or 13

<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-r9JCyESfiO4/UH9VSeHRufI/AAAAAAAAAS0/LVK2oIVeEps/s1600/tantrum.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; been warned already I was in for some 'fun' times (so to speak) but I didn't realize what how emotionally unbalanced he would be. It's like he's a 13 year old in a 3 year old body.

Lets begin with today's breakdown as an example. He really wanted to watch giego (Diego) but honestly I'm kinda Diego'd out so I thought we'd try something new. Well, I put on a movie "Fireman Sam" Kid LOVES firemen, fire trucks, and all things related! Thought he would LOVE this! NOPE! He cried for 30 minutes strait! You know I'm torturing him MAKING him watch cartoons.

Another lovely example would be the time he stomped around the house for half an hour yelling NO at me cause he didn't want to change his diaper. Yes I realize this was worthy of a time out, but honestly I thought it was kinda funny- and at age 3 I've learned to pick my battles. This was not one of them.

When exactly did I start raising a 13 year old? Beware the evil 3s are out to get me! Have I mentioned it's only just begun? Not to mention I have a GIRL that has to go through 2 and 3 yet. I can't imagine that will be any easier.

At least we made it through the day and he's in bed. Tomorrow is a new day right?

Hey, life is busy! I have a 3 year old and a 16 month old... what can I say! However, yesterday my 3 year old said something I could help but blog about.

So after a long day of "No B" and "Stop sitting on your sister!!" he finally gave me something to laugh about. As a matter of fact I think I actually snorted it was that funny. He told me he had a 'stinky' (our word for a poopy diaper) so I went to change it. Not but a minute after wiping his little tush did he tell me "Mama you broke my penis!" I did what? I couldn't help but bust out laughing. Of course he looked at me like I was strange (he doesn't have that one wrong). I looked back at it, there was nothing wrong with it. Honestly, where does he get this stuff?

Of course I knew there was nothing wrong when five minutes after he told me this his little monkey butt is swinging from my curtains (literally)... I think he's trying to kill me!

The adventures of age 3 have only begun. I can't imagine what else this year will bring. Does it get better when they turn 4? I surely hope so! But that means little Diva will be 2 and it just starts all over again. *sigh*.

Oh the fun!

I can't believe she's one! E's our last baby, so this was so bittersweet for me, it was the last first birthday party I'll ever plan. It will be the last of all the firsts for us. Everything from here on out will be bittersweet.

Part of me feels so sad that they are growing up so fast. The other part of me is glad to lose things like the bottle and formula. Anyway, I'll be posting pictures of her party as soon as I can get a few together. We celebrated with some family and close friends with 'Fancy Nancy' party. She wasn't feeling very well so she didn't have to much fun. :( Maybe next year she'll have a better time.

Onto a year of new firsts...
I would love to do it for B. Look at how cute it is. She used a circut to help her with the scrabble letters, an old baby wrap for the book holders, and the 'couch' is actually an old coffee table with a piece of foam and a crib sheet on top! Genius! Now if only I had the room. One day...

So we started to think about putting B into preschool this year, it was on our minds but school starts in September and we thought we had time, actually a lot of time. So my husband and I put it on the back burner while we dealt with other things for awhile. Apparently that was a bad call...

What I was unaware of is preschool around here is a competitive sport. Not joking. These women have there daggers out, lucky for me a nice mom in my playgroup mentioned you need to register early (a few weeks from the day she told me). In January! Are you joking me! Nine months away from the start date. "Otherwise you won't get a spot".

Later that week I attended a preschool fair held at our church put on by another local MOMs club. I got form after form of things your kids needed to attend preschool, it amazed me it's not like I'm shipping him off to boarding school or something. Are you all going to background check me too? For goodness sakes it's just preschool!!! And because he's so young, I kept hearing "Well we can put you on a waiting list" What is this crap about registering early to get a spot but being put on a waiting list? I guess I need claws like the other mommy's.

Turns out we decided not to put him in preschool this year. I figured he didn't need the early start, he's got his abc's and he's already starting to spell what more does he need? Not to mention all the loops I needed to jump through seemed kinda insane. And the price!!! Lets not even go there!!!

Did anyone else send there child to preschool early? Was it beneficial?

Happy Valentines Day

So I took a break from blogging cause life got a little nuts. This past weekend I went to speak at a conference about epilepsy. I know it's not something I talk about often on the blog but hey if you have it flaunt it right ;)

Anyway, I was able to share my story about having brain surgery and successfully giving birth to two beautiful healthy children and received very good feedback. I would love to do it again. But back to the reason why I was so busy. Leaving for a trip all while leaving two kids behind can be STRESSFUL! And that's putting it nicely.

So it pretty much took me all week to get ready and get the kids set for a whole team of people to come watch them (for the whole three days I was gone) I mean you'd think I was gone for two weeks or something. But everything turned out great they where still in one piece when I got home and happily playing with there toys just like I never left (although I do think E was pretty stoked to see me) glad to know I was missed. :)

So how's everyone been doing? I've missed the blogging world while I was away. I'm finally getting back into my rhythm so I should be posting more again. Phew!

Valentines Day via Pintrest.

I adore pintrest.
So I thought in this blog (and maybe a couple others) I would share some of my current 'Valentines' pins with you. :)

Anywhooo... B LOVES this. If Mommy or Daddy are in the bathroom he will sing this to us, what it hasn't done is encourage him to use the damn potty...arggggggg! And yet we are still listening to it. Look I don't need the Potty Dance song to help me go to the bathroom!

This song will forever haunt me.
I'm what the call a crabby ass bitch unless I get at least 5 hours of decent sleep at night. Last night seems to be one of those nights where Mr. Sandman decided to skip out on my dose of 'sand' and quite possibly dosed the damn dog instead.

I went down to bed at around 10 and instantly knew it wasn't going to be a good sleep night. My husband had already fallen asleep watching Seinfeld - dumb show (see I'm crabby) anyway... I knew his unmistakably loud snoring would be in my near future, turns out I was right and within <strike>minutes</strike> seconds it had started. So I nudge him... it stops for a minute and I roll over.

And then I hear... the old dog.... but she's not just snoring. She's also having dream sequences that include her legs moving in the running motion and barking. Fantastic now we are in the middle of a dog park, with a snoring man... what else could go wrong.

I guess I shouldn't have asked that. Mr. Sandman clearly forgot to dose my kids too, good guy he is. Anyway both of them thought it was playtime at midnight. Ahhh sorry kiddos got that one wrong. Mommy's off duty until tomorrow at approx. 6 a.m. Until then I will take care of diapers and bottles but no more playing. Us mommies need sleep too, hard to believe I know. After all we are pretty super. ;)

I guess I should consider myself lucky. My kids are normally very good sleepers...so this is pretty rare. They will just get an extra nap today and I will need a little extra caffeine. So on that note it's off to make some coffee.

A Kid in the Bed...

And the mom and dad said ... MOVE OVER!

B's new thing is watching his 'video's' in our bed. Greg started this when I was gone visiting my sister for a few days. It was an easy way to keep him and E contained and entertained, and well lets be honest he could be lazy. Well now B thinks he owns the bed.

When it's nap time where does B go? Our bedroom door. What does he say? Sleep in the big bed, Mama? *sigh* And when I say lets sit down and have quiet time and watch cartoons. I hear: Big bed, Mama? What did my husband get us into? He's NEVER been allowed into our bedroom prior to this!

I'm leaving for San Fransisco in a couple weeks, I can only imagine what things he will learn when I'm away this time. Maybe by the time I come he'll just be sleeping in our bed. ;)

Have you ever had to break a child of a bad habit? How'd you go about it?

Barbie is going Bald?

I saw an article last night for a bunch of women on facebook trying to get barbie to go bald. You can read it here. The reasoning behind making barbie bald? For kids going through cancer treatments and letting them know and understand bald IS beautiful!

I love this! I think it's a fantastic idea! I do think I can relate on a level having to be bald once myself while going through brain surgery. But that just makes me feel more compassion for little/young girls who lose there hair.

It's a hard thing to lose your hair. I felt like I was losing a part of me, what makes me a women. I admit I even cried when I knew it was going to happen. This bothered me more then having brain surgery (I know crazy right?) But I knew the judgement I would get, and the scars people would see. But enough about me... if you feel that this is a fantastic idea like I do please go over to the facebook page and click LIKE, it's a pretty simple thing to do.

Who knows maybe Mattel will listen and the next thing we will see on the shelves will be bald is beautiful barbie :)

Weight Loss Update.

So I started this biggest loser challenge with some ladies from my birth board, it's going really well so far. I've lost 8lbs in two weeks and I lost 5lbs last week (now I think that was an initial shock loss). I doubt that will happen again.

This week I started '30 day shred' by Jillian Micheals that women is an evil evil women. That shit is wicked! I admit, I haven't worked out in, well I can't say I've ever been really serious about working out. I've done workout videos for a week here or a week there, but get frustrated with the skinny bitches and turn them off after a week.

My body had an interesting reaction. It was like what the ^&*@ is going on! It was a serious shock to my system. I think it must have been thinking, first you take away all the good food and now you exercise what's gotten into you?

So I guess I'm attempting to keep up on one of my New Years goals. And I'm on my way to another,I wanted to make 100 followers on my blog, now at 34 (thanks guys!). It's a good start to the New Year in general, now if I can just keep this up and now punk out like all the other times.

Spelling...

Is no longer safe!!!

Lately B is really into spelling words Ant, Duck, Cat, Dog... he will ask what something is and ask you to spell it. This is awesome! Except I forgot something (maybe a few times) and spelled a cuss word out (I mean I can't say them anymore) after all I'm raising a parrot.

Turns out B heard me spell A-S-S when talking to my husband the other day. Seriously, this kid needs to stop having such good hearing for just a few minutes! So yesterday he walks into the living room and goes mama A-S-S, I about had a heart attack!

Holy Shit, did he just spell what I think he spelled? What do I do now? Do I ignore him? Oh my goodness, I have like 5 seconds before he does it again? So what did I do you ask? I asked him how to spell Dog. The art of distraction can be an amazing tool for a mommy with a 2 year old. Now I can only hope that he will not remember it and scream it in the middle of Target or god forbid playgroup!

Now I just have to remember: No more spelling cuss words and goodness knows I can NOT say them. Guess I will just have to use replacement words when I'm frustrated. My uncle had a good one when his girls where growing up: Rat Farts. Maybe I will implement that, or come up with something similar and as amusing.

Do you have any funny phrases you use instead of cussing?

Wordless Wednesday - This made me laugh. :)

Often times I find it keeps me out more then it does the kids. I was putting a lock on our 'snack closet' (at least that's what our two year old thinks it is) it's really our pantry, and for the life of me I couldn't get the damn thing open. SERIOUSLY!

What shocks me most is the kids figure the stuff out before I can. B has our gate down and although I know exactly how to work it, there are days I still struggle with it. *Sigh*

The next thing I think we might have to do is get a lock for the toilet. B is totally obsessed with the toilet lately. Throwing stuff in there and flushing it is our newest battle. He knows how mad it makes me so it's something he does purposely when I am feeding the baby. Imagine the issues I am going to have with the toilet lock if I have problems with the damn gate, OYE! He'll probably figure it out in minutes too. Sometimes I think he's to smart for his own good, or maybe my good?

Soon enough we will need to be re-baby proofing because E is getting to the point of crawling (well she's rolling). We just got our house back to somewhat normal. Things could be on a normal person level again. I guess we are starting over again. The joys of having two young children, hopefully by the time she's 2 we will be able to have it back at the level it is now. Only another year and half of all this Sam proof crap.

So do you have as much trouble with the 'baby/kid proof' stuff as I do or am I just a total spaz? :)

Samantha.
The one that thinks her child is <s>a</s> <s>genius</s> smart. I admit it. Of course I don't go around telling the world how smart he is, unless of course they ask. :)

Have you ever experienced a mom who drives you nuts though? (hopefully I'm not that mom). I've found now that I'm in playgroup I've experienced a plethora of different 'types' of mom's. I've named them.

*none of these explanations refer to a specific mother in my direct playgroup the are generalizations*

She might even mention her baby doing it earlier then yours is just to burn you a little more.

The Mine is Much Worse Mom: Think your going through a tough time with your little kiddo. NOPE! This mama has had a MUCH worse time with hers, and don't worry your about to hear all about it. You might even get some suggestions (even though they didn't work for her).

The Northshore Nancy: This mommy is the ultimate stay at home mom (just ask her). She's super mom, and brags about it. She has her kids on a strict schedule. 30 minutes at the park, music lessons, soccer, and then it's home for dinner and homework. Her kids are all on the honor roll and she has the bumper sticker to prove it.

The "Talker": She starts every sentence with "Did you hear?" and has all the latest gossip, do not EVER tell this mom anything!

The "My Kid is Right" Mom: Say your kid just happens to get into a spat with this mom's child and it's not your child's fault. Well to this mom no matter the situation her child is ALWAYS right. She never makes s/he apologize either, what kinda lesson is that?

The Social Media Mom: Everything her kids do or say is plastered all over twitter and facebook. Lots of pictures too. LOTS!

I've covered the ones I know about, have I forgot any? Do you get annoyed by any one type of mom? The idea, a threat. The thought, well unthinkable. I finally realized how thankful I am for this fight.

Little humans hate napping right? I know mine do, they fight it all the way (albeit it is still much needed). B would do anything not to nap, he even tries to turn my attention away from it onto just about anything else. He's even turned to throwing himself on the ground in attempt to get a time-out. Nice try, still getting a nap. ;)

Fast forward several years... lets say middle school. It's going to be a FIGHT getting them up in the morning. Right now, B waits for me by his door in the morning and E wakes up smiling in her crib. Those days will one day be over and I will be going in there and hearing "5 more minutes MOM" *sigh*

These are the moments I'm thankful for the fighting at nap time and realize that they only stay little so long, I only have so much time to 'enjoy' these moments. Trying as they may be... kids are only little once.

Now it's time to fight about a nap. :)

It's Official

Well it's official, I'm an auntie. Little H was born on Tuesday night at 11:32 she's the most beautiful little sweetie I've seen (since my kiddo's). My sister and her husband are already the most adorable parents and I must say that I've never seen my sister so smitten with someone in all our lives. They live an 1.5 away and I just can't wait to get back there and hold and cuddle H again.

BUT... I admit, I missed my babies. Being away for a day two days (longest I've been away so far) really makes you miss 'em. Even when the 2 year old is a tantrum throwing mad man. ;) I woke up this morning so excited to go into B's room and get him out and his first words to me "Where is Daddy?" Seriously?!?! :( I guess he's a schedule kid so he was getting used to Daddy waking him up but I wanted that "Mommmmmy" reaction, ya know? At least E had big smiles and lots of wiggles for me.

The only down fall of coming back is both kids have colds and hubs has a 'Man Cold'. I don't understand how I leave and the kids and him get a cold and they haven't really been sick all winter yet. It makes no sense. I guess this means no visiting H until we get over the plague that has infested our house.

Now off to be the booger catcher.

I'm Bored... so I eat

Lock the fridge and throw away the key! Diet here I come!

Okay so I'm really not bored but it's more I sit around the house playing with the kids and clean up... blah blah blah and I eat. B will ask for a snack, so I snack with him. I really need to stop this habit. It's no good for me.

I started this Biggest Loser Challenge with some ladies I met when I was pregnant with E, and I know I have to stick to a certain number of calories a day. So why is it when I know I can't eat this or that... I feel FAMISHED. In reality, I'm not famished I just know I can NOT and therefore I want more.

I HATE dieting, I actually despise it. Not only do I suck at it, but it sucks equally. I hate exercising too! It's extra hard in winter because I can't go outside and walk to the park and play with the kids, NOOOOO I have to stay inside and do some stupid workout video with some super skinny bitch on it.

That's another thing, why do they put skinny bitches on workout video's? I will NEVER look like Jillian Micheals I have had two kids and have hips, OKAY! Look I'm fine with that, but I don't want to look at her and her skinny friends teach me how to do abs alright, ALRIGHT! What kinda motivation is that? Give me a regular size girl and I might be motivated, but not a scrawny little thing that says "Alright 5 more!" easy for her to say. Psssh.

Alright I'm going to find a <strike>rice cake</strike> cardboard before I eat my hand.

Our Weekend.

So my in laws came this weekend. SURPRISE! Seriously, it was a surprise. They called the morning they were coming and asked if it was okay. Ummm sure? This is one of those moments I wish I had the above floor mat for outside my door, except mine needs to say 5 minutes ago. I mean I do have a <strike>2 year old</strike> tornado living with me.

Luckily they did give us SOME notice and hubs and I did a quick clean up of the house. When they came we had to run to the store for something for dinner (spaghetti and meatballs) we ended up watching a movie and they stayed till about 7:30. It was fun.

Hubs and I then decided to throw in another movie Eat, Pray, Love. It was pretty good, we made it till about 11:45 and said that's it and went to bed. I had to do church school this morning, and am tired as heck! At least they let us wear our pj's (to church).

So that's what we did this weekend what did you do?
