Execute scripts on Edge Browser

In this post we will see how to execute webdriver scripts in EDGE Browser.

For other browsers like google chrome and firefox we need to download corresponding exe files and need to set system path.

If you are using latest version of edge i.e 18+ then the set up is little bit different.

Check Edge Version :
Launch edge browser
Right hand top corner you see 3 dots.
Click on 3 dots and click on Settings
At the end you can see browser information. Mine is Microsift Edge HTML 18.1863

Download exe file:
Edge browser exe files are available in below path
https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/tools/webdriver/#downloads

If your edge version is less than 18 then straight away download corresponding exe file and in your webdriver script need to set the system property like below.

If your edge version is 18 then need to perform belwo steps.

Below command should be executed in an elevated command prompt.

DISM.exe /Online /Add-Capability /CapabilityName:Microsoft.WebDriver~~~~0.0.1.0

Elevated command prompt is nothing but need to launch your command prompt as admin.

Once you execute the command it will download MicrosoftWebDriver.exe file under C:\Windows\System32 folder.

Thats it...you can execute your scripts in Edge browser. no need to set up any path.

Automatic download and management of Selenium WebDriver binaries (Driver.exe files)

In this post we will see how to avoid downloading driver.exe file and setpath for browser binary.

As you guys already know in order to use chrome, firefox or edge browsers, first we need to download a binary file (driver.exe) and need to set path which allows Webdriver to handle browsers.

Below is example how to set path:

By adding a small dependency in your POM.xml (Assuming you are using maven project) we can avoid downloading binary files and set path. In addition, we have to check manually when new versions of the binaries are released. WebDriverManager will do this job for us automatically

How it works:

WebDriver Manager actually gets your browser version and download the compatible browser binary by itself to make you run your code without interruption.

So now, rather than setting the browser binaries, you just need to add below line of code and you’re done

The line WebDriverManager.chromedriver().setup(); WebDriverManager does magic for you:

It checks for the latest version of the WebDriver binary.
It downloads the WebDriver binary if it’s not present on your system.
It exports the required WebDriver Java environment variables needed by Selenium

By default downloaded binary files (driver.exe) files will be stored in .m2 folder. By using below commands you can get the downloaded version and path of binary file.

Git is a version control system (VCS) for tracking changes in computer files and coordinating work on those files among multiple people. It is primarily used for software development,but it can be used to keep track of changes in any files. As a distributed revision control system it is aimed at speed,data integrity and support for distributed, non-linear workflows

Steps to Install Git:

Download Latest Git installer Git For Windows.

While installing Git make sure you check 2 check boxes. GIT Bash and GIT GUI.

When you've successfully started the installer, you should see the Git Setup wizard screen. Follow the Next and Finish prompts to complete the installation.

While installing keep default options that will be ok for most of the users.

Once the installation is done if you search for git you will see Git Bash and GitGUI.

GitBash:

Git for Windows provides a BASH emulation used to run Git from the command line. *NIX users should feel right at home, as the BASH emulation behaves just like the "git" command in LINUX and UNIX environments.

GitGUI:

Git for Windows also provides the Git GUI, a powerful alternative to Git BASH, offering a graphical version of just about every Git command line function, as well as comprehensive visual diff tools.

Shell Integration:

Simply right-click on a folder in Windows Explorer to access the BASH or GUI.

Here is one example to switchToChildWindow()
This method is useful to switch to new window/tab/popup if you have only 2 windows/tabs/popup then you can use below customized function.

In the below example i wrote different functions

isElepresent(By locator) -- Verify if the element is present or not
selectByText(By locator, String visibleText) select a value from dropdown
switchToChildWindow() ---Switch to child window. If there are only two windows.
switchToWindowByTitle(String title) ---Switch to child window. Use this if title of the pages are unique.
switchToFrame(WebElement locator) --switch to frame by locating the frame.

Scenario: which has all multiple windows/tabs/popups/alerts/frames etc...

Open http://www.hdfcbank.com/
Close the Ad window if that is visible
Click on Agri Link --which will open new window/tab
Select "Telugu" from dropdown
Handle the alert
Select "English" from dropdown
Click on Account Details --which will open new window/tab
In the new window, enter customer ID --"test" (Actually this text box is in frame)
Click on Privacy Policy link (Actually this link is in another frame) --which opens new window/tab/popup

Handling OnChange events using Selenium webdriver and Java script

In this post I will discuss about onchange events.

What is onchange event?
The onchange event occurs when the value of an element has been changed.
For radiobuttons and checkboxes, the onchange event occurs when the checked state has been changed.

onChange specifies script code to run when the data in the input field changes. The onChange event is triggered when the contents of the field changes.

In this example if you type some thing in Quantity filed and click on anywhere on the page it will automatically update Total.

We can handle onchange events in different ways.

1. After entering quantity we can simulate clicking TAB button. But this is approach will not work always.

2. By using Java script we can trigger onchange event.

Here i am going to discuss about advanced usage of xpaths..
I will provide examples how to use xpath Axes.

Descendants

A node's children, children's children, etc.

In the following example; descendants of the form element are the div, title, author, year, and price elements

<form>

Here is Example:

If you want to find descendants of Div tag you need to use below syntax

//div[@id='browse-category']/descendant::*

If you want a specific element from descendants then use below syntax

Here i want to identify Payment link using descendant.

//div[@id='browse-category']/descendant::a[@data-category='Payment']

In the above example descendant will search for child elements and child's child elements as well.

UL is the child element for DIV and LI is the child element for UL and A is child element for LI. As we used descendant it will check for the matching element.

Following:
Selects everything in the document after the closing tag of the current node.

selects all elements after closing tag of P

//p[@class='fk-font-14']/following::*

if you want a specific element using following below is the example

//p[@class='fk-font-14']/following::div[@id='fk-mainfooter-id']

Following-sibling:
Selects all siblings after the current node.
//div[@id='browse-category']/ul/li/following-sibling::*

if you want a specific element then

//form[@class='faqsearchform']/following-sibling::div

Preceding :
Selects all nodes that appear before the current node in the document, except ancestors, attribute nodes and namespace nodes

preceding-sibling
Selects all siblings before the current node

Here is the example:

Now Lets see a real time example how to use the above mentioned xpath Axes:

Below is scenario:

Navigate to flipkart
add two products to cart
I want to remove one product based on its name.

Simple xpath without using product name --- //a[@class='cart-remove-item fk-inline-block fk-uppercase'] but it always identifies first Remove button.

First Step: I will identify xpath for product Name

//span[text()='HP 15-af114AU Notebook(AMD Quad Core A8/ 4GB/...']

From there onward using xpath Axes i need to identify Remove link.

By loooking at DOM we can understand that there are two TR tags

in one TR --we have product details and in another TR we have remove link.

so i have to traverse to second TR.

Second Step: Inorder to do that i need to traverse to parent element of span

//span[text()='HP 15-af114AU Notebook(AMD Quad Core A8/ 4GB/...']/ancestor::tr[1]

Third Step: from there traverse to sibling of TR

//span[text()='HP 15-af114AU Notebook(AMD Quad Core A8/ 4GB/...']/ancestor::tr[1]/following-sibling::tr

Fourth Step: From there traverse to tag A which has link text of Remove..here is the final xpath

//span[text()='HP 15-af114AU Notebook(AMD Quad Core A8/ 4GB/...']/ancestor::tr[1]/following-sibling::tr

/descendant::a[text()='Remove']

Run selenium tests in Chrome and IE browser

How to run the selenium test scripts in Chrome/IE browser ?

To run the selenium test cases in Chrome/IE browser is necessary and need of today's web world as Chrome being the one of the best and most widely used web browser.

Selenium by default supports only Mozilla Firefox .

To run your tests in Chrome browser please do the following set-up.

1. Download chrome browser related jar file from here.

2. Set the System configuration by adding the following code.

System.setProperty("webdriver.chrome.driver", "Path to chrome related jar file downloaded in step 1");
WebDriver driver = new ChromeDriver();

To run the test in Internet explorer.

1. Download IE browser related jar file from here.

2. Set the System configuration by adding the following code.

System.setProperty("webdriver.ie.driver", "C:\\Users\\ajain5\\Downloads\\IEDriverServer.exe");

Handling Basic Authentication Using Webdriver

Here is post which explains you how to handle basic authentication.

Problem:

Some of the applications that are secured with Basic Authentication. If you want to access those applications first you need to pass credentials. Those applications will launch a system level pop-up which cant not be handled by selenium.

IF you access below url it will ask for authentication.

Solution:

By specifying userName and password in URL when accessing the page we can avoid system level dialog. This approach will work for HTTP and HTTPS pages.

In this post i am going to explain how to integrate with continuous integration tool Jenkins..

Prerequisites:
Here i am trying to run Maven project scripts so

Maven Project with TestNG (you can go through this post create-sample-maven-project.html)
and few webdriver scripts

Download Jenkins:

1. Navigate ti http://jenkins-ci.org/

2. Download .war file

3. Save the jenkins.war file in any of the location, you need to run this Jenkins.war file.

Set Up Jenkins:

1. Navigate to folder where you kept your jenkis.war

2. type command java -jar jenkins.war and press Enter

3. Will take some time to extract Jenkins, then you will get a success message.

4. By default Jenkins will start in port number 8080

5. For Jenkins UI use this URL in browser http://localhost:8080/

Configure Jenkins:

Before creating any Jenkins job we need to perform some configuration steps.

1. Click on Manage Jenkins link on the left side of the page

2. Click on Configure System.

3. Navigate to JDK section and Click on Add JDK button

4. Uncheck Install automatically check box so Jenkins will only take java which we have mention above

5. Give the name as JAVA_HOME and Specify the JDK path

6. Add Maven. IF you already not downloaded maven, get it from here Download Maven

6. Click on Save button.

Create Jenkins Job:

1. Click on create new Jobs.

2. Enter Job description and select Maven Project

3. Go to Build section and Enter path of POM.xml in ROOT POM text box.

4. Click apply and Save,

Run Job:

Navigate to Home page of Jenkins, there you can see new Job is created. Click on Build now symbol

Maven will build the project. It will then have TestNG execute the test cases

Once the build process is completed, in Jenkins Dashboard click on the Job1 project

Log file is just simple file, which keep track of the record or event or info when any event happens or any software run. This whole process known as logging. We can create log file as simple log file.

Why Log file is required:

We can create log file for our simple script also so we can track or debug our script easily if anything goes wrong in script. For example, if our script is failing at some point then we can track back what went wrong

What is log4J
Log4j is free open source tool for creating log files It help us to generate log file.

Log4j is very lightweight and simple logging framework, comprising of three main components
Loggers
Appenders
Layouts

Download Log4J jar file.

1. Navigate to http://mvnrepository.com/
2. Search for Log4J
3. Download latest version of log4J

Create a sample Java project and add log4J. jar file to project.

Create a properties file

Right click on Project --New --File

give a name log4j.properties.

and add below code in that file

Create a Class file with below log levels:

Returns:: Whether or not the element is displayed; Method used to verify presence of a web element within the webpage. The method is designed to result a Boolean value with each success and failure. The method returns a “true” value if the specified web element is present on the web page and a “false” value if the web element is not present on the web page.

Is the element currently enabled or not? This will generally return true for everything but disabled input elements.

Features of Grid Extras:

Steps to Install / Configure Selenium Grid Extras:

Download Grid Extras Jar file from Here : Download Selenium-Grid-Extras

Selenium Grid Extras is a project that helps you set up and manage your local Selenium Grid. Typical instances of the Grid consists of the HUB and Nodes. The HUB is responsible for managing test sessions and assigning new session idle nodes.

Setup of Grid Extras is made to be simple, just run the packaged JAR file and point the node at the HUB location, Grid Extras will take care of the rest for you.

Hub SetUp:

1. After downloading selenium grid extras jar file, open command prompt and navigate to folder where grid extras jar file is available.

2. Type in command java -jar

I renamed selenium grid extras jar file to SeleniumGridExtras.jar.

After starting seleniumgridextras it will prompt several questions.

What is the default Role of this computer? (1 - node | 2 - hub | 3 - hub & node)

Default Value: 1

if you want to use your machine as Hub..then you need to type 2, if you want to use your machine as hub and node then type 3.

In this case i am using it as hub so i type in 2.

What is the HOST for the Selenium Grid Hub?

Default Value: 127.0.0.1

In my case it is default value so i just click Enter

What is the PORT for the Selenium Grid Hub?

Default Value: 4444

Press Enter port will be set to 4444

What is node Platform? (WINDOWS|XP|VISTA|WIN8|WIN8_1|MAC|LINUX|UNIX|ANDROID)

Default Value: VISTA

I left it as default

Would you like WebDriver, IEDriver and ChromeDriver to auto update (1-yes/0-no)

Default Value: 1

Press Enter --it will automatically updte your webdriver,IE and chrome drivers

Once you set all options your command prompt should look like this

Verify Grid Console and Grid Extras

type in the IP address which is shown in command prompt and output looks like this

It shows you RAM and OS details

Now open grid console --- http://localhost:4444/grid/console

Grid Node Set Up:

Go to another machine and start seleniumgridExtras.jar

It will prompt several questions:

type 1 ..bcs we want to use this as node

Yes I want to run IE so i type in 1

Similarly it will prompt questions for Chrome, Safari based on your requirement you have to choose option.

Would you like this Node to auto update browser versions? (1-yes/0-no)

Default Value: 1

press 1 if you want to auto update browser versions.

Should this Node record test runs? (1-yes/0-no)

Default Value: 1

Press Enter

Once you set all the options it will start Grid Extras..

it should look like this....

Now you are all set to run your scripts on grid extras.

Again come back to HUB and navigate to http://localhost:4444/grid/console

it should look like this

Now i can run scripts in FF,IE and Chrome.

The rest is same..you have to run your webdriver script.

Below is the sample script.

Once the execution is done...Open HUB URL http://1xx.xx.xx.xx:3000/ or in HUB machine open url

http://localhost:3000/

It should look like this...

You can see videos in seleniumgrid extras folder...where you seleniumgridextras jar file is available. One folder will be created with name "video_output" in that folder you can see video files.

Selenium Grid by using VisGrid

In this I will explain you what is selenium grid and how to setup this grid in simple way...

Selenium Grid:
Selenium-Grid allows you run your tests on different machines against different browsers in parallel. That is, running multiple tests at the same time against different machines running different browsers and operating systems. Essentially, Selenium-Grid support distributed test execution. It allows for running your tests in a distributed test execution environment

When to Use It:

Generally speaking, there’s two reasons why you might want to use Selenium-Grid.

To run your tests against multiple browsers, multiple versions of browser, and browsers running on different operating systems.
To reduce the time it takes for the test suite to complete a test pass.

Steps to Download VisGrid:

Navigate to http://www.codoid.com/products/view/2/30

Scroll down to bottom of page and Enter email id and click download.

You can see Release notes here -- http://www.codoid.com/products/downloadNotes/30

After downloading, unzip VisGrid.zip

Double click on Visgrid-1.8.jar

Click Start Hub Button

Now Hub is started and 'Create Node' & 'Stop Hub' buttons are displayed

Click 'Create Node' button

Select a browser and click 'Add' button

That's it. You have created Hub and attached a node successfully

Hit http://localhost:4444/grid/console to cross check your actions

By default VisGrid-1.8 came with 2.46, if you want you can change selenium-server and drivers.

Now your Grid is configured and ready to run scripts in parallel using Selenium Grid and VisGrid.

Steps to Create Grid_Maven Project:

Create a Maven Project --- Create-sample-maven-project

Difference between normal webdriver script and Grid script is how you instantiate your browser

What is Hub:

The hub is the central point where you load your tests into.

Controlling of execution will be done from Hub

The hub is launched only on a single machine

The machine containing the hub is where the tests will be run, but you will see the browser being automated on the node.

What is Node:

Nodes are the Selenium instances that will execute the tests that you loaded on the hub.

There can be one or more nodes in a grid.

Nodes can be launched on multiple machines with different platforms and browsers.

The machines running the nodes need not be the same platform as that of the hub.

Develop Script that can run on Grid:

There are two important classes which plays major role while running scripts using Grid

DesiredCapabilites is used to set the type of browser and OS that we will automate

RemoteWebDriver is used to set which node (or machine) that our test will run against.

Generate XSLT reports for Webdriver scripts using ANT build.xml

In previous post i explained how to integrate ant with selenium and testNG. In this post i will explain how to Generate XSLT reports using Ant.

Need of XSLT reports:

Till now we are relying on reports generated by testNG. But those reports are not much interactive. XSLT reports are very interactive and easy to understand. Below is sample report.

Steps to Configure XSLT reports:

Prerequisites:

Configure XSLT:

Download testng-xslt-1.1.2-master.zip and unzip it
Copy all jar files and place them in jar library folder in your project.
Copy the testng-results.xsl from the testng-xslt folder(path: XSLT jartestng-xslt-1.1.2-mastertestng-xslt-1.1.2-mastersrcmainresources) and place in your project folder.
Modify xml code in build.xml

Below is updated build.xml file. which has xslt code included.

How to Generate XLST Reports:

To generate XSLT report you need to run build.xml file and need to check the task check box (makexsltreports) then report will be generated under your project with folder Name --- XSLT_Reports---output--index.html

You can run makexsltreports task from comamnd prompt also. Here is the way to run

Navigate to projetc folder from command prompt and type in --- ant

I updated code to generate failed report.

Click on Test which is under TestNG Results.

Click on Failed test case method name (testTC2()). and click on exception..it will show you details about exception.

Class EventFiringWebDriver and Interface WebDriverEventListener

In this post i will try to explain what is the use of Class EventFiringWebDriver and Interface WebDriverEventListener in selenium webdriver.

EventFiringWebDriver is a class and is used to wrap your webdriver around to throw events.

WebDriverEventListner is an interface which you have to implement to catch the webdriver events.

EventFiringWebDriver implements WebDriver interface, meaning you will get all regular methods like findElement,get,getText etc...apart from those methods you will also get register and unregister.

Register method is used to register your implementation of WebdriverEventListner to Webdriver events.

Below programs explains you how to implement Class EventFiringWebDriver and Interface WebDriverEventListener.

Here in this example i am trying to
1. Highlight element before performing any action and
2. Capture screenshot after every step.

First Lets implement WebDriverEventListener interface...MyListener is class Name which implemnts WebDriverEventListener interface.

What is need of Version Control System?

Version Control/Source Control/Revision Control is a system remembers history of your files.

Ex:
Below are some of the reasons why we use Repository.
1. Lets assume there are 4 resources in your project and Resource 1 developed a function which is useful to other members, then he need to save that file in central location where every one can get that function.
2. Made a change to code, realized it was a mistake and wanted to revert back
3. Lost code or had a backup that was too old
4. Wanted to see the difference between two (or more) versions of your code

Advantages:

Create GitHub Account:

Navigate to Join GitHub and Create an account.

By default Free account will be chosen. Click Finish Signup button.
You will get a verification email and click Verify Email button in that email.
After clicking that it will navigate you to GitHub Home Page. Where you can create repositories.

Prerequisites:
Eclipse Latest Version (At least Luna)
Sample Webdriver Project using Maven (Create-sample-maven-project.html)

Steps to Create Git Repository:
1. In eclipse Right click on Project Team --Share Project.
2. Select Git and Click Next.
3. Click on Create button and Give path of local repository (F:\Gitrepo)

4. Now Enable Git related Views ... Window--Show View --Other --Git --Git repositories and Git Staging

5. Now if you observe project is moved to (F:\Gitrepo)
6. Now lets commit our changes to local repo.. Right click on project --Team---Commit
7. Enter a commit message this is a best practice and select files you want to commit. Click Commit.

8. Once you committed it will create a master under local folder.

9. Now Navigate to GitHUb and create a repository.

10. Once the repo is created copy repo URL as shown in below screenshot.

11. Now back to eclipse and Right click on remotes under Git repositories --Create Remotes

12. No Need to change name..Click OK.

13. in the next screen click Change and enter repo url and credentials.

14. Click advanced select Master from dropdown and click add spec and check save configuration check box...click finish..

15. Click Save.

16. Expand remote under Git repositories and you can see Origin under remote folder.

17. Right click on Red arrow Under Origin and select push.

18. Changes will be pushed to repo. Check your Github repo.

This is How to create repo in Github....

Update local file and commit changes to Gitrepo:

1. Update one file in eclipse.

3. Right click on File Team --Commit and enter commit message

4. Click Commit and Push..Enter credentials changes will be pushed to repo.

Thats it..this is how to create repo and commit your changes.

Need of AutoIT in Webdirver:

Webdriver can only interact with web applications, it can not interact with desktop components or Browser related popups.

What is AutoIT and Features :

AutoIt v3 is a freeware BASIC-like scripting language designed for automating the Windows GUI and general scripting. It uses a combination of simulated keystrokes, mouse movement and window/control manipulation in order to automate tasks in a way not possible or reliable with other languages (e.g. VBScript and SendKeys). AutoIt is also very small, self-contained and will run on all versions of Windows out-of-the-box with no annoying “runtimes” required!

Install AutoIT:

To install AutoIt first download the AutoIt exe file from the below location.

Download AutoIT

1. Click on the topmost download for AutoIT

2. Follow the instructions to install AutoIT.

Record AutoIT script:

AutoIT has record feature. We can record script using AutoIT, for that we need AutoIT script Editor.

Download AutoIT Script Editor:

In Auto IT downloads page we have one more file called "Download Editor". Once you click on that it will navigte to downlaods page, then download "SciTE4AutoIt3.exe" file.

How to Use:

Scenario:

1. Navigate to http://www.dropzonejs.com/

2. Click on Try it Out section --It will open window (upload file window)

3. select a file and click open

4. Verify uploaded file in Try it Out section.

First lets see how to create AutoIT script to upload file.

If you want help about commands you can navigate to Start > All Program > AutoIt v3 > Autoit Help file. and search for commands.

In the above scenario i need to upload file. After clicking on try it Out it will open a Upload file window.

Need to identify Locators (text box). AutoIt has given us Windows Info tool, it is same like Object Spy in QTP and Element Inspector in any Browser. To open it go to Start > All Program > AutoIt v3 > AutoIt Window Info.

Now drag the ‘Finder Tool‘ box to the object in which you are interested.

You can see that Windows Info tool has populated all the information which is required to use the method.

Write Automation script to Upload file:

Save that file with extension .au3 and Convert script to .exe file.

After compilation you will get Upload.exe file.

How to use file in Webdriver:

In this article i would like to write something about Build tool ANT. http://ant.apache.org/

A build tool stores, executes automates all the process in a sequential order(Clean, SetPath, Compile and Execute) mentioned in Ant's build.xml file.

Benefits of ANT:

1. It is a simple build tool all configurations we can do from build.xml file.

2. Configuration is separate from application.

3. ANT is written in Java but its a platform independent tool. (Requires JDK)

4. We can create Jar files, Java doc.

5. Copy files to different locations

6. Can create directories and folders

7. Can create HTML reports.

8. It supports Junit4 and TestNG unit testing frameworks.

How to Setup ANT:

1. Download ant from Download ANT.

2. Unzip ant folder and place it in a folder (D:\ant)

3. Set ANT_HOME and Path in environmental variable.

4. Verify ANT. Open Command prompt and type in ant -version...shows you version of ANT.

In this post i would like to discuss about Maven.

Here are few basic questions:

What is Maven?
What are the advantages of Maven.
How to use Maven in Selenium projects.
How to Create a maven project?

What is Maven:
Maven -- is a build tool and it is mainly used for Java projects.
Maven is used to manage dependencies.
For example if you are using selenium latest version 2.47.1 and later point of time if you have to upgrade to newer version of selenium, then it can be manged very easily by using Maven dependencies.

What are the advantages of Maven.

It is a build tool, so it is used to setup everything which is required to run your java code independently.

Maven provides pom.xml which is core to any project.

Maven is used to manage dependencies.

Maven is a plugin for many of IDEs. (Eclipse, Netbeans, IntelliJ etc..)

Frequently used terms in Maven:

GroupID:
Group id refers to domain ID. For example you can use company name as groupID.

Artifact ID:
Name of the project. what ever the name you provide in artifact ID it is nothing but your project ID.

Local repository:

Maven downloads all required jar files and stores in local repository with folder name .m2 (C:\Users\username\.m2)

Maven Set Up:

Pre-requisites:
Make sure Java is installed
Make sure Java_Home and path are set under environmental properties.
Latest version of eclipse (Luna or Mars)

If you are using Luna or Mars you need not to install Maven plug in, bcs maven plug in is already installed in these versions of Eclipse EclipseIDE

Verify Maven is already installed or not.
1. Open Eclipse, Click on Help ----> select About Eclipse..a window will open.

if you see m2 symbol there ..that means maven is installed.

Create Maven Project:

1. File ---New --Other ---Expand Maven and select Maven Project

2. Click Next in "New Maven Project Screen"

3. select "maven-archetype-quickstart" from list of artifacts. (be default quickstart will be selected)
4. Enter Group ID, Artifact ID Click Finish

5. Once you created a project in eclipse you can see the project

Add Dependencies:

Open pom.xml
Click on pom.xml tab
Add a testNG dependency.

Navigate to MavenRepository and search for TestNG
Select the desired version.
Copy testNG dependency and paste it in pom.xml

4. Add Selenium related dependencies.

Allow some time to download those Jar files and these files will be automatically added to your project. Files will be stored under .m2 folder (C:\Users\username\.m2)

Now you can write your normal Selenium-TestNG program and run the script.

The maven-surefire-plugin is used to configure and execute tests. Here plugin is used to configure the testing.xml for TestNG test and generate test reports.

The maven-compiler-plugin is used to help in compiling the code and using the particular JDK version for compilation. Add all dependencies in the following code snippet, to pom.xml in the node
