These past few weeks have been very difficult on my family and I. Suddenly and unexpectedly we had to have our dog of 8 1/2 years put to sleep. On Thursday 2/17 I came home from work to find Lucky laying in her own pee unable to do anything. I could tell she was in pain but had no idea what was going on. I tried every remedy I could at home to help her, however I knew in her eyes something was terrible wrong, so I brought her Boston Rd Animal Hospital. The news came fast and without warning. Lucky had a melignant tumor on her spleen and it had ruputured, her belly was filled with blood. We had 3 options; 1st option we could do Surgery on Lucky and remove her Spleen, this surgery wouldn't heal Lucky it would only by her time (maybe 6 months top). 2nd option do nothing and bring her home. 3rd option was to put her to sleep. When the Dr was telling me what was going on I blacked out, It was like my heart was ripped out of my body. How could I make such a decision about someone I loved so much. My husband meet Jessica and I @ the hospital, and we decided that the best unselfish thing for us to do was to put her to sleep. It was a hard decision however we didn't want to see her suffer. She didn't deserve that. After we had made our decision I was a little relieved that the Dr had said that if it were her dog she would have made the same decision we had. Lucky Rose Blanchard was the best dog that I ever meet. She was my four legged best friend. I miss her dearly. There are 2 things that I am thankful for. 1 that she didn't suffer long, and 2 that I got the chance to say goodbye. This was one of the hardest times that my family and I had to go through. I just kept thinking about how much I loved her and how much she loved us.

Meet Lucy Lu Blanchard

Let me introduce you to the newest member of our family. Meet Lucy Lu!!! She is the bandage that I have wrapped around my heart to stop the bleeding. She is such a little sweety pie. She was born on 12/22 and is just under 10 weeks old. We picked her up on 2/20. She came to us from Lahaxa Kennels in Maine. We've had her for a little over a week now and I think about her whenever I'm a way from her. She is a little terror at the moment, but she has won my heart. It is like raising a baby. I'm not sure if I was ready for this leep however I just keep telling myself she will be house broken soon, and the chewing will stop.
