Just in case you have somehow not noticed that I have been absent for quite awhile now......I have.

I think it's time to re-evaluate what I want to do with this blog. Continue? Revamp? Rename? Perhaps turn it into Pinko Commie Kay's? I'm just not sure. I am sure that I need to either ramp it up or take it down.

For now I'm going to freeze it until I decide over the next few........days? weeks? Not months. I promise it won't be months.

Alderman Jim Kaplan. It is such a pity that he had to spend his birthday at a due process hearing that he pushed for and got.

This Alderman is up for re-election in April. He represents the 4th District and won re-election by a mere 29 votes in 2010. He lost his Board of Supervisor seat to now Supervisor Ken Lumpkin by quite a significant margin 202:131 in 2010.

This is not rubbing salt in anyones wound, but a reminder to all elected officials YOU are replaceable!

When I returned from Nevada, I posted about the multiple lawsuits under Racine's Current Administration. I could never have perceived how low this administration would go until today.

In defense of a statement made while running for Mayor of the City of Racine it is my belief that John Dickert errored and lost track of what hat he was wearing during this interview on WRJN. #1 mistake

So now he has to prove that his error in judgment was made as the Mayor and not as a candidate for Mayor while discussing an HR issue on live radio when the Common Council has to go into closed session to discuss such matters. #2 mistake.

Supeonas from his Milwaukee based law firm (aren't there any good enough attorneys in Racine) have started to surface. Why didn't this high profile lawyer put gag orders on those he served with a supeona? #3 mistake.

People talk and blog about anything and everything these days. Did the high profile lawyer predict this? Possibly for a change in venue? #4 mistake.

Sueing the city for legal expenses. When an apology and an offer to the individual for his job back would have ended all of this must have been too obvious. #5 mistake.

When an accusation is made of embezzlement it better be written in a person's personnel file and a conversation with the accused better be in writing, again in the personnel file. #6 mistake.

One would think that every employer would respect honesty from their employees and would listen to the employee's concerns and address them when federal monies are involved. #7 mistake.

If there wasn't some kind of shananigans going on then why would someone go to all the trouble of using listening devices outside the accused employee's home and have black surveillance vehicles parked monitoring the activities of the accused without first speaking to the accused? #8 mistake.

No one is above the law. The Governor of Illinois found this out and was quite embarressed by all the attention that he and his family received. Eventually, this will happen to Racine's administration. #9 mistake.

I have had a copy of WRJN's mayoral candidate's invitation since it was sent. All three candidates received the same invitation. Mixing an active legal case into an interview for public office is taboo. #10 mistake.

If you are a small business owner and you are paying out more than you are taking in financially, do you give yourself a raise? or

Do you confide in your family and let them know your business' financial struggles and reign in expenses at home too?

Racine officials should be having this serious conversation with its' taxpayers. They should also be telling the taxpayers that even though the city is spending more than it is taking in; the newly elected mayor has put a 7.8% salary increase into the upcoming budget for himself.

There have been two Town Hall meetings for city officials to discuss the necessity of cutting services. Yet, no one has asked why the mayor deserves a raise of such magnitude when his employees receive a 1% raise on average.

Is there really anything left to figure out? His mortgage is higher than what he could sell his house for, he may have thousands of dollars worth of legal expenses to pay, and he has to somehow keep up his tan. So guess what taxpayers - he is hitting you up to help him out! He has his own charitable foundation - Racine taxpayers.

When he brings in 10,000 new green jobs, decreases unemployment to under 10%, and keeps his promises than give him the same wage increase that other city employees receive 0% for doing their jobs, 1% for exceeding the expectations of his promises and/or 2% for cleaning house at City Hall of all the excess baggage that he continues to hang onto.

So Sen. Von Zipperer (R-Peewaukee), right before pointing to his forehead and freezing his little FALEC brain said; “Any constituent, or anybody in the state…if there’s an individual with a legal right to vote, have them contact me or my office and I will make sure they get properly registered and have an ID,”. “If you know any individual, bring them to my attention. Even if they don’t live in the 33rd Senate District, I’ll get them to the office of their senator.”

So did, I called and I spoke with one of Von Zipperer's staff members and explained my Grandparent's situation and disenfranchisement.

He took their information and said he would pass it along to Senator Amway, I mean Wanggard. I asked him what Senator Wanggard would do. He said he would put them in touch with the local DMV. I reminded him that going to the DMV IS the problem and that putting them in touch with the DMV, was hardly necessary as they're in the phone book.

I asked if they are they going to need to go to the DMV and he said yes. I asked how that was going resolve the problem and he said he didn't know.

I asked if transportation would be provided and he said he didn't know. I said, well in this case transporation isn't an issue waiting at the DMV is, but what about other people who didn't have transportation, how would they be helped? He said he didn't know.

I said that some people who are in wheel chairs or have other disabilities need specialized transportation, would the senators be making arrangements and paying for that? He said he didn't know.

Empty words, hollow promises and no thought, planning, compassion or consideration given to the problem.

I love the comment made to Von Zipperer by one of his constituents: Resident Emil Glodoski hammered Zipperer for his support of the bill, saying it’s racist and is aimed at suppressing votes. He told the senator the number of people who have actually been caught in the state perpetrating vote fraud wouldn’t even “fill a basketball roster,” yet the number of people who will have their votes suppressed would “fill the Bradley Center two or three times.”

“That’s voter suppression and it moves us into 'Wississippi,'” he said. “(T)his is the first time we’re eliminating voters rights and it’s just racist.”

Just about the time the right wing is ready to through unions out with the bath water along comes the NTEU. NTEU President Kelley states, “ Federal employees want a voice in their work-place, and unions provide that voice. As a union, our goal is the same as the government: to attract and retain talented and skilled employees who provide effective and efficient service to taxpayers.”

This union put $10,000,000 (million) back into the hands of its' workers, who are taxpayers. Previously, employees in HHS were made to use their annual leave or comp time for breaks. Seriously? This is the Health and Human Services Department of the United States. Is this the same department who is toting wellness for the entire country?

It took two women to compromise to make this happen, Colleen Kelley and Kathleen Sebilius.

These are two very powerful women. They accomplished things that men have never come close to accomplishing. This is the 21st century, where we listen everyday to private sector employees complaining that unions have it too good. When was the last time a private sector employee paid for their own break using comp time or annual leave hours? Private sector employees receive overtime on Sundays, right? Not all federal employees received this benefit, until now. Private sector employees usually get 2 consecutive days off, if not they received over-time, right? Judicial Hacktivist Michael Gabbleman was elected under a cloud of lying and ethical violations, which he was found guilt of in a court of law, but which his fellow nutbags on Wisconsin's Extreme Court let him get away with in a 3/3 tie. I know state FALEC Chairman Robbin Vos must be in agreement on thsi one as meets his proposed revised criteria for grounds for recall, right?

Racine has a Common Council so "What is the point of having a council if decisions are made prior to a meeting and their vote?"
Here is an excerpt from a recent e-mail exchange within the police department in Racine.

Chief Wahlen's Continued Employment with the City of Racine after he Retires: I was concerned by ----- statement because, due to its timing, it was clear that you and the City already had made this decision/agreement before you had actually retired, which raises a number of red flags. I later shared this information with -----because rumors of you returning as a consultant had been circulating around the police department for some time. It was my understanding that you had told a number of others in the department that you would return as a consultant after 30 days of retirement.
(What this is saying is that prior to City Council approval; city managers already decided to hire him back as a consultant.)

Discrimination in Racine, WI?

We were very dismayed to read the JT last week and see yet another situation that could have easily been avoided if only the city managers would review their policies, follow the laws set-up for employee protection, and think. Attorneys time is very expensive, hiring outside attorneys is even more expensive. Is all of this really necessary. Has there ever been an administration with more lawsuits in Racine at one time than now?

Here is the short list:

Park 6 sueing City of Racine
Former NSP Employee sueing John Dickert not Mayor Dickert
Mayor Dickert suing city for his legal expenses for the above case
3 Discrimination/EEOC Complaints that will turn legal quickly because every complaint to Affirmative Action is turned down. (Not the Action Officers Fault)

There are three women who are working/worked for the city that I personally know who pushed their cases to the state EEOC level and won their award. These employees received financial awards and re-employment.

Why can't the city managers admit error and save the taxpayers the huge expenses that these types of cases cost? It is beginning to look like there are few members of the City Council or many managers at City Hall who are true public servants or trustees of the City of Racine's citizens tax dollars.

This is an excerpt from an e-mail showing the fear of an officer who believes that their job is in jeopardy. How can a Police Officer do their best work, while they are feeling this way?

"I am a bit intimidated by this email and feel compelled to provide the information you seek in fear of losing my job or being subjected to further intimidation and/or retaliation."

"As a result of this communication, I now have additional concerns regarding my position with the department. I am concerned that you may continue to discriminate and/or retaliate against me through further intimidation tactics. I kindly ask that you cease and desist engaging in such conduct. I also request that you refrain from modifying or interfering with my outside employment endeavors, present and future."

"Notwithstanding the fact that I believe I (and others) am being subjected to discrimination, retaliation and intimidation in the workplace, I will continue to perform my job to the highest standard as I always have." (This is a communication regarding Chief Wahlen)

In Ohio Gubnah Kasich forced through un-American, anti-union, anti-right of assembly, anti-right to petition legislation from the Fascist American Legislative Exchange Council - FALEC that is almost identical to the FALEC legislation pased by Gubnah Wanker in Wisconsin. People in Ohio took to the street and flooded the capitol in protest like in Wisconsin, but the Gubnah didn't care about the people, he was more invested in serving his FALEC masters. With 11.5 million citizens, Ohio has roughly twice the population of Wisconsin. In response, the good people of Ohio easily gathered 1.3 million signatures to force a referendum to over turn the FALEC law, which is expected to to win by a two to one margin. Kasich has now come begging to the unions to negotiate, which he refused to do when the shoe was on the other foot and the unions where willing to talk. In resonse the unions have now told the FALEC member to fuck off.
In Wisconsin we need 500,000 signatures, less than half of what was needed in Ohio, to force a recall of the exposed FALEC member Snott the Wanker who is also now trying to pretend to play nice. Fuck off Wanker, you're going down along with your 60% dsisapproval rating. There's WAY more energy in Wisconsin to flush your a$$ than there is in Ohio to castrate the thier FALEC law and ensure it never takes effect.

It's bad enough to have FALEC legislation shoved down our throats for the gratification of the corporatists, Americans For Plutocracy (AFP) and the Wisconsin Club for Growths, but it is totally unacceptable to for Wisconsin to represented by an A$$hole. And Wanker is surely that.

EXCERPTS: While the poor and middle class fight for us in Afghanistan, and while most Americans struggle to make ends meet, we mega-rich continue to get our extraordinary tax breaks. Some of us are investment managers who earn billions from our daily labors but are allowed to classify our income as “carried interest,” thereby getting a bargain 15 percent tax rate.

Last year my federal tax bill — the income tax I paid, as well as payroll taxes paid by me and on my behalf — was $6,938,744. That sounds like a lot of money. But what I paid was only 17.4 percent of my taxable income — and that’s actually a lower percentage than was paid by any of the other 20 people in our office. Their tax burdens ranged from 33 percent to 41 percent and averaged 36 percent.

I have worked with investors for 60 years and I have yet to see anyone — not even when capital gains rates were 39.9 percent in 1976-77 — shy away from a sensible investment because of the tax rate on the potential gain. People invest to make money, and potential taxes have never scared them off. And to those who argue that higher rates hurt job creation, I would note that a net of nearly 40 million jobs were added between 1980 and 2000. You know what’s happened since then: lower tax rates and far lower job creation.

Since 1992, the I.R.S. has compiled data from the returns of the 400 Americans reporting the largest income. In 1992, the top 400 had aggregate taxable income of $16.9 billion and paid federal taxes of 29.2 percent on that sum. In 2008, the aggregate income of the highest 400 had soared to $90.9 billion — a staggering $227.4 million on average — but the rate paid had fallen to 21.5 percent.

The taxes I refer to here include only federal income tax, but you can be sure that any payroll tax for the 400 was inconsequential compared to income. In fact, 88 of the 400 in 2008 reported no wages at all, though every one of them reported capital gains. Some of my brethren may shun work but they all like to invest. (I can relate to that.)

The latest factual rotations from the GOPsters is that because we only stripped them of two Senators, that the wind is out of the sails on the recall of Gubner Wanker and that getting the 700,000 signatures necessary in 60 days (11,667 signatures/day) to force a recall election is too heavy a lift. Pure unadulterated nonsense!

I was in Madison that amazing day along with 150,000 other massively motivated Wisconsinites. If everyone of those people just gets 5 signatures that's 750,000, more than enough with cushion for challenges. If everyone gets 10, that's 1.5 MILLION!

There has been much talk about NJ Gov Chris Chistie running for president in 2012. The plot thickened this week when the ACLU filed charges on behalf of Gawker Entertainment's John Cook. Mr. Cook had sought information under the "Open Public Records Law."

There has been chatter that the now Pres of Fox news, who was also the former media consultant for President's Nixon, Reagan, and Bush Sr, has been advising a sitting governor on state matters.

Could there be misuse of Executive Power? Let the judge figure it out, but for now we all know that the residents of the state of New Jersey is picking up the gov's legal bills.

This is the same guy who was shamed into paying back his state for personal use of a state helicopter to attend his son's baseball games. In this article he sounds like a one term gov and doesn't have charge of the english language to even consider higher office read more here

And, listen closely. In the very beginning she notes that the applicant (her son) has a passport. Yeah, I replayed that twice because I found it impossible to mentally digest the idea of a US passport not being sufficient proof of residency. What's good enough to get back into the country isn't good enough to allow you to vote?

And, do also catch the bit about how they look at your bank activity and balance.....evidently conservatives struggle greatly with the concept of privacy from medical privacy to now your bank balance.

Chris Taylor almost assuredly will be the new state representative for the 48th Assembly District.

Taylor, 43, came out on top of a six-way primary election Tuesday to replace former state Rep. Joe Parisi, who was elected Dane County executive in April.

She faces no Republican opposition in the general election Aug. 9 and will take the seat barring a surprise write-in winner.

Taylor defeated Fred Arnold, Dave de Felice, Andy Heidt, Bethany Ordaz and Vicky Selkowe. Taylor received about 31 percent of 10,958 votes cast. Selkowe came in second.

Taylor, public policy director at Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin, said her connection with voters on key issues such as public education and the environment gave her the edge in the election.

There is help available for people who are no longer able to work. Many people think that if you aren't of a retirement age that you can't collect Social Security.

Occasionally, I have a moment to look at other blogs and see what is being discussed. I ran across something out there that is almost mythical.

Unions are made of people from all walks of life: doctors, nurses, teachers, professors etc. Is it our expectation that everyone of these Americans are democrats? I am a realist. NO!

So when a union endorses a republican the crowd goes livid and blasts the union for doing so. This is a democratic society and sometimes we all have to realize that the whole membership votes for endorsements not just the democrats in a union.

Very simple minded people say some of the stupidest (is that a word?) things!
