~Everyone Likes A Little Ass- VLVS Feature~

Good morning crafty friends,

I know I have been MIA for a few days but it is MID baseball season

and man that really teaches me what my priorities are! LOL

Anyways I have a fun and beautiful card I am sharing today because

this week VLVS is featuring a week side by side with Helmar.

I used my fun Purple Cows floral punches to create these amazing roses.

And inside...what else?? BUT a Viva Las VegaStamp of course!

I mean it's true- it really is...EVERYONE likes a little ass...

no one likes a smart ass!

Which by the way is basically one of my BFF's life motto

so she was tickled pink to see this stamp! LOL

Good morning friends,

What a whirlwind term this VLVS term has been!!

What a fun stamp company and perfect fit for my zany ways

Today I thought I would share a few of my favorite projects from

my Viva Las VegaStamps collections.

I am not your typical "artsy" girl but I am the outside of the box crazy girl,

so this has been a fun time discovering all the fun weird stamps from VLVS!

I love the quotes, images, and more!! Seriously I could not pick just one.

I might not be the typical stamper and artist- BUT I love what I do

and love bringing these stamps to all my friends who now think outside

the safe zone just like me!!

I hope VLVS chooses me to be back on the team because
it has really pushed me to go outside my limits and I have loved sharing my
new love of stamping with everyone from my blog/facebook and twitter~
I think it has opened many people's eyes to VLVS and it's a great match.

So I have groveled enough...wish me luck everyone! LOL

GOOD MORNING CRAFTERS!!!!

I am super excited because I have not one, not TWO,

but THREE projects to share today using the fun and awesome

Future's So Bright stamp set from Avocado Arts,

and of course the amazing coordinating digital cuts! :)

I made this card and just HAD to use the stamps to "create" a

Polaroid popping out of the camera- I mean seriously is this not the best

thing you have ever seen in your life? I mean it is mine! LOL

Of course all the sentiments were cut with the digital files as well.

And this one was a fun time too! I love that background stamp

and decided to use white ink against the black background.

I used my Clearsnap Colorbox inks- perfection!

It's a mini card but I love it so hard!!!

And last but not least the FULL sized card digital file that came with

the stamp set- it just cut the card right on my Silhouette.

I added the sentiment stamping- and this was a FUN little time to make.

There is nothing better than an old time bright light camera!

Even typing this post makes me freaking giggle!!!

Hey there my wickedly crafty friends,

I am up today with a fun ACRYLIC card (I mean of course) that I created

for Justice's teacher! Sorry it's not an Awkward Moments card-

I have a few of those coming for sure!

Today I was focused on this thank you card for my son's teacher.

And creating these fun vintage flowers with my Purple Cows punches.

LOVE THEM!

I used my Jenni Bowlin papers- and just went with it.

I don't get to do vintage style often but when I do I immerse myself

I just love it. I love all styles LOL

Anyways- it was a fun card to make- I love my Clear Scraps for sure!

Good morning my friends,

Ok this morning is not about crafts- sorry! :) LOL

I did craft this weekend in fact here is a sneak peek!!!!

I had some FUN with my Silhouette and Avocado Arts-

I am literally screaming to share them on Wednesday! :)

Anyways I spent Mother's Day with friends in the strawberry patch-

here are a few of the shots I took- all good stuff!

This one I took because it reminds me of when my grandma was alive

and going to her home- well it just felt like her house.

It was a whirlwind of a day- after this I went home and cooked up a dinner

then headed to the hospital to see my gal pal Mel-she was laid up

and let's face it- we all need visitors in the hospital! :)

Good morning and happy Thursday my friends,

what a rough day yesterday was- sick kid and all that, today is FIELD TRIP day!

But before I headed out I thought I would share the fabulous

Avocado Arts NEW stamp set with ya...just for sh*ts and g*iggles, well

and because I love it like a tick loves a fat dog! :)

How amazing is this new set? LOVES!

It is to die for! :)

I just had to use light bright papers from Echo Park.

And I used Colorbox SILVER ink for the shades...

I mean seriously was there even a choice??

I can't wait to send this to a friend!

Ok wish me luck at the zoo with screaming 3rd graders! LOL

~Scrapbooking: What It Means To Me- Headed Forward And Looking Back~

Good morning friends,

When I first became a scrapbooker it was a HUGE no no

to scrapbook the pain, abuse, guilt, and anything not pretty in life.

Of course not being one to follow protocol I basically gave the finger to

everyone who told me my work was not good enough and too taboo

and scrapbooked whatever was in my mind.

It was the single best move for therapy in my life I can think of.

That behind writing a "book" of all my memories of abuse and

sending it to everyone I knew so I would not hide behind those secrets anymore.

These pages brought back many memories so I thought

I would share with you today instead of my normal new projects. :)

I was cleaning up my computer this week and ran across these

old layouts from 2011.

This was a layout about the book I wrote purging myself of my abuse.

And this was a layout to remember I am in fact strong and it's ok to

be a little crazy too! LOL The whole layout sort of is ME.

The words seen here "It's never really safe to be nostalgic about something

until you're absolutely sure there's no chance of it coming back" was a

constant reminder to myself that it's ok to look back at your family and the

life you had- because there is no chance of it coming back...I am surrounded by

good now and all that pain and abuse is behind me....it's ok to look back but don't get

sucked back into that revolving door of pain.

I am super thankful for what scrapbooking has done for my life.

Thas is scrapbooking to me!

What a long weekend it was full of rain- I hope this

Also here is my boy with one of his TWO medals

for the Science Olympiad this weekend. SO PROUD!

~Heart Shell Project +Together =Priceless Moments~

Good morning my crafty friends,

I have one project to share today and *Gasp* it's a layout!

Plus another FAMILY project we did together.

We brought home so many shells from our Alabama/Florida trip

I wanted to find a way to use them and not leave them sit in a bag.

In Oregon we filled our walkways with agates and shells, but of course they are

so much rarer in TN I decided to BUILD a rock heart and fill it with shells in the

front yard right by our sidewalk. The boys collected XL rocks from around

the property and we created a rock heart and filled it with our shells.

I know it won't last forever, but it will last for now. :)

It was a special memory to create with the boys on the beach

as well as at home....I love it.

It's been a very busy few days in our home and a couple

emergencies happened so I am slightly behind. BUT I wanted to share

this project I did with the boys and the layout below I created using

our vacation photo. 3 SWEET boys who have hearts of gold.

This was created from the May 2013 Creating Made Easy kit which I LOVE

LOVE LOVE so much!! Perfect for all projects!! :)

Oh and before I forget- how adorable is this Clear Scraps acrylic

card using Avocado Arts stamps in the ONLINE only class

Good morning!!!!

Not going to lie to ya, right now...just know you

Basically I intend on making 5 in total so each one of my gf's from

this trip get one. AND each time I look at the photos I relive

the trip all over again- I love me some Jenny Lawson, just sayin'.

So this mini album is about 6X12" and it is the All Mixed Up album

from Clear Scraps....OHHH OH OH and the best part??

~Awkward Moments Card #3- Thanks For Parking.....

Hey there, good morning, Happy Monday! :)

So this weekend we were totally rained in and games were cancelled,

it was the perfect time to get creative.

My gf Shauna came up with this card idea...

It starts out as a beautiful card with roses...that says "Hey there"...

then inside it says this.....

Come on I know you all need one of these! LOL

For those people who park sideways or take up 3 spaces...it happens

to me all the time. People park while I am in the store then I am blocked in.

I added the car rub-ons for fun! :)

~Just Felt Like Sharing~

Hey there, just felt like sharing my smiles for the week...

My amazing family and the precious new addition to the home...

Baby Toffee. This is Daffodil our baby and our newest adopted baby Toffee.

BOTH dogs were abandoned and set for the pound. We love them.

And of course baseball season is in full swing,

I have taken over 4000 photos already.....I am super proud of my boys this year!

Justice is hanging in there with his injuries....both permanent feet injuries and stitches.

Gage is playing on an amazing special needs baseball team! **LOVES**

And my oldest son Brad who is volunteering his time

for the special needs team. Such a proud momma this week.

Where does the time go?

I know it won't be long until all of these moments disappear into

full grown adulthood and families of their own...

I better enjoy them while I can because I feel them slipping away...

Good morning my friends,

Sometimes I just get a wild hair and decided to craft for giggles and

fun. I was chatting with some friends this week and we seem to find

universal problems without a delicate way to handle them....

then the idea came to me...

a series of "Awkward Cards" by ME! haha

Funny sweet ways to handle delicate situations with a sense of humor

and definitely a modern twist...one huge issue several of my friends have

is dogs from the neighbors who are friends wandering into their yards

and pooping...so why not send a beautiful card to your neighbor?

That says "You know I love you.....please keep your dog shit out of my yard"

No it's not the most tactful way but it's meant to be fun for those with a good

sense of humor and if it's a friend she/he will laugh. :)

Seriously I have a million ideas, maybe I should sell them...

~Too Fat To Be Photographed??!!~

Good morning my craft friends,

I thought I would stray of the crafty course this morning and post

about something near and dear to my heart....

being a plus sized mom/woman and maintaining self esteem.

I really am not sure it's completely possible! LOL

However after reading this article yesterday

I decided I REALLY have to change my view on myself.

I have struggled for YEARS to overcome the fact that I am not a worthless

piece of shit and I am in fact not what my dad always called me "A retard"

or what I grew up with my mom calling me "A fat whore".

Or what bullies call me "Attention whore"

I think maybe 50 photos were taken out of 6000 on vacation that were actually

me and 49 of them I think I looked like Shrek.

It's funny, I made a commitment 10 years ago when my son was

born to STOP thinking of myself as a piece of shit loser who nobody

would ever want. After an entire childhood of being abused then

several years as an adult of being beaten and abused.

My entire goal in life was to stop the feeling that I was a nobody.

It didn't matter what my weight was, it didn't matter what I looked like

it just mattered that I was the BEST person I could be and the best mom

I could be, and give my best to the community around me.

I felt like if I accomplished that it would help me to see I was didn't deserve to be beaten

and abused all my life, I was in fact a worthwhile human being who deserved love

and happiness and a life with a family.

At the end of the day I was right-I am a decent person who deserves to be loved.

I am not a piece of garbage. I am a good mom and I do contribute good to others lives.

BUT the one thing that has not changed is seeing myself as UGLY.

Growing up being told you are an ugly whore, fat (at size 8) stupid, retarded,

disgusting, gross, no one will ever love you, "I don't love you", I have never loved you.
It takes a tremendous toll on your psyche. I don't even know if it is repairable.

Even ten years of being myself and focusing on the positive

apparently can't fix feeling UGLY and ashamed.

SO today I post these photos, in hopes to remind myself of the wonderful

family and friends I have and how that double chin I don't see in the mirror

is ONLY a camera angle and nobody cares because in fact, they see

that moment I took their daughter to the dock, the moment I laughed with friend,

the day I touched someone's life who mattered to me.

The day I began stalking Jenny Lawson- blessing her with my presence!

The day we all laughed so hard I peed.

My kids don't care if I am not "Skinny" according to American Standards,

my husband doesn't care if I am "FAT" my friends don't care

if I have tattoos and pink hair....so why can't I be in the photo once in a

while and be proud?!

I guess my lightbulb moments have happened in the last

2 weeks when my friend Lori asked why I wasn't in any photos,

then I read this amazing article. SO what if I am the fattest one in my group??

It doesn't mean anything!!....I am still ME, AND I know I never see the weight in my

friends photos, or their flaws because they are amazing humans...and I love them

and you know what...SO AM I!!

Good morning and happy hump day my friends,

I have a project to share today, I missed yesterday due to

being at the doctor with my son who is still battling these stitches!

In this week of such tragedy I can think of no better time to post this project

or just to hang it in my house to remind me that there is indeed HOPE.

I am sure we all know someone who needs to feel love and hope,

I know I have incredibly low days where haters just try to hurt me because

they are so sad with their own lives they focus on mine instead of living

their own, and I just have to remember to keep HOPE alive. :)

I created this 13" wide wall hanging using the April 2013 Kit From

Creating Made Easy- it was a wonderful kit to work with.

~Perfectly Planted Feature!!~

Good morning and HAPPY MONDAY my crafty friends,

what a wonderful weekend we had in the Hobbs home

and I carved out some crafty time too! I have THREE projects to share today.

All of them include the new Perfectly Planted stamp set from Avocado Arts!

This layout from our Beach Vacation.

Since our vacation was all about family and friends

I thought the Perfectly Planted set was perfect to embellish this layout.

LOVE this quote!! :)

I also wanted to make a special card for a special friend,

I thought playing with colors and Mister Huey's Mist would be a fun time!

And it comes with these digital dies which I totally used on my Silhouette!

And last but not least this embossed acrd, yes I went old school with

the Swiss Dots embossing folder. I mean seriously how can you go wrong people??

Good morning it is FINALLY FRIDAY!

What a week, no one told me the week after vacation would kick my ass,

but it surely did....time for some family weekend time woot!~

I just realized that I never did share these fun acrylic SNARKY cards I

created for the VLVS+Clearsnap blog promo- I was gone the week they used

it so I thought I would share it now.

I really cannot even voice how very excited these stamps make me...

I mean if I were a dog I would be peeing on a hydrant, they are a fun time!

I can't even imagine my life without sassy stamps now,

when I am having a bad day I just head to my craft room and make a card!

And there is something super fun about a prissy girly card that has a

humorous mean statement...the BEST!

Good morning friends, I am back with

another acrylic mini album. Except this time it's a big album! :)

This is the fun Tab Album from Clear Scraps and it's included

in the April 2013 kit. I love it!

I love the vintage style and feel plus the burlap flowers...YUM!

I cannot wait to print photos for this album! :) I think

I will print them all in sepia.

These Authentique papers make me so happy.

~Happy Spring Project + Baby Dolphins~

Like I said I am back with another project from the Creating Made Easy

April 2013 kit and some photos I took of the dolphins we saw

on our dolphin cruise in Orange Beach, Alabama.

This fun little Happy Spring Sign is perfect for my house...and

I love the acrylic pieces included in the kit!

Back From Vacation With Tons Of Memories And New Projects!

Good morning friends!!! I am BACK!

Ok I know I am BEHIND but vacation snuck up on me quick and

basically I wasn't able to get my blog posts ready before I left so now

I am going to spend the week playing catch up! :)

So remember that amazing trip to Louisville I took with my favorite gal pals?

Well I wanted to make a mini album for my gf because it was her birthday

trip so I created a MINI - Mini Album because she LOVES all things mini

and I had this fabby kit from Creating Made Easy to use with a MINI in it.

Now I promise to share photos of vacation this week but

right now I wanted to share this project.

I printed all the photos in like 1.5"X1.5".

Everything in the mini is from the kit.

Here is a photo of the actual kit too. :)

It's just gorgeous!

I love printing mini photos too. I'm not going to lie it's a pretty FUN TIME!

I love making these tiny albums just for shit and giggles.

People love them and they are great for the purse as well.

Ok I am off to take my poor little man to the Dr.

He had a nasty injury and 15 stitches this weekend.

About 2 hours after we got home from the beach he fell and

bam in the ER- I mean seriously- poor kid.
