XBox One vs Playstation 4

PlayStation 4; a year in which the PS4 has surged ahead on sales, but the Xbox One has seen a turnaround in the way it’s seen and, potentially, its fortunes. No other console generation has seen two rivals so similar in terms of hardware, specifications, software and services, making it surprisingly hard to choose between them. The PS4 is generally seen as the hardcore gamer’s choice. Its hardware is slightly more powerful than the Xbox One, and Sony was smarter in focussing the PS4’s software and interface on games rather than some vision of the console as an entertainment hub. That was Microsoft’s mistake at launch, where the Xbox One seemed too much focused on TV, movies and voice-controlled entertainment, and too little focused on playing games. Where Sony pushed to make its console more affordable, Microsoft saddled it with a pricey motion control peripheral that nobody really wanted – the second-generation Kinect.

Right now, the situation’s different. Kinect is now an option rather than the default, and the Xbox One has dropped in price - in the US Microsoft has announced a $50 price cut, with no word on whether that price drop will also come to the UK. However, already selling for just £299 at Amazon without Kinect, the Xbox One is far more affordable than it was at launch. The app has a collection of more than 50K+ quotes in various categories, ranging from inspirational, motivational to funny and witty quotes which can be used as the status for your social profile.

Lets build v1

Hope you all had a fun time building your first web application hosted on Google's cloud platform aka Google App Engine [GAE].

Here's a summary of what we did today. The cloud computing slides which I showed you all can viewed on this link:

Step 1:
Install Python version 2.7.

Step 2:
Install GAE SDK for python.

Step 3:
Go to GAE site. Login with your google credentials and go to Admin Console on the left hand side.
Next, create new application by choosing an available Application Identifier.

Step 4:
Run GAE launcher and do the following configurations.
Edit > Preferences > Python Path

You may optionally set the path of the editor as well.

Step 4:
Once everything is configured you can create a new application by going to
File > Create New Application

Make sure you put the "Application Identifier" you gave to your web app earlier in the "Application Name" field over here.

Now run your application and see it running on localhost:8080 or locolhost: in any browser.
Voila!! and you have your first web app running.

Now the next phase was to understand and modify the web app.

There are basically three parts to your app and all of them reside in the parent directory which you had selected earlier while creating your app in the launcher.
1: Main.py [Logic Part]
2: Templates Directory [All your .html files go here]
3: app.yaml [the configuration file which we will rarely touch]

The main.py files had few lines already written in in. We discussed what they mean. Basically the last line:
app = webapp2.WSGIApplication([('/', MainHandler),('/aboutme', AboutMe)], debug=True)
meant : We paired the "Path" and the corresponding "Class" in round brackets aka Tuples eg. ('/', MainHandler), so whenever one try to access those links the corresponding class handles the stuff for you.

We discussed the common HTTP headers "GET" and "POST" etc. and how the code handled them.

Increase data card speeds

For tata photon, mts, airtel, aircel, reliance, etc. data card users and mobile internet like airtel, aircel, idea, bsnl users here's a trick which you can use to increase your speed.

The steps may seem bit complex but its very efficient. And in fact its easy if you follow the steps carefully.

Problem:
By default Microsoft Windows reserves 20 percent of the bandwidth of a connection for all programs running on the system. But the good new is that you can use the following steps to override the default.

Prerequisite: Your Operating System should either be Windows profressional or Ultimate Version. This tweak is disabled for Home edition users.

Here it goes :
Step 1: Go to Run dialogue box by pressing “windows + R”
Step 2:Type “gpedit.msc” without quotes.
Now a new window will pop up saying “Local Group Policy Editor”.
Step 3:Now go to the following area in the “Local Group Policy Editor” window.
Local Computer Policy > Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Network > QoS Packet Scheduler
Step 4:Double click on the link which says : Limit reservable bandwidth
Step 5:Now just edit the settings in the new window which pops up:
Click on enabled.
Now in the box which says Bandwidth limit (%): Change the value to 0
Now just Apply the settings and exit.
And voila !!!

Mblaze on Windows 8

Hi many of you might be getting problems on running mts data card aka mblaze on windows 8.
I had it when i installed windows 8 and saw some threads on forums with this question.
You might be getting errors like: "failed to install modem"
So here is a simple solution:

Just follow the step to use in windows 8.

1. Unplug your device.
2. Uninstall previous installations.
3. Plug your device again and browse to the folder containing setup.
4. Right Click > Compatibility > Compatibility mode.
5. Check the box ” Run this program in compatibility mode for: ”
6. Select “windows 7″ in the dropdown.
7. Apply > ok.
8. Install the software as usual.

Voila, your mblaze will definitely work.
