"Dead" Boy Wakes Up and Asks For Water

A TWO-YEAR-OLD boy sat up in his coffin and asked for water before laying back down again lifeless, according to a Brazilian news website.

Website ORM claimed that Kelvin Santos stopped breathing during treatment for pneumonia at a hospital in Belem, northern Brazil.

He was declared dead at 7.40pm on Friday and his body was handed over to his family in a plastic bag.

The child's devastated family took him home where grieving relatives held a wake throughout the night, with the boy's body laid in an open coffin.

But an hour before his funeral was due to take place on Saturday the boy apparently sat up in his coffin and said: "Daddy, can I have some water?".

The boy's father, Antonio Santos, said: "Everybody started to scream, we couldn't believe our eyes. Then we thought a miracle had taken place and our boy had come back to life.

"Then Kelvin just laid back down, the way he was. We couldn't wake him. He was dead again."

Mr Santos rushed his son back to the Aberlardo Santos hospital in Belem,where the doctors reexamined the boy and confirmed that he had no signs of life.

He said: "They assured me that he really was dead and gave me no explanation for what we had just seen and heard."

The boy's family decided to delay the funeral for an hour in the hope that he would wake up again, but ended up burying him at 5pm that day in a local cemetery.

Convinced that his son was victim of medical malpractice, Mr Santos has now registered a complaint with the police who have launched an investigation

He said: "Fifteen minutes after rushing him away for resuscitation, they came and told me he was dead and handed me his body. Perhaps they didn't examine him properly. Dead people don't just wake up and talk. I'm determined to find out the truth."

The local state department today confirmed the boy had been admitted to hospital in a critical condition and was declared dead after suffering cardiac-respiratory failure. - Heraldsun

I find this story really amazing and at the same time intriguing. What's there after life? No living creature can explain that. You have to be dead to know the answer. It's one of the few questions that can't be answered.

"One man was shot to death by Miami police, and another man is fighting for his life after he was attacked and his face allegedly half eaten, by a naked man on the MacArthur Causeway off ramp, police said.

The bloodshed began about 2 p.m. when a series of gunshots were heard on the ramp, which is along NE 13th Street, just south of The Miami Herald building. Witnesses said a woman saw the two men fighting and flagged down a police officer who was in the area.

The officer, who has not been identified, approached and saw that the naked man was actually chewing the other man’s head, according to witnesses. The officer ordered the naked man to back away, and when he continued the assault, the officer shot him. The attacker continued to eat the man, despite being shot, forcing the officer to continue firing. Witnesses said they heard at least a half dozen shots.

Miami police were on the scene, which was just south of The Miami Herald building on Biscayne Boulevard. The naked man who was killed lay face down on the pedestrian walkway just below the newspaper’s two-story parking garage. Police requested The Herald’s video surveillance tapes.

The other man was transported to the hospital with critical injuries, according to police. Their identities were not released.

The incident, which came as crowds descended upon South Beach for the annual Urban Beach Week hip-hop festival, snarled traffic on the causeway for several hours.

In a text message, Javier Ortiz, spokesman for Miami police’s Fraternal Order of Police, said the officer who fired the fatal shots was “a hero.”

“Based on the information provided, our Miami police officer is a hero and saved a life,’’ he said.

Sergeant Altarr Williams, supervisor of Miami police’s Homicide Unit, said a man doesn’t have to be armed to be dangerous.

“There are other ways to injure people,’’ Williams said. “Some people know martial arts, others are very strong and can kill you with their hands.’’ "

While traveling through the desert somewhere in north west Africa in his Citroen 2CV , [Emile] is stopped, and told not to go any further due to some military conflicts in the area. Not wanting to actually listen to this advice, he decides to loop around, through the desert, to circumvent this roadblock.

After a while of treading off the beaten path, [Emile] manages to snap a swing arm on his vehicle, leaving him stranded. He decided that the best course of action was to disassemble his vehicle and construct a motorcycle from the parts. This feat would be impressive on its own, but remember, he’s still in the desert and un-prepared. If we’re reading this correctly, he managed to drill holes by bending metal and sawing at it, then un-bending it to be flat again.

It takes him twelve days to construct this thing. There are more pictures on the site, you simply have to go look at it. Feel free to translate the labels and post them in the comments.

I have to say pretty impressive, but there's something in me telling it's all scripted.

Man Forced to Stand on Plane For 7 Hours. (Annoying)

The passenger who had to stand during a seven-hour flight because of a morbidly obese man sitting next to him has today spoken about his ordeal.

Arthur Berkowitz, 57, said his 400lb neighbour on US Airways Flight 901 from Anchorage to Philadelphia made it impossible to get into his seat.

The obese man spilled over into Mr Berkowitz's personal space and he could not move because the plane was full so he was forced to stand up.

'His size required both armrests to be raised up and allowed for his body to cover half of my seat,’ he told the website, elliott.org.

US Airways has since apologised for the 'regrettable' incident. A statement said: 'Our intention is to offer the best travel experience possible.

'The details you have provided indicate that we have failed to meet our intentions.' It offered Mr Berkowitz a $200 voucher in compensation.

But he called this 'inappropriate' after paying more than $800 for the ticket. He also complained the airline has not fixed the safety issue.

'I mean, leaving a passenger with no alternative but to stand for almost seven hours - if that’s true, then this might be one of those rare cases when a full refund is in order.'

Mr Berkowitz told MailOnline he raised the issue primarily because he wants the airline and authorities 'to develop a policy on safety'.

This is so Annoying if you ask me, If I were that skinny man, I would have trashtalked that fat guy, no he is not a gentleman, he knew he's suppose to buy two seats instead, he is selfish that's all I can say.

If you know that you're bigger than your seat, you should ask if you need to buy two tickets. If you do, just pay them. Less people would be judging fat people if they were a little more thoughtful. I wouldn't have stood up. The man didn't get fat in a night. When he bought the tickets he knew that he needed two seats. He didn't bought two. He shouldn't have been allowed to use two. Non-morbidly-obese man should have kept his seat. Also: Most fat people are fat because of dietary habits and lack of exercise. Sure, you can be a bit overweight from eating cheap, fast food because you can't afford to eat better. But you don't get enormous that way, unless you eat too much cheap fast food and then that means you can afford better food and, thus, you can avoid being obese. Some fat people are sick/disabled and they do deserve consideration, but they are a minority.

'Sesame Street' composer in child porn bust

COLUMBIA, S.C. — An award-winning composer and former fine arts instructor at a private school in Charleston pleaded not guilty Monday to making child pornography.

Fernando Rivas, 59, also pleaded not guilty to using a computer to send the images across state lines and possessing child pornography images in April 2011.

Federal prosecutors said that in 2010 and 2011, Rivas coerced a person under the age of 18 to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of taking pictures.

Also Monday, Rivas posted 10 percent of a $300,000 bond and was placed on house arrest except for work or other court-sanctioned outings, records show. He was also ordered not to have contact with the alleged victim, not to access the Internet or be around any children without supervision.

Neither Rivas nor his attorney immediately responded to messages Monday.

According to police records, officers with the North Charleston Police Department and FBI searched Rivas' Ladson home in April after a person arrested in New Jersey led them to Rivas. On Rivas' computer, officers said they found numerous pictures of child pornography, some of which had been sent to the person arrested in New Jersey.

Rivas also faces state charges of sexual exploitation of a minor, but that case is on hold during the federal action against him, according to a spokesman for North Charleston police.

Rivas worked as a jazz music instructor at Charleston private school Porter-Gaud from 2002 until 2009, when he left because of increasing work elsewhere, head of school DuBose Egleston said Monday. The indictment does not say whether the alleged victim was a Porter-Gaud student or had any connection to the school.

"We are unaware of any connection between the charges against him and Porter-Gaud, but we are cooperating with law enforcement in their investigation," Egleston told The Associated Press in a statement.

According to his professional website, Rivas was born in Cuba and graduated from the Juilliard School of Music. Writing music for television, radio, film and theater, Rivas won Emmys in 1995 and 1996 for his work on "Sesame Street." In 1998, Gloria Estefan recorded one of his songs on "Elmopalooza," a Sesame Street Productions piece that won a Grammy for best children's album.

Porter-Gaud was embroiled in scandal in the 1990s when former students claimed a teacher had sexually abused them. Eddie Fischer, who taught at Porter-Gaud and other area schools, died in 2002 while serving a 20-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to sex abuse charges.

Dozens of former students sued Porter-Gaud, alleging administrators did little or nothing to stop Fischer when he worked there in the 1970s and 1980s, and a jury in 2000 awarded $105 million in damages. That case and more than 20 others were later settled out of court for tens of millions of dollars.

Sesame Street' Composer Accused of Cuffing 4-Year-Old, Taking Sex Pics

A Grammy-winning composer who worked on “Sesame Street” has been charged with making and distributing child pornography -- after allegedly handcuffing a 4-year-old girl, naked, and taking pictures.

59-year-old Fernando Rivas appeared in a South Carolina federal court yesterday -- where he pled "not guilty," according to the Charleston Post & Courier.

Rivas was arrested back in April -- after FBI agents raided the composer's home and, according to court docs, the feds claim they discovered a collection of photographs ... depicting a 4-year-old girl naked and “restrained in handcuffs and other bondage-type devices."

According to the report, cops say Rivas -- who also taught music at a local Charleston school -- admitted to officers that he took the pictures of the little girl and emailed them to two other sickos.

Rivas remains on house arrest after posting $300,000 bail.

"A Miami Gardens transgender woman is facing charges of practicing medicine without a license after police say she injected a patient's rear with everything but the kitchen sink in an illegal cosmetic surgery procedure.
Oneal Ron Morris, 30, was arrested Friday after an investigation by Miami Gardens Police and the Florida Department of Health.
According to police, the victim saw Morris in May and was injected in her buttocks with a substance consisting of cement, "Fix a Flat," mineral oil and super glue.

The amateur incision was then sealed with super glue, police said. The victim was later hospitalized with a serious medical condition as a result of the injections.
Morris, who police say is a man but appears to look like a woman and sports an apparently enhanced rear herself in arrest photos, was being held on $7,500 bond. it was unknown whether she has an attorney.
Police believe there may be other victims of Morris who may be afraid to come forward. They said the victims haven't done anything illegal and shouldn't be afraid to come forward."

"CLEVELAND (Reuters) - A 13-year-old boy has been arrested for the rape of a 5-year-old girl at a McDonald's Playland in southern Ohio, police said Friday.

The assault allegedly occurred on October 29 in Anderson Township, near Cincinnati. The 5-year-old old was visiting the restaurant with her grandmother and playing in the Playland area at the time of the alleged attack.After investigating the complaint, the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department on Wednesday released a photo of the suspect from the McDonald's camera to the news media, according to Lieutenant Michael L. Hartzler, a district commander.The next day, the boy and his parents came into his department for an interview. Hartzler will not disclose what was said in the interview, but the juvenile was taken into custody.He doesn't know whether the suspect will be tried as an adult. "Ultimately that will be decided by a juvenile court judge," Hartzler said.In a statement, the owner of the McDonald's, Judson Pickard said, "The safety and well-being of my customers, especially children, is extremely important. "TMZ Porn legend Sasha Grey — winner of the 2010 AVN award for best anal sex scene — was invited to read books to 1st graders at an L.A.-area elementary school last week … but the school tried to cover it all up … after parents pitched a fit. TMZ has obtained photos of Sasha reading children’s books at Emerson Elementary School in Compton on November 2nd … participating in the Read Across America program. Grey, who hasn’t done porn in 2 years, may have been invited because she’s mainstream now, with credits which include “Entourage.” Sasha tweeted about the experience — calling the students the “sweetest” ever. However, not everyone saw it that way … some angry parents complained to the PTA — who then contacted the school’s principal … but there’s one problem. A rep for the school district is flatly denying Sasha was ever inside one of its classrooms — telling TMZ, “We have several celebrities who read to our students each year. The actress you have indicated [Sasha] was not present.”

Damn, People give everyone a chance, She was pretty looking decent young lady in front of the kids, not like she is all naked and teaching them stupid or horny stuffs. People nowadays are so judgemental.

I didn't have a dorm room, so I slept on the floor in friends' rooms, I returned coke bottles for the 5 cent deposits to buy food with, and I would walk the seven miles across town.

Steve Jobs really inspired a lot of people and that includes me. Rest in Peace, the world has lot an amazing human being again. T_T
