Per my doctors orders I to be on limited activity. No shopping or moving out and about for long periods of time aka bed rest. Well of course I'm that hard headed type that is never used to being still, not working and staying at home. I'm super independent that just does not know how to be dependent even if my health is involved. Well my best friend and I had to run out real quick to pick up a few things to complete the last few bags for my baby shower. Well I guess no one can ever go into Walmart real quick especially when there is clearance items scattered all over the store. Well my body started getting achy which is common for someone who is 7 1/2 months pregnant and I was also very hungry. We left Walmart and stop into Sam's Club to grab a bite. After I ate I started to fill better so we decided to grab some of the food for the baby shower. Well needless to say I started to get sharp pains in my vajay every few minutes and the baby wasn't moving as much as she normally does so, we decided to leave so I could head home. I rest at her house for a bit then headed home. Now I am a high risk pregnancy due to my hypertension. My doctor is waiting for the day I come into the office with a high bp to hospitalize me. So with that being said I'm monitored twice a day everyday. I got home and started having a light cramping feeling but I ignored it and just went to bed. In the middle of the night I woke up with a strong cramping feeling that woke me up. So I called my monitor and told them about the low fetal kick count and the cramps so the suggested that I go straight to the hospital. I got to the hospital and soon as they hooked me up to the fetal monitor she kicked until it was time to be discharged. I tell you this little girl is going to give me grey hairs before she even gets here. She is OK and so am I. I guess the cramps are normal but I was still told that if come in any time her kicks are low because its better to be safe than sorry. Being pregnant is a scary but joyful thing.

Baby Name Game

So before I even got pregnant I just knew what name I wanted for my son but I really didn't have one picked out for a daughter. Oh course when I found out that I was pregnant everyone that knew I was pregnant asked me "What names do you have picked out?". Once they would hear the names it would either go like this, "I like that name it's cute" or "Are you sure about that name, what about this name?". My biggest pet peeve during my pregnancy has been comments on my baby's name and advice I did not ask for. My mother was the biggest offender on the baby name thing until one day she caught me in the worst mood ever and I just told her "Look you named your kids so please let me name mine!" I'm sure I hurt her feelings at first but she eventually backed off and now loves the baby's name.

To breastfeed or not to breastfeed

So the one question that has been circling my mind for the last 20 weeks or so, is to breastfeed or not. I have had men and women give me their opinions (whether I asked for them or not). I think breastfeeding is a wonderful thing for the right person. I came to the conclusion that on a personal level for myself I could not breastfeed. I suppose my decision was selfish but at the end of the day I could not sacrifice my body more than I already had. My biggest hang up is separating sexual versus functional use. In the back of my mind my breast had always been used for sexual reasons so to breastfeed I felt uncomfortable. I had so many people yell and argue with me about breastfeeding. I never told anyone my reason why I was choosing not breastfeed, just that I did not want to. So for other women out there please do not let anyone else dictate your choice to breastfeed or not. Again, breastfeeding is wonderful and has many benefits to mother and child but not every woman is meant to breastfeed. So please make sure the choice is yours and if you do decide to breastfeed make sure that you are following your doctors dietary instructions correctly because even after giving birth there are still some foods and medications that you will still not be able to consume due to possible harmful side effects to your baby.

Hey Everyone!

I just want to take a moment to introduce myself and my blog.
