CPIB an Independent Organisation and the Official Secret Act

Speaking on the sidelines of River Hongbao 2012 - an event hosted by the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Teo Chee Hean said: "I am quite disappointed that these two cases have arisen. Nevertheless, it does demonstrate the strength of our system - that any such allegations will be fully and thoroughly investigated. I was wondering if CPIB is really an Independent Organisation under the PMO's office? Perhaps the Today Paper and the big paper such the Business Times had had made a mistake. But the Org Chart of PMO says differently. So who is right? So confusing!

The other supposing to be an independent stat board should be the Election Department.

How can the Prime Minister do not know about the on going investigations on the 2 MHA big wigs? After all the CPIB is under PMO right? My own guess is the PMO had issued a gag order on this investigation because of the Ministerial Salary debate was on going in Parliament and news that creates cracks in PAP's flawed ideology should be postponed after that debate.

What if I am an officer involved in the CPIB investigation and out of love for my country Singapore told or tipped off the new or old medias, I will be charged under the Official Secret Act if found out. Morally, I will do it but I cannot do it because the law will be coming after me.

I am sure the Official Secret Act serves to protect SINGAPORE against any spying activities by foreign powers, but from what I saw, the Act is used to cover up any shameful "mistakes" that will make the PAP government lose face.

For example if a SAF officer some how was caught behaving in a manner unfit being an officer such as taking upskirt photos, molest etc of the females within a SAF facility, that officer was ask to resign quietly. And what if a NSF clerk told his reporter friend about it and the news were leaked, was the NSF right by telling his reporter friend? Is the government right to charge the NSF?

After all, the Stat Boards such the CPIB and Election Department are not Independent at all because all of them report to the PMO.

Hillview Estate formerly under SDP - Now bare field for private development with Hiller underdevelopment

This is the plot of land formerly housed the Hillview HDB estate that once was SDP's strong hold. After their defeat in 1997 in the former Bt Gombak Constituency, Hillview residents living in HDB estate were "en Bloc"ed after 1997 and resettled into PAP friendly GRC (I suppose its Choa Chu Kang GRC).

Are ordinary Singaporeans who believed in a political belief had to pay the price for voting oppositions? That was in 1997, and in 2011, another different political chapter had emerged and people are not afraid to vote for opposition parties. After all, no voice in parliament is no democracy at all. How often if you go Meet the People Sessions you can see the MPs?

Co-incidentally, TRE also had an article about this plot of land.

How many dirty tricks can PAP play to win votes in future elections? People had already seen through their evil plans and voted with their eyes open!

Saving Account Leger Balance = $1.00 (Its quite common)

I was drawing money at an ATM Machine and someone had left the Transaction Receipt behind. I took it and take a look:

Withdrawal $20.00, Ledger Balance $1.00.

Assume that this person is a Singaporean, I just got reminded that not many people are rich. Take a look at those Transaction Receipts left behind, how many people have 4 or 5 figures in their banks? Local Banks will charge Account Holders if their balance are below $500.00. Sometimes $20.00 means alot to poor families.

Or course, this could be a foreigners', Students' account.

Integration by India Indians. Sure or not??

Every day, I saw many Indian Ladies wearing Sari (not the Tamils Sari that local Indians wear) and its not even Deepavali! PAP Gov always says we Singaporeans should integrate with the Foreigners such as Pinoys, PRCs, Indians etc (How come not the other way round asking foreigners to integrate with local population?)

The demands from the Hindi speaking India Indians for their children language proficiency and the classes setup to cater to this need reinforces PAP policy of making Singapore to accommodate to Foreigners' demands. The banner above tells a thousands words.

What next? Making Hindi the 5th official language? How about making Tagalog the 6th official language too?

Foreigners Setup Own Business to Employ their own kind

PAP always think that foreigners are good to establish businesses in Singapore so that they can help Singaporeans get better employment. However, that is further than the truth. In 2006, there are many PRCs opening up Massage Parlours and the authorities only started to clamp down before the 2006 General Election. Even the underground Massage Industry was dominated by Cheap PRCs offer sex services at a discount.

In the advertisement below, the Myanmar Recruitment Agency claiming to able to source Foreign Talent such as General Workers, Cooks, Waiters, Kitchen Helpers, Washers, Cleaners. Further checking their profile at MOM website reveal that ALL their staffs are foreigners. Their Levies must very high if they are Work Permit Holders.

However, I strongly believed that these foreigners in the Recruitment Company are S Pass holders or even PRs. The PAP government so called tweaked the work passes by restricting and increasing Levies for Work Permit workers after a poor result of 60.1 % support rate is not really helping ordinary Singaporeans who are earning $2000 and above. The actual fact is that the S Passes or even E Passes are being abused by employers abetting employees to "cash back" their salary to the employers.

Will this Myanmar Recruitment company employ Singaporeans? No.

So called "Foreign Talent" arriving into Singapore

I was at Singapore Changi Airport and saw a Foreign Trash man receiving his family into Singapore with many luggage being loaded into his company's lorry. If really talent, shouldn't this man drives a car, MPV or SUV to receive his family? Why a lorry?

I may be wrong that this family may be Singaporean and I was observing hard in case this family is Singaporean. But from the look, they should be from Myanmar region or even Nepalese.

I was wondering what class of work pass these Trashes can bring their family over? I check MOM website and it says:

P1, P2, Q1 Employment Pass and S Pass holders with a fixed monthly salary of at least $2,800 may apply for Dependant’s Passes for their:

- spouses
- unmarried or legally adopted children under 21 years of age

Those Foreign Trash whom qualifying salary of at least $2800 are eligible to bring their spouses and unmarried children below 21 years old means these people are direct competition with Singaporeans workers whom salary is from $2800. Do we really need these people to clog up our infrastructures and competing with us for jobs and housing in tiny Singapore?

Parking Idiots at Science Centre (Toyota Wish SGR8150U & Lexus SKA4761A)

I tried to refrain from posting idiotic parking pictures to this blog but last week at Science Centre carpark, a scene really tickles my funny bones! Its not the idiot parking that caught my attention, it was 2 white paper posted at the windscreen which I thought I was a parking summon. But hey, Science Centre is free parking and how come got summon tickets?

Being curious, I walked over and saw 2 notices people left for the driver of Toyota Wish SGR8150U. Its really a bad case of parking inconsiderately, even thought its free parking, please think of other people bringing their kids to Science Centre :)

After I going to leave Science Centre, I saw another car, this time a Lexus SKA4761A also seem that its driver also need to go back to the driving centre for parking lessons. LOL!

In Case of No Air, Break Windows with Fire Extinguisher

SMRT Chairwoman cum CEO had done it not only once but 4 times! First two were incidents of Vandalism to the SMRT Train by 2 groups of vandals. Who knows that after months another breakin to the SMRT Depot had happened again....... Burned twice and yet never learn from mistake. But I am sure that some body's head except for Ms Saw's head rolled. After she help SMRT to grow their share prices and dividends.

The only smart thing she did to grow the company is because Singapore PAP government had raised the barrier to foreigners finding work and working in Singapore.... Did she grow SMRT without this population explosion??

Despite many people who fell accidentally or committed suicides at SMRT tracks, SMRT had been dragging their feet to install safety barriers at above ground stations.

SMRT liked the PAP government never listen and take its passengers for granted. It reminded of of Wong Kan Seng, whom Ministry of Home Affair had managed to allow Mas Salamet to escape from supposing a Top Security detention facility at Whitley. Who's head rolled? Camp Commander and some junior staffs rolled only. Even thought WKS is no longer a Minister, he is still a MP. Drawing $15,000 doing nothing.

Imagine the sleepless night Ms Saw had last week when SMRT Trains had broken down and people trapped for 2 hours, and SMRT yet broken down again on Saturday and the train service had only been restored after 11am on Sunday....

It by god's grace that there are no electrical fault that resulted a electrical fire in the tunnel. I cannot imagined the people that may be killed for smoke inhalation or fire......

SMRT had these security awareness (or scare tactics by PAP) of terrorism by showing video of potential terrorists and security patrols but they had left the most basic fundamental of running of a train system behind; the process of evacuation or passengers and dealing with massive disruption caused by technical issues. If we cannot do this well, then how can we deal with terrorism?

I was reading insing website and saw this interesting news about a Qantas Pilot caught making out with a woman in the first class cabin. The crappy insing used the old photo of Qantas A380 engine failure photo to report the juicy news with the striking red background "PILOT UNDER INVESTIGATION"

At closer look, the fire men were spraying the left wing with water or foam and a fire man was seen boarding the A380 with a stair at the aircraft right side. Looking at another picture from Reuter, insing seem to have copied Reuter's pictures to report this news.

Insing also did not put the source of the picture used for "PILOT UNDER INVESTIGATION". Is Singtel the parent of insing under Temasek holding was trying to discredit Qantas?

Saw this video from TOC.

The year was 1991, the population of Singapore is about 3mil. But now even though now the population is 5 mil, other than the circle line, NEL and Down line being operated or under construction, the original E-W, N-S Line is still the same since the first opening.

PAP always wanted the Singapore population to hit 6.5 million and did not "foresee" building and expanding existing infrastructures. If they get their way, then SMRT or SBS Transit will have to employ passenger packers to push people into the train coaches. Then ladies will have to forget about their modesty. Is that what Singaporeans wanted?

Christmas is coming and Singapore is playing Santa Clause to "poorer" ASEAN nations by pledging S$50mil to help them overcome the storm forecast from Europe. Personally, the S$50mil is not printed from PAP's money printing machine. The amount are the people's money gained by PAP through the various means of taxes, surplus etc. Its not PM Lee's ah kong's money too!

Why spend on other countries that cannot help themselves and the pledge is liked pouring money into vast pit without any quenching and not spend S$50mil on our own people? Liked helping poor old folks to spend their twilight years more comfortability?

Our 7269 votes President Tony Tan who suppose to spend his working time looking after our reserve is not going to do anything about this? I could remember during Asian Crisis when then PM Goh wanted to loan S$10 Billion to Indonesia but luckily Dr Chee Soon Juan "cry father cry mother" and PAP quickly said the Indonesians did not need the loan at all.

S$50mil is loose change compared to then S$10 Billions but still President Tony Tan should make some noise unless the Presidential Key does not lock the source of the S$50mil!

Ok to Work Continuously Non-Stop for 12 Days???

I was reading the Employment Act in the MOM website and was shocked that a worker under the Employment Act (those earning < $2000) is legally able to work continuously for 12 days with 1 day off. Therefore, its perfectly alright to make people working as dishwasher, cleaner, or plate collectors to work 12 days with 1 day off....... All I can see that our post 65 employment act need a revision.

"The longest allowable interval between two rest days is 12 days. This can occur where in one week, the rest day is given on Monday, which is at the beginning of the working week. In the following week, the rest day is on Sunday, which is at the end of next working week. This will enable an employee to take two rest days at a stretch and allow an employer greater flexibility in the rostering of rest days." Part IV of the Employment Act & Section 33

Even better for employer, if a worker desire to work more than 72 hours per month, the company can apply a "special waiver" to work beyond 72 hours per month!

Once someone who is a thorn of PAP's side is found, he's career and reputation whether good or bad will be made bad. I am no surprised that MSM published so much detail of this person, who's fault lies to be against the PAP.

SINGAPORE: Singapore has arrested a man linked to a popular socio-political website for conducting an exit poll ahead of the general election in May, the island’s leading Sunday newspaper said.

Joseph Ong Chor Teck was arrested for offenses under the Parliamentary Elections Act and has since been released on bail pending further investigations, a police spokesman said, confirming a story in The Sunday Times.

The police did not provide more details. It is an offense to carry out private polls around an election in Singapore.

The newspaper said that Ong was linked to Temasek Review, a popular website for political commentary that is mostly critical of the ruling People’s Action Party (PAP). The site went offline about a month ago.

Ong was arrested on Sept 3 for conducting an exit poll during the general election on May 7, said the Sunday Times, part of the Straits Times group, which usually reflects government views.

Singapore’s long-ruling PAP swept back to power in May in the most hotly contested general election since independence, but the opposition also made historic gains.

PAP’s share of the vote fell to a record low 60 percent in the election against 67 percent in 2006, due to discontent over income gaps and immigration policy seen as too lax.

Singapore, the Asian base for many banks and multinational companies, gets top rankings as an investment destination and for ease of doing business in international surveys.

But critics say the city-state has few of the outlets for grievances normally found in a democratic society.

Amnesty International criticizes the government for penalising activists for exercising their right to free speech, while Reporters without Borders ranks Singapore 136th in terms of press freedom, below the likes of Iraq and Zimbabwe.

Our 7269 votes President in the opening of the new parliament session said the above. He seem to be liked a parrot, parroting or toeing PAP's view about the so called NEW MEDIA. Internet forums are not new, just that social media sites such as Facebook or Tweeter or even blogger had speed up the propagation of personal or the so called the views from the Harsh, intemperate individuals. I am sure that 60.1% speaks fairly well of the so call support to the higher than thou PAP in the recent election.

How about using ISA to arrest these Harsh and intemperate voices?

As president, he has forgotten that freedom of speech is written in Singapore's Constitutions, but neutralised by PAP through the various Acts written.

I also wondered after May 2011 General Election, why it took 5 months for the PM to convene the start of the New Parliament? Do the new ministers or MPs need 5 months to orientate themselves in their new jobs and responsibilities? Parliament do not need to meet for discussions on the effect of the financial storm from Europe on ordinary Singapore Citizens?

Boon Lay Becoming another Sungei Road Flea Market or Thieves' Market?

After resounding PAP victory over the Reform Party, an area in that GRC imo is becoming a flea market or look liked Sungei Road "thieves' market". I am not belittling the people at Sungei Road flea market. But if someone looses a boot, most likely it had already ended up in Sungei Road. But due to the circle line development, about half of the current Sungei Road flea market had be taken by Circle line development.

The flea market at Boon Lay have the favour of Sungei Road. IMO, PAP always said that if opposition parties ever won a consituency or GRC, that opposition controlled area will become a slum! But I see it otherwise, PAP controlled Boon Lay may had already became a slum.....?

No chance of Singapore re-joining Malaysia? Young LYK was so firm and enthusiastic to do so in the 60s. Singaporeans now seem to look down on the development of Malaysia but had forgotten the size of the land and population. If Singapore was still with Malaysia, then we could be modeled liked Penang, the other3 of the former Crown Colonies of the former British Empire in Malaya.

LYK's latest wise words of wisdom was "Unlikely for Singapore, Malaysia to merge", but it seem that he had reverse his words in 2010 and Oct 2007 that Singapore would be happy to join Malaysia if they keep put their house in order.

ISA not used for Political Beliefs in Singapore? Sure?

In a apparent political spin by the Malaysian Spin doctors for PM Najib to overhaul his politicla image, he decided to repeal the colonial era Internal Security Act, a British legacy left behind during the communists insurgency in then Malaya. IMO, this move by Malaysia to repeal the ISA seem to have caught our political leaders and forecasters or even political intelligence off guard.

In a amusing press statement issued by Ministry of Home Affair, the MHA said ISA is used sparingly and "No person has ever been detained only for their political beliefs". The attempt to pull the wool over the eyes of the public especially the younger generation who PAP always said "taken peace and security for granted" but forgotten that 纸包不了火.

Is MHA saying that these dark ages of Singapore Politics using ISA as a political tool against POLITICAL OPPONENTS was pre-independence and nothing to do with then self government Singapore and the government headed by LYK was not part of it?

NTUC & People's Association are PAP's Political Tools

Its been confirmed that the People's Association (PA), a stat board under the Singapore Government, paid by the tax payers is a political tool of PAP after Ms Ooi, Director Corporate and Marketing Communications of PA replied to Mr Muhammad Yusuf Osman's letter to the paper.

If memory serves me right, the PA was set up by the pre-independent self government in the 50s to counter the communist influences to the populace by setting up community centres to divert attentions from the communist influence. Grass roots leaders were appointed to explain the ills of communism. People flocked to CCs to watch black and white TVs rather than listening to communists trying to brain wash them.

It worked effectively and Mr LKY or his advisers saw this as strong tool to exploit politically by helping the PAP Government "connect with people and help promote government policies and programmes". Explained simply: "Vote for PAP during elections"

Present day, Grass roots leaders or members are all PAP lap dogs trying to explain PAP's flawed policies such as the immigration policy. That is exactly what Ms Ooi was trying to say; fighting dengue mosquitoes and active aging are now politicized.

Only PAP appointed advisors are capable to carry these government policies effectively. She did not mention banning non PAP parties from holding block functions in their own constituencies too. I am sure Mr Chiam and Low from SPP & WP had experienced PA's of toeing the PAP's policies and restricted their own political activities to reach out to their own constituents.

The mission of the People's Association (PA) and its grassroots organisations (GROs) is to bond the community and connect people with the Government. PA and its GROs serve all residents regardless of their political affiliations in fulfilling their role. Grassroots advisers are appointed by PA, a statutory board. Besides connecting people to people, grassroots advisers are required to help the Government connect with people and help promote government policies and programmes such as anti-dengue and active ageing. Hence, the Government has to appoint grassroots advisers who support its programmes and can play this role well. Opposition MPs cannot be expected to do this and thus cannot become advisers to GROs.

The other so called major influence of the communist their reach to the trade unions as some of the leaders were "communists". After locking up the pro communist unionists under ISA and unions under NTUC had replaced them with obedient lap dogs unionists. These so called unionists had been toeing along the pro-employers and anti-workers policies such as depressing of wages of ordinary workers.

NTUC a co-operative is now a landlord of a commercial building at prime land. How did it amass such large amount of money since its formation in the 60s? Did the pro-PAP unionists help the ordinary workers fighting their rights these years or it primary job descriptions is to endorse Dr Tony Tan as a president?

Or NTUC was and is obsessed with making money with its arm such as NTUC Fairprice and entertain its NTUC members with cheap chalet at Pasir Ris and hoped that the Singapore workers can forget about what the roles of the unions are all about.
