Wow. According to Feedburner I have 33 followers (well, at least 1 of them is me). I can't imagine why people would want to follow this blog, as I never update it.

Looking back at the most recent posts (from months ago), I realize that I should never announce future projects, since I haven't done any of them.

Since leaving Allergy Be Gone in February, I've had several different projects on the back burner. One of them is this blog. Eventually it will probably come back and get its wish to be a real blog. Either that or it will continue to be a test blog, just for my own endeavors.

I thought I should post, since I made several changes since my last post. Also, it seems that I have subscribers. How that happened I have now idea.

Anyway, I added a new nav bar, changed the logo (though I don't think that'll be the final design), implemented the peek-a-boo Blogger Bar, and actually added some subscription links. How were people subscribing before?

I'd love to hear from all my readers and subscribers. What would you like to see in the way of design? What about topics (when I finally get down to writing some)? Or even if you'd just like to0 say hi, I'd appreciate it.

Update: Blockquotes work like a charm. I styled them like my update box and, after some playing, got it to work. The Peek-a-boo navbar hack, however, doesn't work for me :(

With only a few hours to go until the new year starts, I'm ramping up development of tinab as a real blog. It's changed a lot in the past few days, with the focus moving away from testing other blogs to development of my blogging, html, and css skills.

When the smoke clears, this blog will probably be a chronicle of my journey as a blogger. I'm also collaborating on a new blog, which should be unveiled sometime early next year.

Posting to test Adsense in feeds.

Also, the widgets on the side are (mostly) all ABG blog widgets. I'm working on moving them over to that blog. When I do, I'll set up ones for this blog and make it look pretty again. Eventually (soon?) I'm going to do a whole site redesign.

Since I'm pretty happy with the design of the Allergy Be Gone blog, I'm going to work on setting this up as a real blog with actual content. Yes, content.

I'll still be testing cool widgets and ideas, no doubt, but more of them will be incorporated neatly into this blog (as opposed to the hodge podge mess I've made).

New header looks good (I'll knock those white borders out ogf the code later). After searching the internet to no avail, it turned out all I had to do to get the image to stretch across the whole header was just create a big image and decline Bloggers offer of "shrink to fit". I even played around with the RSS image to give it a cool look.

Now I really see the value of setting a really small area for your header. It doesn't actually limit your bg image size, but gives you more room to add widgets. I like my search and RSS widgets (custome coded, actually), but I'm sure there are a few more things that could (or should) go up there.

I also had a few problems and lost the template that was here before. I backed it up, but Blogger didn't like it when I tried to restore. So I'm going to have to add things back when I find them again.

I'm becoming more comfortable with some things (like sizing parts of the page; that's easy) but I still have a way to go before I can do most things without a reference.

I created a nice headline image, but Blogger won't display it for some reason. And after I changed back to the Minima template, it changed my nice new subscription image as well. Weird.

Update: Had to clear the old template in the HTML editor, apparently some stray HTML was still clogging up the works. The new subscribe button was a different issue - the image was slightly too big! So I shrunk it down a few pixels and it looks fine.

Okay, so captions was a colossal fail. I couldn't get them to look right, so I had to scrap the whole thing. I had similar trouble with dropcaps and pullquotes. However, you'll notice that I have the last two on my blog now. That's because I changed to a template that had them built in. I don't know why I couldn't get them to work before.

I think that's probably enough of my day wasted on this. Many product-related things to get to.

In the upper atmosphere "good ozone" acts as a filter that keeps harmful UV rays from reaching us. Ground-level ozone ("bad ozone") is formed when heat and sunlight create a chemical reaction with air pollution. While many people refer to atmospheric ozone and ground ozone differently, they are exactly the same. They just affect people differently depending on where they are.

I've had no internet at home since May 28th. It was interesting to go without it for a while - kind of brought me back to the days of dial-up, before being online was a constant thing I could take for granted. I finally fixed the problem yesterday.

It was nice to not have the temptation to surf constantly. However, I find that things pile up a bit. Little things that I just can't do at work, like reading webcomics. I've been relying on web apps to bridge the gap between work and home. With my home internet out I suddenly lost that connection.

You don't quite realize the ways in which you use something until it's gone.

Posting to test out a couple of things. First, I changed the blog's color scheme, because having a background and dark colors (as much as I liked them), didn't really show me accurately what I could do on the Allergy Be Gone blog.

I also want to test out Blogger's new scheduling feature, just rolled out. So I'm setting this post to go out sometime after I leave today.

Update:
Saw this style of updating posts on Google Blogoscoped and decided I liked it. It really makes updates stand out from the original post. Great for a news blog (which this isn't, of course), but it might have good applications on any blog that focuses on information.

Who Am I?

My name is Joseph Zygnerski. I'm a native New Yorker. I've been writing since I was about 10 years old, when a school assignment made me realize that I wanted to write for a living. While I haven't become a novelist (yet), I've managed to find a way to make a living from writing.

What do I do?

I currently work as a copywriter and blogger for an e-commerce company in Brooklyn. My first blog was the Allergy Be Gone blog, which I started for that company. This blog began as a test blog and a way to learn more about blogging and is growing into a blog about my blogging experiences.
