Party, or as I call it, "The Crowning of Obama". Oh and that 1 delegate that is not a backer of Ron Paul is Michelle Bachmann, the head of the bat-shit crazy wing of the party.

I get it. We are the state that needs to be different than the other 50 states. We do this by electing Jesse Ventura and Mark Dayton (speaking of batshit crazy, but thats a different story) as Governors and Al Franken as Senator. At least Sen. Franken has not shit all over himself as Senator yet. Yet.

So, all these delegates want Ron Paul as our next President. Not Mitt Romney. Certainly not The Chosen One (of Socialism), Barack Obama. Really? Why? Oh you want us to not watch out for our own interests overseas? You want to revert back to the outdated Gold Standard? You want the U.S. of A. to be isolationists. I get that. There are times when I think the USA gets too involved in other countries problems. But I do not think that ignoring the worlds problems would help.

I guess my frustration is that we Minnesotans have to be different. Thats right, cast those votes for Ron Paul (and one for Michele Bachmann) and watch as the rest will elect Mitt Romney to be the nomination for party. I will just sit back and shake my head in embarrasment.

Thank you Mom for letting me play sports. This is what helped shape me to learn about teamwork, heartache, joy of winning, how to work hard to succeed, share in camaraderie with others and above all, laugh with my friends.

Thank you Mom for always being there when I got hurt. Remember when I got a concussion and you spent the night with me awake so I would not fall asleep? Remember when I hurt my knee and you left work early and took me to the doctor? Remember when I had that motorcycle accident as full of road rash and hurt all over and how you stayed with me that first night to make sure I could rest? I do.

Thank you Mom for showing me how to cook. I love to cook now and am showing the love of my cooking with my son who wants to learn how to do that.

Thank you Mom for keeping our family together when our dad was struggling with alcohol addiction. Thank you for supporting him and working out things with him and keeping our family together. When our dad was sober he was a great man and we kids learned a lot from him. Now days, many families do not get that chance as the parents split and the dad is no where to be found.

Thank you Mom for laughing at all my bad jokes.

Thank you Mom for showing me how to drive.

Thank you Mom for always being at my games even though you had to leave work early to go to them and for cheering me up when we lost or I had a bad game.

Thank you Mom for not getting mad when my schoolwork slipped a little and you helping me with some subjects. I never forgot how you took time to help me out.

Thank you Mom for showing me that you can go through cancer and be dignified right up to the very end and for never forgetting to tell me you loved me right up to the end.

He continues to say that the rich need to pay more. This "Tax the Richest" mantra that liberals preach does not work in states that use this. It does not bring in the revenues like they think it will since the so-called rich hire tax attorneys to spread their wealth to other states and away from the state the live in.

HE LIES TO MINNESOTANS! He states things that the GOP wants to cut spending from schools and from the elderly. This is a lie! The budget goes up bi-annually. This is the largest budget ever in Minnesota. How can you cut spending from schools and elderly when they will have more money no matter what than the previous budgets. This is morally wrong for any Democrip to state this. It is also wrong for any liberal person to not understand this.

It is time to recall Mark Dayton. It is time for real leadership at the Capitol and have a governor with real leadership and values instead of one who spits out the same old lies and mandates of tax the rich.

Liberating Freedom on this D-Day

Freedom of Tyranny.

YES!

Money is good. I wish I had more of it. I wish that my savings account and checking account and my kids' accounts would have more money in them. Unfortunately they do not. I have railed already about the cost of golf and how if President I would love to have as much time as the Anointed One has to play golf. This post is not about that. In fact from now until July 4th all my posts will be about the good ol' U.S. of A. (and I will try not to rip O as much as I do).

This post is about the freedoms we have to our lives. We live in a society and Republic that allows us to spend money when we want and where we want to (within laws-sometimes it would be fun to be in Amsterdam). We live in a capitalist society. Not one of oppression. Not one where kings and queens will take your money away. We can make as much or as little as we want to. Those who want to be rich can be. Those who are comfortable with what they have can be. Some who want to reshape the way cities look can. Some who want to craft the land they live on and help feed the world, can.

We are quickly coming up to the 100 year old birthday of the 16th amendment to the Constitution. This amendment allows Congress to levy an income tax without apportioning it among the states or basing it on census results. This amendment will turn 100 on February 3, 2013. At first, this was a simple flat tax on income. Noble idea. Wish we could go back to this idea, not as a consumption tax but a flat tax on wages earned. Of course, those on the left and far left will say that those who make more need to pay a higher tax rate than those who do not. I say keep it a flat tax and cut back spending on worthless programs, projects, research and NPR (Yes they are a favorite of mine!). Our freedoms rely on us being liquid and not dependent on others. America has to have this passion again that we are a free society-not one that is sucking at our mothers teet all the time (in this case our Uncle Sam's teet but you get the point).

Could this happen? YES. We first have to educate lefties about spending (can't spend more than brought in) and educate everyone on why a flat tax is fair. We also have to get the right people into positions to make this happen. We have to defeat The Anointed One in 2012, take hold of the Senate and keep hold of the House. Yes, America, Yes WE Can!

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://mjand212theafiles.blogspot.com/2011/06/flat-tax-in-our-lifetime-yes.html' title='Flat Tax In Our Lifetime?
Yesterday I got a tank of gas and it is still costing me over $50 a tank. I get 23 miles per gallon. I have to have a larger car with my family needs. I cannot go out and get what our President says a new car that is energy friendly. You see, I cannot afford a $400 a month payment. My vehicle has been paid for and I am driving it until it dies.

I also have cut way back on all the driving I have done so I spend less on gas. This means that my family and I do not spend so much money when we travel all over the state. You see we used to love to explore Minnesota and right now we do not have extra money to stay at hotels, eat out, shop and buy things in cities like Brainerd, Moorhead, Alexandria, Rochester and Ely.

I should run for President and make the US of A pay for my pub crawls in Europe, pay for my trips to New York City to see a play. Pay for my wife and kids to go to other places while I "work" on this economy. Oh, did I mention that if a disaster happens I would visit the place a week after because it fits my rigid schedule? And make short speeches to remember our veterans who gave their lives so I can go golfing 9 weekends in a row?

The War Powers Act is a federal law intended to check the power of the President in committing the United States to an armed conflict without the consent of Congress. The resolution was adopted in the form of a United States Congresss joint resolution; this provides that the President can send U.S. armed forces into action abroad only by authorization of Congress or in case of "a national emergency created by attack upon the United States, its territories or possessions, or its armed forces."

The War Powers Resolution requires the President to notify Congress within 48 hours of committing armed forces to military action and forbids armed forces from remaining for more than 60 days, with a further 30 day withdrawal period, without an authorization of the use of military force or a declaration of war.

Newt Gingrich

I am not excited by him anymore. He has old idea's that do not excite anyone. He is too conservative to excite indies. He is too conservative to excite centrists in the Republican Party.

Mitt Romney

The GOP version of John "Flip Flop" Kerry. Sure he will repeal Obama care. Wait, didn't he have a version like Obama care that he championed when he was governor in Massachusetts? I can see Obama's team going hard after him on that and all his other changes since he became a so-called conservative.

Tim Pawlenty

The nice guy who wants to be liked by everyone. I do like him. Not too conservative and yet not too moderate. One problem is that he was so staunch in his position of no new taxes, he led Minnesota to a state of user fee's. Sure he is against taxes but he failed to limit spending in Minnesota which has led to the state being in big trouble with the budget.

Sarah Palin/Michelle Bachmann

Which will want to wear the Prom Queen crown? My guess is Michelle Bachmann. I do not think Palin will run nor should she. She showed how weak she was in policy in 2008. Both women do excite the crowd, which is a positive. My guess is that Bachmann will have early support but that will fall apart when she says something controversial, which she tends to do at times.

Herman Cain
Herman is the one that Democrats fear the most. A black conservative. How dare he?!! Am I right? Cain will be everything Obama is now. A well-spoken black man. Someone that you can throw away the race card which the Dem's hide in their recruiting of voter's. Cain will be able to get the Indie's excited plus will be the one that can pull together a divided GOP. Cain sends fear down the Limousine Liberals spine's because they know he can pull the black vote along with the Hispanic vote. If he decides to run....look out world!
To Mileage Taxes!!

Okay, so we have heard from several state governments and the Federal government about an idea to have a tax on miles driven. Thanks to the left and their "clean fuel" with hybrids, etc, the state and federal government is taking in less tax on money spent at the pump. SO because of this, they want to tax people who drive a hybrid for miles driven. Hmmm....several thoughts jump to mind :

I really think people are driving less because of the cost of gas. I know I have changed my driving habits and think twice if I have to drive excessively than I did before. I know I pay more at the pump but I go to the pump less than I did.

Big Brother will want to install tracking devices in your cars to monitor your mileage driven. Great! Wait, not great! I live in Minnesota and live close to Wisconsin. What if Minnesota passes this law, i drive a hybrid, but not 100% of the time in Minnesota. Do I have to pay for miles driven out of Minnesota?

Big Brother will be able to tell where I drive and how fast. Who is to stop BB from being able to send me speeding tickets in the mail based on the computer recording how fast I drive? What if I get lost driving and find myself near a known drug dealer. Who is to say they will not dispatch vehicles looking for people in that area who are driving around?

Do I have to pay for mileage if my car is stolen?

Okay say it passes...liberals are trying to make it hard for drivers. This is geared towards mass transit. Liberals literally want to tax you to death until you go the way they want you to go. Tax on gas. Tax on miles. Tax on registrations. Toll roads. When will the taxes stop? When will they let government get out of our lives? NEVER!!!!!!

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://mjand212theafiles.blogspot.com/2011/05/say-no-to-mileage-taxes.html' title='Say NO!

President Obama has his "Victory" tour this week after killing OBL. Today he was congratulating the operations teams that took out Osama Bin-Laden. While I do not agree with the President on many issues I thought he is doing exactly what a President should be doing-reaching out to the military and letting them know about the wonderful job they have done.

Speaking of taking out OBL...is it illegal for a Head of State to "Order" his killing? I wonder....

My mother would have turned 76 just 2 days ago. She has been deceased for 20 years. I hate cancer and some day we will have a cure to this evil disease. My hearts and best wishes go out to all the moms this weekend who have beaten Breast Cancer. Love your children hard.

Seriously, Obama Pompousness Has Worn Out

He strides up to the podium placed in the hall of the White House. He speaks. He uses I throughtout the speech. These actions show how much of a pompous ass Obama has become.

First, why use the hallway? Speak to the world from the most important office in the free world. Speak to the citizens of the United States and let them know that Public Enemy Number One was killed. Speak to us like almost all the previous presidents before him spoke to Americans during a crisis or when important news was to be announced. His ego just was too large for the Oval Office so it had to be taken out to the hallway.

Second, why state the obvious, that "I decided" to take him out. YOU, Mr. President, had an obligation as the leader of the free-ist of all societies, to look out for America's interests. But seriously, you knew it had to be done and the fact that you had to sleep on it and make a decision 16 hours after the fact tells us that you have no sense of what is right. You had to come to grips with it yourself knowing if you did not give the approval to strike and take him down that once word leaked out you denied America of cleansing itself of this evil, you would not get re-elected. That's right, you made the decision because you want to stay on as president after 2012.

Third, you should be ashamed you did not and would not give credit where credit is due. You cannot find it in your heart to thank former President Bush that, well in fact, HIS decision on interrogation techniques, the Patriot Act, and The Bush Doctrine, gave your administration the facts needed to take out OBL. You failed to acknowledge him so you could show that you are strong when we all know that your foreign policy is weak and that you are the president that will be known to lose the Middle East friendships that were built up for the past 50-60 years are going out the window. Shameful you could not thank Mr. Bush.

Lastly, you need to go in 2012. Yes, America is sick of your pompous attitude.

Once Again America Screws Up

Why is it that each time America has a natural disaster, the rest of the world sits back and watches us?

Case in point is the BP oil spill. While BP and the government is trying to stop the oil from gushing out and also working on a plan to clean up the coast, our allies and neighbors do nothing to help? Where are you Great Britain (after all they are called British Petroleum)? Where are you Germany? Where are you Canada? Japan? Latin America? Africa? France? Ok you can stop laughing at France.

You get my point-they are watching us. Sort of like driving by a car accident. You gawk. They gawk. They are gawking and laughing at us. Those countries love to watch us screw up and keep screwing up. Now I will say that GW Bush screwed up with slow relief effort after Katrina. His screw up is nothing like Obama's right now. He feigns anger at the situation as he tries to socialize America. He really does not care. I feel for the people of Louisiana and Mississippi. I was down there recently and the residents are down right pissed off at Obama and his administrations slower than snail's response rate. Some talk radio down there even want to envoke State's Right's and do what is necessary to protect their wetlands since they are not getting any help from Obama. State's Rights people!

I guess if I lived in another country I too would sit back and watch this massive screwup so that if it happened on my turf I would know not what to do.

Twins to take AL Central?

I am going to write a different type of baseball prediction blog. First of all, yes I am a homer and the Twins are my #1 team in baseball. That being written, I will take my homerism out of the equation and try and attempt predictions for this upcoming season. Let's start with the National League.

Worst team-Has to be Pittsburgh followed closely by San Diego. Unless SD trades Gonzales and/or Bell then the Padres will be the worst.

Best team-Have to go with the Phillies.

Winners:
NL East-Philadelphia (97 wins)
NL Central-St. Louis (89 wins)
NL West-Los Angeles (90 wins)
Wild Card-Colorado by a game over Atlanta

American League

Worst Team-Has to be either Cleveland or Kansas City. Doesn't matter which-both teams stink.

Best Team-The evil empire-the hated Yankees.

Winners:
AL East-New York (yes I threw up in my mouth a little-98 wins)N
AL Central-Your Minnesota Twins (90 wins)
AL West-Seattle (90 wins)
Wild Card-Los Angeles Angels of Anahiem (I still call them California Angels)

Playoffs:
Philadelphia over Colorado
LA over St. Louis
LA over Philadelphia in 7 games

California Angels over New York
Twins over Seattle
Twins over Angels in 6 games

That brings us to a rematch of the 1965 World Series. I am hedging the American League beats the National League in the All-Star game and I think the cold weather will be the new Twins advantage versus the Dome magic. I believe the Twins would win games 1 and 2 before heading to warmer weather in LA and their the Dogers win games 3 and 4 but the Twins escape in game 5 with the Wold Series clinching win in game 6 and we now can call Target Field, Magical.
