Quick Lunch @ Leong Ya Restaurant, Puchong

Today we visited one of our aunt's place in Subang. Before going, we went for a quick lunch at one of the restaurants that we patronise often in Puchong. We usually go there for dinner as the food is good and the price is reasonable.

Luckily I called to book a table before going, as when we reached there, the place was packed to the max!. hehehe... we ordered deep fried kailan, stir-fried long beans, fish head curry, pork ribs with 2 taste, pork trotter in lotus leaf, prawns & tofu soup. After lunch, we proceed to our aunt's place for toong shui.. hehehe...

CNY Dinner with ex-Colleagues @ Overseas Restaurant, Armada Hotel Petaling Jaya

Just came back from dinner with a few ex-colleagues from previous company. One of them called me to check if I am available for dinner tonight, to which I replied yes. hehe... I love to see them again.. and I usually wont say no to dinner invites!.. hehehe.... 'thamciak' mia pasal!!. hohoho...

We ordered the set dinner for 6 persons. The portion was just nice, neither too much nor too little. hehehe...we started of with 'yee sang'.. a toss to prosperity, good health, good fortune and lots of happiness!!... As there were 3 of us who didnt support 'shark's fin', the other 3 ended up having 2.5 bowls of soup per person!!. We didnt realise that it was shark's fin soup when we ordered, otherwise we would have changed to a different soup!. The portion of siew yok had to be replaced with a portion of roast duck as their siew yok is all sold out!. Steamed fish meat was good. even though the meat was thick, it was not overcooked!. it managed to retain it's sweetness and texture!. Since I am not really a prawn person, I didnt try the butter prawns. The steamed rice in bamboo leaves was tender and flavourful!.

Overall the dinner was good. we had a lot of laughters and it's nice to catch up with friends once in a while. hehehe...Wishing them a Happy, Prosperous, Healthy and Adventurous Year ahead..... All the best in their future undertakings!!.....

CNY Reunion Meal @ Home

CNY is here again. Most of the chinese families will gather and enjoy their reunion meal together. It is already a custom for all of us. Nowadays, the 'reunion' meal can be held earlier or later, depending on the members' availability and also schedule. Some may need to work on CNY eve, and others may not be around. Anyway, having meals with family members are always nice and meaningful, especially for old folks!. They wait and treasure these moments very much. I am sure most of you will agree with me, that parents always long for their children and grandchildren's return!.

Even though the dishes are the same year after year, we still find it delicious and long to have these dishes over and over again. As I grow older, I always find that these are still the best dishes that I have ever had... all because, all these are prepared and cooked by my mum!!.. hehehe.. except the siew yok!! hehehe....my favourite is still bak-kien!!. yeahhhhh..... hehehehe.... the taste of minced meat marinated and mixed with diced mushrooms, some sengkuang etc. hehe...

We usually have our dinner earlier, so that we can clean up and my parents could get ready for night prayers. Wishing everyone 恭喜发财，万事如意, 身体健康

Lunch @ Rockfish Restaurant & Bar, Puchong

One of the restaurants has been dropping comments in my post. Well, since this restaurant is pretty close to my place, I thought I could check it out one day. So, today, I suggested to my mum that we shall go there for lunch. When we arrived, the place was quite empty, only 2 tables were occupied. Since the commentator 'recommended' salted eggs yolks soft shell crabs with fried crystal noodles, I checked that out. The crab coated with eggs yolks was flavourful. The noodles was similar to fried mee suah!.. I love fried mee suah! hehehe... Mum had fish head noodles and niece had fish & chip! The fish was quite flavourful.

Overall the food was good! But the service needs to be improved. One of the 'waiters' that served us was close to 'dumb'... didnt answer and respond to our enquiry. I think that is certainly not 'service oriented'. In my opinion, if we are in these kind of service industry, we have to be at least 'professional'.... otherwise, you can apply for leave to go home or request to work elsewhere!!.... hmmmm.......

Last Day of 2011

Another year is coming to an end. Let's look back and see what we have accomplished for the year. Be it 'nice or unpleasant', it is still part and parcel of our lives, whether we like it or not. But as a master of our own minds, we can choose to 'retain' the pleasant ones and 'delete' those unpleasant ones. We should always archive those 'lessons, experiences, encounters etc' and learn from it. It can be a valuable element in life and we could improvise on it as we go along.

Since, I have always wanted to 'document' whatever that I have encountered in this blog, so that I could 'refresh' my memories and remind myself from time to time.

In January 2011, I was selected as one of the delegates to assist 2 major events in Doha, Qatar. One of it was the "AFC Congress 2011" and the next one was "AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2011". Both events were memorable to me, one could feel the tense, pressure, excitement, frustration, anger, disappointment, etc during this time. As those were among the most important event for the organisation. Nothing can go wrong and it has to be close to perfect if it is not perfect at all!. But when it came to an end, everyone felt relieved!! Tears of joy flowed automatically.

The rest of the year was kind of quiet, didn't do much. Went to Penang with my parents and niece in May. My niece went nut when she saw the beach in Penang. It was her 1st trip there. hehe... Dropped by in Ipoh for lunch.

Niece went 'ga-ga' when she saw the beach, as she had long to go to the beach for a long time. hehe.. She insisted to go down to the beach even if the weather was 'scorching' out there!...

During the August break, went to Cameron Highlands for a weekend. Needed some cool and refreshing air for a change. It was nice. Cameron Highlands is a lot better than Bukit Tinggi which we went for a day trip in September. There aint much things to see and do in Bukit Tinggi. I wish that Berjaya will do something with it, otherwise, it will be a 'ghost' town soon..

Then, I was granted another chance to be a part of the delegation for the AFC U-19 Women Championship 2011 in HCMC in October. I had some sort of 'cultural shock' when I was there. Well, maybe I was exposed to the most prestigious event in Doha and it was a 'grand' event and when I was in HCMC, it was like... "penthouse and basement!". Well, it was still a valuable exposure for me, as I could proudly tell myself that I have been to both, men's and women's championships!. hehehehe... In addition, it's my first trip to Vietnam. Will travel to Vietnam again... Hanoi will be the next destination in Vietnam!!. hehehe

In November, I joined DT and Theng again. I was really happy that I am able to work with both of them again. I travel to Penang once a month to synchronise work and also to meet the juniors. hehehe...They are certainly adorable.

Went to Kuching with my parents and niece in late November. It was my niece's early birthday present from my parents. Me tumpang glamour!. hehehehe...It was great, as it was my first trip to Sarawak. Now I can proudly say to myself and claimed that I have been to all states in Malaysia. hohoho... (but I have not been to Labuan.. will make a trip there one day!!)... yeah.. my next resolution!!

This Christmas, I received a speedlite as Christmas present. Thank you, Tegnanders. I tested it out during my cousin's wedding back in hometown. I think the pictures looked great!. hehehe...

Today is the last day of another 'pleasant' year for me!. I am grateful for everything that I have received, achieved and encountered for the year. I was truly blessed!!.. hehehe....Today, I will just glue myself to the couch and watch TV.. just to relax, as it was really hot these few days.

'Long Lunch' @ House, G-Tower, Jalan Tun Razak

LPY organised a luncheon and invited a few of us out for a small casual gathering at House, located on the Lower Ground floor of G-Tower, Jalan Tun Razak. I surfed the website and got to know that it was previously known as SocialKL.

Reached there at 12 and YAL & CJW were there with baby Mikeala. After a few minutes, CYS, LPY, LSL, CLK & WPL arrived gradually. CJW was shy and said that he needed to go back to his office to finish some work. hehehe...(but we asked him to join us after a while)

We are a bunch of people who love food, and love sharing.. (sharing food is good, so that we can taste other items as well!!).. hehehe...we ordered Peking Duck with Deep-Fried Mantou Bun. The tiny slice of 'peking duck' was chewy. I can only taste the sauce at the side and cant really taste the flavour of the meat. (too bad!!). Margarita Pizza was good, thin and crispy. CLK's son enjoyed the Seafood Pasta. He is only 2 plus and enjoyed his food... cute! The grilled asparagus and portobello mushroom salad's portion was far from my expectation..a bit too small!! hehehe... Later, we shared some desserts, marble cheese cake, blueberry cheese cake, crispy waffle and also red bean galore. The blueberry cheese cake was really cheesey. The black sesame ice-cream in red bean galore was not flavourful enough.

CJW (Jack) had Chicken Rice when he came back after his work. hehehe...

Am not sure how it tasted as I dont take beef.. hehehe... i suppose it should be tender... after 16 hours of slow-cooking.. hehehe...

Crab for Supper @ Poh Loong Seafood Restaurant, Teluk Intan Perak

Growing up in small towns was really fun. Keeping in touch with close buddies was never a problem to most of us. I grew up in Teluk Intan... was born there, went to pre-school, primary school and secondary school there. There are friends whom I have known since pre-school, some during primary school days and some from the secondary school days. There are 3 really special friends who will be in my heart for as long as I live. We grew closer when we were in Form 1, when we went to tuition together, then attended school percussion band practices on Saturdays. Even though we dont meet too often, at times once a year, at times even more than a decade!!.. hehehe.. but we still keep in touch via FB, sending birthday messages, greeting messages... etc. True Friends are there to stay!!...

When I knew that I was going back to TI for my cousin's wedding, I informed TSL of that, and she asked if LSP is also going back, to which she was, as she had to take care of her mum who just went through eye surgery to remove cataract. After moving to KL, i seldom go back to my hometown for more than 12 hours, as we dont have a house there anymore. Most of our relatives have either moved to stay with their kids in bigger towns or have 'migrated' to 'up there'. hehe..

TSL asked if we should meet up, I told her that I could only do so after the wedding dinner and not sure if I could be 'released'. Luckily my eldest sister came along, she drove my parents to my relative's place after dinner, as my parents wanted to meet them. I called TSL, and she fetched me from the hotel (after I have changed to my casual outfit.. as I wanted to be comfortable!!). hahaha...

LYL and her husband finished work at around 11pm, and we joined them for a drink at the restaurant as they have not taken their dinner. To our surprised, when we arrived, the food was served and it didnt look like it was for 2 persons!!... So, we (me, TSL, LSP and her kids) had to 'help' ourselves. LSP's kids were great, they really enjoyed food. As for me and TSL, we ate 'assisted' on the crab. hehehe...

The crab was fresh and firm. Then when LYL asked us to try the 'Qin To Har'.. me and LSP were really curious and was really to check out the flavour, then LYL translated it to "Thousand Island Prawns", we were like 'chehhhh'.. but we still tried them, it was sweetish. The kids love those prawns. The kids also love the fried rice and seafood noodles.

The gathering would be nicer if TSL's husband, SCY and also LSP's husband, Mr. Ow were there too, then it would be complete like 11 years ago... hehehe..... I will try to make a trip back to TI again, just to hang out with my buddies.

Wedding Dinner Reception @ Poh Loong Banquet Hall, Teluk Intan Perak

Went back to TI to attend my cousin's wedding yesterday. The wedding ceremony was scheduled to start at 8.15am, that means we have to be there there by at least 7 - 7.30am. I am a very skeptical person, I was afraid that the traffic will be bad as it is a long weekend, I suggested to my parents and sister that we are leaving home at 4.45am. Deep down in my heart, I want to arrive TI before 7am!.

We left home around 4.30am, picked up my sister in Sunway at 4.45am and headed to Damansara toll. There were quite a number of cars on the road, like expected, long weekend, people go back to hometown or they go for holidays. (But i think the former should be more accurate, I dont think many love to travel at dawn!). It drizzled and rained along the highway, I was driving quite fast but was really careful, as the road can be slippery. When we exited at Bidor's toll, it was 6am! (hehehe... ). and I drove cautiously along the route from Bidor to TI, as it was quite dark. Reached my aunt's place at around 6.40am, she was surprised to see us that early. haha..

My cousin was in her room with her make up artist. My aunt was as usual, walking in and out of the kitchen, cleaning this and that. Then she asked my uncle to take us out for breakfast. I didnt follow them, as I wanted to take pictures of my cousin. hehehe... Mum wanted to stay back to chat with aunt. Therefore, my eldest sister, father and niece went out for breakfast with my uncle.

The wedding ceremony went smoothly. When the bride left for the groom's place, we went out for lunch at Mastan Ghani for mee rebus.

The wedding dinner was held at Poh Loong Banquet Hall. When we looked at the menu, we were happy, as 'Seven Happiness Combination' will be served!!. woohooo... it has been a long time since we last have these kind of dishes. In KL, there are only 'Four Seasons' (comprising only 4 different kind of dishes in one plate). The common varieties on this plate were such as 'Kwai Fa Chi', 'Pai Kuat Wong', 'Foong Wong Kow', 'Yam Basket'... others, you can mix and match. When I was a kid, I always look forward to this dish!. hehehe... Then the following dishes were not that interesting to me anymore. hehehe.... The steamed assam fish was overcooked and it still had the 'stinky mud' flavour in it!. Therefore, to me, it was a failure!!.. aiyy.. a disappointment to be more precise. They should have deep fried the fish to make it crispy, then cover it with lemon gravy!. then it would be nicer.. i think!. hehehe...

Another disaster that struck the dinner table was the dessert!. They should have served the 'deep fried ice-cream' in such wedding dinner. The 1st batch of the deep fried ice-cream would have melted when it was served, as it had to wait for other batches to be ready!... aiyy..

Overall it was a great dinner, as my parents got to meet up with his cousins and other relatives. They have aged so much and we too, have grown up!.. hehehe... The dinner ended at about 10.30pm, and i went back to the hotel to get changed for the next 'appointment'!. hahaha....Whilst my sister drove my parents to my father's cousin's place for dessert.

Delectable Snack in Teluk Intan

I am sure you would agree with me that your hometown goodies are still the best as compared to the big town snacks. First of all, it's the flavour that you grew up with, its the familiarity that you would like to rediscover over and over again.

Everytime my family and I go back to our hometown, we will make our way to Mastan Ghani for Mee Rebus. It is one of the best mee rebus one had ever had. I am sure most of the people from this small town agree with me!. The next famous food that this small town people love is Chee Cheong Fun. A lot of people go 'ga-ga' over this snack. I dont really fancy that, hence, its at the bottom!. hehehe..

Since we had a few hours to kill, my sis, niece and I went out for some light snacks... yeah.. assam laksa to fulfil our desire for a bowl of 'real assam laksa' and also a bowl of ice-kacang to quench our thirst on a hot day. The ice-kacang at Doremi is still the best!.. generous amount of ingredients.. hehe. We also bought back some 'kuih-muih' for our parents who opted to rest at the hotel, as we started our journey really early.

Merry Christmas!!!

Christmas is just 2 days away. It is a time for giving, sharing and also receiving.. hehehe... I personally love this season, as the shopping complexes are decorated with all sorts of decoration and each and everyone of them has their own theme. It is a season to give, to contribute to the under-privileged. Everyone, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity and level of wealth, want to participate in this truly meaning season. A lot of companies also organise charity drive, visits to orphanages etc. I have done my part too. My friends and I participated in the charity drive to contribute stationary items to 2 orphanages. I am sure, everyone is happy, the receiving party and also the 'giving' party!!... I know I am happy!!..

Yesterday my boss was in town. He came up to the office with a gift...it's my Christmas present from them. I was 'teary' (tears of joy), when I finally unwrapped the box... its a Canon Speedlite 430EXII. Thank you, DT, Theng, KJ and Siv Linn. I have no idea Theng remembered that my 'dslr's' built-in flash was faulty. I was using it a few months ago, when I was in Penang. The camera's built-in flash did not 'pop-out' and I had to 'force' it open. I am really happy, overjoyed and surprised!!.... Thank you again. I will use it tomorrow, when I attend my cousin's wedding.

Happy Winter Solstice Festival

Today is the Winter Solstice, and as a tradition, most of the Chinese families will gather to have their 'reunion' dinner. As the Chinese saying goes, "Winter Solstice is bigger than Chinese New Year" 冬大過年

My mum prepared the dumplings, aka 'tong yuen' in Cantonese, the previous night. She will then cook these dumplings in boiling water, before transferring them into the pot of syrup (sugar with pandan leaves). It's a tradition to consume tong yuen during 'winter solstice' for all Chinese descendants, in general. However, in the modern world today, some may not practice this custom, as they may find it a hassle, while others may choose to simplify the tradition by getting the 'frozen dumplings' from the supermarket

Like most of the Chinese festivals, it is quite a 'big thing' for my family, especially my parents. My parents observe almost all the festivals, therefore, we as their 'offsprings' will just follow their footsteps without questioning too much. This morning, my parents went to the market with my younger sister and niece to a whole chicken, and other items for the 'reunion dinner'. When I reached home after work, dinner was ready to serve!!. hehehe...

A Small Gathering @ Dae Jang Gum, Taipan USJ

Just came back from USJ, after meeting up with a few ex-colleagues. It's nice to meet them once in a while. Havent seen them for quite some time. But it is always nice to see them again. This time, we decided to meet in Subang, as it is considered as one of the most strategic place. TCC from Klang, me from Puncak Jalil, BSM from Puchong and CYF from Subang.. hehehe... Since this is his 'territory' we had asked him to recommend some places, and TCC decided on the 'choice of food'... hehehe.. both me and Miaw are quite flexible when it comes to food... hehehe

I arrived at the shop around 1.30pm, and the rest came by 2pm. We ordered some food to share, as the main objective was to 'get-together'. hehe.. We had pajeon, grilled meat, sujebi and feasted mostly on the side dishes. hehehe.. The overall rating was ok. The grilled meat was quite juicy. The pajeon was not up to my expectation, I think there was too much flour. Sujebi was for Jaden... and we 'taxed' some!. hehehe... it was quite chewy.. which was good. I dont like it soft!.

Kolo Mee for Breakfast @ Ah Wee KOLO Mee, Fock Hai Tim Sam Cafe, Kuching

As mentioned earlier, Mum wanted to check out the stall that she noticed the previous day. Hence the morning, we went there directly. The portion of the bowl of noodles was more than the one that we had yesterday. The garnishing was at the minimal, with a few slices of char siew, some minced meat, and spring onions. However, the noodles tasted better at this Ah Wee Kolo Mee situated at the Fock Hai Tim Sam Cafe.

Since the shop stated "Tim Sam", Mum ordered some 'pau' to share. Aiyoyo... I had never tasted such 'compressed' meat in my life!!.. the meat inside the big pau was compressed and it was basically tasteless!!...

On the last day, we also had kolo mee for breakfast at the same shop. This time me and Mum had spicy kolo mee... it was nice!!!..

My parents repeated the mistake and ordered 'tim sam' again.. and this time, they ordered 'lor mai kai' and 'har kow' that tasted like 'siew mai'!!.....there's no 'har' inside the kow!!... can u imagine that? aiy... only meat without the 'main actor'.. the PRAWN... hehe.... the dumpling was wrapped like 'prawn dumpling'.. only without the 'prawn'....

Then... the 'lor mai kai' was a 'disaster'!!....it tasted like overnight 'fried lor mai faan'!!! it was hard and tasteless!!... aiyy....

Therefore, I would only recommend KOLO MEE for this cafe!!.. hehehehe... would love to have a bowl of kolo mee when I come to think of it!!....

Seafood for Dinner @ ABC Seafood Restaurant, TopSpot Kuching

On the second night, Mum wanted to check out other stalls. ABC Seafood is located a few stalls away from Ling Loong Seafood Restaurant (even though its on the same row). I was not really in favour of this ABC, as the staff are not as friendly as Ling Loong.

Mum ordered sea cucumber with mushrooms, I wanted to have 'kam-heong' bamboo clams again.. hehehe... (seriously, you wont be able to find such huge bamboo clams back in KL), the sweetness of the clams was simply unforgetable!!. Besides that we also ordered a plate of fried kuey teow, stir-fried black pepper ostrich and stir-fried 'yau-mak'. The meat was cut in very small pieces.. hmmm. must be expensive!!.. hehehe...Overall, the food turned out to be flavourful. I think it must be due to the freshness of the ingredients!!... sedapppppp....

Lunch @ Khatulistiwa Cafe, Kuching

We went back to the hotel after shopping. Our 'trolley' was already exhausted... hehehe.. our niece was a great girl during the trip. She carried most of the items when we went shopping. As I was busy snapping, I did not have a pair of extra hand to lend. hehe....

After rested for a while, we headed to Khatulistiwa Restaurant for lunch. The ambience was great, but the service was 'super slow!'. Luckily we were not in a hurry to rush to anywhere, otherwise... we would either cancelled our order or skipped the next item!. The restaurant was breezy, as it was located near the Sarawak River at the Waterfront.

We ordered a bowl of Suan La-Tang, Mushroom Soup, Black Pepper Fried Rice, Nasi Goreng Special, Carbonara and Fish & Chip. Papa's Black Pepper Fried Rice was good.. very flavourful!.. the black pepper gave an additional 'kick' to the rice. The Suan La-Tang tasted like sweet and sour soup.

When we saw 'mushroom soup'.. i thought it was those creamy mushroom soup, but when it was served...wow.. it was slices of mushrooms with chicken meat. nice!!.. hehehe...

Tua Pek Kong Temple and Chinese History Museum @ Kuching, Sarawak

Living near the Waterfront was really nice and convenient. Everything was within walking distance. We visited the Tua Pek Kong temple which was located opposite of the Chinese History Museum. It seems that this temple was built in 1843 but the official records stated that it was built in 1876. It is one of the oldest Chinese temple in Kuching. I am always amazed by the architecture, carvings and also scriptures on these kind of ancient buildings. It actually proven how skillful they were back then.

The Chinese Chamber of Commerce building which now houses the Chinese History Museum was built in 1912. It was the an office to adjudicate the disputes in the Chinese community, ranging from marriages to divorces to division of property etc. The items inside this museum were donated by the Chinese descendants and it was turned into a museum in 1993. Eventhough the items inside were not many, it was sufficient to provide a brief idea of the Chinese community in Malaysia.

Main Bazaar @ Kuching

After breakfast, we 'took' a cab to "Main Bazaar". hehe.. i know i know.. you will be laughing!!.. hehehe... its just 15 mins of casual walk and we took a cab and reached there in a min or two and cost RM10!!.. well well.. you have to remember that we have 'old folks' in this trip. Mum and Papa cant walk far or walk fast. Hence they rather pay!!.. anyway.. its ok, since this trip was paid by them!! hehehe...

Since it was still early, we waited for the shops to open. We went across to the waterfront and took some picture. Main Bazaar is a great place to shop. The row of shops offer just anything that a tourist require. You can get almost anything from here, ranging from clothes, bags, decorative, peppercorns to cakes etc. Its suitable for visitors who need to get some 'souveniers' back home.

First Breakfast @ Good Food Coffee Shop, Kuching

Nothing could be better than starting the day with a bowl of 'original' kolo mee in Kuching!. hehehe... There was no particular restaurant that we wanted to go, we just checked out the shop with a lot of patrons!!.. hehehe.. We believe that food cant be that bad if there are people Q-ing for it!!.. hehehe..

I have never had 'kolo mee' in KL. Anyway, having the original kolo mee in their 'homeland' cant be wrong!!.. hehehe.. we opted for 'kolo mee' except for Papa who wanted to try 'Sarawak Laksa"... The bowl of kolo mee have a few slices of charsiew, pork liver, fish cake, a piece of 'intestine', lean meat etc. We love the texture of the noodles.... However the drinks were a bit of a disappointment...

This shop is located near another 'cat statue'. Then Mum noticed that a shop located a few shops away also serve 'kolo mee'. She suggested that we go and check out that coffee shop the next day..(which we did)

First Seafood Dinner @ Ling Loong Seafood Restaurant, TopSpot, Kuching

Like what I said earlier, the hotel that we stayed was really strategically located. We were just 5 mins away from "TopSpot" food court. I read that seafood at TopSpot are fresh and reasonably price. TopSpot is located at Level 6. It was located near to 'HASIL' and opposite "Tun Jugah" mall.

When we reached to the top, we noticed that there were a couple of 'stalls' offering seafood there. It more of a food court that offers seafood!!. hehehe.... anyway, we just seated at Ling Loong Restaurant, as I wanted to dine 'alfresco'!!. hehehehe..

We ordered a few dishes in small portions, like 'kam heong bamboo clams', 'fried fish in mango sauce', 'stir fried paku with sambal belacan', fried calamari and 'oyster pancake'. That oyster pancake was a 'mistake'!!... I think they used 'dried oyster'. It was a disaster!!.. the waiter said that it is the 'specialty'!!... aiyyyy....

The bamboo clams was nice!.. so fresh and juicy!!.. yummy....the rest was ok!.. hehehe.... BTW.. the seafood restaurants here are "HALAL"....

Lunches @ 1FastFood, Kuching

Since its school holidays, my parents decided to bring my niece to Kuching for a long weekend. I purchased the tickets back in September. Then I dragged my feet a bit to check on the hotels online. I wanted to get a deluxe twin room.. as there are 4 of us. hehe... yeah.. me a stingy fella.. hehhee.. well afterall we will only going to retire our room at night to rest.

As usual, my main intention is always to snap as many photos as possible.. and select them later. Well everything is stored in the memory cards and do not need to print them!. hahahaha...

Upon arrival at the hotel, we walked to one of the nearest cafe for lunch. The hotel that we stayed was strategically located, it's close shopping complex, waterfront etc. Since it was already past 2pm when we had settled down, we came across a cafe called "1FastFood", we just walked in (as it was also air-conditioned!!).

My niece had "Tomato Mee", Mum had "Sarawak Laksa" and Papa had "Cantonese Fried". I skipped lunch for that day, as I was not that hungry... furthermore, I had "Roti Canai" in the plane!!. hehehehe... (we flew to Kuching via MAS). I opted for a glass of "Kedondong" juice!!.. it was one of the best kedondong juice I had ever had!... it was NOT DILUTED!!.. hehehehe....

After lunch we walked to the cat statue in front of our hotel for a short photo session!!... Then my parents went back to the room to rest, while me and my niece went for a walk along the waterfront!!

We came back to restaurant again on the 3rd day for lunch, as I wanted to try the Tomato Mee!!. hehehe.. I kinda like it!!.. hehehe.... the noodles was 'springy'.. and does not taste like 'boric acid' hehe.... Niece had fried rice, Papa had 'Rice Wine Chicken" with rice, while Mum had fried mee hoon!.

Nachos for Lunch @ Grill Chili's & Bar, KLCC

Mum & San went out for window shopping today. Met them up for lunch @ KLCC, as my current office is pretty close to that place.. well its within walking distance... hmm.. about 10 mins!. When i reached there, it was already lunch time. and the place was packed as usual. Having to search for a place for lunch was quite a challenge. Finally i decided to go to Chilis as the waiting time was only 10 mins. hehehe... yeah.. 10 mins to get a table.. and another 30mins to get our meal served.....

While waiting, I started to feel anxious, as the cloud was getting darker... aiyoyo.. it looked like it was going to rain anytime sooner.. and true enough.. it raining quite heavily for more about an hour!!..Went back to the office when the rain subsided!...

Since we were not that hungry, I ordered the Cajun Chicken Sandwich for San, knowing that she wont be able to finish the entire sandwich, she could share with mum.. hahahaha.. Then I also ordered nachos to share. I love nachos!!.. hehehe... the portion of food was just nice...hehehe... looks like I will be visiting KLCC more often for lunch from now on... hahaha....stay tuned....

Home-made Shredded Chicken Noodle Soup @ Home

On weekends we usually have simple meals like having noodles or eating out, especially when my brothers are not at home. My youngest brother is away on sales trip and my younger brother usually goes out with friends... hehe...

Today mum boiled a pot of chicken soup for noodles. Nothing could replace a bowl of simple home-made shredded chicken noodle soup on a relaxing Sunday.

Dinner @ Restoran Equine Park, Seri Kembangan

Reached home at 4.30pm! hehehe.. Rested a while before going out for dinner. Initially, my sister wanted to take us for "Ipoh Chicken Noodles" for noodles, but when we reached there... it was not opened!!.. then we went to Hamid, thought of having nasi beriyani.. but there was no mutton!!.. My father was getting furious!!...hehehe... So, I suggested that we go back to the restaurant that we had dinner yesterday!!.. yeah.. we went to this place for 2 consecutive nights for dinner!!.. hehehe...

We ordered sweet & sour pork, lemon chicken, sambal petai and pork intestine. I only had 2 former dishes for dinner, as I do not fancy petai / large intestine!.... The lemon chicken was normal, as the gravy was thick!!.. it was like the one that I had at HTY.. it was a disaster!!....

The sweet & sour pork was good too... the combination of crunchy pork with sweet & sour sauce was simply perfect. I cannot comment on the other 2 dishes.. as I did not taste them.. hehehehe.....

Visit to Ikea again

This morning, I had to pass something to a friend of my sitaupor who stays at mutiara damansara. Since I was there at that part of the town, I decided to go to Ikea. My sister and niece wanted tag along, as she needed to get something for her new place.

Ikea is a place that a lot of people love visiting, people go there to check out the latest decoratives or designs or items. Some even went there for a meal. For people who could take beef, they could have a taste of the swedish meatballs. I heard that it was good, but I have not tasted them, as I do not take beef!!.. But there are other options such as salmon sandwich, etc. My sister love the daim cake. To have it solely was too sweet to my liking, but having a bite of it with a sip of black coffee (without sugar / milk), made the bite of daim cake perfect!!...

We spent 5 hours at Ikea!!. can you imagine that? it was crazy.. but my sister was a 'slow' shopper!.. i kept on reminding her that we have to reach home by 5pm, coz we needed to take papa out for dinner tonight. Mum and elder sister were attending a relative's wedding!!.. hehehe...

One oNe onE OnE one ONE!!!!....

Today is another day.. but also another memorable One oNe onE OnE one ONE (11.11.11). I could say that we will only encounter these numbers, 01.01.01, 02.02.02, 03.03.03, 04.04.04, 05.05.05, etc once in our lifetime. Otherwise, we will need to wait for another century to come across these numbers again!. I dont know about you guys.. but I dont think I would come across these numbers again....Let's make the best out of it. Let me refresh what I have done for the day... (I couldnt recall the previous ones.. but atleast I will write down what I experienced today!!). hahaha...

To start of with... I go to work as usual today, but when I reached my office.. I discovered that I didnt bring my laptop power cable!.. aiyy.. in order not to waste time, I continue to work until the battery 'dried up!'. Thereafter I drove back home and work from home!!..

Had a simple meal with my parents in the evening, since my siblings are either not at home or working late, it's easier to eat out at times. My father preferred the pork ribs, Mum preferred fish.. and I preferred Cantonese Kuey Teow... hehehe.. but we also ordered a tofu dish for my niece!!. hehe...We had our meal at one of the restaurant near our place, Restoran Equine Park, which is located pretty close to Jusco Equine. We patronise this place occassionally. The braised pork ribs were succulent, it literally melted in your mouth!.. The fish was really crispy and having it complimented with pineapple gravy was simply perfect. The tofu dish was a bit of a disappointment!!!.. The tofu dish was supposed to be served with luffa, but instead they have supplemented it with cabbage and spoilt the taste!!.. aiyyyyy... As for the cantonese kuey teow.. it was delicious!!

My new office.. hehehe.. simple and cosy.. hehehe..have everything I needed.. a laptop & all-in-one printer!!.. hehehe. Below is the view from my office!!.. aint it great?? hehehehe...

Found this in the fridge. it was given to me by my ex-boss.. hehehe... no worries.. I have eaten it after this photo taken.. hahahaha...
