Many people don’t know what to do once they become Fans of a Facebook Fan Page. They simply don’t know what to expect. So, you must keep your Fans interested by posting fresh, relevant updates to the page. Think of these updates as tiny morsels of valuable information being served up to a hungry crowd of knowledge seekers. Your fans are looking for something, and they believe they found it when they joined your Fan Page, don’t let them down. Social Media is an effective way of extending your brand as well as delivering content to wherever your readers are. Whether that be on iPads, smartphones or PC’s, it is your job to provide your fans with significant opportunities to interact and engage with you on all business levels.

Keep in mind that people still want to be addressed on a human level. Just because you are communicating in a digital world, does not mean you shouldn’t add a human touch. Speaking to your Fans instead of speaking at them can resolve the problem of low Fan Page engagement.

Now that you’ve built your Page, you need to get some fans. Here are a few ideas to get you started.

Create an engaging Page. Use applications like the discussion board and YouTube video box to add more interesting and engaging content to your Page. Give users a reason to become a fan of your Page and engage with you.

Leverage the viral nature of Facebook – the news feed. The added benefit of creating an engaging page is that every time a fan engages with your page – from becoming a fan to posting a comment to attending an event – that activity is published to their “news feed” which is seen by all of their friends on Facebook. When a user first logs into Facebook, they see a feed of their friends’ recent activity, so each and every activity of your fans on your page gets shared with a greater network, giving your business more visibility.

Draw on your existing network. You most likely already have email subscribers and blog readers – so make sure they know that they can now become a fan of your business on Facebook. Consider emailing your opt-in mailing list, including a link to your page in your email signature, blogging about your Facebook page, and posting a link or badge to your page on your website or blog.

Make your Page publicly searchable. By default, your Page will be public so that it can get indexed by search engines and give you the opportunity to drive organic search traffic to your Page. If you don’t notice your page showing up in searches, make sure you have set it to be publicly indexed and searchable. Go to Edit Page and then Settings and set your page to be “Published (publicly visible).”

Use Facebook Ads for an extra push. Facebook ads allow you to advertise a website or something on Facebook, including Pages, groups, and events. If you’re familiar with Google Adwords, the system for building and running ads on Facebook is very similar.

Setting up Skype is one of the easiest tasks that anyone with a computer can do. There is basically zero technical knowledge required, aside from the basic understanding of how to download and install a computer application.

Skype is used around the world to connect different people together without having to make expensive international phone calls through a landline or mobile phone. The way that Skype operates is through a system called VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) that allows a cheap and convenient method by transmitting over the Internet. Q: I use keywords with my pay-per-clicks. Is there more that I can do to get a better conversion rate? Also, are there any other ways to use keywords more effectively in my retail marketing?

Keywords and phrases should be used in every aspect of your marketing, whether it be on or offline. After all, they are helping you target your market.

In the last Marketing Tidbits, I explained how and why I chose the products I did. In this Marketing Tidbits, I will explain how I go about choosing my keywords and phrases for those products.

For a quick recap of the categories and products from last Marketing Tidbits, here are the four product categories that I chose from the Veriuni Store:

Food
Wellness/Nutrition
Magazine Rack
Telecommunications

The items I chose are as follows:

Food category: Java Coffee
Wellness/Nutrition:
Veriuni Advanced Oxidant with Red Wine Extract
Veriuni Advanced Liquid Nutrition
Veriuni Advanced Weight Loss
Magazine Rack: All of the categories
Telecommunications: Long Distance Phone Services

I will start with choosing the keywords and phrases for pay-per-click search engines. Now that I know the products and categories I have chosen, I start picking my keywords with three different keyword search tools. By using the following, you can pick quite a few keywords and phrases to use in your pay-per-click search engines.

First, I go to the following keyword search sites and start with the categories for the products that I have chosen. I either write down the keywords and phrases, print the page, copy and paste them to a word processing document, or type them directly into the pay-per-click search engine.

Overture's Keyword Selector Tool: Overture's Keyword Selector Tool lets you search for your keyword and phrases related to your sites.
Good Keywords: Good Keywords is a free software download that lets you search for keywords and phrases that you can use in your pay-per-click ad campaigns and Websites.
Wordtracker: Wordtracker site has a free trial, or you can pay for your keywords and have them emailed to you. I suggest just using the free trial, as this can give you the list of words and phrases that you need for submitting to search engines that you plan to use.

Then, I move on to the individual items and do the same thing. By the time you are done with the three keyword search tools, you should have a very nice list of keywords and phrases.

I then go to the following two sites and choose the pay-per-click search engines that best fit the products I am going to advertise. While you are at each site, check out their keywords as well and any new ones you find to your list of keywords and phrases:

Now that you have your pay-per-click search engines set up, be sure to go back at least once a week to check what keywords and phrases are pulling in your clicks. Keep track of these clicks over a month's time and delete the ones that haven't received any clicks at all. Then over the next two to three months, watch the lowest clicked words and phrases and start deleting them.

You will also want to keep checking back with the keyword search tools to check on your keyword popularity. In some instances, I have found new words and phrases to add to my lists. The average surfer has a tendency to change some of their searching habits.

Now that I have covered keywords and pay-per-clicks it is time for you to know how I use keywords in selecting free classified advertising sites. Keep in mind that we are talking about using these tools for retail selling.

I'll start by using the same categories I mentioned in searching for classified sites. I type the following types of search phrases into search engines:

free food classified sites
free wellness classified sites
free nutrition classified sites
free magazine classified sites
free telecommunication classified sites

I then go through several of the pages on each of the search engines, adding the sites to Adwizard. Sometimes I go ahead and place my ads once I have gone through the searches on at least three search engines; sometimes I wait until I am done with several searches. I usually can find at least 20 to 50 classified sites with each different keyword and phrase search.

I then go to the next type of keyword search using the same technique. Wondering what I mean by this? I change the keyword or make it a keyword phrase in the same category.

For example:

free coffee classified sites
free cooking classified sites

With these two phrases then, I am able to advertise the Veriuni Java Coffee product or any of the cooking magazines in these classifieds. Yes, this is time consuming, but it can be very well worth the time as you are now competing less against other Strong Future International Affiliates.

You then will need to continue this with more specific keywords and phrases for each individual product. The more different types of keywords and phrases you use, just like with the pay-per-clicks, the more sites you will have with which to advertise.

Now, if you are using your own personal Website, don't forget to make sure that you have some of these keywords and phrases in the content of your Website for better searches on search engines as well. You will also need to have some of the keywords in your meta tags.

In all these techniques, using more specific keywords and phrases will help drive specific traffic of target groups of people looking for what you have to offer them.

SFI: Choosing Your Products

Q: Is there anyone who has become Executive Affiliate (EA) through attracting non-affiliates to purchase items from the retail side of their SFI business. If so, could you give me some advice on how to do this?

A: Yes, I have done this. In this series of Marketing Tidbits, I'll be taking you through the step-by-step process of what I have done with my marketing in order to accomplish this. I will, in Part One of this series, explain why you need to choose your products and why I started with the products. This will then lead to the next part and so on through this series of Marketing Tidbits. If you already have a standing order for a subscription to The International Association of Home Business Entrepreneurs, then you are already at least an Executive Affiliate and you should by no means cancel your standing order.

Use this series to help you focus on making retail sales to non-affiliates of Strong Future International. By using these steps, you will be able to add to your commission's check each month on top of the T-Network Compensation Plan.

Here are the four product categories that I chose from the Veriuni Store:

Food
Wellness/Nutrition
Magazine Rack
Telecommunications

Out of those four categories, I then chose the products that I thought would be of interest to the consumer rather than myself.

Now you are probably wondering how and why I chose these products to sell to non-SFI affiliates. After working in the retail business for over 20 years, these are the things that I see others purchasing when they are shopping. Some items are their regularly purchased items and other items are impulse purchases. You will want to have a mixture of these items on your Website, that is, if you wish to build and dedicate a Website to products only. If you would prefer, you can do this with one category of the products as well.

I asked myself these questions while looking at the products in each category:

What would others be more apt to purchase online?
What would be the items that are purchased more often?
What items have I seen others buy while shopping in the offline stores? (Example of these stores: grocery, Wal-mart, Target, convenience store, etc.)
Would people buy these items online as well as offline?
Which of the products would be more apt to sell online than offline? (Example: Telecommunications - the long distance plans, Internet provider services, or cell phone and plans; which of the health and wellness products? Which of the magazines?)
Which group of people would be the best to target?
What are the latest trends for manufacturers? (This will take a little research as well. This will be covered in a future Marketing Tidbit).

After asking myself the above questions in each category, I then chose my products. The items I chose are as follows:

Food category: Java Coffee
Wellness/Nutrition:
Veriuni Advanced Oxidant with Red Wine Extract
Veriuni Advanced Liquid Nutrition
Veriuni Advanced Weight Loss*
Magazine Rack: All of the categories*
Telecommunications: Long Distance Phone Services*

*NOTE: In the next few series of Marketing Tidbits, I will go into further detail about how to choose and sell these items more effectively.

Now that I have explained how I have chosen the products that I have, I am going to give you a "homework assignment."

Items needed for this assignment:

Pen or pencil
Notebook

DEFINTIONS

Regular or staple purchases: Items that customers purchase each and every time they go to the store. These items can be anything from: soaps, both laundry and bath, dietary aids, cold aids, weight loss aids, milk bread, coffee, tea, sodas, cleaning products, etc.

Impulse purchases: Any of the items that you see at the checkout stands, items down the store's seasonal isles, seasonal products such as charcoal, bug spray, desserts of any kind, any flavored items for their drinks—basically items that are not necessary to run a household.

Between now and the time the next portion of this series is posted on May 17th, while you are out doing your regular shopping at any of the stores that you frequent, take a quick look into the shopping carts of other shoppers, scan what is in their carts very quickly, go around to the next isle, and make a note of some of the products that they have. Do the same thing for other shoppers that you see at the checkout stand.

By having a few notes on what you have seen others purchasing, either regularly or impulsively, you will then gain some insight into their shopping habits. Once you have this compiled, you will then be able to choose your own products more accurately.

The next step is to open a word processing document and type up your list from your homework assignment. You will then need to go to your Veriuni Store Gateway page, go through the categories listed there, and start choosing the products that closely fit your comprised list.

In that same document, you will then need to type out the name of the item, copy and paste the description of each corresponding product, and then place the link for that item below the item name and description. Once you are done, save and close the document.

This will be all that you need to do for now. You are more than welcome to reopen the document if you choose to do more research on customer purchases and add to your Veriuni list until the next Marketing Tidbit is ready so that you can start on the next step.

As an example, here is what I see customers purchasing:

Candies - single bars, bags of candy, gum.
Coffee - caffeine and non caffeine.
School Supplies - pens, paper, pencils, poster board, erasers.
Magazines - Women's Day, Better Homes and Gardens, O, car magazines.
Seasonal Items - the items that are for the holiday or current season. (Example: In spring and summer, seasonal items would include bug spray, sun screen, sun tan lotion, bar-b-que items)
Some impulse buys are: the candy bars, some magazines, calling cards, gift cards, greeting cards, pre-made kabobs, plants, mulch, etc.

The next Marketing Tidbit will cover the use of keywords in pay-per-click search engines and their use in Website content and classified ads (both paid and free).

Beware Of Internet Marketing Scams

My grandfather used to always warn me, "an empty wagon makes the most noise." By that he meant, people who make ostentatious claims about what they do, how much they make or who they are, are probably not true. Not only are their claims untrue, you shouldn't trust them either.

Which brings me to internet marketing scams. Please understand that many make money from home opportunities will not lead you on the path of financial glory. The people who yell the loudest usually haven't made a dime online. Just ask them the next time they post a status update on Facebook or Twitter. And when they don't respond, well you'll have your answer.

In the real world, no one walks around bragging about how much money they make. If they do, you probably don't want to be bothered with them because they are nerve wracking and they exhibit a high 'creep factor.'

I believe internet marketers who tell you how much they make are desperate for attention. Attention to a potential internet marketing scam that you don't want any part of.

Take the recent case of Perry Belcher.

Belcher was the 'guru' behind HealthyRightNow.com --- a health remedy scam.

Belcher violated and broke local, state and federal laws when one of his companies Selmedica claimed to make medical products that treated a "wide array of ailments." As well as "to have made every product it sells in a state of the art facility under the strict guidelines of the FDA."

Belcher was arrested and sentenced to a 10-year suspended sentence, had over $1 million in assets seized including his homes, and of course he forfeited his websites.

The lesson here is, research, read and learn before you sign up for an internet marketing opportunity. Many of them will cost you lots of money before you earn a single penny. Find out if you have to keep and maintain any type of 'autoship' of products in order to make money with a marketing company. If you do, and you don't maintain your autoship, you could lose out on any potential commissions.

Read as much as you can about the company. Simply Google the company name and see how many complaints come up. Add the word 'scam' to the end of the company name and you will be able to see if there are any ongoing or past investigations.

People like Perry Belcher depend on you not knowing. They depend on you believing their outrageous claims because someone you trust vouches for them. The person that vouches for them may be your Facebook or Twitter friend. But, be careful of the the over-the-top behavior they exhibit. They may just be leading you down a path of financial ruin.

Keep this in mind, successful business people are too busy making their business a success and don't have time to 'brag' about their past accomplishments. Truly successful business people don't mind sharing tips with you to help you become a success because they realize when other people say good things about you, that is worth more than any testimonial from a scammer. Beware of those people who want to charge you to add more friends on Facebook or more followers on Twitter. If you can't get those people on your own based upon who you are, then you probably don't need them anyway.

Things like that are fueled by greed and don't last very long.

Unlikely SFI Internet Marketing Coach

The past two nights I have been keeping late hours. No I haven’t been hanging out at the clubs. Instead I’ve been transformed. Transformed into an internet marketing consultant and coach.

Following Up With Prospective Affiliates You Would Sponsor

Here are our suggested guidelines for following up with those interested in joining SFI:

1. Keep it simple! Provide concise instructions. A confused mind will not act.

2. Always identify yourself as an SFI Marketing Group affiliate so they make the connection as to why you're contacting them. If you're going to be their personal Sponsor or Team Leader, let them know that, too.

3. Make it short, friendly, and personal. Use their name in your salutation if you can.

4. Offer to answer questions they might have about SFI and home business in general. You may also wish to include a short testimonial of how the system is working for you (if you've got a good, strong testimonial to offer, that is). Offer friendly guidance and support!

5. Do NOT make aggressive statements like, "If you want to make money with this you need to accumulate 1,500 VersaPoints now." This will only cause backlash and cause people to opt out of SFI. Our system clearly works, and one big reason is because we bring people through in steps, without undue pressure. We show them the BENEFITS of participating in SFI and let them decide. There's no need to twist anyone's arm.

What It Means To Be A Sponsor And A Mentor

Two More Ways To Make Money From Home

>When I first started making money online writing, I used to write erotica short stories (warning explicit content). Yes, I used to write porn stories, the same ones you see on adult websites. I had 3-4 adult publishers who were willing to pay me comfortably just to write 3-4 stories per day. At one point I was receiving upwards of $400 a day. That was my very first experience with making money online.

It was quick and easy and I didn't care how I made the money as long as I was making some. This was the first time I entertained the thought of creating my own website to make money.

Initially, I was going to create an adult website empire. I had a verbal agreement from my video partner and we were going to be a triple threat in the adult make money online business. But, we never executed our great plans of streaming live adult video, he moved to Nevada, and I started moving away from making money using porn.

I wanted to go legit.

Now, I am involved in a couple of home based business opportunities and a little CPA affiliate marketing to get the job done. I signed up with Adyss International and really need to dedicate some time to this product. They offer this health and weight loss program that is silently sweeping the country. I'll give you an update in a few months. It takes a few months of analytics and data to determine if a program to make money online is working. Also, I'll be able to tweak my marketing direction on a daily basis if I'm faithful in checking my reports.

Really, you can make money online using Facebook. I should know, I'm doing it right now, even as I write this document. If you utilize Facebook properly and professionally, you can make money with it. When done c correctly and strategically, you can make money online without spending any money by creating Fan Pages on Facebook.

First create a Fan Page on Facebook. Once you create a Fan Page focus on establishing an image by using brand strategy. Brand yourself as an expert, a consultant, and not a sales person. Whatever service you offer, consistently inform your fans with discussions and new notes.

When you have something new to share, let your fans know by posting a note or creating a topic for discussion. Become interactive on your Fan Page without compromising professionalism or individuality. If you find someone else has a Fan Page on a similar product, check them out. It doesn't hurt to peek at what the competition is doing. That way you can see what is working for them and maybe incorporate some of their techniques into the marketing of your Fan Page.

Fan Pages don't cost anything to create, that's why executing a flawless, informative page is crucial to your success. Not spending the time to create a professional page can mean the difference in developing a fan base and thus not making any money.

I've created a few Fan Pages recently as an experiment. I wanted to test a theory on whether you could really make money using Facebook. My findings are conclusive: if the appropriate marketing image is created and offers periodic beneficial information to fans, could that Fan Page become profitable?

Right now, my healthy energy drink Fan Page has 179 fans. They leave comments, and basically talk about how great the product is. Again, you want your fans to voluntarily say good things about your page. Don't be the comedian who laughs at his own jokes. Of those 179 fans, one of them has bought the free trial of the energy drink. Not bad, for not spending any money on advertising, and I don't even promote the page anywhere. Basically, this Fan Page is just sitting there gaining fans and making money.

Can you imagine if I actually started promoting it what would happen?

Now you can see the potential of making money using Fan Pages on Facebook. This may not be for everyone because there are some real heavy hitters in CPA marketing out there. However, if you are just getting started in CPA affiliate marketing and have decided on a niche and have a limited advertising budget, then creating a Fan Page on Facebook is an excellent no cost way to make money online.

Has The Internet Become The New Economy?

A couple of months ago, I was having a discussion with one of my brothers about the state of the economy. We both agreed that our economy/economic structure would be changed forever. The way most people rely upon making money was going to have to change, our economy has just suffered the equivalent of a hurricane. Rocking the foundation like Katrina did.
