By <a href="http://www.free-articles-zone.com/author/925%22%3ENeelima Reddy
</a>
  Toddlers always scream in public. It can be embarrassing situation for every parent while parenting toddlers. Parents face difficulty when they take their toddlers for dining out. Here are effective ways in parenting toddler while dining out.
Effective ways in parenting toddler while dining out:
1. Preparation and practice! If you have preparation and practice while parenting toddler, dining out can be an enjoyabe experinece for the entire family. Dealing with infant needs only preparation, but parenting toddler requires both aspects.
2. Disruptive behavior! Toddlers behave in disruptive way when they are hungry, need a diaper change or tired. Toddlers get bored during the waiting periods that are a part of restaurant dining which leads to disruptive behavior. Parenting toddler is easy if you prepare for these situations before only.
3. Selecting the restaurant! Restaurant selection is the first step in preparation. Find out whether the tables are set far apart that other diners will not be disturbed by your toddler noise. Find whether there is a place for breastfeeding so that a mother can feel comfortable nursing her toddler.
Find if there is room for diaper changing. Find out whether the restaurant is busy and the peak dining hours. If the restaurant is busy, quick service will not be there.
4. Practice in parenting toddler! When you enter the restaurant, practice comes into picture. You have to teach the toddler how to dine out. Start small and work your way. When you are starting to teach your toddler, select a family friendly place so that they will accept the behavior and noise of toddlers. Fast food places are the better option to teach toddlers in the beginning.
5. Don’t choose! Do not chose the restaurant which have play ground types of acivities and equipment for children. Such type of restaurants encourages loud behavior which is not what you are trying to accomplish. Once your toddler is habituated with fast paced settings, you can slowly work on your way to more formal settings.
6. Be prepared while parenting toddler! Bring a blanket for breastfeeding at the table. Make sure to have plenty of formula for a bottle fed baby. For a toddler, bring finger foods or light snacks to nibble while waiting for the main dish. Arrange the dining time to coincide with the normal mealtime of the toddler. Don’t offer unnecessarily to save his appetite for the meal.
7. Time is important! Select the time as it is important factor. You can choose nap time for young infant because baby can sleep happily in car seat or in your lap with breast or bottle while you can have peaceful meal.
While parenting toddler, select the time for best performance level for meal out. If your toddler is tired and meal timings are changed, it can lead to difficult situation.
8. No boredom! While parenting toddler, come prepared with the things so that they cannot get bored. Encourage them to do their own activities so that you can spend some time with your dining companions. You can get crayons and coloring books so that your toddler can enjoy.
9. Get the toddler things! While parenting toddler, bring your own supplies. Toddler cup with spill proof lid, paper towels or napkins, and package of baby wipes are good preventive measures.
10. Quick getaway! Be prepared to make a quick getaway if necessary. If your toddler behavior makes that necessary, you can simply getaway. Don’t bribe or bargain a toddler for good behavior. You feel inconveneint getting up and leaving at that moment but it can lead to long term behavioral gains.
With preparation and practice, parenting toddlers will become easy at the restaurant. While parenting toddlers, you have to remember these things so that the toddlers follow and carry into other social situations and make meals at home more pleasant.
  By <a href="http://www.free-articles-zone.com/author/21994%22%3EJR Lang
</a>
  While the Internet has certainly brought a wealth of information, convenience and has a made the world a much smaller place, the Internet has its liabilities and especially so for children, teens and all minors. The responsibility of protecting children from online dangers lies with parents. There are several steps you can take to provide Internet safety for kids.
One solution, which some parents choose, is to completely restrict their children from using the Internet. This solution while keeping your children safe is not always the best option. One, the Internet is here to stay, it is an important part of everyday life, and its use is a skill that is often required by schools and in the work place. Also, if you just tell your kids that they cannot have or use the Internet then you eliminate the opportunity to teach them how to use it safely. So, if they do use it when they are away from you, (which believe me does happen, even with the best of kids) at a friends house or school then they will not have the tools they need to stay safe. Having talks and discussions with children about the risks is very important, and as a parent you should set certain limits and keep the conversation open in regards to Internet safety.
The following are 5 hands-on steps you can take to teach, limit and restrict children while they are online and therefore provide Internet safety for your kids.
5 Steps to Internet Safety for Kids:
1. Have a conversation with your kids. Explain to them, in as much detail as their age will allow some of the dangers that exist online. For example, that strangers in chat rooms, are just that, strangers. That they should never agree to meet anyone, give out their phone numbers, personal information like address etc. The same conversation that you had with them about not talking to strangers applies even more so when online, so use that and extend it further. Remember that most of these steps will only apply to computers you have at home. When your children are away from you they will have access to other computers and that is when those conversations will be the guidance that ensures their safety.
2. There is software available, which can help to protect your children from any content that is not appropriate for them. Software like, Microsoft Windows Vista Parental Controls, helps parents to manage, monitor and administer the use of the computer by children. The software, Windows Live OneCare Family Safety, filters certain chosen information and even a child's searches can be blocked by filtering certain keywords.
3. All web browsers allow for parental control settings. You can make personalized adjustments from the browser to set limits that you desire and to insure your child's safety.
4. You can increase children's safety by creating Limited User Accounts for your children from your Administrative Account. This restricts children from changing system settings, installing any new software which includes chat programs, games, etc. You can see the help section of your Operating System for detailed instructions on how to create User Accounts. This is a simple process and the instructions are step by step.
5. Be active and be a snoop. Yes a snoop, keep track of the websites that your kids are surfing. You can view all websites that they visited in the History List or Cookies from the web browser. You can even see the email addresses, correspondence and downloaded files. If you see something inappropriate or dangerous take the necessary parental actions. Sometimes we want to be our children's friend but we have to always be parents first.
Always remember that these are concrete steps that will provide Internet safety for your kids and protect them while they are online and still allow them to get the benefits of using and learning to use the Internet.
However, these types of websites are also home to a lot of suspicious users that are waiting for a chance to take advantage of the naïve and gullible teenage users. These online predators can be avoided with the necessary precautions. Even so, some teenagers are foolish enough to disclose personal information that can result in a very unpleasant outcome.
If you want a relevant example about how serious this problem is, a girl was raped at a party she threw for her MySpace friends. If that is not serious, then I don’t know what is. The use of the internet is meant for fun, information and business, but the sad fact is that online predators like the one mentioned afore exist and continue to appear.
This is why MySpace safety should be a relevant day to day worry for parents. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not criticizing the website itself, because it can be fun and you can make a lot of great friends. But you need to be 100% certain about the person at the other end before you start sharing personal information.
MySpace safety involves a few stages. The first and most important of them all is talking to your child. Try to engage in a casual conversation and reach this topic. Try to get as much information as you can out of them so you can understand what they are doing. Also you should try to explain the dangers they are exposing themselves and the rest of the family in case they disclose personal information.
Perhaps you have an open relationship with your children and the talk you engaged in will be the defining factor in MySpace safety. But what if that is not the case? What if your child decides that you don’t know what you are talking about and engages in various suspicious activities?
It is your decision whether you trust your child enough to leave it like that. However, I said once and I will keep saying it, teens are all about breaking rules. Because of this you should appeal to a parental control software program to increase MySpace safety and get some peace of mind.
Parental control software is a program that can help you monitor the activities that go on with your computer or the computer of your child when you are not around. This can be of great help to see what they have been doing while you were at work or out with other things to do.
There are many useful features that parental control software can use to enhance your knowledge of online activities undertaken by your child and thus improve the level of safety. Even though it sounds like you are intruding in their personal lives, it is better to know they are safe.
If you are interested in purchasing reliable parental control software, be sure to visit spyonyourkids.com. This program allows you to view suspicious emails and chat room discussions, block harmful websites, view Myspace private profiles and more.

  The problems of being a parent will never end. The newest problem that has emerged is the difficulty of MySpace safety. The website mentioned afore offers parental control software that will help you in your quest of knowing your child is safe.
  By <a href="http://www.free-articles-zone.com/author/11386%22%3EDonald Saunders
</a>
  Our teenagers' lives are often a closed book to us and no matter how hard we try they simply will not let us open the book and read what is inside. But how are we supposed to protect out children and help them to develop into self-sufficient and confident adults if we do not know what they are doing, where they are going, who they are hanging out with, what they are thinking and how they are feeling?
Well, here are four tips that might help to open that closed book at least enough to take a glimpse inside.
Tip 1 - Start when your kids are young. It is much easier to keep a relationship rolling along than it is to start it up in the first place and this is especially true when it comes to our kids. If we start literally from the day they are born and build a close and strong relationship then life will be fairly easy when they reach those difficult teenage years. However, if we maintain our distance from our kids, or simply do not have time to get close to them, when they are young then it is going to become increasingly difficult to do so as they get older.
Tip 2 - Look for common ground. We all have things which we like to do on our own or without our partner and one partner might enjoy playing bridge with friends while the other is out playing golf or fishing. But, it is also important for partners to share interests and to have some things, such as cooking, gardening or hiking which they enjoy doing together. This is not simply true of partners and should also extend to parents and children. So, find something, and preferably two or three things, which you and your kids can enjoy together and which gives you a common interest to talk about.
Tip 3 - Listen to what your children say and keep an open mind. The teenage years are a time when children tend to form opinions very quickly and often without an adequate understanding of the subject to hand. This in turn means that they will often come out with comments which you find concerning or which you simply do not like or agree with. Take the time however to listen to what they have to say and try not to be judgmental. There is nothing wrong with telling them that do not agree with them or do not approve of something as long as you explain why and do not turn what you are saying into an attack on them.
Tip 4 - Spend time with your children. One of the main concerns for most teenagers is that they do not get to spend enough time with their parents and this is often seen as a case of their parents simply not caring enough about what they are doing or how they are feeling. One significant result of this is that teenagers also often feel that they cannot talk to their parents when they have a problem and want some help.
Many of us lead busy lives but were we talking about a client instead of our own child you can bet your bottom dollar that we would make the time needed to spend with that client. Well, our children are far more important than any client and so it should not really be too difficult to set aside some time each day, or at the very least each week, to devote ourselves solely to each of our children for a while.
There are many ways to make sure that we are spending enough time with our kids and often it is simply a matter of organizing ourselves for efficiently. One simple way to achieve our aims is to make sure that the whole family sits down to dinner each evening and that this is a time to both eat and talk. Another way to spend time with your teen is to drive him to school each morning rather than let him ride the bus. Yet another suggestion is to play sport together once or twice a week. There are countless ways to make time for your teenagers if you put your mind to it.

    Educating Teenagers About Drinking And Driving
  By <a href="http://www.free-articles-zone.com/author/11386%22%3EDonald Saunders
</a>
  The number one cause of death amongst youngster between the ages of 15 and 24 is drunk driving and so educating your teenagers about the dangers of drinking and driving is particularly important, not only for their own protection but for the protection of other road users and pedestrians.
The first mistake which many parents make in this area is to assume that they do not need to raise the subject until their own teenagers learn to drive. You do not need to be behind the wheel of a car to understanding the dangers of drunk driving and, like everything else you teach your children, the earlier they learn the more likely the lessons are to stick.
When it comes to the consequences of drunk driving teenagers need to fully understand just what it means to kill another person on the road and the devastating impact which this can have on their family and friends. But they also need to realize that many people are also injured as a result of drunk driving and they and their families may have to live with the consequences of severe injury for the rest of their lives. This is not always easy for a teenager to understand but it is a lesson which they need to learn.
It is also important for teenagers to fully understand the consequences of being caught behind the wheel of a car while intoxicated. So, find out about the drink driving laws in your state and clearly spell out the consequences of a drink driving conviction. Explain to them that a drink driving conviction can not only land them in jail, but can also ruin their career prospects and prevent them from getting a good job.
Now, despite your best efforts, it is still quite possible that your teenager is going to find himself in the position of having had too much to drink when he is out with the car and being caught between driving the car home when he knows he is not fit to do so, or calling you and getting yelled at for being so irresponsible. So, this too is something which you need to discuss with him before it happens.
Remember that we all do silly things when we are young and the most important thing is to stay safe, learn our lesson and live to try again to get it right next time. So, if your child is in this position he must know that he can call you no matter what condition he is in or what time of the day or night it is to come and pick him up.
This is not to say that you are condoning his actions in getting drunk or that he should not be punished for his irresponsibility. But your first job is to keep him safe and make him realize that he made the right, sensible and mature decision by calling you for help.
Finally remember that there is no better way to teach your children anything than through your own example and that means making sure that you never drink and drive yourself. If your children see you leaving your car keys at home and taking a taxi to go out to a party then they will follow suit.

  Tips for Parenting Your Teen When Talking Isn’t Enough
  By <a href="http://www.free-articles-zone.com/author/4922%22%3EMason Duchatschek
</a>
  When it comes to parenting, talk isn’t cheap; it’s often expensive, particularly when it isn’t followed by action. If you’re an adult trying to raise your kid to be your “buddy” or “friend,” then you might as well stop reading now. The ideas and strategies I’m about to suggest are not for you.
When it comes to drugs, I don’t believe that talking to your teen is enough. It’s a good start, but it often won’t keep you from easily joining the list of blindsided parents who were sure that their child could do no wrong (until their teen ended up in trouble at school or with the law). Legal fees, damages, lost scholarships, and rehab costs can ruin your family’s finances, and you’ll still be the lucky one if your teen doesn’t end up dead or in jail.
Let me explain this another way. I’ve been driving automobiles for over 25 years, and I believe adult drivers understand what a speed limit sign means. We’ve all been “talked to” and educated about the dangers of driving too fast.
Police officers know that we understand the dangers of driving too fast and are responsible citizens. Do they simply trust us because we are nice people, good workers, good athletes, or volunteers at church? I contend that if education was enough, there would be no need for radar guns, ticket books, or fines for speeding.
Therefore, educating your teen about the dangers of substance abuse isn’t enough either. That is why I’m such a strong proponent of establishing clear expectations, opening channels of communication, and implementing the follow-up strategy of home drug testing.
I advocate parents talking to their teens about drug use, just like they always have, with one notable exception; I encourage them to take it one step further and tie rewards and consequences to the outcomes of randomly administered home drug tests.
Parents should explain to their kids that life is about choices. When teens make good choices, they get rewards; when they make poor choices, there are consequences. That’s how a family drug testing program works. Drug-free teens should look forward to random test dates as if they were bringing home straight-A report cards to their mom and dad!
When the home drug testing program is explained this way, teens should feel no more uncomfortable about being asked to take random drug tests at home than most of us feel when we are asked to take them at work. It doesn’t seem like a big deal at work because we have nothing to hide (hopefully) and the expectations and methods of follow-through were explained to us up front.
When the results come back indicating no signs of drug use, your child should be able to pick out a modest reward of his or her choice, such as a music CD, a DVD, or an Xbox game. If your child has made poor decisions, then existing privileges get revoked and a timetable for earning them back (based on future drug- free test results and improved behavior) is implemented.
Besides peace of mind for yourself, what other benefits are there for members of your family?
1. Parents can suggest to their kids that if the peer pressure to try drugs doesn’t go away (or gets worse) after they say “no” to drugs, then the statement “No thanks my parents test me” is a socially acceptable excuse that can stop pushy peers in their tracks. Teens I’ve spoken with seem to appreciate having the ability to remove themselves gracefully from such situations.
2. In families where such a program isn’t in place, school officials and police departments handle these problems by default, and the costs associated with learning such a valuable lesson usually are much higher.
3. In families where teens have already broken the bond of trust and used drugs, teens struggle to regain their parents’ trust and parents hesitate to give it. Now there is a way for everyone to get what they want, since teens have a way to prove to their parents that they are no longer using drugs.
  Mason Duchatschek has interviewed thousands of parents, teenagers, school board members, counselors, school principals, law enforcement officers and superintendents. He is the president of TestMyTeen.com based in Fenton, Missouri. http://www.testmyteen.com/.
  By <a href="http://www.free-articles-zone.com/author/11386%22%3EDonald Saunders
</a>
  Many teenagers in high school today try out for sports because they think that it will make them popular with their friends and also provide a good vehicle for getting them dates. But there are of course many other benefits to be gained from sports in school and here are just a few to show why sport is such a great outlet for teenagers.
We live at a time when all of us are taking less and less exercise and for many kids this is largely because they have home computers, video games and TVs in their rooms and are happy to spend time sitting at these rather than going out in the fresh air and getting some exercise. It is this of course which also forms one half of the equation today which is resulting in childhood obesity sweeping across the United States.
For many years now obesity has been a problem amongst adults but it is now being seen in children at younger and younger ages and there is no question that a combination of poor eating habits and a lack of sufficient exercise are fueling this epidemic. Sport at school therefore provides an excellent vehicle for getting our kids the exercise they need and also provides the motivation to keep them in shape, which is something that is simply lacking when adults try to follow an exercise program by joining a local gym.
Another very real problem with kids spending time at home on their computers or playing video games is that this is largely a solitary activity and they are missing out on the socialization which is so necessary for their development. This too is provided not only through sport itself, but because many of their fellow sportsmen and sportswomen will also become friends with whom they will socialize off the sports field.
Sports also provides parents with a great way to bond with their children by showing up to support them at games, helping them with their practices and also joining in with fundraisers. Through sports you can not only get to spend time with your kids and talk to them, but you can also get to spend time with their friends and learn a little bit about who they are hanging out with as well.
Now at this stage you may be thinking that this is all well and good but my kid is not particularly good at sports and is never going to make it into a team. Well, fortunately, there are a lot of kids in the same boat and so if this is the case then you can always look outside the school where you will find plenty of places where sport is perhaps less demanding and a little more fun than sport.
Also do not be too rigid in your definition of sports and remember that what you are really looking for is something that is going to give your kids a reasonable amount of exercise but also get them out so that they can meet other kids and develop their social skills. Just take a look around your area and you will almost certainly find many sporting activities which your kids would be happy to try if you just point them in the right direction.
  By <a href="http://www.free-articles-zone.com/author/11386%22%3EDonald Saunders
</a>
  As parents we are very protective of our children and spend a lot of time trying to keep them from getting themselves into trouble. Amongst other things this means teaching them what we believe to be right so that they do not find themselves giving in to negative peer pressure. But, at the end of the day, kids will be kids and when they get to be teenagers in particular there are going to be times when, despite your best efforts, they are going to get into trouble. So, what can we do to get them back on the rails?
The first thing you need to do is to understand the environment in which your teens are operating and that often means thinking back to your own days as a teenager. One common practice for example is to put the blame onto someone else. We are all familiar with the "it's not my fault I only did what John told me to do and he said it was okay" routine. I do not know of many teenagers who will not use this type of excuse and the moment it appears for the first time is the moment to step in and begin teaching your teens the meaning of responsibility because, the sooner they learn that they must take responsibility for there own actions, and that they will be held accountable for their actions, the better.
This is sometimes an easy concept for teenagers to understand, but it is not always easy for them to see how to avoid getting into trouble in these circumstances and one good way around this is to sit down and role play with them. Come up with various different situations and then help them by providing ways in which they can get themselves out of a corner that they are being backed into. Perhaps most important at this stage is also to teach them that, if their friends simply will not listen to them and insist that they join in, then they can always simply walk away and, if necessary, call you to come and pick them up. You will also be surprised how often the simple act of calling a parent ostensibly to ask if something is okay will cause a friend, or group of friends, to change their mind.
Your child also needs to understand that your responsibility extends to him and not to his friends and that, regardless of what his friends do, or are allowed to do by their parents, your role in bringing him up means setting rules which you consider to be appropriate to him and which are set out of your concern for him and for his protection. Having laid this framework, you then need to set specific rules and draw boundaries within which he must operate.
Finally, remember that not all peer pressure is bad and that interacting with other teenagers is an important part of growing up and that your own teenager can learn a great deal from talking with his friends and watching the actions of those around him. Of course it does help if they have friends who follow the rules, but you cannot choose your teenagers' friends for them and will have to be prepared to cope with whatever they throw at you.
  By <a href="http://www.free-articles-zone.com/author/20980%22%3ELaurie Leonard
</a>
  I thought this was such an off the wall experience with my son that I would share it with you.
When my mom was up here visiting we had been working with my two year old on potty training. One time when my mom watched Logan for me she said she had just put some pants on him minus a diaper and told him let her know right away when he needed to go potty and she would help him with his potty chair, he did great, she said.
So the other day I bought some thicker underwear for Logan and figured I would try it, he was so excited about the thought of underwear and no diaper. Thus began our little adventure for the day.
I told Logan to tell mommy as soon as he had to go potty and we would go use his potty chair. He said okay mommy, I don't think he really understood at all what I meant. I am getting some papers out of the computer desk and all of a sudden I hear " Mommy I am peeing" To my horror I look over and there is a waterfall coming out of my son and of course he is standing on our bed.
I do not know what exactly the look was on my face, but my sons eyes got very big. I told him calmly honey you have to tell mommy before you go so we can make it to the bathroom, see why.
So I cleaned him up and began cleaning up the mess, realizing half way through I hadn't put a diaper on my son. Well I thought no big deal he just went more than I thought was humanly possible at his age, we are safe for the moment. OR NOT !!!!!
I go to bathroom for another rinse of my rag and I hear, from my bedroom "Mommy I just peed" I run in there saying you mean there on the bed? What mommy is already cleaning up? In hopes he would say yes, but knowing that would be to good to be true.
Noooo he said right here and points down to a box we had of old Life magazines my mom had left here when she went back to Florida.
Okay now I am wondering at this point how I have failed as a mother in potty training and why my mom did not go through this with Logan. The good thing was that Logan had only managed to get it on one magazine and told me he helped me clean it up and tore the cover off of it for me.
Sure enough that cover of the magazine was soaked and lying away from the rest.
Needless to say we will try a different form of potty training for now.
  By <a href="http://www.free-articles-zone.com/author/20586%22%3EJay Corbin
</a>
  Computers are becoming increasingly ubiquitous. More people than ever own computers and the numbers continue to rise. Children are learning how to use computers at a much earlier age than their parents did. In my own life, my family did not own a computer till I was six while my daughter will be born in a house with three computers.
While their teachers will do everything they can to educate your child, your child is one of twenty or thirty kids in the classroom. Ultimately, the burden of educating your child rests on your shoulders. Your home is a great environment to direct your child's learning in fun and creative ways. There are many opportunities to learn in your home.
Educational software on the computer is a valuable tool that will have an enormous impact on your child's learning skills. Beginning reading programs covering phonics will build a solid foundation for the further development of your child's reading skills. Also, its never too early to start with math skills and there are many programs, such as Reader Rabbit's math, that will encourage a thorough knowlege of addition and subtraction.
You child needs any educational advantage you can give them. The best advantage you can give them, according to the prevailing research, is to find a way to engage their interest. Children who are interested in the material learn at a faster rate than a child that is unentertained by the learning process. Kids love video games and cartoons, so computer software that combines the two with a postive learning experience can be a tremendous advantage for your child's education. Studies have shown that educational software is very effective at enhancing the quality of teaching and helping students comprehend on a higher level.
There are some things to remember when choosing software. First, it has to be easy for your child to operate, especially if you have a small child. When I was six, I hated the keyboard and we didn't have a mouse yet, so I remember how hard it was to use any software that was more complicated than hitting the arrow keys. Luckily, software and computers have evolved but it is still a consideration. Second, make sure it is software that will accomodate the attention span of a five or six year old. They don't have much of an attention span at that age so make sure the software dishes out the education in small doses. If your child gets bored then it doesn't serve much purpose, does it.
You should also find software that fits with your child's interests. This shouldn't be a problem, nobody knows your kid as well as you do. As much as I dislike the media tie in programs, Sponge Bob and Spiderman may be the best teachers for the job at hand. It's easier to introduce new ideas and pique their interest if there is something familiar about it. It's sneaky, but it gets the job done.
Finally, do some comparison shopping. There are a lot of options and you want to make sure you get the most bang for your buck. Compare the features of the program with what your child is learning in school already. Make sure the program itself is regularly updated and enhanced with new features to make sure it is of the best value. Also, compare competing products to make sure you get the best possible program. While you can't put a price on the importance of your child's education, you can make sure you get a great return on your investment.
  Jay Corbin runs the Educator Cafe which offers cheap educational software as well as great deals on Rosetta Stone Software.
  By <a href="http://www.free-articles-zone.com/author/10642%22%3EMuna wa Wanjiru
</a>
  How safe or necessary are teething biscuits? At a first glance their use depends on whether your child has started on solids or not; for a baby that has a highly varied diet, teething biscuits are safe, whereas for one that has liquid food most of the time they are definitely not a good option.
Babies have a different growth rate, some mature sooner, others later, and with their development comes a more or less advanced ability to chew and swallow. Therefore, it is for each and every parent to appreciate and decide whether the child can or cannot safely eat teething biscuits.
The safest way to make sure that there is no risk of choking is to test the teething biscuits yourself; a quality cracker should not break off at the first attempt to chew on it. You can try to imitate the way a child would gnaw at the biscuit with the few teeth he or she has. If the biscuit simply dissolves away, then, you've found your child a good teething help for the period.
There also comes the question about the nutritional value of teething biscuits, are they truly necessary for the baby's diet? How can they influence his or her growth rate? Here, it is for the parents to carefully choose those teething biscuits that are to the advantage of the child: B vitamins, minerals and complex carbohydrates must be included in the composition of such crackers to actually make them valuable from an energetic and nutritional point of view.
A great advantage of teething biscuits in general is that they actually train and prepare the infant to eat all alone and independently. They are a great comfort from gum soreness and also a clever and useful way of pacifying a hungry baby while you are making dinner. Since chewing at such a biscuit takes a long time, there is no risk for the baby to lose the appetite and eat less at that table.
Teething biscuits can be home-made too, but in such cases, you need to stick to the recipe very strictly. The hardness of the biscuits is the first condition to meet for the safety of the child, as you definitely don't want the crackers to break into pieces. Such biscuits have a great choking risk and should not be given to any small child.
  By <a href="http://www.free-articles-zone.com/author/28905%22%3EKilian Allen
</a>

Think back to the time when you got your first bicycle. The excitement, the magic and euphoria you felt at that time is perhaps unparalleled. Cruising down the street with the wind tearing at your hair, you suddenly had a peek at the glory and power of unlimited freedom. Yes, kids love bicycles and parents love getting bikes for their children.
Fortunately, there is a good variety of styles, models and makes that you can choose from when you go shopping for bicycles for your kids. While toddlers like tri-cycles, older children prefer the regular model. Many adolescents prefer the lowrider bike.
Lowrider bikes are based on the design of a motorcycle. They have high handlebars, broad tires, long wheelbase and a casual, laid back riding position. Handlebars are deigned to position the arms at eye-level. Low riding position adds to this comfort. Additional features like straight-laced spokes and sissy bars add to the comfort and pleasure of the bike. The main purpose of the bike is not speed, but reliable, comfortable performance.
Beach rider bicycles are flashy, sturdy, comfortable, safe and unique. As far as kids are concerned, their most attractive feature is their unique, individualistic look. If you want to express character (which teen doesn’t!), it’s got to be a beach cruiser!
Tips to keep in mind while choosing bicycles for kids:
Variety: Twenty years back, there were limited choices if you wanted to buy bicycles for kids. But, these days, the market is saturated with brands, colors, models, features and choices. You have kiddie bikes for the small, mountain bikes for those who like a rugged ride and two seaters for kids who like to ride with a friend. With so many choices, you need to pay attention to two important things: quality and your needs.
Buy a bike that answers the needs of your child. For most teens, beach cruisers are the safest option. The low back design is kind on the back and the sportsy style looks ultra chic. These bikes are not high on speed and their design is such that they give maximum balance and grip on the roads.
Craftsmanship is just as important. Many parents like to go with the latest fad (and their kids pressurize them to!). But, you need to pay attention to things like the material used, brakes, shock absorbers, seat, pedals, wheels and so on. For instance, coaster brakes are safer for smaller children while hand brakes may be used once the child is over 9 years old. The safety and versatility of the biking experience depends on all of these.
The size of the bike also matters. As far as bicycles for kids are concerned, the size is determined by the wheel size. Have an expert decide the right size of the bike for your kid. The last step is to locate a reputed dealer!
With bicycles coming in so many colors and designs, you might want to give your child a free hand when selecting the colors and design of the body. Girls generally like to opt for shades of pink but don’t take it for granted that your daughter will appreciate the hot pink you selected!
  Beachbikes.net sells well made stylish beach cruiser from major brands like Electra, Nirve, Schwinn, Felt, Kustom Kruisers, sixthreezero and more at prices that are affordable.

By <a href="http://www.free-articles-zone.com/author/23321%22%3ETravis Olague
</a>

Having a baby is a wonderful gift of life but it also means that your heart is always going as you worry about your child especially if it is your first time and he or she is very little and needs maximum attention and care. On one hand it is nearly impossible to keep an eye on the baby all of the time but on the other good care involves you on a permanent watch. To gain peace of mind means that you need to feel that you know where your little one is and what he or she is doing, to help you with this there are several modern devices especially designed to assist you.
Monitoring systems
Nowadays there is a wide selection of baby items which help parents to provide the necessary safety to their children. One of these most helpful devices is a baby monitor. It gives you a wonderful watchful ear on your baby or toddler even when they are not near you. Such a device makes your parenting life far easier and is a great relaxation aid. However, you shouldn’t pop into the nursery every time you hear them murmur get to know their normal noises at first you will want to check on the baby to see if he or she is waking up but time will show when you must give the attention that is necessary.
There are now monitoring systems which have sound and video images and will let you have a view of the child's activities and alert when he or she is having any problem. Again some children even can be woken by your too much care occasioned by popping into the children bedroom. There are plenty of types and styles of monitoring systems to choose form and I am sure there is one which will meet your requirements.
The children room is not the only place mothers want to supervise. You would certainly not like your child to play around in the kitchen near hot stove and sharp objects. Your own kitchen can become a place of your supervision vie the monitor.
Buying a baby safety monitoring device
Buying a baby safety monitoring device choose the one which comes equipped with at least two receivers so that both the parents can keep one.
The monitor should be battery operated to be portable so you can carry it anywhere with you. It is highly recommended.
It is wise for you to check the ability of the device to be able to change frequencies as many household appliances and devices like televisions, radio can distort interfere with some frequencies being used.
When your baby is very little it is only enough to know what is happening in his or her bedroom while the child is sleeping, because all the rest time when the little one is awake you spend with him or her. When the child grows bigger it is not enough only to hear the toddler but it gives you much piece of mind if you also can keep an eye on the infant.
  Baby safety gates and other parts of baby furniture, walkers and stollers everything you and your baby need is available at our online baby shop. All our baby safety equipments are of high quality at good value.
By <a href="http://www.free-articles-zone.com/author/31584%22%3ESallingo lingo
</a>

Preparing for your new arrival can be such fun, especially decorating their nursery and nursery walls. You mightn't know the sex of your baby and decide on gender neutral decor or prefer the traditional blue/pink if you know you will be having a baby boy/girl.
The internet is becoming an increasingly popular place to purchase nursery art for your baby's walls. From customized name art, to nursery wall art, wall growth charts, door signs, nursery letters and personalized wall art you can find afordable, fun, colorful decor that you can purchase from your home. Products made from paper, plastic, wood and canvas, you want it, it is available! Art is great stimulation for your baby or child and good art on their walls is a great way to stimulate and comfort them. So in these days of saving you can decorate your baby's nursery with quality art at very afordable prices!
Decorating your kids room is one of the greatest feeling for parents to give full sway to every creative muscle in their body. With patterns to delight and colors to stimulate, fun and beauty know no bound with the artwork available for kids walls today.

Kids wall art can actually be anything at all. Of course, you will want the colors and designs to blend in with the rest of the room. Using bright colors is fun, and makes a room anything but boring. Bright reds, yellow, blue - primary colors stand out and make the area cheerful. Creating a collage of assorted items and pictures that are theme-related is another favorite.
Children respond well to environments that are filled with color and imaginative decor. When things that he/she particularly love hang on the walls, it gives the child a sense of ownership that is fused with happiness. Little girls often love butterflies and angels. Create wall murals or tapestries that blend soft blues, pinks and yellows together for a look that is relaxing and tranquil.
When it comes down to it, kids wall art can be absolutely anything at all. You may choose to hang a tapestry that is decorated with your child's photo, or place hand painted designs done by your children on the wall. Wood plaques, art prints and anything that is personalized make a great addition to the room.
Decorating a child's room can be quite a challenge. Use some creative thinking, throw in their interests, perhaps a few keepsakes they cherish and some bright colors, and see what you come up with. If they are old enough, ask what their thoughts are and what ideas they might have. Kids wall art can be a fun smorgasbord of texture and variety! And when you tell them to go to their room, you may not get an argument!
By <a href="http://www.free-articles-zone.com/author/16766%22%3EJossielyn Lucero
</a>

For generations we have believed the commercials and ads that said cleaning our homes with "traditional" cleaning products would kill the germs and leave our homes clean and healthy. For generations we have been slowly poisoning our environment, and our homes with chemicals that have now proven so toxic, the cleaning chemicals now carry warning labels. A few of these chemicals are Sodium Hydroxide, Chlorine Bleach, Ammonia, and Phosphates; and are the ingredients in some of the most trusted cleansers we have ever used. When you make the decision to change to switch to ecologically friendly cleansers, you will be creating a healthy environment, and helping the environment.
There are a few things to look for when considering which eco-friendly products to bring into your home to create a healthy environment for your family. Here are a few items to look for while reading the labels:
1. pH Levels - The safest products will be ones that are created using Neutral pH levels. Products which contain numerical ratio pH levels of -7 or +7 are corrosive in nature and are extremely toxic.
2. PGE's & EGE's - Cleaning products which contain solvents such as propylene Glycol Ether's (PGE's) and Ethylene Glycol Ether's (EGE's) should never be used in the home.
3. Biodegradable - This is important especially when you consider the effects that non-biodegradable products have on the environment, namely the ground water source, and the leaking of toxins into plant able soil. Always look for the bold declaration of a products being Biodegradable.
4. Perfumes, Phosphates, Bleaches - All of these chemical additives have been proven hazardous to the elderly, small children and infants, and the infirm. People who suffer from allergies will see increases of allergic reactions when these chemicals or their components are used as cleanser ingredients in the homes or rooms they occupy.
The dangers these chemicals pose to you and your loved ones are especially dangerous when sprayed as a liquid or foam. The respiratory problems that result from inhaling these chemicals can be extremely hazardous for those who have weakened respiratory symptoms from influenza, and smoking.
Phasing out these dangerous chemicals and replacing them with eco-friendly products in your home, can make a difference in not only the environment, but the quality of life and health of your family. These products are as effective as cleaning agents we have used for generations, and their natural properties can replace the allergens and toxins you are currently being subjected too.
By <a href="http://www.free-articles-zone.com/author/24427%22%3Emichael russell
</a>

When you are shopping or walking with an infant or toddler, there can be problems trying to carry the child, purse, diaper bag and any parcels you are buying. Baby strollers make the transportation much simpler and less burdensome. Holding a baby can be tiring for you and the child as well. The stroller allows you to have free hands and a place to carry some of the items while transporting the baby.
Ease in moving the child and associated items is the reason for using a stroller. A typical stroller has many pockets and holders so that you can put bottles, bags and extra diapers in your stroller without having to carry a heavy diaper bag on your shoulder. You can then push your child's stroller easily and spare yourself the extra weight.
Pick a stroller that is sure to be durable. Even if you only use the equipment for one child, you can put a lot of wear and tear on the moving parts. As your child grows and becomes heavier and more active, they may want to crawl out of the stroller. It needs to be strong enough to handle the attempts. The wheels need to be solidly fastened to the axle, especially if you plan to use the stroller on rough ground. The sunshade is usually movable so the hinge should be sturdy enough to handle the repeated repositioning.
Strollers come in various styles. There are light weight versions that are easily folded up and put into a car. Some strollers are designed to be used in very rough terrain. A stroller might have a tricycle style with three wheels, It is more common to have four wheels.
A stroller usually has room for a child to grow. There is usually a shade that can be put up or down, depending upon the need for shade or rain protection. A few strollers are convertible so they can be used as a carrier for an infant or a car seat. Some strollers operate with a bar handle. Others are steered with a single pole and handle.
Several portions of the stroller are intended to be adjustable. Strollers may fold fairly flat so that they can be more easily transported. The stroller can have a sun shade to put up or down. There are fully adjustable backs to many strollers so that they recline. This allows your child to sleep while you are still shopping or walking.
Babies require lots of equipment and supplies. Baby strollers are important when you want to bring your child along without carrying the baby all the time. In hot weather, holding a baby can result in overheating both you and the child.

By <a href="http://www.free-articles-zone.com/author/24427%22%3Emichael russell
</a>

Diaper bags hold a lot more than diapers. When you need to go somewhere with an infant or toddler, there are always extra items needed for the child's comfort and care that are packed into an easy carry bag. When you make a habit of always keeping a standard supply of items in your bag, you can be ready to go somewhere with your baby at a moment's notice.
Some of the common items that are found in a bag are diapers, of course. You may also want a package of baby wipes for clean up. You may have bottles of formula prepared, or if refrigeration is an issue, you might just have clean bottles and a packet of dry formula. For older children, unopened jars of baby food might be packed into a bag. A change of clothing is a good idea since infants tend to go through clothing quickly.
You should look for bags that are durable. The strap must carry significant weight at times. You will want to have a bag that looks good even after several weeks or months of carrying your baby items. A material that repels dirt and moisture is more likely to stay clean. You may carry a high quality bag through the entire infancy of your child if you choose a good style.
Most parents choose a larger bag in order to avoid too many items to fit in the bag. Paraphernalia that you carry along to take care of your child will vary. As the child grows, their diapers and clothing bulk grows too.
The bag should be easily cleaned. Spilled food, dust and dirt are not good things to have on the bag near your baby items. Whether the cover is leather or faux leather and can be wiped down with a damp cloth or some other materials, you should be able to clean the surface easily and quickly.
Most bags are designed with either carrying handles or shoulder straps. Some bags have both for additional ease in transporting. You should ensure that the handles or straps are securely fastened to the bag. If you prefer a shoulder strap and the bag can be heavy at times, a wider strap will probably by more comfortable on your shoulder.
You might want to determine whether or not you want compartments in the diaper bags you select. Some bags are wide ope, others are manufactured with various pockets and compartments. There may be bottle holders on the outer surface of the bags so they don't leak onto clean diapers or clothing. You should choose a bag with a closure device such as a zipper.
Freewheelingbabies is an online store that sells various products like baby strollers and baby blankets that help in keeping a baby comfy and cheerful.

By <a href="http://www.free-articles-zone.com/author/24427%22%3Emichael russell
</a>
  If you are looking for a baby shower gift, baby blankets or bedding are popular choices. When parents bring home a new baby from the hospital or birthing center, they need several blankets in various sizes to allow for different occasions. Spare blankets are helpful when you are laundering soiled blankets. That way, baby always is surrounded by soft and comfortable fabrics.
Some of the earliest blankets that are the perfect size for an infant are called receiving blankets. They are very soft, usually cotton or other washable fabric. They may be just a thick flannel. The concept is that the small blanket is easily washable, helps to maintain body temperature and is soft enough that it won't irritate the baby's very sensitive skin.
Crib blankets usually are larger than receiving blankets, but smaller than regular bedding. The design usually looks more like a standard blanket for an adult bed. These crib blankets are still very soft and warm. They are typically known for their washability. These blankets are often carried around as a comfort item.
A blanket sack is another type of bedding for a baby. Because the sack is enclosed, the baby won't become uncovered during sleep. The baby will stay warm all night. The sack blanket is good for parents traveling with a young child. It's smaller than crib bedding and is much like a bag with sleeves.
A swaddling style blanket is even more secure for an infant. The blanket is wrapped snugly around the infant with arms and hands enclosed in the blanket. The instinctual fear of falling is lessened because the infant feels totally secured.
Blankets are often made of polyester. This type of blanket is soft and is bound with a wide satin binding or ribbon. The border can be one to two inches wide. The satin bound blanket is usually in a pastel color, or a color associated with gender. The binding might be coordinating or contrasting. This blanket is an alternative to a coat.
A prime requirement for blankets is that they must be easily washed. Warmth without getting too bulky is important. A cloth that isn't stiff will cuddle the baby gently. Many different blanket colors are available, but they are often pastel blues, pinks, yellow or sea green. You may choose blankets with cuddly toys.

  Freewheelingbabies has a vast range of products that excel in quality and safety measures and also provide comfort and warmth to your baby. Customers can choose products like baby strollers or baby blankets which fit their budget.
</a>

I thought this joke was kinda cute and so fitting for people with children.)
Because I Said So!
After creating heaven and earth, God created Adam and Eve. And the first thing He said to them was, "Don't."
"Don't what?" Adam asked.
"Don't eat the forbidden fruit," God said.
"Forbidden fruit? We got forbidden fruit? Hey, Eve! We got Forbidden Fruit!"
"No Way!"
"Yes WAY!"
"Don't eat that fruit!" said God.
"Why?" "Because I'm your Creator and I said so!" said God, wondering why he hadn't stopped after making the elephants.
A few minutes later, God saw the kids having an apple break and was angry. "Didn't I tell you not to eat that fruit?" God asked.
"Uh huh," Adam replied.
"Then why did you?"
"I dunno," Eve answered.
"She started it!" Adam said.
"Did Not!"
"DID So!"
"DID NOT!"
Having had it with the two of them, God's punishment was that Adam and Eve should have children of their own.
  By <a href="http://www.free-articles-zone.com/author/21264%22%3ESarah Malinak
</a>

Whether you are a single parent or married, you could be raising your sons to be mama’s boys and your daughters to be daddy’s girls without realizing it. Because so many of us in the world today are mama’s boys and daddy’s girls ourselves, we cannot help but raise our children to be the same as us. Even though the term “mama’s boy” carries unhappy connotations and the term “daddy’s girl” carries neutral or happy connotations, there are positives and negatives to these classifications. Understanding the difference can assist you in bringing greater balance and happiness to your own adult life as well as to the lives of your children!

As we define it, a mama’s boy is a man who has never left the sphere of influence of his mother. All kinds of masculine personality types can be mama’s boys. It isn’t a denigrating term here, not at all. For many generations, even as far back as World War II; our lives have been changing at such a high speed that growing numbers of families have not had the luxury of fathers inviting sons to enter their own masculine sphere of influence. In the western world today, men who go hunting do so for sport. There is no longer a necessity to take sons through the rite of passage of learning to hunt in order to provide the family with food. Some families still do, but they are not in the majority.

In today’s world, sports do not stand much of chance of being a rite of passage between fathers and sons. When both parents need to have jobs or careers to make ends meet, children get whichever parent is available at games, if either is available.

Of course, fathers inviting sons into their masculine sphere of influence goes beyond rites of passage. You will read more about that in a moment.

These days, so much is asked of women in the world that it seems a kindness to allow a daughter to be daddy’s girl, in as much as daddy’s girls are some of the most effective and productive individuals around! Nevertheless, when a daughter accepts the invitation into her mother’s feminine sphere of influence, she gains access to a feminine centeredness from which she can draw to find fulfillment from within as long as she lives.

Likewise, when a son accepts the invitation into his father’s masculine sphere of influence, he gains access to masculine potency from which he can draw to find personal power from within as long as he lives.
When we, as adults, are second, third, and fourth generation mama’s boys and daddy’s girls ourselves, how do we help our sons enter the sphere of influence of their fathers and our daughters enter the sphere of influence of their mothers? Furthermore, when there are so many single parents out there today, how do single mothers assist their sons and single fathers their daughters?
To begin with, let’s look at the consequences for mama’s boys and daddy’s girls in relationships. If you are a mama’s boy or daddy’s girl, these will be familiar to you.
Mama’s boys, having never left the sphere of influence of their mothers, believe they get their power from outside themselves. They seek power from the women in their lives either by pushing against them or by pulling on them or a combination of both. Mama’s boys can be either bullies or soft, compliant males or anything in between those two extremes.
As boys grow into men, mama’s boys have complicated relationships with all the women in their lives because they do not know how to get their power from within themselves. The well of masculine potency that they could have gotten from their fathers and grandfathers is missing.
Daddy’s girls, having never left the sphere of influence of their fathers to return to the sphere of influence of their mothers, believe they find fulfillment in life outside themselves. They believe that they find fulfillment through taking care of the men in their lives. Daddy’s girls can be either bullying or submissive or anything in between those two extremes.
As girls grow into women, daddy’s girls have complicated relationships with all the men in their lives because they do not know how to find fulfillment within themselves. The well of feminine centeredness that they could have gotten from their mothers and grandmothers is missing.
There are things parents can do to make a difference for their children when they realize they themselves are mama’s boys and daddy’s girls and that they are raising mama’s boys and daddy’s girls. First, we will list how parents can make a difference for their children when both parents are actively raising the children. Then, we will explore how single parents can make a difference for their children.
The time for a boy when he benefits from the invitation to the sphere of influence of his father and for a girl when she benefits from the invitation to the sphere of influence of her mother is between the ages of ten and fourteen. As we have discussed, if the invitation isn’t given or received, the son remains in the sphere of influence of his mother and the daughter in the sphere of influence of her father. This invitation isn’t something that happens once. It occurs repeatedly in both organic and intentional ways.
Ideally, for a young man to enter into the sphere of influence of his father:
The father will be physically available.
The father will be emotionally available.
The father will be able to see the son as a man.
The mother will honor and respect the father and masculinity in general.
The mother will release the son to the father.
Ideally, for a young woman to enter the sphere of influence of her mother:
The mother will be physically available.
The mother will be emotionally available.
The mother will be able to see the daughter as a woman.
The father will honor and respect the mother and femininity in general.
The father will release the daughter to the mother.
The breakdown for parents most frequently occurs in the aspect of seeing their children as men and women and in the aspect of honoring the masculine and feminine.
Adult mama’s boys have much difficulty honoring femininity in general even as adult daddy’s girls have much difficulty honoring masculinity in general. If you suspect you are raising mama’s boys and daddy’s girls then it is highly likely you are that yourself. Therefore, since honoring the masculine or feminine will be a stretch for you, simply become intentional about developing the practice of honoring the masculine and feminine.
In addition, adult mama’s boys and adult daddy’s girls have a tendency to project their issues with their parents onto their children. This is why it is difficult to see your children as men and women, even when their entry into adulthood is obvious. Again, setting the intention and following through with action that helps you see them as your children and as the young men and women they are growing into is important.
For single parents, you will stretch yourselves even further. For whatever reason your spouse is no longer in the picture and to whatever degree he or she does or doesn’t participate in parenting; your children need the freedom to have an invitation to enter that parent’s sphere of influence. The ways you can help are the very things that will stretch you and cause you to grow in ways perhaps unfathomable until now!
If you are a single mother of sons, you can create a special place in the house to honor your sons’ father. Hang his picture there. Have some masculine articles that reflect his interests, heritage, and/or ancestors. If you do not have a photograph of the man, perhaps he could be represented through a picture of a bird or animal. The picture would serve as a totem. A wolf, a bear, or an eagle comes to mind as honorable, masculine symbols. You can create a physical space as well as a space within yourself where you allow your sons’ father to exist. After all, he will always exist in them.
If you are a single father of daughters, you can do the same kind of thing. Whatever it takes to create a space in your home and inside yourself where their mother is honored and respected creates the opportunity for your daughters to enter the feminine sphere of influence.
If your “ex” isn’t a worthy parent, then this task becomes an even bigger stretch. There is a saying that what you resist, persists. If you have been in the habit of demonizing your “ex,” then one or more of your children will surely follow his or her example. You attract that reality every time you make your “ex” the bad one. It will take even more creativity, imagination, and intention to create the space to honor him or her as well as the corresponding masculine or feminine sphere of influence.

Ultimately, we each have two parents, four grandparents, eight great-grandparents, and so forth. As much as possible, create your children having access to both parents’ spheres of influence as organically, naturally, and imaginatively as possible. Children choose to be either mama’s boys or daddy’s girls from love. They take on these roles because, even as infants, they sense a void in the family that they try to fill. It is an honorable thing they are attempting to achieve.
Your efforts to create the space for them to potentially choose to be father’s sons and mother’s daughters means you are offering as much balance and wholeness as possible. In the end, the choice is theirs.
As you work through this, you will find out for yourself that you now have more choices in how you relate to others. If you are a daddy’s girl, you may realize one day that you are no longer trying to take care of the men in your life to fill the void. You are making more time for yourself and exploring your mother’s sphere of influence even if you are in your twenties or thirties or any age. If you are a mama’s boy, you may find you turn within to find your power and no longer invite women to either boss you around or acquiesce to you. You too explore your father’s sphere of influence. Suddenly, there is a completely new way to relate to everyone!
What you experience as a surge of newness in relationships can be something your children grow up with as normal, whether they choose to be mama’s boys or father’s sons, daddy’s girls or mother’s daughters.
You love them. This article gives you the ability to offer them options they may not have had previously. Having options lends itself to balance and wholeness.

  Joseph and Sarah Elizabeth Malinak are the authors of the definitive book on mama’s boys and daddy’s girls, “Getting Back to Love,” http://www.gettingbacktolove.com/ (FREE DVD when you order). It specifically addresses how parents can assist their children in having greater balance and wholeness, even as it primarily helps couples create greater balance and wholeness in their marriages and partnerships.
</a>
As we find in Wikipedia, parental control software is defined as “computer software used to access the Internet that allows a parent to monitor or limit what a child can see or do and/or time-limit these activities”.
So this parental control software is an internet filtering applications that identifies and blocks unsuitable content on the Internet and prevents it from being shown on the screen.
One of the main functionalities a parental control has, is program blocking. In this respect the application should be able to restrict access to specific applications before these takes place. Either the child opens an instant messenger application, a game or any other application that you consider improper for his age or education, the parental control software will respond immediately by blocking it.
Regarding chat conversations, parents always are concerned about it. Thinking who your child is talking with and what is he talking, a parent must be aware that there are not only friends surrounding your child but also online predators and internet thieves. Once he joins a chat room, it is certain that he will virtually meet new persons some of them with weird habits that might change the point of view of a naïve child. There are some unbelievable situations when these online predators or internet thieves asks your child personal details about the place your family lives and sometimes even arrange a physic meeting with the child. As a parent you know that your family’s security is in danger and you must put an end to all these before something bad happens.
Going further I would like to talk in a few words about p2p applications, a free and open source for everything you want to download. This is an application that runs on your PC and allows sharing of files. But this should be a concern not only for parents but for everyone because these encourage the download of copyrighted music, software, and even inappropriate videos, content, violent games and much more. Unfortunately a child can’t choose what is good or bad for him and mistakenly he can download these kind of files.
I guess that now every parent knows why a parental control or internet filtering software is a must have these days. It’s more important to prevent than to treat so take some action because time passes and remember that every passed day is a lost day. Your child is growing fast and what he sees and learns every day is the bases of his character and education. It’s up to you how his future opens in front of his eyes.
By <a href="http://www.free-articles-zone.com/author/20980%22%3ELaurie Leonard
</a>

Okay this toddler potty training story has humor, but is not for the faint of heart and if you are I would not read this post.
So my 2 1/2 year old son has been doing very well with his potty training both going #1 and #2 in his potty chair and we only use diapers at nap times and bed time. He has this thing about when he goes in his potty chair he has to show me. He takes the insert out of his toilette and bringing it to me, very carefully I might add.
So the other night my husband is in living room watching some golf and I am on the phone talking to my best friend in Florida. When I hear my son come up behind me and say mommy look I pooped. Now I know I had just put a diaper on him, because we were going to be getting ready for bed.
I slowly turned around, phone still attached to my ear and said "what honey?" My son repeated "I pooped mommy" this time pointing down at his diaper. At the same time I noticed the diaper was empty my son said "mommy where the poop at, where it go?" Yes where did it go I said.
At that point I realized he hadn't pulled his diaper off and just did his business anywhere in the house, but the poo poo had to have been in the diaper and he was trying to show me. In those few seconds I knew all that and looked past the diaper and my son and there in all it's splendor was a nice little trail of poo poo leading from my bedroom at to the hall. "There it is" I yelled to my son so he would see it and he said " mommy your right there it is"
Now I am busting a gut of laughter still with my friend on the phone and telling her what is going on, as I begin to clean up the mess at hand. What happens next has me laughing even harder, later on not at the moment.
I go out to tell my husband what is happening so he is up to date of course, when I see this utter look of disgust on his face. I hear him say Logan we don't poo poo on the floor, that's yucky, we don't do that. I realize my husband hadn't heard the whole thing, so here my husband is thinking our son just took his diaper off and did his business on the floor somewhere. I am sure my husband is also thinking what a great potty trainer I am.
Anyway without hilariously laughing at my husband I explained that Logan didn't actually poo poo on the floor. That it had been falling out of his diaper leaving a trail as he was bringing it to me to show me and Logan was in just as much shock as I was that the diaper was empty when he got to me.

By <a href="http://www.free-articles-zone.com/author/25429%22%3Esanjou Gokhool
</a>

Children are innocent beings at the tender age. This means that they are still very young to comprehend the different aspects of life. It is therefore the task of parents to properly guide their children in their everyday life so that they can become better adults in the future. Everyone can tell you, health is really crucial. So, it is significant to teach your children how to live a healthy lifestyle right from the beginning.

Feeding children with solids from the start can be considered as a disadvantage. When children get used to eating solids, then you might notice processed meals and fast foods as well becoming part of their diets. This can seriously affect the health of children. Fast foods, in no means offer the right nutrients that children need. Even for adults, fast foods represent a disadvantage if consumed regularly. They contain too much fat and can eventually lead to an unhealthy lifestyle. So, teach your children to stay away from fast food as much as possible.
Moreover, cooking at home can really be a fine idea. Doing this will keep your children away from processed or easy food. When cooking at home, make it a fun exercise. Let your children help you in the process of cooking. For instance, if you prepare a homemade pizza let your children help you with the cooking procedures. Pizzas can be fun and healthy for children if cooked at home. The preparation time is not much, so children will not be bored while waiting for the food to cook.

Furthermore, another way to get your children a healthy lifestyle is to encourage them to practice sports activities. Help your children to exercise. For instance, you could teach them jogging. On the other hand, you could instruct your children the different techniques of playing football. If you notice that your children have an interest in football, you could make them become supporters of your favourite team. This will encourage your children to play football having in mind that one day they could become as good as the players they see on TV or during a match at the stadium.
Increasing awareness among your children can be considered as a wise idea. In other words, right from the early age, when children start to understand meanings, you can talk to them about how bad it is to smoke or drink. Smoking is really dangerous to the health and tends to affect people with lung cancer and heart attack. Explaining this to your children from the beginning will orient their minds not to go towards such bad habits when they become older. You, as a parent, should always try to monitor your children and guide them in the best possible way to become healthy adults.

With good health one will have the possibility to achieve many things in a lifetime. That is why it’s vital that children are taught the best habits. With good awareness, eating habits and sports activities among others, children may turn out to be very healthy adults for the future.
