{it wouldn’t be friday faves without a song to kick off your weekend, right?}

oh friday i am so so happy you showed up. this week was crazy busy, from shipping jam like a madwoman to tying up loose ends to catching up with awesome wedding peeps to client meetings and deadlines… and i sure am ready to kick off the weekend with a date night tonight followed by a computer-free weekend for the most part. this morning i came across an ever-so-inspiring post that i read nearly a year ago but just re-read today to remind myself – don’t you love when you re-discover old treasures? me too.

* it was love at first sight when i spotted the berry baskets used in this sonoma soiree, designed by the amazingly talented bride herself

* planning to visit san francisco? make sure this is on your list. SO FUN. we’ve been twice :)

* i really hope this girl submitted her wedding somewhere. because it was nothing short of ridiculously amazing in every way.

i have so so so much on my list today but all i can think about is pulling these lovely blooms together for a very special bouquet. i put a note out there on facebook last week saying how much i’ve been dying to incorporate kumquats in a wedding bouquet and wouldn’t you know it, a very special photographer happened to have the perfect bride looking for something fun, whimsical and with lots of color, and a match was made.

so until my to-do list is completely checked off, these beauts will be waiting patiently for me, smelling sweet and looking pretty. i’d say that’s a pretty good reward for getting my work done today, don’t you think?

happy monday! this weekend went by WAY too fast! here’s a little recap through pics:

*i found a few more 4-leaf clovers and reconfirmed the reason why they need to be hidden in my new branding somewhere (which i can’t wait to show you)

*made a few more batches of jam for my jam grams (which have raised $250 so far!)

*bought a pretty new cake stand for no reason at all

*went to the rue magazine/gap party in my neighborhood

*put some fragrant gardenias in a mason

*went on a site visit with a lovely bride and fell in love with the view from their venue

*made some pretty bouquets with violet anemones

*sipped on margaritas at our favorite hidden hot spot

*oohhed and aahed over the jin wang gowns on the runway during a bridal event yesterday

*ate a box of thin mints. yes, a box. to myself. don’t judge.

say what? you haven’t sent a Jam Gram yet? you don’t know what it is, either? my side project, Jars of Love, is back at it with some yummy, fresh homemade jam and i thought it could be fun to create little packages so you could “spread love” to your loved ones. a jam gram is a package containing a jar of homemade jam, a notecard and a little elephant jam spreader. All proceeds are directly benefiting the MassGeneral Hospital for Children Cancer Center where my hometown friend’s son, Matthew Bolduc, a fun and brave 4 and a half year-old boy who is battling Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, is being treated. He loves to make arts and crafts in Preschool and his favorite activities include playing on the playground and swimming at the beach. Matthew also loves the Toy story movies and Clifford books. All proceeds (minus shipping and handling) from Jam Grams will be donated to this cause and 100% of your donation will be utilized for the children at the center.

i make my jam using a reduced-sugar recipe to let the fresh fruit flavor shine through. it tastes yummy by the spoonful if you’re my husband, or on an english muffin, or as a sweet topper for ice cream. i learned to make jam with my late grandmother, Mimi, and i use her techniques to this day with a little spin of my own additions here and there. i hope you enjoy it as much as i enjoy making it!

*i’m also working with this amazing guy for a seattle winery wedding in june. to say i’m freaking out with excitement is an understatement.

*i might just buy this dress in the wrong size and have it altered. that’s how much i love it.
