For an additional fee, some title insurance companies may also offer
you protection from additional risks that are not covered by a standard
title insurance policy, such as identity theft and certain known title
defects. Speak to your lawyer, title insurance company, or insurance
agent/broker to determine if you require extended or additional title
insurance coverage. They can compare several different title insurance
products and recommend the product that would best meet your needs.

another 3G trick. In my last post I
told you a trick to get free 100
Today i will tell you that how you
can use free Airtel 3G internet on
other service providers like
Vodafone , Reliance , Tata Docomo ,
browser for you PC. The
configurations will help you to
using Handler browser. The trick is
really very simple. I will tell you how
your Working Free real Host of
your State and save the notepad
As a PC guru you are followed by your friends and relatives or by others to make you to solve the irritating small PC software problems ;-( I knowyouare very frustrated by this because they even don't know how to describe their actual problem. That's it you are all set to go and solve the problem.

Start Up Repair: One time or other every body faces this start up problem for a reason or for no-reason, So its good to create a system repair disc straight away in case you run into problems booting the OS later on. Suppose you had selected your country as India, So that windows seven will install some wallpapers which are related to India. To unlock all the wallpapers just follow this simple steps.

When beginning a new SEO project, there are some questions that always come up during initial meetings. How does organic search work? Which keywords should we target? Do we need to redesign our entire website? And…how do we compare to our competition in natural search? I’m going to focus on the last question in this post, because there’s an important point I’d like to make. Whenever I ask someone who their competition is in natural search, I typically hear the names of their core competitors (business-wise). Although that’s true in a pure business sense, that’s not necessarily the case in natural search. So, I often run a competitive position analysis to determine where a site ranks in the search engines as compared to its competition. It helps you (and your client) understand who their actual competition is and then sets the stage for deeper competitive analysis.

Don’t drop names with Google…
Outside of search, you might be able to throw a big brand name around and get somewhere. Unfortunately, the search engines don’t necessarily care. That’s one of the reasons you’ll see all types of websites ranking for highly competitive keywords. Actually, I’d argue that some smaller online businesses can easily outmaneuver larger websites and companies in SEO. When it comes down to it, the engines care about quality content, a good user experience, relevancy, and popularity. In other words, create outstanding content that can be easily crawled and indexed, optimize that content based on keyword research, make it easy for your visitors to find and use your content, and if those visitors find that content valuable, you might gain important inbound links (AKA votes). If that happens, subsequent rankings can follow… BTW, you’ll notice I didn’t mention that you need to be a big brand or a multi-billion dollar company to do this. That’s part of the reason blogs have become so powerful. They give the small guy a voice…and that small guy can often outrank large companies in the SERPs. Empowering, yes? Scary to large businesses and big brands, you bet.

Seriously? That’s My Competition in Natural Search??
Yes, I hear this often (with a few other words that I cannot put on my blog!) Once you run a position analysis using competitive keywords (based on keyword research), you and your client can clearly see who owns the SERPs for those keywords. Sure, the rankings can change over time, but you have a snapshot of which sites are ranking at that point in time. Then, you can take the next step and perform a competitive analysis to help you determine what type of content ranks, how the websites structure their content, and which sites link to them. Remember, quality and relevant inbound links are the lifeblood of SEO.

Let’s take a look at a few examples:
Note, since search engine rankings change often, you might not see the same exact results that I did during my test.

Flatscreen TVs
HD TV’s are obviously hot, so let’s check out a competitive keyword like flatscreen tvs:

This is a great example. There are only 2 manufacturers in the top 10 (Samsung at #7 and Westinghouse Digital at #10, which isn't visible in the screenshot above). More on Samsung in a minute. The rest of the sites include reviews, news stories, a buying guide, an e-commerce website, etc. I’ll bet if you walked into LG, Panasonic or Samsung and asked who they compete with in natural search for a keyword like flatscreen tv's, you would hear the other big brands and not the sites in this list. Note, Samsung was pretty smart with creating the page that ranks on their website. Someone at Samsung (cough, cough, SEO guy), understood what people are searching for and provided that content on Samsung.com (Pagerank 8...) There are other good things about this page that I'd like to cover, but that’s for another post. :)

Cabernet Sauvignon
Any wine drinkers out there? Imagine you owned a winery and had an award winning cab? You would probably want to rank highly, right? Let’s see which sites rank for the keyword cabernet sauvignon:

Wow, I’m not exactly a wine connoisseur, but I don’t see any popular wine brands here (other than in the shopping results, which I'll tackle in a minute). You have Wikipedia (big surprise), about.com, an article about Obama, and then a spattering of other wine-related educational pages. Needless to say, this list of websites is probably not what a leading winery would expect to find ranking for cabernet sauvignon.

Enter Universal Search: Also, in the middle of the page you will see shopping results listed. This is Universal Search in action, where Google is mixing additional types of results within the organic rankings. More on this below, but you should start to think about all the different ways you can rank in organic search beyond traditional webpage content. For example, video, images, news, shopping, local, etc.

HD Video Camera
HD Video is all the rage, let’s take a look at the keyword HD Video Camera:

Very interesting. There’s only one big brand in the list (Canon at #4). The rest of the list includes reviews at cnet, an announcement from camcorderinfo.com, two YouTube videos (more on this in a minute), some news results, and then amazon.com. Again, if you walked into Sony, Panasonic, or Canon, do you think they would guess that they are competing against YouTube videos? Probably not. On that note, you can see Universal Search in action here again, with two video thumbnails in the organic results (at least at the time of my test). One is from Tiger Direct and the other is from Chris Pirillo! Great job Chris, you outrank major manufacturers of HD video cameras. :)

So, if you haven’t started thinking about Universal Search and the impact that it can have, just take a closer look at the screenshot above. I think you’ll change your mind. There's also a news result right under the video thumbnails. Both the video results and news results are powerful, especially since they have thumbnails associated with them. If you are interested in learning more about optimizing your video content, then check out my post about Video SEO.

Fuel Efficient Cars
Based on the spike in gasoline prices during 2008, let’s check out a search for fuel efficient cars:

Holy smokes, there’s not 1 car manufacturer in the list. Not 1. I highly doubt that Ford, Honda, Toyota, Chrysler, and GM would take me seriously if I walked in and said that they compete with a government agency, a green publication, and a newspaper in natural search! That said, you need content on your site in order to rank... I was shocked to see several car manufacturer websites without a single occurrence of the keyword fuel efficient cars. I had to check a few times to believe it...

You will also see another example of Universal Search in the screenshot above. Google is providing news results mixed in the organic rankings (in the middle of the page). This is just another reason to start thinking about all of the ways to rank in organic search (and the different types of content you can optimize). All of your digital assets come into play with universal search.

So, are you ready to conduct a position analysis?
OK, I think you get the point. Performing a position analysis is an important step in understanding your actual competition in natural search. I would begin the process by identifying your competitive keywords via extensive keyword research and then determine where you rank against your competition for those keywords. Then, once you know the competition, you should complete a thorough competitive analysis to see how you can strengthen your organic search power and increase your search engine rankings.

Good luck and be ready for some interesting looks as you tell people who they really compete with in natural search. :)
What’s the connection? Well, at the end of the each performance and each show, Ryan Seacrest gives you a 4 digit code that you can use to text message your vote for your favorite contestant. For example, text “Vote” to 5706 to vote for Jane Smith. Well, 5706 is a short code. Although TV has made short codes famous in the US, it’s still not as popular as in other parts of the world. In my opinion, its popularity will begin to grow in the US, and sooner than later... Common Short Codes (CSC) are basically the domain names of the mobile age, yet many marketers still don’t know much about them, which is crazy, since Mobile Marketing will be an important element in your marketing mix in the near future. My hope is that after you read this post, you’ll agree that SMS can be used creatively to enhance your marketing campaigns. I’ll explain more about this later in the post.

Basic Information and Definitions About Mobile Messaging and Short Codes:

Let’s define SMS – It stands for Short Message Service and it enables you to send text messages on your mobile device. When you hear people talk about “text messaging” or “texting”, they are referring to SMS.

Let’s also define Common Short Code – A short numeric code of 5 or 6 numbers that can be used in place of a longer phone number for messaging. Since the codes are shorter, they are easier to remember and utilize, especially for marketing purposes. i.e. Text “Vote” to 5706 to cast your vote…

How to Obtain a Short Code and How Much Do They Cost?
You can visit the Common Short Code Administration’s website and review the process for obtaining a short code. In a nutshell, a "select" short code, or vanity code, is $1000 per month and a random short code (random numbers) is $500 per month. Both must be paid up front and you can lease a short code for 3, 6, and 12 months. A select short code (or vanity code) would be something like COKE, IDOL, JEEP, etc. Once you obtain your short code, then you’ll need to gain approval from the wireless providers for routing your common short code (CSC) throughout their network. Then, in order to implement your CSC, you’ll probably want to get in touch with an application provider and connection aggregator that already have relationships with the specific providers. Think about it in normal web terms, you can register a domain name, but what does that really get you?? You still need a website built and way for visitors to do something on your site, right? You can talk more with a connection aggregator about what you’ll need in place for your campaigns.

OK, Use Short Codes for Mobile Marketing…But How?
There are literally dozens of ways to creatively use short codes for marketing purposes from voting to contests to rewards programs to wom to viral marketing. American Idol made using short codes for voting famous and you can use SMS marketing for the same purpose. That’s definitely a natural fit (especially for your customers who have used SMS for voting in the past…) You can also use short codes for lead generation. For example, include your short code in an advertisement and have people text the code to learn more about your service or product. You can use short codes for subscriptions purposes. For example, have people text your short code to sign up to receive notifications when your product or service is updated. Are you ready to launch a viral marketing campaign? Use short codes within your viral campaign to give customers access to additional information, media, ringtones, etc. How about organic word of mouth marketing (WOM)? Maybe you set up a short code that your company evangelists can use to post updates about their latest word of mouth experience. i.e. They just spoke with someone on the train into Manhattan about your product, so they quickly message your short code with the details. Running a rewards program? Enable your members to text their latest promotional codes to your common short code to increase their rewards points. I can keep going here, but it obviously can be an extremely useful tool for a smart mobile marketer. You just need to think creatively and keep mobile in mind…

Glenn Gabe and the Internet Marketing Driver, Mobile-Style
In closing, I hope this post helped you gain a better understanding of common short codes and how mobile marketing can be a part of your marketing mix. If you haven’t thought of using short codes for marketing purposes, my recommendation is to start thinking about it now. Actually, your desired vanity short code may be registered already! Don’t get caught like many did with domain names…get your short codes sooner than later.

Now, have any of you already worked with short codes as part of your marketing campaigns? If so, I’d love to hear your thoughts and ideas. Post a comment now!

CALLBACK UNITS:

Callback units are a good security device, But with most phone systems,
it is quite possible for the hacker to use the following steps to get
around a callback unit that uses the same phone line for both incomming
and out going calls:First, he calls he callback unit and enters any
authorized ID code (this is not hard to get,as you'll see in a moment).
After he enters this ID, the hacker holds the phone line open - he does
not hang up. When the callback unit picks up the phone to call the user back,
the hacker is there, waiting to meet it.

The ID code as I said, is simple for a hacker to obtain, because these
codes are not meant to be security precautions. The callback unit itself
provides security by keeping incomming calls from reaching the computer.
The ID codes are no more private than most telephone numbers. Some callback
units refer to the codes as "location identification numbers," and some
locations are used by several different people,so their IDs are fairly
well known.I've been told that, in some cases, callback ubits also have
certain simple codes that are always defined by default. Once the hacker
has entered an ID code and the callback unit has picked up the phone to
re-call him,the hacker may or may not decide to provide a dial tone to
allow the unit to "think" it is calling the correct number. In any event,
the hacker will then turn on his computer, connect with the system - and
away he goes.If the however, the hacker has trouble holding the line with
method,he has an option: the intercept.

The Intercept:
Holding the line will only work with callback units that use the same
phone lines to call in and to call out. Some callback units use different
incoming and outgoing lines, numbers 555-3820 through 555-3830 are dedicated
to users' incoming calls, and lines 555-2020 through 555-2030 are dedicated
to the computers outgoing calls. The only thing a hacker needs in order to
get through to these systems is a computer and a little time - he doesn't
even need an ID code. First, the hacker calls any one of the outgoing phone
lines, which, of course, will not answer.Sooner or later, though, while the
hacker has his computer waiting there, listening to the ring, an authorized
user will call one of the incomming lines and request to be called back.
It will usually be less than an hours wait, but the hacker's computer
is perfectly capable of waiting for days, if need be.

The callback unit will take the code of the authorized user, hang up,
verify the code, and pick up the phone line to call back.If the unit
tries to call out on the line the hacker has dialed, the hacker has his
computer play a tone that sounds just like a dial tone. The computer will
then dial the number given that matches up with the user's authorized ID.
After that, the hacker can just connect his computer as he would in any
other case.If he is really serious,he will even decode the touch tones
that the mainframe dialed, figure out the phone number of the user the
system was calling, call the person, and make a few strange noises that
sound as though the computer called back but didnt work for some reason.

2) TRAPDOORS AS A POSSIBLILITY

I haven't heard of this happening, but i think it is possible that a
callback modem could have a trapdoor built into it.Callback modems are
run by software, which is written by programmers. An unscrupulous programmer
could find it very easy to slip in an unpublicized routine, such as,
"if code =*43*, then show all valid codes and phone numbers." And such a
routine, of course, would leave security wide open to anyone who found the
trapdoor. The obvious protection here, assuming the situation ever arises,
is simply an ethical manufactorer that checks its software thoroughly before
releasing it.

A trapdoor is a set of special instructions embedded in the large
program that is the operating system of a computer.A permanent,
hopefully secret "doorway", these special instructions enabe anyone who
knows about them to bypass normal security procedures and to gain access to
the computer's files.Although they may sound sinister, trapdoors were not
invented by hackers, although existing ones are certainly used by hackers
who find out about them.

3) THE DECOY

One of the more sophisticated hacking tools is known as the decoy, and it
comes in three versions. The first version requires that the hacker have an
account on the system in question. As in my case, the hacker has a
low-security account, and he tries this method to get higher-security
account. He will first use his low-security account to write a program that
will emulate the log-on procedures of the systems in questions.
This program will do the following:

*- Clear the terminal screen and place text on it that makes everything
look as if the system is in charge.

*- Prompt for, and allow the user to enter, both an account name and a password.
*- Save that information in a place the hacker can access.

*- Tell the use the account/password entries are not acceptable.

The user will now assume that the account name or password was mistyped
and will try again...this time (scince the real operating system is in

4) CALL FORWARDING

Many people use call forwarding by special arrangement with the phone
company. When a customer requests call forwarding, the phone company uses
its computer to forward all the customers incomeing calls to another
number. Lets say, for example, that you want calls that come to your office
phone to be forwarded to your home phone: A call from you to the phone
company, some special settings in the phone companys computer, and all
calls to your office will ring at your home instead. This little bit of help
from the phone company is another tool used by hackers. Lets say you thought
that the computer you were hacking into was being watched-because the
sysop might have seen you and called the fed's and your sort of bugged by
this nagging feeling that they will trace the next hacker that calls,
just call the phone company and ask for call forwarding, pick a number,
(ANY NUMBER) out of the phone book and have your calls forwarded to that
number,Hea,Hea, the number you picked is the one that will be traced to,
not yours, so you could be hacking away, they think that they have traced you,
but actually the number you had your calls forwarded too. they enter chat mode
and say (YOUR BUSTED!!!!, WE'VE TRACED YOUR PHONE NUMER THE FEDS ARE ON THE
WAY!!), You could reply (Hea, SURE YA DID! I'D LIKE TO SEE YA TRY AND GET ME!
GO AHEAD!) ,that wont seem very important to them at the time, but it will
sure piss them off when they bust the wrong guy!

5) RAPID FIRE

Memory-location manipulation can be helpful, but there is another, more
powerful, possibility, in some cases: the Rapid-fire method. To understand how
this methos works, you have to know something about the way operationg
systems work. When a user enters a command, the operating system first places
the command in a holding area, a buffer, where it will sit for a few
millionths of a second. The system looks at the command and say's "Does this
person really have authorization to do this, or not?" Then, the command
sits there a few thousandths of a second while the system runs off to
check the user's authorization. When the system comes back to the command,
it will have one of two possible answers: "OK, GO AHEAD," or "SORRY,
GET PERMISSION FIRST."

Once you are on a system that handles things this way, you can

The morning of March 2nd started out fairly normally. I moved quickly to get ready and jumped on my computer to check email, twitter, my feeds, etc. So I launched Outlook and happened to see an email from one of my good friends Matt Leonard (or @mjleonard if you are on Twitter). He's a great guy and a smart marketer so we're in touch often. The email was sent from Matt's gmail account and the subject line communicated the urgency of his message.

Apparently, Matt flew to Nigeria the night before to attend the Tinapa Opening Ceremony. {???} He ended up staying at a hotel, which was attacked by armed robbers. {OK...} They took all of his money and his wallet.  His email explained that he needed money badly, to the tune of $1500 so he could settle his hotel bill. {LOL} He seemed very scared and he emphasized that he needed the money sent as soon as possible. As you can imagine, I was genuinely concerned for Matt... {sarcasm}

Yes, Matt's gmail account had been hacked and I'm sure many people received the same email I did. Here was the original email:

Hello I am in a hurry writing this message, I had a trip to West Africa *NIGERIA* on visiting the TINAPA OPENING CEREMONY, Unfortunately for me all my money got stolen at the hotel where i lodged from the attack of some armed robbers.Right now,I'm without money and I'm even owing the hotel here, the hotel telephone service is disconnected,i have only access to emails,my mobile phone can't work here so i didn't bring it along, please can you lend me $1500 so i can return back and settle the hotel bills i would return it back to you as soon as i get home, I am so confused right now.You can have it sent through western union money transfer. My passport is with the Embassy here so i cant use my name to collect it now, But you can have it sent directly to a western union Manager here and i would get it through him as he helps the people here in the hotel to receive the money, I have already spoken to him, please let me hear from you so i can collect his full name and address where you can send the money tomorrow please,or if possible today. I am waiting for your reply.

Thank you. I look forward to your positive response.

Regards.

-----------------

OK, this was absolutely ridiculous, but being the good friend I am, I still wanted to reach out to Matt as soon as possible to let him know what was going on. I was pretty confident he didn't know yet. Now, I didn’t know if his actual account was taken over. I simply thought that someone was blasting out emails using his address as the sender. There’s a difference between the two. So, I created a new email (which was sent to his gmail account) informing him that his email address had been compromised. Unfortunately, that was the only email address I had for Matt...

It was a brief email that looked like this:

--------------------------

Hi Matt.

I just received a spam email from your gmail acct. Not sure if it's
widespread or not, but wanted to let you know.

It was one of those Nigerian schemes.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Glenn

-----------------------

It was only a few minutes when I received an email back from Matt. My guess was that he wanted to quickly thank me for notifying him of the scam. I opened the email and was shocked to see that the original email from Matt wasn't a joke! Matt was in fact in Nigeria at a hotel and needed money. {sarcasm yet again}

You see, “Matt” actually responded to my email!

Holy smokes, the scammers who hacked Matt's gmail were answering emails right from his account! I'll admit it, that creeped me out. Read their response to my email below:

Hello,

Its not a scam mail, i am really there now. i need you to help me with $1500, i shall pay you as soon as a i return. i hope to read from you asap. below is the info where the money will be sent to....

------------------

So, I direct messaged Matt via Twitter notifying him of the hack, this time using only 140 characters or less. :) Before long, I received a DM back from Matt that he was handling the situation. He thanked me, and got back to fixing the problem. So, after Matt recovered his gmail account (and after he got pummeled by jokes on Twitter), I asked him about the steps he took to recover his gmail account.

After this happened to Matt, I asked myself if I would know what to do... I really didn't. I'm sure I would eventually figure it out, but I didn't know the exact steps. So with Matt's assistance, I decided to write this post to document the steps you should take to recover your gmail account after it has been compromised.

So in Matt’s own words, here’s how to handle the situation:

The process was pretty simple.

First, from the Gmail login page, select "I can not access my account".

Second, select the radio button "My account has been compromised". This will show a new prompt below "Please fill out our account recovery form to help us process your request as quickly as possible". Follow that link.

From the Account Recovery page, select "I believe someone has taken over my account" and fill out as much information as possible.

In my case, Google had contacted me pretty quickly via my alternate email with instructions to reset my password. {Glenn: Make sure your alternate email is active. You can check this from your Google account settings. You can also add additional email addresses just in case.}

Some other useful notes from Matt:
I'm not sure how someone hacked my gmail account. I did make a mistake by using the same password on way too many things. My main passwords are now individually unique. Passwords I set up for vendor accounts are no longer the same as I would use for other more sensitive services, like online banking.

Matt’s Tips to Protect to Your Logins:
1. Avoid unsecured networks
2. Don't use the same password everywhere.
3. Don't duplicate your email password with any login elsewhere (if you do, someone can use your email to login to your other accounts).
4. Change passwords periodically.
5. Don't share your passwords with anyone. Even if they're not going to abuse it, they may not store it properly.
6. Know where you enter passwords. 3rd party Twitter apps that require passwords are a perfect example of sites that people will enter their password without much familiarity aside from a tweet referral.

--------------------

So there you have it. If you wake up one morning and everyone is asking how and why you checked into a Nigerian Hotel, forgot your wallet, ran up a $1500 bill, and now need money, you'll know how to handle it. :) And definitely feel free to connect with Matt on Twitter. It's ok to joke around with him about the situation. He's a nice guy and has handled the jokes with grace. But don't go too far, he can bench press 375 pounds and used to be a minor league hockey player. ;-)
INTRODUCTION TO HACKING
=======================
Hacking is the art of attempting everything until something finally works.
The average hacker is usually only armed with educated guesses. Why hack?
Generally, you have some reason. My favorite reason being that it's fun. But
these days are getting pretty suspicious and you have to watch yourself when
hacking even if you don't have malicious intents. Hacking is lots of work and
is also dangerous. So be careful and don't get caught!

HOW TO NOT GET CAUGHT
=====================
Okay great, how do I avoid getting caught? That depends on what you are
doing. In this file I will be discussing UNIX System V and therefore my
suggestions should only be taken as pertaining to that. Even if you follow
my suggestions, you can still get caught. Some operators are extremely
persistant and will stop at nothing to nail you. If modems start answering
when you pick up a phone, or you become known as the "human carrier" by your
friends, then I suggest you lay low for awhile.
Here are some obvious things to be aware of when you are hacking by modem,
I thought I'd include them in case you overlook them. You should always be
on the lookout for these types of suspicious activity.
1] Excessive line noise in an area that usually has none.
2] You hear other voices simultaneously on the phone line.
This occasionally happens normally with the old analog FDM
multiplex equipment. But it also can be caused by a wire tap,
so try to be careful here! * See the note on wire taps.
3] Any van or minivan parked next to:
        a] A telephone pole.
b] An underground steam vent hole.
c] Also watch for cloth tee-pees with MA BELL symbols on them
           near poles or steam vents.
This is a *DEAD GIVAWAY*!!! If you see this, cease all hacking
for at least a month! (An make sure that the vans are GONE,
--NOT-- just moved to another location!)
       >> Check for wires going to the van from the pole, or vent. And
check to see if the van is white (FBI uses these alot) or a
          phone co. van.
4] Watch the abandoned rooms in your building, if they suddenly have
lots of equipment in them, take note here!
5] Anything unusual about the way your phone service operates that
the neighbors don't seem to have going on!
That's all I can come up with right now. But I'm sure there are more.

WIRE TAPS
=========
Belive it or not, this is still one of the most commonly used methods
of nabbing a hacker. The above list is a good guide to detecting an active
wire tap. If you can afford the equipment, you can do what is know as a
"sweep" of the phone line every now and then. Another thing you can do is
build a device which monitors the phone line voltage. If the voltage suddenly
drops during use, you either have a wire tap or someone picked up an extension.
Here are some specs for monitoring line voltage:
    Ringer voltage:90V at 20-30Hz
    On-Line:30-50V
Clear voltage:600V (Watch out! This will toast any MOV you have
in your modem! Usually this is used to fuse noisy
                        phone lines shut.)
The average cops don't have the equipment to properly implement a wire tap,
much less a data tap. However, I have heard of data cops in Seattle and
Chicago.

TRACING PHONE CALLS
===================
Here is yet another way you can get your butt caught. It is getting
easier and easier for the average person to trace phone calls. I just
found out a few days ago that dialing 33 on an on-campus phone will trace
the last call to that phone. Rest assured that an operator will use this
to nab you if he can. This however, only affects remote dial-ups, and not
the on-campus links. Remote dial-ups used to be so safe, but no more...
-- more --A good place to hack from is a nearby terminal room. *NOT* in the same
building that you live in! Do it at night, so if there is a system operator
at all on duty late he will probably be sleeping.

RFI READING
===========
This is a fairly new method of catching hackers, and I really don't think
the average hacker has much to worry from it. It is too complex to implement
and doesn't even work most of the time. Especially if you're in an area that
has lots of TV's or computer monitors. The device used basicly reads the
faint radio frequencies created by your monitor and translates them back into
a video signal. When it actually does work the guy running it can see exactly
what you are seeing on your monitor. Pretty tricky, but he has to be able to
pick out your signal first.

ESS -- IT'S BAD
===============
Alright boys and girls, on top of everything else in the world we now are
bless with the wonders of Electronic Standardized Switching. Or otherwise
known as ESS. Remember that sharp increase in your phone bill about a year
ago? "It's a new computerized system designed to allow quicker routing of
your calls". Bullshit. It sole purpose is to catch phreakers. That's all
it does, and it does it well. With this, the phone co. can trace a call in
-- more --.55 seconds to anywhere. It keeps records on all calls, including local!
And just about every phone box in the books will not only refuse to work,
ESS will notify the cops when you try to use it!
Have some faith. ESS is not exactly the end of the world either. Like
every system ever come up with, people will hack it. And eventually it will
be just as easy to hack ESS as it was to do on the old phone system.

                    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
                       Okay! Enough beginner's stuff!
Onward to hacking UNIX System V !
                    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Not much here: I just started this paper, and am still looking for
anything I can add to it!
Remember: The operator can see what you are doing at all times! But
usually they don't care or the information scrolls by so
fast they don't have time to read it.
Note: If you flub up your password or try to access secured files, the
system will automaticly record everything that you do! And on
some systems, the system will record everything you do anyway!

HOW TO LOG ON UNDER ANOTHER USER'S NAME
=======================================
This is the heart of hacking a UNIX system. You don't want to do any
hacking under any ID that can be associated with you. And you don't want
to use another user's ID more than once if at all possible.

There really is no way to get a name and password without first having
some level of access to the system. How do I get in then? I rely on the
fact that our GANDALF data switch is extremely unstable. 1 out of 5 logins
will drop you under someone else's name *NO QUESTIONS ASKED*. Just change
parity (8N1 to E71) alot while GANDALF is loading UNIX. Eventually, you
will get in this way. This happens because a user hung up on the phone
line without loggig off! So be sure to log yourself off the system when
you finish with *ANY* work.

They saw. A couple of days ago I was doing this and somehow I was
logged off of the system. The words "LOGOFF" just appeared on my command
prompt and entered themselfs. I suspect the guy whose number I used was in
-- more --the terminal room monitored by a superuser. And he just told the SU that
there appeared to be two of him. (Probably used the WHO command).

THE LOCK OUT
============
Believe it or not, UNIX will actually allow you to lock out other
users from the system. First, you select a target person. Then you place
the file VI.LOGIN in their default directory (the one that UNIX automaticly
loads them into when they log onto the system). You set up VI.LOGIN like
this:

          VI.LOGIN (Just the file name!)
          logout

So VI.LOGIN only contains one command. VI.LOGIN is automaticly executed
when a person logs onto the system. So as soon as your pigeon gets onto the
system he immeadiatly gets logged off!

Suggested Uses: On a Prof a few days before your assignment is due.
Someone you really don't like (wait a few weeks so they
don't figure it out right away!)
It might work on the ROOT (The SuperUser's name)

GETTING NEW NAMES
=================
Here is yet another way to gather SEVERAL users names AND PASSWORDS.
First, (the hard part) wait until the beginning of a semester. Now,
somehow you have to get a list of the ID numbers for students in UNIX-
oriented classes. You can usually find one of these lists posted outside
a professor's office (try the computer science building) or one of many
other places. Anyways, you have a list of student ID numbers.

Now, preferably on the first day of class, start logging in as a few
(maybe 3-4) students. I prefer to use ID's from low-level (100's) classes
as the students will just think that they've screwed up. Log into the
system, and if the student hasn't been on the system before, you will
be prompted for a password! And viola! You not only have access but also
you have the password of your choice. This happens because the computing
faculty is too lazy to pass out customized passwords to thier students.
New students are expected to select their own passwords, but that means
that the system won't be able to tell who is who!

Suggested Uses: Most likely your access won't stay good for more than
a few days. You might want to take full advantage of it
and really cause some havoc. For one thing, you could
lock out an entire computer class! (See LOCK OUT
described above). If you're really good, and can crack
the coded passwords in the PASSWRDS file, then you can
get the Super-User (SU) password and have all the fun
                 you want!

                                  =========
                                   THE END
                                  =========

                                And Remember!
This paper was provided for educational purposes only!

                              Special thanks to:
                              ==================
                              The Mad Phone-Man
                              The Grey Sorcerer
                               The Sneak Thief
                               Harry Hackalot

1) CALLBACK UNITS:

*- turn control of the terminal back over to the system.

The user will now assume that the account name or password was mistyped
and will try again...this time (scince the real operating system is in
control) with more success. You can see a diagram of the way these steps are
accomplished

|____________________|

Once you are on a system that handles things this way, you can
But have you ever stopped and asked yourself – how in God’s name 3D works? Ok, that might not be too hard to answer, but glassless 3D technology? Is 3D the start of a complete new technological age?
3D Technology: From Beginning Until The Glasses-Free Period

The History of 3D Technology

You think 3D is a recent discovery? It’s actually not. People started talking and analyzing 3D technology even in the 19th century, when Sir Charles Wheatstone described the process of stereopsis: ”the mind perceives an object of three-dimensions by means of the two dissimilar pictures projected by it on the two retinae”. In plain English, this basically means that two similar overlaid images project another one, more realistic for your sense of perception.

Why did the first, “old” 3D glasses had blue and red colors? Well, because it was easy for each eye to identify those two different images and then to overlay them. Each eye would get its own “point of view”, and the red and blue colors were used to separate the pictures so that in the end you could have a 3D environment. But, if you recall, the quality wasn’t so great; I even had headaches and it had a “ghost-like” aspect.

Another solution for high-quality 3D was to use polarized glasses which could orient the light in vertical or horizontal directions. One eye image could be projected on vertical basis and another on horizontal but it would get real blurry if you decided to move your head. That’s why they had to improve it, making the 3D to work onrotational polarity, instead of vertical it would be clockwise in one eye and instead of horizontal – counterclockwise in another eye. So that’s why you can now watch your favorite movie in 3D and move at your own comfort.

Have you ever wondered how does it work? Mashableexplains it simple and in plain words:The glasses are synced up to your television and actively open and close shutters in front of your eyes, allowing only one eye to see the screen at a time. This sounds like a recipe for a stroke, but the shutters move so quickly that they’re hardly noticeable. These shutter lenses are made possible because of the refresh rate on televisions. 3D-enabled televisions have high image refresh rates, meaning the actual image on screen is quickly loaded and reloaded. Through the glasses, you receive one constant image instead of a flicker.
From Web browsers to cell phones, soon you'll be able to spend all day in the Googleverse and never have to leave. Will Google make the jump to building its own PC operating system next?

What is it? It's everything, or so it seems. Google Checkout provides an alternative to PayPal. Street View is well on its way to taking a picture of every house on every street in the United States. And the fun is just starting: Google's early-beta Chrome browser earned a 1 percent market share in the first 24 hours of its existence. Android, Google's cell phone operating system, is hitting handsets as you read this, becoming the first credible challenger to the iPhone among sophisticated customers.

When is it coming? Though Google seems to have covered everything, many observers believe that logically it will next attempt to attack one very big part of the software market: the operating system.

The Chrome browser is the first toe Google has dipped into these waters. While a browser is how users interact with most of Google's products, making the underlying operating system somewhat irrelevant, Chrome nevertheless needs an OS to operate.

To make Microsoft irrelevant, though, Google would have to work its way through a minefield of device drivers, and even then the result wouldn't be a good solution for people who have specialized application needs, particularly most business users. But a simple Google OS--perhaps one that's basically a customized Linux distribution--combined with cheap hardware could be something that changes the PC landscape in ways that smaller players who have toyed with open-source OSs so far haven't been quite able to do.

Check back in 2011, and take a look at the not-affiliated-with-Google gOS, thinkgos in the meantime.
