2012 Review - SlimQuick Ultra Fat Burner Part 2

Okay, so here's my review of SlimQuick Ultra Fat Burner...I'm sorry to say but this product, for a few reasons, just didn't do it for me! Initially, I felt good about taking a pill twice a day that had an end result similiar to potential. In my first 3 days, I didn't have any side effects nor did I have any weightloss but again, it was only the 3rd day. By the fifth day, I had lost a few pounds!

After taking the pills for about a week I became that much more aware of what I was putting in my mouth so, I cut out Pepsi (my daily 1litre a day crutch), food (snacks, those damn naughty snacks!!) but what else bothered me was actually taking these pills!

After the first week you need to start taking 2 pills twice a day. So I did and what were minor stomach twinges turned into odd stomach cramps. Nothing I couldn't handle just a weird feeling that didn't feel 'normal'. By the end of my second week it was time to begin taking 6 pills a day and this is where I began to lose interest...

At 14 days...

- stomach cramps
- a sense of uneasyness regarding to ingesting these pills and what they may be doing to my body
- no real measurable weightloss beyond the few pounds I'd lost at the end of the first week

Day 15 - I quit!!

So, ultimately what the pills did was simply make me more aware of what I was eating and drinking...not worth the expense as I believe I could have done that on my own with a bit of will power. I won't be trying any more of these types of things in the future and I honestly can't say that I would recommend them to anybody either. Keep your money in your wallet not someone else's and really, I'd suggest to keep a food journal...not like you probably don't already know what you eat and drink that is bad for you but maybe seeing it on paper will strike a cord and be encouragement enough.

Now, I drink a tonne of water every day, eat fruit, stay away from snacking on garbage foods and getting exercise all on my own without the help of something I really don't think works anyways.
I'll keep you posted as to how this works for me and if I can stick with it or not?...

By the way, my diet normally consisted of pop, chips, nachos, cheese, bacon and carbs. I try to keep my calorie intake to a minimum except on weekends when I do spoil myself a tad with a cocktail and a bit of snacking on the naughty stuff...I will not deprive myself totally of the things I love but do make a concerted effort to behave!! :)

Well, well, well dear readers I'm going to admit that after a few changes in my life and Christmas behind me, my behind feels large, extra large...my clothes don't fit right and I feel like a chunky monkey so...

I've decided to try something to help my cause of losing unwanted pounds and it's called SlimQuick Ultra Fat Burner and I hope it is my newest miracle lol...oh sure, I could exercise more (haven't done a lot of that since I got my driver's license) and quite frankly I could eat a little less cheese and bacon both of which I adore. Oh and pop, I drink a tonne of Pepsi!!

That was until last Sunday when I decided it was time to get it together girl!

At 5'7.5" and 150lbs, I finally stopped drinking pop, cut down on my intake of fatty foods and have been drinking water like a fish. Yesterday I began with this new to me diet supplement which apparently burns fat, burns calories and burns carbs. The box states one could lose 25lbs in 90 days while those on their trial and on placebos, only lost 8.1lbs.

I took my first two pills yesterday and I don't know if it was in my head but this stuff did supress my appetite and I didn't oink out like I normally would when I hang out with a particular friend of mine who also loves to chow down!!

Time will tell how this progresses, I don't plan on changing my diet to healthy foods just smaller portions of what I do love and to make myself more aware of what I am eating and how much of it. The 'no pop' thing ought to be interesting as I have been drinking at least .5L every day for the past 20 years. I also try to go for at least 3 long walks a week, which are down hill there and uphill back...killer!!

Don't...

- Ask me what I'm thinking then accuse me of being negative when you don't like the answer!

- 'shhhhhh!' me...ever!

- Say I look fine, fat, bloated or tired

- Say that 'she' looks 'fine' otherwise I'll most likely think that you're thinking she's hot!

- Say 'are you OK?, you seem off'

- complain about how much you spent on a gift, especially if we love it. If we hate it, what were you thinking?

- ask me to trade what I need/want for sexual favours, groceries for oral sex is not a turn on!!

- tell me I drive like a blonde, even though I am and do (sometimes)

- talk about our sex life with your parents

- yell at me

- call your/my/our daughter a Bitch!

- tell me you'll die if you don't get some

- tell me that someone else's recipe is better than mine, unless I say it first and even then, it could still be dangerous

- whine and cry like a little girl because you don't get your way, that's my job lol ;)

- say that I'm high maintenance

- call me Princess unless you are treating me like one

- ask me what I'd like to eat, then tell me I can't have it, I mean really?

Yep, that's right folks and under all new pretenses! I'd like to thank those who waited for my return with a big virtual huggg and a smile. It's been a tough go since my last post and the one before that and well, quite frankly the one before that too!

Ahh ha, but an update on my driving skills is due...and guess what? I haven't had one single accident or speeding ticket (not that I'm speeding of course ;) and best of all I haven't killed anyone nor myself. Sure I've had some rather hairy moments on the open road, a few where my heart skipped a beat and I wondered secretly to myself if I was going to make it. I'm grinning as I right this because honestly I'm glad these learning experiences haven't been detrimental!

I really just wanted to say hi and touch base before I begin again at my attempt to posting on a regular basis... well, maybe I will just ramble on for a bit...

Let's see, I'll post blurps of info then will follow up with a full post if I deem it interesting or if you request to know more...

- One bad thing; well sadly the first thing that is coming to mind is that my current job sucks! Sure I thought I'd enjoy it but I am desperately attempting to find other options. The thought of this job when I am not working really gets under my skin and I cringe at the thought of it. One good thing, I do work from home which is totally awesome, not many can say they work in their pj's!

- One good thing (sounds more positive right?); I can finally look at pictures of my past life (married with 2 step children, 2 dogs and a cat) which are pretty much no longer in my world and not burst into tears. One bad thing; I'm still not over it and we've been separated for over a year!

- One good thing; I live in a sweet pad that overlooking one of the most beautiful lakes in BC. The sunsets are amazing, the summers are gorgeous and the winters are tame, ahhh! One bad thing; I don't own it!

- One good thing; I'm ready for another relationship but not with a human, a pet. I've been longing for a puppy or rescue pooch and yes, this is a good sign for me. One bad thing; I'm not ready for a relationship with a man, not yet. Oh sure, I date, hang out, have fun and stuff but I am absolutely terrified of committing myself.

- One good thing; I've gone back to school! I decided that it was time to retry my attempts at getting educated in a field that I enjoy other than income taxes which has sucked up a lot of learning time over the past decade. This has been a challenge but I'm doing it, one step at a time. One bad thing; I'm running out time on this course and due to work, I'm not sure if I'll be able to finish with the grade I desire.

_ One more good thing; I smile more, I laugh more, I dance more. One more bad thing; I also eat more! In the end this is a good thing as I was damn near feeling worried for myself. Now, I actually crave food then eat it and yes, it is showing. I'm not exactly excited as to where it has chosen to land (how you say...muffin top and bootie) but this is only temporary. It's funny because I know I am healthier because of a lot of reasons but having a car has literally made me a lazy ass in the getting exercise department. This is going to change by this summer :) ...last summer of 2011 I wore a bikini and I will get into one again in 2012! The summer, not now lol!!

Learning to drive... at age 41!

...I've had many a misadventure in the past few months while learning to drive at the almost semi-ripe age of 41! Shocking, yes, I know but believe me there are still women out there like me who don't drive. When I tell people my 'dirty little secret' they are literally awestruck and but I'm not alone. I come from a family who's Mom never drove, my neighbour didn't drive, a few friends of mine don't drive and when you I share my noncompliance with the norm...others just like me crawl out of the woodwork!

Really though, NOT driving hasn't been the worst thing that hasn't happened to me in my life. In fact you can't miss what you've never had so, experiencing the freedom that those who drive brag about isn't something I've ever missed. I get my jollies by going for a walk, riding my bike, taking a cab and even public transit is an experience in itself. Not that the last two options are overly exciting and the taxi business gets rather pricey but eh, whats a girl to do with her arm full of shopping bags, it's -20 and home is five blocks away...'taxi!'

So, this is how the story goes I've had my learners license 4 times now, yes 4 but I just have never grown the set I need to take me to the next level. I get this sort of panicked feeling that washes over me and I can't seem to shake it. Not that I haven't driven mind you 'cause I have, just not enough to gain the confidence I need, at least in my opinion. But now, I'm 41 and living in an area where the nearest bus stop is 2.5 miles away and the bus ride itself takes an hour to get to the mall or anywhere else intriguing and with that normally taking only 10 minutes by car that is a huge...ouch!! Time is a factor and at my age and I just don't want to waste anymore time, it's far to precious. Not only that but, I want my freedom, the freedom to go where I want, when I want for as long as I want...uh, duh blondie (that's me talking to me) it's time to remove the noose from your neck and dive in, there will be NO more dickin' around!

My other challenge at this stage of my life is that the only vehicle I have access to is a standard. That's a manual transmission ladies, a stick or stick shift. The knobby thing that gets in the way when you're trying to snuggle your man. The thing that forces you to sit cockeyed and half sideways!? So, not only am I learning the rules of the road as a driver (not the back seat non-licensed yappy thing sitting beside the actual driver again) but, I also have to learn the ropes of a third pedal (the clutch) and the big H (the gear shift)!

How do you say sweaty, white knuckled, blonde lady behind is a comin'...well, you just look for the big red L on the back of my SUV and say nothing (please) just bite your tongue and be patient, we all have had to learn at some point, right!?

Yesterday for example, I stalled on a left hand turn in the middle of the freakin' intersection and missed the light. Another time, coming up the hill too slowly for 3rd gear the dang thing stalled on me and I had to get 'er going again or just sit there all red faced and scared...7 tries later I got us up the hill. Those were my two most recent and I needn't go into the jerky motioned whip lash scenes that occur or the stalling because I forget to put in the clutch when I braked, or how I hate it when the vehicle begins to roll down hill and there is a cliff right behind me...whew, nerve wracking to say the least but I'm gonna do it and when I get it, when I finally clue in to how the whole works I'm sure I'll just love it, right lol! right!?

Thankfully, I can just visit their website and get my own free sample (and pssst. you can too) but in the meantime...I'm stumped as to where I can buy it, any thoughts?!

Just so you know, Boudreaux's Butt Paste is recommended by respected pediatricians for more than just diaper rash, it also soothes irritated skin (and wipes on, off and up easily which is great for excessive, messy people!).

Why is it special? Like, what does it do? Well, B's Butt paste contains zinc oxide which forms a gentle barrier between babies super soft skin and harmful agents such as urine which is what causes diaper rash. I've used similar barrier creams on my own skin to protect myself from harmful detergents and cleaning agents and although it wasn't this product, the function was the same...protection!

So, if you can find it grab a tube, jar or container today and slather up and protect that skin albeit yours or babies...I'm no doctor but how can we go wrong when Oprah says it's okay?! :)

p.s. ...and no, there is no age limit on this product . Meaning, if are wrinkled and in need of protective undergarments then by all means get some for yourself! I know when my day comes, I'll be reaching for it or if I'm lucky someone else will and they'll also put it on for me, lol!!

Is it Wrong to Give a 'Used' Item to your Wife as a Gift?

Scenario -

I've just recently been asked by a male friend if it's okay for a man to give a gift to a woman that has been used by someone else?... "Such as" I asked "pawned jewelry, estate jewelry or a used appliance?" ...he laughed and wasn't sure it made a difference but I assured him after a few moments of deliberation it makes a difference and is just a wee bit complicated a) because every receiver is different and b) the gift itself would also play an important factor.

Personally, I think that depending upon the sincerity or reason behind the gift then the end result would play out accordingly... such as...lets say your spouse came home with a used Kirby vacuum that has no box, no instructions, no extra pieces, is crusty dirty and looks well, used!... I'd think a big fat no is in order if he thinks I'm going to clean it, then clean with it!

But, lets say for arguments sake the gift is estate jewelry like a stunning bracelet or a pawned diamond ring or a gorgeous pair of earrings, would it be okay to gift a 'used' item then? Remembering that it is always the thought that counts...I say 'go for it' but please be sincere with the gift and the reason behind buying it and giving it (and perhaps don't advertise it came from smokey Joe's as opposed to Tiffanys!)

p.s. by the way boys, do not under any circumstances bring your wife home an appliance as a romantic 'gift' at any time of the year unless, you want to sleep on the couch for the rest of it!!!

My guess would be that you may not have bought gifts just yet for everyone in your life so, why not visit Pier 1 for some holiday gifts that will even put a smile on your Mother-in-laws face! Perhaps a nice clock that will enable her to count the excitedly anticipated minutes between this visit and your next or the seconds if she so desires...lol! Yes, even she may laugh if you use that line when she thanks you.

If I could go to the outlet store for this year's fashions I'd aim for another purse or two, a scarf or three, well, a half dozen maybe along with some cute hats, leggings and jewelry. Oh and boots, I love boots! No, not the flat practical ones, I love the high heeled leather or suede boots with lace ups or zippers. And jackets, well, 'they' (meaning more than one) could be long, short and shorter, fitted, black, check pattern and ski bunny style which means I'd need another type of boot... ;) yada yada ahhh, shopping, gotta love it!

Myers Briggs Type Indicator test - ...so, I'm an INFJ now what?

When I'm in the mood for self discovery I find myself flitting about the internet taking aptitude and personality tests. Sometimes you chase links around in circles or do quizzes just to find it costs money or at least information to get the results. But, not today and not here ;)

Earlier this afternoon I spent some time Googling aptitude tests and came across a Myers-Briggs Type Indicator test (a personality test). The best kind of test actually, because there are no right or wrong answers! Simply take the test (it's only 72 questions long, has no time limit, is free and informative ;) and this site will give you the results right away without asking anything of you.

There are 16 different personality types and my type is apparently, an... INFJ which means Introverted Intuitive Feeling Judging.

When I read about INFJer's, I read some more and then dove into reading, the results were me to a T! They've also said that by being an INFJ I'm making up just 1-3% of the world's population making it the rarest of personality types. I'm not sure if that's good or bad at this point but, it does clarify a lot of things I've often wondered about myself, lol. 'They' compare INFJ's to the rare qualities of a Dolphin, hence the pic which is funny because I don't eat much seafood ;)

After visiting the western side of Canada (currently reside in Ontario) I've noticed that the women of the Okanagan Valley seem much healthier than those from the Central Ontario area. Both places are somewhat similar (although one is dry, more moderate in climate and mountainous) they're both known for summer and winter recreation and are considered desirable locations in either province.

Back to what I've noticed...

- women in both areas seem to smoke a lot and yes, more than men.
- in BC, women of all ages seemed more physically fit and in shape, regardless of their age!
- within the Okanagan they offer 1/2 orders in most restaurants (and no, not for half the price ;)

Is climate a factor? Exercise doesn't have to stop because the temperature below -20! ...their is an heir about the valley, more so the Kelowna and surrounding area, almost like a 'look at me, I'm hot' competition. A keep up with Jones feel that goes beyond materialistic goods and has incorporated physical appearance.. Or, is it they are more educated about healthy living and have the desire for a long, happy and healthy life? Wouldn't anyone want that regardless of their location? Perhaps there's something in the water, out in the east that is ;) I've often wondered that myself...

Maybe society does play some factor but does geography also result in your overall weight and the choices one makes?

Oh, and yes I am currently a smoker...bad, yes I know but, I am quiting. Date? Not sure but it could be much sooner than later, as I'd thought. I'll keep you posted on that one! Best part of all is that I know I can quit because I've done it before and although it's one of the hardest things I've done, I lived to tell the story and so did those around me ;) so I can certainly do it again!

Canada is #11 on a list of Obesity statistics shown by website Nation Master Obesity by Country online chart and the US is #1 with South Korea being on the very bottom out of 28 countries!

Note to self: look into diet, lifestyle and geography of South Korea...do they eat rice, I sooo don't like rice! ...just googled it and found they eat a lot of seafood, yummy but also what we consider man's best friend so, I'll just stick my routine 5' 7" at 115lbs at 40 years of age 'cause it's working for me. And yes, when I quit the smoking my size may change but I'm okay with that. I'm aware of just what I did wrong last time when I quit. No food rewards! Get it, NO food rewards!!!

We, as a society, would never accept what's pictured above and would more than likely freak out. Yet, once this adorable baby becomes a youngster, youth, teen, young adult and then adult, society as a whole backs off and some cases even encourage the behavior. What's with that?!

Packing your Luggage for Vacation... Part 2 (Update)

A couple of months back I wrote a post regarding the Do's and Don'ts of Packing Luggage when going on your vacation. Well, it's one thing to write about it but, to actually apply what I learnt when it's my turn are apparently two totally different things.

One thing I will say is that I believe the season you are travelling in, your destination and the size of your luggage all play factors! For example; I've got two pieces that I travel with...the largest and the carry on size which isn't unreasonable, right? But, wow can you ever pack the crap into them! Especially, when you are going to a hot, summer destination and your clothes are thin and light thus taking hardly any room.

My large piece weighed in at 52kg when I brought it home and really didn't do much shopping while away. Funny thing is though, I hardly wore anything out of that suitcase! I seemed to always go for my 'go to' outfits, depending upon the time of day, and then altered in and out my favourite sandals as necessary. All in all, I wore 3 sun dresses, my bathing suit, a pair of camo pants, a few white and black t-shirts, one pair of jeans, pj's and undergarments. If I didn't have a make-up bag, hair dryer and a shoe fetish, I could have crammed it all into my carry on!!

...so, will I keep this in mind on my next getaway? Probably but, would I dare pack so lightly in the future?...I doubt it ;)

For those of you who haven't heard of the 'drug' Salvia Divinorum, here's a heads up for you. Why? Because it's considered totally legal and is abundantly available and accessible to our teens and young adults even though it hails from Mexico! It's effects are like that of LCD and PCP and if kids can find it, know how to process it or simply know someone who knows someone...they're in for a high they may not have wanted!!

While on the tail end of my vacation in Ontario, my friend and I encountered a group of youngsters (around 17 - 25) coming to party on the beach. They were drinking, smoking and toking the usual garb (Marjiuana). That was until a young lady brought out some Salvia Divinorum (to smoke, which has pyschoactive effects) also known as Diviner's Sage, Seer's Sage & Magic Mint. Salvia (non-psychoactive) version is often confused with Salvia Divinorum.

Users say that smoking Salvia is quicker and more intense than chewing it but the dreamlike effects are not long lasting. You may peak in 5 minutes then it's over or it could last up to an hour.

Back to that beach party...

So, this young lady brought out this processed Salvia and it was already prepared and ready to be smoked. ...and yes, I watched and listened from the corner of my third eye ;)

She then proceeded to tell this much younger guy/kid what to expect and what to do on his first try. She wanted him to sit down and inhale, holding it in as long as possible and for him to stay seated so he doesn't get hurt. That caught my attention and I immediately found myself within the little party trying to talk the kid out of trying it. Nosy yes and perhaps a little dangerous to stick my nose in but to say nothing just isn't in my nature and geez the kid just looked so young! He just smiled at, told me not to worry about it with an 'I'll be fine' as he brought it up to his mouth and inhaled the Salvia!

Back over in the sidelines we watched him stand (he refused to sit) and he held it in until his mouth burst open, exhaling a huge puff of smoke with a gigantic smile on his face. He then began to laugh out loud so hard that he teared up and could not stand up (someone got a lawn chair under him). Through tears of laughter? he mumbled that he couldn't see then continued to laugh hysterically as strings of drool puddled at his feet!! His 'friends' were all laughing at him and seemed to think it was the funniest thing they'd ever seen...I just wanted to cry for him.

I continued to watch and after about 5 minutes the kid managed to speak in a manner that was legible. He proceeded to say that he had no idea what had happened or what went on so, I made my way back over and asked him if he was okay. That's when he said to me 'I'm okay but it wasn't funny, in fact I was scared because I thought people were trying to hurt me?!' So, that was nervous laughter? This boy was absolutely vulnerable under Salvia and yet every other youngster was eager to try it, even after watching him and that gong show he'd just put on?!?? What's with today's kids, it sounds absolutley terrifying to me...why would you want to chase a high that has you non-functional, weak and scared?!

That group of kids beetled off out of the area very soon after he returned to 'normal'. No, I didn't call the cops because I had no phone...hmmm, best watch where we take strolls although oddly enough they weren't concerned with an audience being present, why not? why no fear?

Product Review - Veet Hair Removal Gel Cream

My last post was entitled Male Body Hair - Love it or Lose it! and was aimed at the world's cuddly teddy bear type of man who doans a hair sweater. But, that doesn't mean I could ignore the fact that many ladies also retain body hair in highly visual places...that could vanish instantly and not hurt my feelings!

I'm guilty myself of lettting cold weather determine my shaving routine (no, the photo below is not of me) but could be ;) ...thankfully summer gets my beauty calendar back in check! Not for all women though as many could care less about shaving and choose to be au natural goddessess, regardless of what others may think.

Product Review - Veet Hair Removal Gel Cream

I've been using Veet Hair Removal Gel Cream for a couple of years now and love. love, love the end results! First of all, yes, it does stink but not nearly as bad as those hair removal creams of yesteryear. You do need to watch your timing, do not leave on any longer than 3-6 minutes. As well, do not apply after you've shaved, wait at least three days between hair removal attempts.

Pssst, don't tell anyone but, I've even used the hair removal cream where you aren't supposed to (like where little miss coochie hair pie above, does not!) I know that's bad so, I'm not recommending you do that but, it does work and I've never had an issue (that's how gentle it is I guess). Why would I risk it? Well, I just simply didn't read the instructions the first time I tried it ...sort of like 'playing dumb' on purpose with a rather large test patch?! Luckily, it was a success, stupid girl ;)

Safety wise; I do not just apply the cream there is a process that take care and attention before it even touches me...cover areas with vaseline that you don't want the hair removal cream to touch then cover that with a layer of papertowel and get busy, tick tock on the clock once you begin, don't press it!
