420 Cannabis culture day!

2011-04-20T08:19:00.000-07:00

The term was allegedly coined by a group of teenagers in San Rafael, California in 1971.^[2]^[3] Calling themselves the Waldos, because "their chosen hang-out spot was a wall outside the school,"^[4] the group first used the term in connection to a fall 1971 plan to search for an abandoned cannabis crop that they had learned about.^[5] The Waldos designated the Louis Pasteur statue on the grounds of San Rafael High School as their meeting place, and 4:20 p.m. as their meeting time.^[4]The Waldos referred to this plan with the phrase "4:20 Louis". Multiple failed attempts to find the crop eventually shortened their phrase to simply "4:20", which ultimately evolved into a codeword the teens used to mean pot-smoking in general.^[5]

High Times Creative Director Steven Hager was the first person to track down the Waldos and publish their account of the origins of the term. Hager wrote "Are You Stoner Smart or Stoner Stupid?" (October 1998) in which he called for 4:20 p.m. to be the socially accepted hour of the day to consume cannabis. "I believe 420 is a ritualization of cannabis use that holds deep meaning for our subculture," wrote Hager. "It also points us in a direction for the responsible use of cannabis."

"Road Train"

2011-01-19T16:06:00.000-08:00

This is rather interesting. In Europe they are working on technology that would make cars into trains - basically. What happens is there are computers, sensors and all sorts of gizmos which link up the cars. Obviously the car in the front is the "lead" and all the other cars follow that car. So, the cars following just sit back and relax. Apparently this is going to be safer, more economical and cut congestion. This is already in the testing phase, so if successful it should go into production rather soon. They better keep the actual computer human input part simple - because you might just go "ah, I am linked up to the lead car now." You let go, and all of the sudden your car is in crushed up against a tree...

Motley Crue's Vince Neil still living the way he use to

2011-01-19T04:11:00.000-08:00

Vince was arrested for drunk driving! They sort of take "rockstar" overboard. He is getting 2 weeks in jail and 2 weeks house arrest. Not that bad considering what could have been...

Be responsible, don't drink and drive! Set an example!

ScienceDaily (2010-11-10) -- Researchers believe they have found which species has the largest testicles in relation to body weight on the planet -- and why. One of the researchers said, "We couldn't believe the size of these organs, they seemed to fill the entire abdomen." Researchers were surprised that the Tuberous bushcricket did not produce more sperm: in fact they produced less voluminous ejaculates.
