Novak Djokovic showed no mercy to Taylor Fritz, crushing the top American 6-0, 6-4 to join Carlos Alcaraz in the semifinals of the Cincinnati Masters.

Djokovic, the world No. 3, was in complete control from the start, breaking Fritz's serve in the opening game of the match and never looking back. He won 81% of his first-serve points and saved all five break points he faced.

Fritz, who is ranked No. 14 in the world, was unable to find any rhythm against Djokovic and made 30 unforced errors. He had a brief resurgence in the second set, breaking Djokovic to lead 4-3, but Djokovic broke back immediately and served out the match in style.

Djokovic will now face Alcaraz in the semifinals. The Spanish teenager is the tournament's No. 1 seed and has yet to drop a set. Djokovic leads Alcaraz 2-1 in their head-to-head record.

The winner of the Djokovic-Alcaraz match will face the winner of the semifinal between Felix Auger-Aliassime and Andrey Rublev.

Djokovic is looking to win his first title in Cincinnati since 2018. He is also looking to improve his record in Masters 1000 finals, where he has a 32-19 record.

Second Paris Olympics Swimming Test Event Canceled Due to Poor Water Quality

2023-08-19T10:46:00.001-07:00

Paris Olympics organizers have canceled a paratriathlon swimming test event in the Seine River due to poor water quality.

The event was supposed to take place on Saturday, but it was canceled after tests showed that the water was not safe for swimmers. The water quality was affected by recent rainfall, which caused overflows of untreated waste into the river.

This is the second time that a swimming test event in the Seine has been canceled due to poor water quality. A previous test event was canceled in July for the same reason.

The poor water quality in the Seine is a major concern for Paris Olympics organizers. They are working to improve the water quality before the Olympics, but it is a challenge. The Seine is a heavily polluted river, and it is difficult to keep it clean.

The cancellation of the swimming test event is a setback for Paris Olympics organizers. They need to ensure that the water quality in the Seine is safe for athletes before the Olympics. If the water quality is not safe, it could force organizers to move the swimming events to another location.

Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri has called on his players to use the disappointment of missing out on the Champions League to fuel their performance in the Serie A season.

Juventus finished fourth in Serie A last season, missing out on a place in the Champions League for the first time since 2012. Allegri, who returned to the club in May, said that his players must use the "bitterness" of missing out on the Champions League to motivate them in the upcoming season.

"We must use this bitterness to fuel our performance in the Serie A," Allegri said. "We must show that we are a strong team and that we can compete for the title."

Juventus have made a number of signings in the summer transfer window, including Angel Di Maria, Paul Pogba, and Gleison Bremer. Allegri said that he is confident that his team can challenge for the Serie A title this season.

"We have a good team," Allegri said. "We have added some quality players in the summer and I am confident that we can challenge for the title."

Juventus will start their Serie A season on August 22 against Sassuolo.
