The apple watch series 2 is a good upgrade from the previous generation apple watch.The new additions include GPS tracking,water resistance and a new dual core processor.Apps open up quickly which was a pain with the original apple watch and apps took forever to load.The watch is now useful for swimmers as it has tracking features which are specifically targeted towards swimmers and includes different swim style options which you can use while doing your work out.One interesting thing is how the watch ejects out water.While swimming the screen gets locked and when you finish your workout the screen gets unlocked and it makes a beep sound to eject out the water.Apple has introduced a new ceramic watch for the apple watch special edition and there is also a nike+ version of the watch for all those nike lovers out there.It is really coo moreover the volt green color in the watch band and in it’s User interface really make this version stand out.Other than this everything else is the same.With the dedicated GPS in the device you no longer need to carry your iPhone when you are on a quick run.Other than this the user interface has been changed great to make navigation between apps easier and intuitive.This is what series 1 should have been.

Still the watch is far from an ideal smart watch which should include other features like ability to detect the body temperature so that it can tell you if you have fever and advice you the correct meds to take.Second an ideal watch should be able to detect the blood sugar level.This would be really helpful for people with diabetes and other too so that they can monitor their sugar levels to avoid certain diseases.Third bringing cellular 4G connection so that the watch can connect to the internet without the use of the phone would open a whole new array of possibilities.The apple watch series 1 now has a reduced price and the great thing is that you get the same dual core processor in series 1 which the series 2 has.This makes the watch value for money when compared with other smart watches out there.

The Xiaomi Redmi 2 was launched in January 2015. The Xiaomi Redmi 2 just as it’s predecessor has a great number of features to offer the users. Xiaomi Redmi 2 priced at Rs. 7000 is a phone to be looked for if you are looking for a smartphone in this range.

Display and Design

The phone offers a 4.7 inch multi-touch screen with a resolution of 1280x720p. Xiaomi Redmi 2 has an IPS LCD display which is protected with AGC Dragontrail glass. The display has 3 red-coloured capacitive touch button which glows in dark. The touch is smooth and scratch resistant. The viewing angles which the Xiaomi Redmi 2 provide are just amazing. Xiaomi Redmi 2 provides high pixel density of 312 ppi. The text appears sharp and the colors are vibrant with a small warm tinge on the phone. The display does well on the outdoors and the auto-brightness features helps very well for outdoor viewing. The display provides a good gaming and video playback experience.

Moving onto the design of the phone, Xiaomi Redmi 2 resembles its predecessor ,Xiaomi Redmi 1 but has a matte back cover this time. The phone looks like the miniature of Redmi Note 4g. The Voice Controls and the Power button are provided with a silver finish on the right hand side. There is a 3.5 mm audio jack on the top and a micro-usb jack at the bottom of the phone. Xiaomi Redmi 2 is 9.4 mm thick and feels a bit heavy weighing 133 gms. The edges are round and the rear matte finished cover provides a decent grip.

Xiaomi Redmi 2: Camera

The Xiaomi Redmi 2 has an 8 MP rear camera and a 2 MP Selfie snapper with LED Flash. The Camera is fully loaded with features and various filters and the camera interface is easy to use. The Camera provides a bit over saturated images but the colors pop out and displays an impressive image. You can click pictures in various modes like Twilight, Panaroma, HDR and the manual mode.

he rear Camera has a sensor of 1.3 micrometer pixel size. The camera performs well in the day conditions but suffers a bit in the night time. The autofocus is not the fastest but works well while clicking picture. It tends to take time while shooting a video. The Xiaomi Redmi 2 lets you record at 1080p at 30frps and lets you record a good quality video with good noise. It is not the best camera available but at a price range of Rs. 6999, I guess this does its job pretty well.

Software and Performance

The Xiaomi Redmi 2 has the MIUI 6 interface which is quite brilliant and runs on an older version of Android 4.4.4(kitkat). No words about the Android update from Xiaomi till now but may be we will be getting the lollipop update. The MIUI 6 is a fully customizable user interface which resemble the Apple IOS.

On the performance wise the phone works pretty well. Games like Modern Combat 5, Real Racing and NFS Most wanted played smoothly without any lag on medium settings. Gaming experience is really good. Gaming experience is enhanced by the audio output provided by the speaker which do provide a little bass. But the apps and games cannot be transferred into your micro-SD card.

On the Antutu benchmarks, the Xiaomi Redmi 2 scored 21155 which is more than Lenovo A6000 (20974). But it lags behind from Moto E 2015 (22061). This score is quite excellent for the price and specs. On the Nenamark 2 of fps scoring, the Redmi 2 gets a 54 fps which is equal to the Lenovo A6000 and higher than the Moto E 2015. On the Vellamo Benchmarks, the phone got a great 1555 which is 2 short of the Lenovo A6000 (1557) but beats its rival Moto E 2015 easily.

Battery Review for Xiaomi Redmi 2

The Xiaomi Redmi 2 has an 2200 mAh battery which lets you walk through a whole day of normal usage with one time charge on 3G network. The phone has the Quick Charge 1.0. This enables the phone to charge your Redmi 2 upto 40 % faster. The battery may run out soon while play heavy games like NFS Most Wanted,etc. It would have been better if the smartphone has a bigger battery.

Verdict

At a price of 6999, the Xiaomi Redmi 2 has two major competitors – Moto E 2015 and Lenovo A6000. The Xiaomi Redmi 2 offers good specs and a good gaming experience. The phone camera stands tall against both of its rivals and does record videos in 1080p. Performance wise all the three smartphones stand equally. But the MIUI interface wins an edge

Battery Review for Lenovo A7000

Asus launced the zenfone on April 23,2015 in India and I was invited for the launch.I had the privilege to check out phone even before it’s launch which was great.The phone was launched by Saif Ali Khan and other celebrities including Asus’s global CEO came at the phone launch.It was a great evening.Now coming to the phone review.

The Asus Zenfone 2 is a good phone.The specs are mind-blowing.It has 4 GB ram and so now you would never run out of memory.The phone comes with Android L.You can play multiple games simultaneously.The processor used is also powerful which is intel’s 64 bit 2.3 GHz Quad core atom processor.The screen size of 5.5 inch full HD.The camera on the phone is also nice.It has a 13 MP primary camera and 5 MP front camera.The camera app gives you full control over your photos.You can manually change the color temperature and you can also change the picture quality by selecting how many megapixels you want to use.Default is 13 MP.With Asus’s Pixelmaster 2.0 technology you can even click a 52MP photograph this means that even though the hardware can only take 13 MP photos but the software is capable of taking and processing 52 MP photos.The camera flash (Zenflash)is similar to the one which was introduced with iPhone 5s.It has two led’s of different colors which mix up together to produce a better flash effect.I did not check out the low light photography but the company claims it has much better low light photography as compared to iPhone 6.To make opening apps easy Asus has introduced zenmotion with this you can make custom gestures on lock screen to open a particular app directly.You can easily wake up your phone by double tapping it.The charging on the device is superfast.The phone charges to 60% in 39min.With fast charging of 10 min you get 4 hours of 2G talktime and 2.7 hours of 3G talktime.The GPS is also interesting.It features 5-mode positioning navigation which takes navigation data from five satellites to give more accurate and better results.Now coming to the design the back has a metal like plastic which looks fine.The volume rockers have been placed at the back just below the camera which in a way makes it easier to control volume since your hand covers the back when you hold the phone.The sleep\wake button is now at the top.Asus claims that the phone was designed keeping ergonomics in mind to make it feel comfortable in the hand.The phone comes in many colors and Asus has introduced two new color series they are transfusion series and illusion series.They told that the main purpose for this was to make the phone attractive so that others quickly pay attention to it.

The Taiwanese tech giant HTC never settles when it comes to good quality smartphones. Recently we got the news for HTC One M9 and now we are about to witness a mid-level smartphone from the tech giant. The newest addition to the HTC mid-level smartphones will be the HTC Desire 620. It will be a successor to the Desire 610. The Desire 620 will be launched in two versions, one with the Snapdragon chipset and the other with the Mediatek chipset. The Mediatek chipset will be cheaper in price as compared to that of the Snapdragon one. The phone with the Snapdragon chipset will be known by Desire 620 whereas the other one will be known by Desire 620G. The Snapdragon chipset is a 64bit processor.

Apple recently launched iPhone 6 which just blew the market and it’s competition. The phone got huge hype than any other phone built by Apple .Apple is now working for its next ultimate release, the iPhone 7. The exact screen size is still unknown, but from various sources we are getting the info that the iPhone 7 will be the first phone to get a quad HD display. The mi3 is a killer product at the price which it retails at.It is just $250.The specs are just mind-blowing.It is powered by Qualcomm snapdragon processor which is quad core and clocks at 2.3Ghz.It has Adreno 330 450MHz GPU which gives it great graphics performance.The screen display quality is good.It has a pixel density of 441 ppi which is at power with galaxy s5.When it comes to screen size the phone rocks with a 5.0 inch IPS display.The camera quality is not great even after having a 13 megapixel camera.However the quality of the photos can be improved by keeping the HDR on.There is a dual LED flash which is good for taking photos at night in dark areas.With 2 GB of ram everything runs smooth.While playing graphics intense games or doing any other heavy task the phone handles everything superbly.The built quality is great at this price point.Attention to detail has been taken into consideration.The laser cut speaker grills look elegant and the magnesium alloy frame is also a nice choice that the design team went ahead with.The phone even has a barometer which surprisingly is not there even in iPhone 5s.The mi3 also has a noise cancellation microphone.The software mi UI which runs on top of android is greatly copied from iOS.The phone has got almost all of the major features of a high end smartphone but at 1/3 the price.Overall the phone is really good for people who have a budget of $200-$300.

The icons now look beautiful.When you launch an app you just zoom into the app and when you exit it just zooms out.The search has been completely changed. Now you have to swipe up to down to get the search field.The search is fast and efficient. The new wallpapers that come with the iOS 7 are simply awesome.They give you a whole new level of aesthetics. Apple has also added 3d wallpapers with parallax effect that is when you tilt your iPhone or iPad from side to side the background wallpaper moves with it.It gives a great feel.

Another new feature is the control centre.You can access this at any time on your device just swipe from the bottom of the screen towards the up. It just pops up, you have got handy tools like Wi-Fi, flashlight, calculator, do not disturb and blutooth.You can even adjust the screen brightness. This has simplified the user experience.The notification centre has also been changed ,now you can view notification that are there for your current day as well as your missed ones.The notification and control centre can also be accessed from the lock screen. Whether it be the notification or control centre you get the translucent effect(iPhone 4s and above) when you launch them.Multitasking in iOS 7 is really great.You can now see the live activity in your apps,to remove an app just swipe up.Multiple apps can be removed at the same time.

Now you can easily share files and photos using airdrop(iPhone 5 and above) which lets you connect with multiple iOS devices hassle free.This is much better than Samsung’s NFC feature in galaxy S3 and S4 in which you have to tap the phones together. Apple has now given the option to block callers so you will not receive any calls or messages from them. The entire OS now feels live, even the clock icon on the home screen you can now see the clock ticking and it displays the current time. In the weather app the background shows animation when it is raining, cloudy or sunny. Safari too has witnessed a major change. The tabs in safari now stack up in a new way one after the other just as in mac.Safari can now remember your passwords. The music app has also seen a interface change and now apple has added iTunes radio to it where you can listen songs from different radio stations and you can also create your own customized radio station. The iTunes radio is currently available in US and Canada.iOS 7 is the biggest change to iOS.

iPhone 5s : Improvement Over iPhone 5

The iPhone 5s is similar in design to it’s predecessor but there is one change apple has added one new color to it’s line that is Champaign gold. The black and white colors have also been changed now the black is space gray and the white is silver.

The newest feature of the iPhone 5s is the touch id which is a finger print sensor. You can configure as many as five fingerprints. The sensor is very responsive and accurate. The sensor works on dividing fingerprints into three categories Arch, Whorl and loop. The outer surface of the sensor is made up of Safire crystal. The touch ID has been integrated in just the right place and so it is very user friendly and easy to use. The sensor is fast at the same, within just a fraction of a second you can unlock the phone. You can now use the touch ID to authorize purchases from the iTunes and app store.

The processor has been upgraded with the new Apple A7 processor which is a dual core processor. The iPhone is the first smartphone to feature a 64 bit desktop architecture. This makes the phone a bit faster. Apple has a new component that is the Motion coprocessor called M7. It’s main job is to measure motion data from the accelerometer, gyro and compass. It give better and accurate results in health and fitness apps.One more advantage of this is that it does not wake up the A7 processor for motion sensing purposes thus saving your battery.

The camera has also been improved a lot.The sensor is still 8 MP but it is now 15 % bigger and it measures 1.5 microns. The aperture has been increased to f/2.2 and all of this lets in more light. Two new features have been added in the camera that is burst mode(lets you take multiple photos at the same time buy just pressing the capture button continuously) and slow motion video which lets you captures frames at 120 frames per second at 720p.This is really cool. The flash has also been improved. Apple calls it the ‘’True Tone’’ flash. A white LED and an amber LED work to adjust the flash intensity and colour temperature, using over 1,000 unique combinations to give optimum flash. With every new iPhone 5s or 5c that you buy you get iWork free of cost.Lastly apple has also improved it’s iOS by releasing the new iOS 7 which has a ton of new features and is very colorful and pleasant.The iOS 7 complements the iPhone 5s.

Galaxy S4 : A tough competition to iphone

Galaxy S4 Review:

1.Galaxy S4 is similar to S3 in terms of looks.It uses the same plastic body as S3.

2.It features a 5 inch screen which is bigger than galaxy S3.

3.The volume and the lock buttons are metallic looking.

4. S4 has a 1.9 Ghz Qualcomm snapdragon 600 processor(else where in the world S4 has 8 core samsung Exynos 5 Octa chipset) and has a 2 Gb RAM.

5.The plastic is much is more shiner than S3.

6.The screen is 1080p hd with ppi of 441.

7.Samsung has added a barometer and temperature sensor in addition to proximity sensor, accelerometer and gyro.
