TSGA - Sweet Pea

Hi everyone! I'm back today with a quick post and a "I hope that you all had a sweet Valentine's Day" wish :D I myself, was taken out to a lovely and romantic dinner with my husband to one of our favourite Greek restaurants and all I can say is YUMMY!

So enough about the smoochy hugs and kisses stuff and onto my There She Goes Again card featuring the Sweet Pea set. For those of you who don't know what TSGA week is, it's where the Trendsetters feature brand spankin' new cards using older sets by There She Goes. Click on over here for more goodies to feast your eyes upon :)

These peachy sweet peas were water coloured with tombows and the background was done with re-inkers. I used some scraps of unknown designer papers and dusted off some really old embellishments to kind of create an interesting new embellishment....the key word is "tried" here folks ;)

Hi everyone! I'm back today for the There She Goes Again week where we feature some of the older-ish stamp sets from There She Goes Clear Stamps :) All of the Trendsetters are featuring new cards today so be sure to pop on by their blogs to drool over their creations too :D

I chose to use the Love Birds set and my little love bird has actually been paper pieced and sponged to add a little extra sumpin', sumpin' to it ;) I sponged in the background as well because every love birds deserves a nice sunny day with clear skies don't you think?

My Little Valentine

Hi everyone and Happy New Year! It turns out that I haven't posted on here much lately and it's all due to the craziness of Christmas, working around hubby's schedule, 2 bouts of stomach flu for my kiddo's, entertaining my sister in law from out of town and putting together 2 Christmas dinners - Phew, I'm pooped just thinking about it!

So, it being the New Year and all let's put the miracle of Christmas behind us and move on to the miracle that is me actually making a card! I made this one 2 days ago and have just had time to post it now ;) This sweet and simple little Valentine has been put together using the Smarty Pants set and combining it with the You're a Hoot set from There She Goes.

To get the heart in the backdrop I sponged it in with various red inks with a dauber and used my TCW Mix and Match Hearts Template from eclectic Paperie :) I thought that the heart template tied in very nicely with the paper to make this little scalloped Valentine :D

TSGA - Ho Ho Ho!

Hi everyone! I'm just poking my nose in here for a fly by posting before I head off to my kids Family Fun Night at their school :) It's There She Goes Again week over at There She Goes and if you have never heard of it before it's where the Trendsetters make new cards with some of the older TSG sets :)

For my card, I used the Ho Ho Ho set for the images and the Holiday Cheer set for the sentiment. I just adore this sweet little reindeer! I coloured him up with my tombows and water brush, shaded him with chalk pencils and popped him up on dimensionals. The tree has stickles on the star for a some sparkle and some half pearl "ornaments" and I also added a little glossy accents on the reindeer's nose. The background was sponged with inks and then sprayed with water down acrylic paint and a mister for a snowy look.

iSpy a Christmas Tag!

Hi everyone! Today I'm back with both a iSpy Sketches project made with goodies from eclectic Paperie :D This week we are featuring Christine Okken ( ChristineCreations at SCS) and is inspired by this card.

I started out with an Inkssentials #5 Manila Craft Tag and then went to town adding layers of Ranger Distress Inks to create the background (Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint, Forest Moss, Pine Needles, Antique Linen and Vintage Photo) with my Inkssentials Foam Blender. I created more depth around the edges of the tag with the darker inks and then added some "snow" with some watered down white acrylic paint in a Mini Mister :). I then added some of the the snowflakes from the Graphic 45 Nutcracker set to add to my whole snowy theme. I ended up heat embossing them with white embossing powder so that they really stood out against the green backdrop.

I created the fishtail banners with some of the Authentique Peaceful Line and then added a couple of little die cut Spellbinders swirls that were made with vellum and the snowflakes were made with the MFT snowflake die. I finished off the tag with some vintage seam binding and some cappuccino twine for an added little touch of whimsy :)

TSGA - Penguin Pals

Hi everyone and welcome back to for another There She Goes Again week card using some fabulous products from eclectic Paperie :D

This little cutie of a penguin is from the Penguin Pals set from There She Goes. He was water coloured with Tombow Dual Brush Pens and then shaded with a chalk pencil. The background was created on 90lb cold press canson water colour paper using some Ranger Distress Inks in these colours: Weathered Wood, Broken China and Faded Jeans. I also used some more Ranger Distress inks for sponging some of the My Mind's Eye Lost and Found Rosy Paper. I used Fired Brick on the red designer paper and Vintage Photo on the black polka dotted paper.

Because the original sketch has some mini panels on it, I used some Prima Mini Rhinestone Swirls to re-create that look (go with me on this one ;) After I adhered all of my papers together with Tombow Multi glue, I zipped it through my sewing machine with some black thread. I finished off the card with some ribbon and a button from the Mint Cooler Buttons Galore Collection and added the final finishing touch of some liquid applique to look like some fluffy snow for this little penguin :D

Don't forget that because it's American Thanksgiving coming up that There She Goes is having a Thankful for You sale! It's a great time to stock up on those sets that you have had on your wish list or to start purchasing some Christmas prezzies for the favourite stampers in your life :D

The Peace and Joy of Christmas

Hi everyone! 'Tis the season to start making up some Christmas cards, or so the Christmas carols that are already playing in some stores tell me anyway ;) I thought that I would start by coating myself in a lot of glitter and hope that some actually landed on my card to for a little of the Christmas spirit ;)

To start the base of this card, I used some of my Authentique Peaceful paper from eclectic Paperie because it has the beautiful snowflakes to start the design off with. I wanted to have a few very sparkly snowflakes so I stamped my Nutcracker set from Graphic 45 (just the snowflakes) in my glue pad and then onto the paper. I quickly added some Glitter Ritz Warm White translucent glitter for some fantastic sparkle. It was kind of hard to capture how sparkly these turned out but you can kind of see in the picture below.

I then distressed the edges of the paper with my Ranger Distress Antique Linen and Vintage Photo inks with my Inkssentials Foam Blender and used my HSH Holiday Additions set from There She Goes for the heartwarming sentiment :D After that all that was left to do was to stitched around the perimeter of the card with my sewing machine and start adding some embellishments!

I added some gorgeous Prima Gems that reminded me of gusts of wind and then some vintage seam binding and sheer ribbon. I tied my die cut (MFT Snowflake Die) kraft and vellum snowflakes to the ribbon and finished it off with a black button to keep with the kraft and black matting. The cherry on top of this beautiful Christmas card was the Maya Rd Vintage Pearl Trinket Pins! I completely adore how this card turned out and I hope that you like it too as this card may require some mass producing for the upcoming holiday season ;)

ISSC39 - Fuzzy Friends

Hi everyone! Welcome back to another week of iSpy Challenges! This week's challenge is brought to us by by Maureen Plut (Irishlatte at SCS) and is inspired by this card.

I finally had a little bit of mojo so I pumped this little cute card out using the Poultry in Motion set from There She Goes. I masked the critters together, watercoloured them with my tombows and then cut them out and popped them up on dimensionals.

I wanted to create a very clean look for this simple sketch so I added the small polka dot print from the My Mind's Eye Lost and Found Rosy Collection. I then added a hint of sponging around the edges with some Ranger Distress Antique Linen and Vintage Photo inks with my Inkssentials Foam Blending Tool. The sentiment was stamped on a little layer of vellum so that you can see it a little bit better against the polka dots and I finished off the card with a little grass die cut and some Twinery Cappuccino twine :)

ISSC38 and TSGA - Grim Birthday Greetings

Hey everyone! Thanks for coming by today! I have a bit of an unconventional birthday card that is undoubtedly parallel to my terrible sense of humor ;) This perfectly adorable grim reaper is from the Hauntingly Delightful set from There She Goes :) It's my favourite image from the set and since I don't make/handout Halloween cards, I thought that it would be perfect for one of those "Over the Hill" birthday parties :D

I paired this image with this week's ISSC38 iSpy Sketch Challenge. The challenge is brought to us from Rosemary D. (rosigrld at SCS) and is inspired by this card. I loved this challenge for the simplicity of the sketch - it fit in perfectly with my lack of time to create a more elaborate card ;)

ISSC37 - Autumn Blessings

Hi everyone! Wow! Talk about neglecting my blog! It's been a bit since I have posted because of going back to working outside of the home but I'm here today and I'm back with an iSpy Sketch Challenge :D This week's ISSC37 Challenge is by Jean Cross (naturecoastcrafter at SCS) and is inspired by this card. Since Jean's card was very fall related, I thought that mine should be too ;)

Would you believe me if I told you that this card has 3 different stamp sets on it? Well, my rather cluttered with stamps, stamping table will agree with me on this one! :) The Autumn Blessings sentiment comes from the Wplus9 set called Happy Harvest, the big fat coloured pumpkin is a $1.50 Studio G stamp from Michaels and the rest of the line art images come from the Market Street Stamps set called Nuts about Nature :) - these have been stamped in Ranger Distress Forest Moss, SU Pumpkin Pie, and Memento Rich Cocoa. I couldn't resist pairing all of them together and matching them up with one of my newest paper pads from Authentique (Peaceful). I have used some other little goodies on this card that you might not realize too, like the little canvas circle has been die cut from an Inkssentials Sticky Back Canvas ATC and I have used one of my Graphic 45 Metal Brads to secure my raffia bow to the card because it was substantial enough to hold it down and it had a nice rustic touch to it :D

Before I ruffed up the edges with my distressing tool I took my sponges and added some Ranger Distress Antique Linen and Vintage Photo to add some depth to the base layer of paper. I then added some machine stitching and then some decorative cross stitching for variety. All and all, I'm please with how this card turned out!

Happy Harvest Treat Bag

Hi everyone! It's been awhile since I have been able to get down to my craft room but I have a little treat for you - a treat bag that is :) I was cleaning up my craft area earlier today and came across this lovely little burlap bag that was just waiting patiently to be used. I instantly thought of pulling out my Wplus9 Happy Harvest set with the coordinating dies!

I started out by taking one of my Inkssentials Sticky Back Canvas ATC and my Memento Rich Cocoa ink and stamped out the wagon and the little wooden pail that is on the hanging tag. I then added the pumpkins with some Ranger Distress Spiced Marmalade and the grass with some Ranger Distress Peeled Paint. I then stamped the Happy Harvest sentiment in black and distressed the edges of the canvas with Ranger Distress Antique Linen and Vintage Photo (I did the same on the little tag as well).

To attach the canvas to the burlap I did a quick and simple running stitch and tied a little bow with the ends to add a bit of a decorative finish. I then stuffed the bag with my goodies, cinched it up and added my little tag (SU punches) with an eyelet and tied it to the bag with some left over raffia. I had some extra little die cut leaves from a sizzix die hanging around my scrap pile so I added those too for that extra little bit of freshness.

For such a quick and easy project, I'm pleased with how it turned out! It also helped to get me out of my creative slump that I have been it so it's a double win of a project on this end :D

Delightful Birthday Wishes

Hey everyone! I'm back today after a very long week of giving my son's room a big kid makeover :) As a toddler I painted his room in an under the sea theme with sea creatures painted on the walls and a blue ceiling and closet doors. Well he's 8 now and wasn't too fond of blue or the fishies so it was time for a re-do and we just finished it about 3 hours ago :) I'm pleased to inform you all the he now has a grey and black with race cars room and that he's completely tickled... and I'm one happy mom that I got to make a quick card instead of being stuck painting all evening....again!

Anyway, back to the card :) TSG just turned 4 this month so I'm helping Jessica celebrate by creating a more adult card with my Wrapped in Joy set. I paired the sentiment with a very pretty Maya Rd Denim Vintage Rose from eclectic Paperie and a bevy of Ranger Distress Inks and the rest is history!

ISSC33 - Explore with eclectic Paperie!

Hi everyone! It's been a few days...or seven since I posted last due entirely to lack of mojo so what better way to get that mojo kick started then to use this week's iSpy Sketch! The ISSC33 challenge is from Cindy Elam (Cards4Ever @ SCS) and is based on this card

I started off by straying a little from the sketch by coming up with this camping scene using the Gone Camping set by Market Street Stamps. I'm not sure if you can tell or not but there is a pretty thick coating of Glossy Accents on the trailer to give it more of a metal feel and I added a mini brad for the door knob :)

I Sponged the sky in with Ranger Distress Weathered Wood and Broken China and then attacked my grass and handmade trees with Ranger Distress Forest Moss and hit up the gravel with Ranger Distress Pumice Stone. I used two different inks on the tree trunks - Ranger Distress Vintage Photo and Rusty Hinge.

I thought that I would try something a little different and cut out the campfire from the curly cue smoke and added it to my scene, replacing the stamped "smoke" with some Mini Rhinestone Swirls "smoke" :) I then finished off the card with a little stamp tag and anchored it down with some Caribbean Twine :D

Happy Birthday TSG!

Hi everyone! This week has been a week long celebration with There She Goes (check out their snazzy new website) because TSG just turned 4! To help us to celebrate some of the Trendsetters have come up with daily challenges and today, Jessie challenged to use some embellishments. I may have an embellishment or two for this challenge ;) In fact, I have many lovely embellishments from when Kim Schofield decided to spoil us rotten with big box of goodies from eclectic Paperie!

So let me tell you what I did for this card. I started with some Maya Rd. Felt Pearl Posies and Mini Canvas Butterflies. Because these started out as a creamy colour, it allowed me to attack them with some Ranger Distress Re-inkers to dye them! All I did for the posies was to add a little Ranger Distress Milled Lavender Re-inker and Ranger Distress Tattered Rose Re-inker to about a teaspoon of water and let the posies soak up the mixture for a few minutes! I did the same with some die cut felt leaves with a little Ranger Distress Peeled Paint Re-inker and Bob's your uncle :D I just let them air dry while I assembled the rest of the card and then stuck them on with a little Tombow Multi adhesive.

For the little canvas butterfly, I actually pulled out my Ranger Distress Wild Honey Stain and smooshed some of the colour into it and then ran it under the tap for a second to dilute the colour a little. It was pretty solid and because it's already an intense colour I wanted to just soften it up a little.

I paired my embellishments up with the My Mind's Eye Fiddlesticks paper pack and distressed it with both Ranger Distress Antique Linen and Ranger Distress Vintage Photo to have a bit of a shabby look to go with the flowers. I love how this card turned out and I especially love the font for the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Sweet Peas set from There She Goes. It's absolutely perfect for the card :D I finished it off with some additional pearl embellishments and some vintage seam binding that matched the Sahara Sand cardstock that I used for the matting :D

Stampbook Saturday - One Scoop at a Time

Hi everyone! It's my turn for a Stampbook Saturday post over at the TSG blog so I will apologize now ;) I have not ever once claimed to be a scapbooker and I think that this layout is the 4th one that I've made in my life. With having kids you would think that I would have started out as a scrapbooker first but I'm pretty terrible because I don't even print my photos *hangs head in shame*

I did however have this sweet picture of my daughter on hand from my son's 8th birthday party so I decided to combine her with the Enjoy Life set as well as the coordinating ice cream dies. I die cut the scoops of ice cream on various different pastel card stocks and then sponged some coordinating inks on them. I then added a rather large stack of them to my cork cut cone. You can sign me up for one of these ice cream cones any day! Yum!

Now because I'm not a scrapbooker, it didn't even occur to me until just now that I should have added some journaling to make it authentic! LOL! Some scrapbooker I am!!! I have to say though, that I do love how this turned out and so does Ashlynn and that's what counts in the end right? :D
