Defiled Soul Grinder?

Got some work done on my first heavy support choice and this is the result! Not entirely sure what to call it but it will count as a Defiler for battles. It has the four close combat weapons and also the twin linked flamer made from the Land Raider Redeemer side sponson.

I have a bit more work left to do on the flamer, maybe add some cabling and fuel pods somewhere, haven't quite decided where abouts I'll mount them yet though. Still this is very much a work in progress - Updates to follow!

Late Night But Its Finished!

So had a late night last night but managed to finish off my first Rhino. Its got the Forgeworld extra armour kit for the WYSIWYG crazy people out there. I decided not to order any fancy doors for it as I wanted to give to try and freehand the chaos stars which I think came out ok.

Daemon Prince Done

So today I finished off my Daemon Prince. Quite happy with how he turned out, and am particularly pleased with the fade effect on the stems of what I assume used to be his backpack when he was a Chaos Lord, and the Daemon face on right arm.

The base is just the regular 60mm base that came with the kit but I added two of the Chaos star style rocks that come with the Lord in Terminator armour kit and then glued in the gravel and painted in the lava. again pretty pleased with the result and it matches the bases I previously painted for the rest of the army.

Hoping to post pictures of the first two marine squads within the next few days, I'm just waiting on a couple of bits orders and I can finish off the second Aspiring Champion and Icon Bearer.

The Strip and Repaint May 2012

So over the last year of looking at my previous Black Legion army I decided to strip them back using a bath of Fairy Power Spray. This stuff is really good at taking the paint off the models, just soak them in it for around 20-25 minutes and then go to work with a tooth brush and some warm water.

I kept the lava style bases the same but have gone for purple and grey as complimenting colours instead of the previous red. I've also tried my hand at some small freehand details on the legs and shoulders. Highlighting was achieved using shadow grey and washing with badab black which gives a slightly more blue tone to the otherwise stark black armour (Pics to follow).

I have sold a few of my models on eBay and have used the money to invest in other things for this current project. a new Rhino with Forge world extra armour and a Daemon Prince will soon follow. I'll try to remember to put up the Wip stages as I work my way through them.

Following that will be a Land Raider but i'm not sure about how to assemble it, especially with the apparent arrival of the new Codex: Chaos Space Marines supposedly soon to be released. I would be very happy if we received the options for a Redeemer, doubtful I know but I can dream.
