Joey Needs Some Help!

Oh my gosh doggers, my little cousin Joey is really, really sick and the vets can't figure out what's wrong!

See over the past couple of months Joey went from being a real active, happy guy to where now all he does is sleep all day and his mom's, Joey has 2 moms, have to try everything to get him to get up and walk or even eat. And all you doggers out there know none of us would ever pass up food or playing unless we was really feelin bad!

Now my Auntie Fil thinks this is all cause of Joey's RABIES shot a couple of months ago cause he has all the symptoms of a guy bein made really sick from this shot. Ma and I didn't even know that the RABIES shot can and has even KILLED some puppers! WHAT'S UP WITH THAT!

And I don't get it, the chances of bein bit by anyone or anything with RABIES is SO REMOTE these days, WHY are they still insisting we have this shot if it's REALLY BAD for us!

So me and ma are sending out an appeal to everybody out there, that if you ever had this happen to your poor little pupper, please let us know what you did to get em better so we can let Auntie Fil know RIGHT AWAY!

In the mean time Auntie Fil is sending Joey to a HOLISTIC VET and getting him a DETOX to get all the nasty chemicals outta his body.

And me, well I'm wishin to DOG that Joey gets better cause this little fella is ONLY 5 and he's got lots of rompin ahead of him!

Polar Bears Make Me Sad...

Oh doggers, me n' ma were watchin tv the other day and they had this show on POLAR BEARS and how because of the HUMANS and GLOBAL WARMING, the polar bears were DYING of STARVATION and we're gonna LOOSE THEM ALL!

See the polar bears go out farther and farther on the ice floes to search for food and then they get STRANDED so far from shore that they DROWN trying to swim back and some of em even have BABIES WITH THEM THAT PERISH TOO!

It makes ma get all teary eyed just thinkin about it and I figured if ever a dog needed to get behind a cause and BARK ABOUT IT, well this is it!

So PLEASE check out the WWF site, read about how you can help and FOR BARKS SAKE, lets SAVE these MAGNIFICANT BEARS!

The Cali Fires

Oh my gosh doggers, I've been down in So Cal helpin out and I can't believe how tragic this situation is. Bein a Nor Cal boy these fires just break my heart.

The smoke, the wind, the heat, all the people and animals that have lost their homes, if a guy had time to stop and think about it he'd be really sad but we have to fight on and do the very best we can cause that's our job and folks are countin on us.

Everyone has to dig deep and know that they can rebuild their lives and this is when your friends, family and neighbors are more important to you than ever.

So for all you folks having to deal with this terrible devastation, know that your firefighters are working their hearts out for you and risking their lifes to try and keep some calm in yours.

We're all thinking about you folks down in So Cal and wish a safe return from the fire line to all the firefighters out there,

Woo hoo doggers ma's tattoo of me is lookin mighty fine! And even if her friend Kathy says it's gonna look like a basset hound in a few years, ma don't care cause she loves it! (ma's picture doesn't do it justice cause it's kinda blurry if you ask me)

And it's really cool cause the tat looks really awesome and every time ma looks at it she laughs and it makes her smile cause her boy's gonna be with her forever!

So I'm tellin all you doggers out there that if you save up your pennies maybe YOUR folks will get you tattooed!

Remembrance Day

Doggers this is a very special day and all of us need to take a minute and REMEMBER all those BRAVE men and women that fought and SACRIFICED THEIR LIVES so that we could live in a FREE WORLD.

REMEMBRANCE DAY was first observed on 11 November to recall the end of World War I on that date in 1918. Major hostilities of World War I were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918 with the German signing of the Armistice and today we stop to remember those who have fought in all the wars this world has seen.

So doggers, no matter where you are, at 11:00 take a moment to bow your head in REMEMBRANCE and hope for WORLD PEACE.

A New Pitty Girl to Love!

Oh gosh, you doggers have got to check out Trinity cause she is beautiful and pitty girls are the best!

Lots of my best dogger friends are pittys and my aunties have pittys and they are the kindest, funniest most gentle puppers you could ever have. So go to Trinity's blog and check out the pics of her and her human family and say hi while you're there.

All you jerky 'vick' types just pass on by and don't even bother stoppin cause we don't like your kind, you're banned!

I Rescued a Pupper!

Oh my GOSH doggers, you'll never WOOF what happened to me on my walk, I saw a pupper curled up in the bushes and me and ma rescued him!

At first I thought I was seein things but nope, it was a pupper who got scared from the fire works by his house and he tried to get away from the noise and he ran all the way over to by where I live and found a safe place to curl up out of the rain. He had a gash on his head and we found out later he may have some other hurts but I'm just glad the devil dog coyotes didn't find him.

Oh yeah, his name is Blue and he's an Aussie Shepard/Blue Heeler and he's a super nice guy and was really happy when ma crawled in behind the fence and got him out.

But here's the deal, his only tag was a rabies tag and at least it had the name and phone number for his vet on it so that's who ma called and then she took him over there, but no name tag or address, what's up with that? Anyway, in the mean time his ma called the vet and she was headed over to get Blue and take him home which was good cause ma can only have 1 pupper where we live and she didn't want Blue to not have a furever home.

So I hope Blue's gonna be OK, ma's gonna call the vet later to make sure and when we get a house if Blue wants to come stay with us he's more than welcome!

Leo's A Hero!

Hey puppers ya gotta check out the story about Leo who is a HERO DOG cause at the RISK of HIS OWN LIFE Leo SAVED some LITTLE KITTENS from a FIRE! And the firemen had to REVIVE Leo cause he stayed by those kittens with fire and smoke all around them.

Now I know some of you doggers think this DOG N CAT thing can get a LITTLE WEIRD but just like HUMANS CAN LIKE all SORTS of DIFFERENT HUMANS, us puppers can like ALL SORTS OF CRITTERS!

So check out Leo's story on MSNBC and ya never know, that cat next door just might become a GOOD BUDDY!

Ma's Gettin Me Inked!

Woo Hoo doggers, my ma's gettin me inked on her arm next week! This is somethin she's been wantin to do for ever and she figures now is the perfect time.

Now I'm not 100% sure exactly what 'gettin inked' means and I don't think it will hurt me at all but ma says for her a little pain to have my furry likeness forever is a cake walk. I think this will be pretty darn cool and if ma ever gets lost she'll have the tattoo and folks will be able to figure out what pupper owns her and bring her home!

So ma will be goin to see Shannon at Foxfire Tattoos and Shannon is really an incredible artist so I know my picture will be awesome. I can't wait to get the finished work posted on my blog next weekend so be sure to come and check it out!

Doggers, Ya Gotta Check Out Lil Smokey!

Oh my gosh doggers here's an incredible story from down in California not too far from where me an ma used to live and it's about a little baby bear that got saved by a firefighter!

See Lil Smokey got separated from his mom in a wildfire and his paws got burned really bad and his eye got hurt but he's on the mend!

Lil Smokey has his own blog too where you can keep track of his rehab and he's even got a webcam and you can see it at Lil Smokey's Rehab Blog.

And I gotta RUFF that after seein what this little guy went through with the fire and loosin his ma, havin my dew claw removed and bein stressed out don't seem like such a big deal.

OK, OK.....I'm Still Here In All My Furry Glory.....

Well doggers I am so sorry if any of you figured I went to the knackers but things seem to be OK, well pretty OK.

Turns out that my 'issues' are stress related and due to my loud, jerk neighbors who apparently do not know how to get a clue. So I'm takin the dogger relaxers and gettin my dosage upped a bit cause they don't seem to be doin much, plus NOW the doc thinks my rocket butt poops are stress related to, sheesh.

So ma had to buy some special kibble from the doc today to help with that 'poop' situation cause the other day I had a really upset tummy and ma came home to kind of a mess. Now if I had my own key I coulda let myself out but with no thumbs that would be kinda hard to do anyway.....besides, the floor needed a moppin, the carpets can always use a cleaning and I figure the couch slip cover needed to be tossed in the wash.

So ma's tanked the price on the condo again and hopefully soon we can move outta here. But in the mean time I keep tryin the meds and I think either a dog walker or doggy day care may be in my future.

Oh Doggers....What A Weekend...

Well lets see....it all started about 4 months ago when ma noticed I was loosing weight, but whenever she asked people of they thought I was gettin skinny everyone just kept sayin how good I looked.

See, the thing is, I've dropped 8 lbs in the last 4 months and I'm not on a diet or nutin. I'm eatin the same food, gettin lots of treats and goodies but I just keep gettin skinner an skinner, I'm down to 67lbs and that's way to light for a labby!

So yesterday me an ma had to go to the vet cause I sorts ripped off one of my dew claws and Dr. Mo had to take it off all the way, man that hurt.....anyway, Dr. Mo was pretty concerned about my weight loss so they did blood tests, x-rays and all sorts of stuff but everything came back ok. There may be a chance that this is stress related cause I'm havin a hard time in my new digs cause the sub-humans that live upstairs are really noisy jerks and when I get stressed I pant all day till ma gets home, not good for a fella.

The plan now is to try some dogger relaxers to take off the edge and see if that helps plus ma is going to drop off a poo sample to make sure it's not some sneak bug even though I don't eat nasty stuff. And ma is going to switch me back to food with higher fat and more protein to see if she can fatten me up a bit.

Ma's feelin pretty concerned but I think everything will be OK and once we sell this damn condo and get us a little house we can have our peaceful lives back.

Anyway doggers, that's the skinny so to bark.

Here's some info on why us doggers BARK....

Dog barking is a normal part of dog behavior, but if your dog’s talkative nature is creating problems, it’s important to first determine why your dog is barking. Dogs tend to bark for the following reasons:

To seek attention - Well MAYBE...
Separation anxiety - Not this boy.
Territorial/protective behavior - Yeah dude, I DARE you to come in my yard!
As an alert or warning - Ma, truders, grab yer gun!
When they are frustrated - Pupper, get some therapy....
When they are feeling playful or overly excited - Well of course
When they feel bored, isolated or lonely - That's what sleepin is for!
When they are startled or afraid - Why I otta....
As a way to identify and distinguish themselves from other dogs - My good looks and charm do that thank you very much.

And I don't know about you all out there but this isn't ROCKET SCIENCE fer DOGS SAKE. Anyway, there is is...now we just need an article on why HUMANS TALK!

Oh doggers, I am so sorry to think that you all BARKED that ma was STOPPIN my blog!

See ma's been thinkin about selling our web site Urban Pets but ma would NEVER stop my blog (I have good lawyers...Muttley, Muttly & McGruff). But I gotta BARK OUT to EVERYONE that PAWED and said DON'T GO! And I mean really, if any of you ladies out there want to SHOW YOUR APPRECIATION for me bein here, WELL GOSH, I go for a walk every day around 7am and 6pm....if ya know what I mean...

Anyway doggers, both ma and I think the blog is just TOO IMPORTANT and TOO DARNED MUCH FUN to ever stop and even though ma kinda SLACKS on posting, we plan on bein here for a long time!

So keep RUNNIN BY and I'll make sure ma keeps visiting everydog's blog and we'll all keep RUFFIN and BARKIN OUT TO THE WORLD!

So apparently I have no say in the matter and ma hs pretty much made the decision to SELL MY WEB SITE Urban Pets! I mean really, I'm the majority share holder and yet I get no say in the matter, I feel like I'm workin for Lehman Bros for DOG'S SAKE!

Ma says it's because she went and got a 'REAL JOB' and just doesn't have 'THE TIME' to devote to the web site which is URBAN PETS by the way....

So I'm asking, NO I'm BARKIN to all you PUPPERS out there, that if you see me on the corner with a sign that says 'WILL WORK FOR KIBBLE', have a heart and GIVE A DOG A BONE will ya. Anyway, I'll keep you posted on this situation, it's not right, it's just not right...

By the way, my site URBAN PETS has some pretty COOL STUFF so maybe, just maybe if ya dropped by I can SAVE MY JOB...

There were TWO OF EM, a gray one AND a black one, HANGIN OUT, TALKIN SMACK and I TOOK OFF like a ROCKET and man, that gray squirrel was almost a NEW HAT if ya know what I mean.

I can't wait to get out there tomorrow and maybe if I get an ACORN COSTUME those DUMB SQUIRRELS will run right up to me and then WHAMOO! SQUIRREL STEW!

Oh my gosh doggers I am sooo HAPPY TO BARK OUT that the humans are SAVING THE ANIMALS from the HURRICANES!

When that nasty old Katrina hit SO MANY PETS LOST THEIR LIVES cause they got LEFT BEHIND but now the humans GOT IT TOGETHER and REALIZE how DOG DAMN IMPORTANT THIS RESCUE MISSION IS!

So first I wanna BARK OUT a HUGE THANK YOU to all the RESCUERS and SHELTERS and for all you pets out there being moved cause of the STORMS and don't be SAD or SCARED cause you'll be BACK HOME SOON with your FAMILY!

SHAME ON YOU you NASTY OLD MAN.....and to think that you where a DOCTOR ONCE!

Doggers, ya gotta read this story and everyone be THANKFUL that this LIAR has BEEN CHARGED with FELONY AGGRAVATED CRUELTY TO ANIMALS. This HORRIBLE MAN said he tried 'to kill all the puppies because he feared they would contract parvovirus'. You DOG DAMN LIAR, SHAME ON YOU!

And very tragically 10 of the 12 puppies DID NOT SURVIVE but an INCREDIBLE, WONDERFUL, NICE woman named JENN was able to RESCUE 2 of the LITTLE, and dogger's I mean LITTLE ONES who she's named TUCKER and RALLY. And these little guys are SO SMALL that she has to bottle feed em and act just like their ma!

So everybody do a PAWS UP for JENN and feel free to send LOTS and LOTS OF GROWLS the so called doctor's way. And you can read the whole story on the Daily InterLake site.

Way Off Topic But Ma Insists...

So ma read some VERY SAD NEWS today about a gal named Del Martin who was a Lesbian activist and a HUGE influence in San Francisco where we used to live. Del and her partner Phyliss took risks and made a stand in DANGEROUS TIMES so that dykes today can live LIVE & LOVE.

See, on Wednesday just two months after marrying her partner of 55 YEARS in one of the first LEGALLY RECOGNIZED California same-sex weddings, Del passed away.

Del is survived by her partner Phyliss and me and ma can't even begin to imagine how sad Phyliss is so we're sendin her all our good thoughts and wishin Del DOG SPEED.

We thank you for all that you have done, you will be sorely missed by many.

The Games Are Over!

Hey doggers, the games are over and I'm back from Bay-Jing and I had a BLAST! Plus the most awesomist thing is that I WON THREE MEDALS in my events!

I got a SILVER in the 100 metre STICK TOSS, a GOLD in the 100 metre SQUIRREL CHASE and a GOLD in the 4 x 100 DOG PADDLE. When I was there I met all sorts of incredible DOG ATHLETES and we TRADED DOG TAGS and shared our BISCUITS cause everyone had all sorts of different kinds!

So now I'm gonna take a break and then start training for the winter games here in BC and hopefully the people from Wheaties will call so that they can put my picture on the box...oh, maybe the folks from Mother Hubbard should call instead.....

'Greatest American Dog' or 'Abuse YOUR Dog for a Chance to Win'...

OK doggers, this has got my FUR UP and I CAN'T BELIEVE how STUPID some humans are! See, they made this TV show called Greatest American Dog and if the dogs on the show do really well in the STUPID CHALLENGES, they get VOTES and their humans can MAYBE win $250,000.

Things went pretty bad for a Border Collie named Leroy when his Ma was tryin to get him to SAY, yes SAY, the word ANGRY. But all that happened was that Leroy's Ma got REALLY ANGRY and started to SPRAY Leroy IN THE FACE with LEMON JUICE and then SHOVE a DRYER HOSE in his MOUTH! Then cause Leroy was SO SCARED that he nipped his ma to try and make her stop, she called him a BASTARD and that she 'EXPECTED MORE FROM HIM'.

Well GUESS WHAT YOU COW, he's DOG and he's tryin his BEST to do ALL YOUR DAMN STUPID TRICKS so BACK OFF!

My Kobe Was Sad When MA Left....

So Ma was tellin me that my BEAUTIFUL KOBE was really SAD when Ma was getting ready to leave California and I had no idea HOW SAD until I saw the pictures!

I mean, oh my gosh doggers, if Ma coulda fit her in her bag she would have brought KOBE home to ME! And then we could have PLAYED and PLAYED FOREVER! Plus we could snuggle up at night together and keep each other company while Ma's at work.

So I hope KOBE isn't feelin so SAD now and I think I'll send her all my DOGGER LOVE and KISSES plus maybe DRIVE to Cali next summer for a visit!
