Slingshots

Early checks at HQ and mid peninsula didn't look surfable so wjet and I checked wedge. He sat out and I took the slingshot out for some lil'bagels. Crowd and wind soon turned ugly so we called it a day.

Wjet passed on a couple boards for me to sell, so once I've cleaned them up they'll be on DB later. One hint, Rabbit and Russ.

Been out of the water shooting for the past 2 days and the lack of water time was sucking the life out of me. Bad grumpy mood all day, lack of sleep, just an all around scrooge. So I put the camera down, threw on the fins and grabbed the slingshot and hit wedge for 3 hours this morn. Nothing more recharging than a good work out, tunnel visions, and bright sunshine to start the day.

Super cracked it and the swell wasn't where it was yesterday. Slid down to wedge for a couple hours of landshots, then took the slingshot out for my own.

The gut was gurgling at HQ 1st light, telling me to head elsewhere. So I did, and it paid pretty good dividends. Surfed for an hour and a half, then headed down to Wedge for some slingshot session. Talked to another out and asked if it was empty all morning, he said there were only 2 others out from dawn til 8, and was working the bases on the sets...completely makeable and round! 1st day of school and nary a crowd to be found.

Finally got around to tooling down the 1/2 skim found in the trash at wedge a few weeks ago. Was thinking about going handgun, but opted for the armrest instead. Narrow and long, just alittle longer than my forearm....work in progress.

Next up was a longboard fin that had been sitting in the garage for about a year. Thought I'd ghetto copy for shits and giggles. It actually didn't come out too bad. Shaved down for some tipflex, but not quite the L-flex..flex. It actually might be a good thing. The L-flex gets alittle sketchy when the doughnuts get overhead on the hull. Flex in the steep beachies gets you holding on by your toenails sometimes.

DanO let me give his simfish a spin. Abit of a different twist from the Zamora I rode in O'side. Alittle tougher to get used to in 4 waves.

JDub turned into the enforcer this morning and had to give a verbal lashing to an Ipod wearing funboarder.

Don't pass up the Under the Sun show tomorrow night at Lido. Ran into Cyrus in the parking lot passing out flyers, said the viewing in HD is something not to be missed.
