What Memorial Day Means To Me

America: land of opportunity, home of the brave and free.
Where the American flag and eagle fly for one and all to see.
Our nation's flag ripples proudly in the breeze,
From sunny California to the sandy shores of Maine,
All across America up to the ocean seas.
Many of our brave and patriotic sons and daughters, who fought on foreign shores,
Have now gone to their eternal rest.
On Memorial Day, Americans honors our veterans,
They deserve our praise and glory,
For they are truly our nation's best!
Some made the ultimate sacrifice to keep our country safe and free,
They paid our future obligations in the name of liberty.
Please do not take for granted the legacy they bequeath,
For these brave heroes never heard the words: 'run' or 'defeat'.

Social Networking and Your Privacy

I've been social networking now for a few years and although I wouldn't consider myself "hard core", I check FB daily and occasionally share pics and/or videos. But on a regular basis add incredibly witty comments to the crazy things that my friends post. Some are true classics! In recent days, I've become more and more concerned about what I read about social networking sites selling the information that they compile about me as I use their site.

Evidently, the 500,000,000 of us sharing our likes/dislikes, talking about where we go and what we do-is really big business-and by that I mean-big MONEY business. SNS sell our personal information as well as our content to third parties-who are clamoring to find potential sales. I mean I know they have to make money, but at what price to us-the users. And it seems so easy for private information shared on these sites to become available to everyone-I mean, you read terrible stories about things that happen as a result of private information made public from these sites.

A friend mentioned to me that she was using crazygood.com-a subscription-based social networking site that doesn't sell users' info or even allow ads. I still FB often but use it more as a search for friends now-because it's so massive. But if I want to SHARE info, photos, etc., I only use Crazygood. It just makes me feel more protected, and I'm back in control of my own information. MLM Myth Series - MLM Is All About Recruiting

99% of network marketing opportunities operate in basically the same way. They all have a range of products for you to sell and profit from, and you can find other people to do the same, and also profit from what they sell.

By setting up the opportunity this way they achieve a number of important goals: You don't have to fear competition [you profit from them], you have an incentive to grow the total number of company representatives, and you can continue to make money even when you've stopped working.

Now that's great, and you'll certainly make more money if you introduce more people into the business, BUT... you DON'T need to get anyone to join, and you don't need to be responsible for anyone else's success.

I'm going to destroy this extremely popular myth right now: You CAN earn decent money simply by selling products to people who want them.

Once you've built up your customer base and you know where to go to get your orders, you can earn a reliable income and enjoy yourself in the process.

Some people don't like the idea of recruiting other people into their business. And that's absolutely fine! How do they get around it? Simple. They just don't do it!

Wage Slave or Safe and Secure

Here's a fact for you: Most people think having a job is the safe and secure financial option. But... I think they're dead wrong.

We've been taught since we were children that we need to do well in school, get good grades, and get a safe and secure job. If we do that, the story goes, we will have succeeded in life. The only trouble is, it's no longer possible!

This myth of the high-earning respected employee with a job he can rely on keeps people TRAPPED every day of their lives. Schools teach us to be "wage slaves", telling us how to work for other people, and how to write a Resumé in the hope someone will hire us.

"Fortune Favors The Brave" - Publilius Terence

In the short term a job might be safer than starting your own business or joining a Network Marketing organisation, but only if you need some cash reliably for a couple of months, perhaps a year. But as a long term money-earning strategy a job is unwise.

Is a job safer than your own Network Marketing business? No way. Let's do a quick 'Freedom Test'.

Not a chance. If you don't believe me, test it. Walk up to your boss and ask him/her for a 20% salary increase. See what happens. My guess? Laughter...

Building a large MLM team and a large Twitter following are two rather similar pursuits. You have to build a large group of people who find you worth following. That is how you define popularity on Twitter and how you define success in MLM, and interestingly popularity on Twitter can lead to success in MLM!

As recruiting is all about reaching more of the right kind of person, and as Twitter now boasts millions of members, it is no longer something you can put off or ignore. Twitter is incredibly popular, the growth rate is exponential, and it's here to stay.

The same principles apply to both Twitter popularity and MLM success. You have to be someone worth following. You have to be an attractive personality. You have to have good tips and advice. Be both interested and interesting, and don't just be "all about the business". Just like in normal life, always taking about your business is boring and selfish. You've got to be more than your business opportunity - just be yourself!

There are thousands and thousands of your ideal prospects on Twitter, and you can reach them all. Just follow the simple advice in this article and you'll be well on your way to regular online recruiting, with just 5 minutes 'tweeting' per day!

So How Do You Find The Right People on Twitter?

1. search.twitter.com :: Twitter have their own search engine for finding the latest 'Tweets' on whatever keyword you type in. The Twitter search engine is great if you want to see what people are saying RIGHT NOW about a particular topic. Just type in MLM or DEBT or HATE MY BOSS or HATE MY JOB, or anything related to your business, and see who wrote what in the last few seconds. This tool is excellent for finding people perfect for your business right when they are in a mood to do something about it.

2. The Followers of Big Names In Your Niche :: One of the great things about Twitter's simplicity is the ease at which you can see who is following who, and how popular someone is. This means you can find a very popular person who reaches your target market (be it Mike Dillard for your recruiting, or a "health nut" for selling your products, etc) and effectively "steal" their followers! You simply click to see who is following them (i.e. who finds them interesting) and add them one by one. You can build your own audience by cleverly finding relevant people using search.twitter.com and following their followers using this method. Success!

3. Google :: We couldn't possibly talk about searching online without mentioning Google, the King of Search. Google is very focused on indexing Twitter in its database, with Google monitoring so much of the site on a regular basis that your posts show up in the Google index often within a matter of hours. Using Google to find people on Twitter is slightly different than using search.twitter.com because Google won't just show you the most recent results. Google will show you what it thinks are the most important mentions of your keyword or phrase on the whole of Twitter. You can search just twitter.com using Google by entering in your search term like this - site:twitter.com keywords

4. Let Them Find You :: It is very important you present yourself in a way that makes others want to know more about you. Use relevant keywords in your posts to show up in the Twitter search results, but don't forget that your audience is not search robots. You need to be attractive to the people you are trying to attract. You want them to see your profile and think "This guy/gal looks interesting!"

Facebook Puts the “Network” Back in Network Marketing

A favorite network marketing recruiting website for many people is Facebook.

Facebook really is all about networking. You can connect with friends, both old and new and build different networks of friends based on the things you have in common with them.

Aside from using Facebook to connect with friends, which is what many people use it for, you can also use it to create groups of friends, or to join groups that are built around your love of network marketing and MLM and a common desire for success.

Facebook is easy to join and allows members to create a profile that will give friends a comprehensive snapshot of you and what you're about. One of the features of Facebook is a “news feed” that is added to each time one of your friends changes status or does something like makes a comment or adds a link to his or her profile. This allows you to keep up with what your friends are up to and it alerts them to what you're doing.

To network on Facebook with other network marketers and MLM professionals your best bet is to connect with like-minded people through Facebook groups. You are likely to find several MLM and Internet marketing groups on Facebook that appeal to you and you can join each of them if you like. This gives people a way to see and get to know you and for you to get to know other marketers.

The point of joining groups on Facebook is to interact with other group members. You can learn from them and they can learn from you. A lot of good-natured idea and information sharing goes on, which leads to every participant having more resources for success. But you need to go beyond the groups in order to really benefit from Facebook networking.

Start to make “friends” with other group members. You can do this by going through group list and inviting individual group members to be your Facebook friends. One way to accomplish this is to go down the list and simply request each person as your friend. You can choose to send them a message along with your request, which is helpful if they don't already know you. But don't send the exact same message to each person – you'll be accused of spamming by Facebook and risk losing your membership!

Once your own friend list begins to grow, you might want to separate your friends into lists so you can keep track of them. For example, you can create a family list – that's where your family will go (obviously). Then you could create a college friends list, or a church friends list or whatever, and of course, you will want to create an MLM friends list. Eventually you will be able to post a new link on your profile and it will be seen by hundreds of people within a day or two.

The beauty of it is that you have the prospect of gaining new friends each time you add a friend to your list – they all have friends that you might like to connect with as well! As you can see, networking through Facebook is easy to do, and it has the potential for growing your list of connections by leaps and bounds!
