The much awaited movie by many including me and my son, Yogi. I saw the trailer on YouTube a few months ago but it was only the other day that I first saw its trailer on T.V. and watching it made me excited the more to watch the entire film. It will open on the 20th of this month and my son and I will surely never miss it for the world. I already promised him actually that we're going to watch it.

I was able to read the book and I figured, some of the scenes were different as that in the book while I was watching the trailer. Nevertheless, I know it'll still be as exciting and thrilling like Twilight and undoubtedly, another blockbuster hit at that.

My BA's favorite cologne. He doesn't use any other scent but this. And I can't blame him for it has a sweet and mild smell and I so love it. I even became a fan of this on Facebook and so does BA. To be honest, I first heard of this cologne from BA and first smelled it from him. I'm not into strong smelling perfumes since it's one of the many things that trigger my allergy. And boy, I'm just so glad that BA is not into those kinds of perfumes too. High five, BA! (",)

The land down under! Who doesn’t recognize that phrase? Or the lilting, lyrical accent of those who live there? It is one of the many places that I dream of visiting someday. I would love to take the boat ride near the famous Sydney Opera House as well as experience the wild life side and see kangaroos and koala bears for real. That would be totally exciting, no doubt. Yes, that’s a dream of mine and dreams do come true, but for now I will just have to satisfy myself with beautiful souvenirs from Australia that I found at AustraliaSouvenir.com.

There’s a wide array of souvenirs to choose from but I fancy the Grey Koala handbag with plush toy the most. Being a lover of handbags, it’s the first thing that caught my attention as soon as I browsed the site. It’s very cute and really stylish. And as always, I don’t just shop for myself. I know I’m not the only one who considers Christmas as their favorite time of the year. The spirit of Christmas is really something that brings joy and happiness despite the trials we face, and if for only one day, the world seems to put aside its differences and come together in peace. And one thing I like best about it is the sharing that puts smiles on the faces of the givers as well as the givees, no matter how simple the gift.

Gift giving is on my mind at this early time and I’m already contemplating on what to give my loved ones. They all deserve one special gift for they are all very special to me. I’ve seen there are new arrivals that are a must see from the array of $8 prescription Zenni glasses that Zenni Optical is known for. I know it would be a nice gift to give my parents. I still have to browse the site, though, and I hope I’m not too late because I know those holiday fun eyeglasses are really selling like hot cakes. Wish me luck because I sure don't want Mom and Dad to find empty stockings on Christmas morn'!

And They Both Said..."I Do"

Yes, and it happened last night. My brother Erwin and his fiance' Karen finally tied the knot through a simple civil ceremony officiated by Judge Moreno held at the same place where their engagement took place in April of this year. The affair was attended by both our families plus some close friends. And though Karen's mom and sis weren't able to grace the said affair physically, nevertheless, it was a fun-filled night since they were able to witness the event through Skype (nothing is impossible with the new age technology).

The ceremony started at 7 o'clock and it lasted for about an hour. The judge was so witty which made the ceremony not boring at all. We feasted on good food and delish desserts afterward. Yum-oh! I've shared some pictures here and will share more soon. For the meantime, enjoy the ones here.

The church wedding which is the much-awaited event by both our families will be in November, of next year yet. Karen's relatives who are now based in the U.S. will visit the country just to witness the event. It will be a one big happy family affair for sure. We all can't wait!

Butterfly Sanctuary

My son Yogi had his first ever school field trip last month and we visited Durian Garden. It's located in a municipality which is about thirty minute drive from our city. As the name entails, the garden is indeed full of Durian fruits, not to mention Durian trees as well. But it's not all about Durian in there. The place also has its mini zoo, swimming pool which the kids really enjoyed and the butterfly sanctuary which I found the most fascinating of all. It's not my first time to visit the place but it was my first time to see the sanctuary and I was really in awe.

The butterflies were tamed as if they were trained to be like so. A bunch of them landed on my arms, shoulders and blouse as soon as I got in. My friend kidded me that maybe they've found their queen in me. LOL. I was't nervous but their little feet felt so ticklish in my arms so I shooed them.

The butterfly really liked me. He's a boy perhaps. LOL.

Yogi was fascinated with them like me.

I thought Yogi will freak out when the butterflies went to him but gladly, he didn't.

Mount Matutum

This is the volcano that is located near my Cousin Marc's beautiful farm. It would take us about an hour or two drive to get there. It's named Mount Matutum and considered an inactive volcano. I have no idea actually when was the last time it erupted. Maybe I wasn't born then yet.

My BA took this picture around mid afternoon because the volcano wasn't visible in the early part of the day. It was covered with fogs or perhaps those were already clouds.

There it is, its peak partially covered with clouds.

What an Adventure!

In my previous post "A Walk in the Clouds", I've written about visiting my Cousin Marc's beautiful farm situated on top of a hill. But I didn't mention that going there alone was already an adventure. The travel took us about an hour from the city where I live. Then we have to pass vast pineapple fields of Dole plus the rough roads. And look at what happened to us.

There's only about half a kilometer left for us to reach the farm when we saw the road ahead of us partially destroyed, like what you see in the pictures. It always rains in that part of the province which explains the soil erosion. My Cousin Marc who was the one driving thought he could get through it since his car is a 4 x 4 but unfortunately, he didn't. The right rear wheel slid into a culvert and we're stuck. I shouted out of surprise actually and was a little nervous. But the others remained calm including my son Yogi. I'm probably the only one who drinks coffee. LOL.

That's quite a big hole there, huh?

But the guys helped each other while us girls were watching (HeHe), and they were able to get my Cousin Marc's Montero Sport out from that hole in about thirty minutes.

It was truly an adventure, wasn't it?

Every Dad Deserves His Day in the Sun

My dad has been so tied up with work lately to the point of neglecting his social life just to cope with the demands of his job and business. His health is also in danger of being affected because he sometimes skips meals and sleep just to meet deadlines. All of us know that he badly needs R & R (rest and relaxation), and he deserves it after doing such a wonderful job of taking care of his family; it's time for him to now take care of himself and see to his needs, as well as enjoyment.

A Walk in the Clouds

It was my BA's last Sunday here when my cousin Marc invited us to his farm which is situated on top of a hill. My cousin Marc and my BA got along pretty well during my birthday. The two of them have one thing in common, they're both friendly or should I say, gregarious. I wasn't aware about the invitation until my brother told me.

So we went there on Sunday, Sept 6th. The farm is about an hour drive from our city. We traveled through the vast pineapple fields of Dole before we got there and the roads' a little rough but the trip was worth it. It was my first time to have seen the place since my cousin just bought it about a few months ago and boy, it's really beautiful up there. It's like walking in the clouds actually since the place was covered with fog and the climate is so cool. I've shared some pictures here for you to see.

A Gadget Galore Store!

It was two years ago when my BA purchased his Samsung u410 cell phone. He's been using it ever since and he has no plans of getting a new one just yet because it's still good-to-go and gives him great service. He did buy cell phone accessories just recently, though. At first, his only plan was to buy a charger, but after browsing the Samsung accessories at the online store that he came across he saw a headset/microphone combination and felt the urge to buy it instantly. It's so useful, giving him the ability to talk and drive at the same time hands-free, which is very important seeing that there are many new laws in regard to using cell phones while driving.

Accessories abound at that online store, and just browsing through them one by one makes it tough to choose since they are all so cool like the wide array of Samsung Rogue accessories that they’ve got. But my BA didn’t have a hard time at all. He definitely knew what he wanted. But, that's the kind of guy he is; when he wants something, he goes for it. Why else would he have flown halfway around the world just to meet me? (",)

A Thousand Country Roads

Due to my friend's persistence, I created a few more blogs last year but laziness got in my way, so I neglected them to the point of abandoning them which I kind of regretted later. But my urge to continue working on them came back when I met my BA. Well, I think that you know the feeling of being inspired and once you're in that state, you feel like writing a lot of - your thoughts, your feelings, etc. Call me cheesy but it's normal, isn't it?

And so this blog was born, "A Thousand Country Roads." This was not the original title and I changed it for some reason. Why? In April this year, my BA shared a book to me by Robert James Waller and it's entitled... A Thousand Country Roads. It's an epilogue to the other book that he authored, The Bridges of Madison County. My BA sent those two books to me and the story really touched me the same way it touched him. I consider those two books really special, not just because it was given by my BA but also because those two books brought meaningful stories which I don't think I need to elaborate. Hee hee.

Anyway, when I finally decided to have the book's title be the title of this blog, inviting my BA to co-author it crossed my mind too but it took me a while to finally ask him. And he made me so glad when he agreed and didn't have second thoughts at all. So, it's "our" blog. He's already written posts in there and you may check it out so you'll know how poetic he can be. You're probably wondering why I only talk about this blog of ours now. Well, long story. LOL.

So there you go, hope you get to visit our blog sometime. I'm still searching for a layout that would suit our blog but I've not been successful. This will do for now. Just consider those too muffins as BA and me, he's the one with the cherry and I'm the pink one. That will do. What do you think? (",)

Durian Garden...Here We Come!

It's Yogi's first ever field trip today and he's so excited. He used to wake up at 9 o'clock in the morning. But guess what? It's only 6 o'clock but he's already up. That's how excited he is. Parents were invited to come along so i'll be going with him today.

We are going to visit Durian Garden. By the name itself, you could say that there's a lot of Durian fruits there. Absolutely! But that's not only it. They also have a mini zoo which the kids would really find fascinating for sure. They also have a butterfly sanctuary which I don't really find that interesting since I'm afraid of caterpillars. Hee hee.

Anyway, we'll be leaving at 8 o'clock so we have to get ready. Have fun to us! LOL.

Having been born in September, my birthstone is Sapphire, and being the lover of the color blue that I am, the blue Sapphire never fails to fascinate me. But you know what? I wasn’t aware that Sapphire comes in a wide variety of colors. All the while I thought that the only color it was was blue until I read the article, “Sapphires have been recognized for their beauty for centuries” at Web-Articles.info. I learned more about my birthstone because of the article which I found totally fascinating.

I browsed the site more and read some of the articles there including “A Home Staging Challenge”, which told how to improve our home the best way in which it will not only look good in our eyes and in the eyes of others, but also how it can make us feel good about living in it too. Dogwood Tree

This photo was taken by my BA near the grocery store that he frequents. We don't have this kind of tree here in our country that's why I was really fascinated by its beauty. This tree was mentioned in one of the poems that he shared to me. And since then, he's been raring to show me a picture of it until that day that he finally saw a full grown Dogwood tree. He was so glad to have finally shown its beauty to me and I was delighted myself. It's a real beauty, isn't it?

I knew and was aware about the internet for years but I must admit, I still have to learn a lot of things about it. I know I am not the only one who’s in that situation. But the good thing is that I’m learning new stuff all the time and I know I will learn even more with each passing day. Looking back, the day my friend first asked me if I wanted to earn money is still so very vivid to me. I never had second thoughts, even though I still wasn’t aware what it was all about. Since it was about earning money, I was all ears instantly. And since then, my internet lifestyle changed dramatically. Before that, I used to browse the net just to kill the time. I joined social networking sites and gained friends, but that’s about it. That is, until I started to blog, for which I definitely owe a debt of gratitude to my friend. If not for her, I wouldn’t be here. Blogging is really fun. I get to express my ideas and thoughts and share things that I know to people around the globe. ...from an equally sweet person on our special day. Oh well, call me cheesy again but I can't help it. Hee hee. This was the first thing that I saw when I opened my inbox this morning and it really made my day. Today is a special day for my BA and I. And though we're miles apart, the distance didn't hinder us from making our day as special as it can be. And this is just one of the many things that made it so special.
