Just a quick, simple and sweet news before the end of the week.

Gamesauce, a full-color trade magazine and on-line portal for the game industry founded in Fall 2009 by Jessica Tams, managing director of the Casual Games Association focusing on the international video game industry has featured Reza Razali, founder of Terato on their Video Coverage Section.

Not sure when they did the interview but here some excerpt from the article:

As for the greatest challenges in the game industry, Reza believes it is discoverability and fundraising. The majority of companies in the area find it necessary to supplement their revenues from IP development with servicing work. It is difficult to raise sufficient funds, and fundraising too early leaves a company vulnerable to a low valuation.

He tells us, “I have met various game development companies which gave up 50 percent of the company for less than $10,000 US.” He insists that discoverability is also a problem unless the company has an adequate user acquisition budget or the backing of a well-known publisher.

Hopefully this article would give some useful insights to everyone especially youngsters and entrepreneurs who would like to jump into the mobile game industry.

It’s only May but Terato already had such an amazing year.

Some of you may know that we received our first ISO certificates (9001:2008) last March. We also been working on quite a very big game project that I shouldn’t say much about it. Other than that, we relocating some of the team members to our new office spaces(s) in Cyberjaya.

On top of that, we have been invited by Malaysia External Trade and Development Corporation (MATRADE) to be part of their export exhibition at Malaysia Export Exhibition Centre (MEEC).

We are at box number 208 and you can visit us (and lot of other boxes) anytime 9 to 5 except during holidays.

Terato tech with some (indirect) help from both political sides (BN and Pakatan Rakyat if you don’t know), has released another app (other than the great PRU.MY) for iPad and iPad Mini users, MANIFESTO PRU 2013.

Description from the iTunes:

The General Elections 2013 Manifesto app is an effort to help the impoverished dignitaries of Malaysia to get transparent and accurate info on the manifestos of parties contesting in the GE13.

This app is politically correct and safe for household consumption of both voting and non-voting age, and can also be shared with colleagues and election officials alike without fear of a manhunt under the Official Secrets Act 1972 (aka OSA). Additionally, this app can also cure boredom/random curiosity in many ways, one of it being that you can also play games such as Fruit Ninja or Amok! on your iPad AFTER going through the manifestos (please install the apps legally beforehand).

This app is powered by the Aiyo engine, and allows anyone, even you, to publish to the Apple App Store and earn income from your published apps.
