It isn't fresh news that adoption agencies are up in arms over Warner Bros. Pictures forthcoming Orphan, as back in May foster care groups forced the studio to amend their trailer removing the line, "It must be hard to love an adopted child as much as your own." Since then, I have refused to update the trailer in our database on pure principal, get the f*k over it. Apparently, these groups seem to think that bringing attention to the movie is going to help their cause, when anyone with a brain knows that all they are doing is bringing attention to the movie (just like with Bruno). In fact, the studios LOVE a good protest/boycott, so go ahead, bitch, moan and strike the film, people are still going to see it and you're still going to be an arsehole with no life. Read on for more on the latest call for a "boycott" (sigh) and tell us what YOU think (I am pretty curious).

Below you'll find the first two one sheet images being used for Fox Home Entertainment's Wrong Turn 3: Left for Dead, which arrives on DVD October 20. Fonda and her friends go to the woods for a couple of days. Her friends are killed by the wild, now staple mutant killer, Three Finger, who of course cannibalizes them. She is left to fend for herself, but not for long. Meanwhile some dangerous prisoners are being transferred by Nate Wilson, a prison warden, on his last day before leaving to become a lawyer. During transport their truck is attacked by Three Finger and the prisoners escape. While being chased through the woods, the prisoners come across an abandoned truck filled with bags of money.
In the below video from MTV, Nicolas Cage talks a bit about the sequel to Ghost Rider, which he makes sound like it could be more of a reboot. ""I would like to reconceive [the movie]," he told MTV. "I would like to go in a whole other direction, and I think that's what they're talking about." He continues, "I would make it much less of a Western and more of an international story." My idea for a sequel would be to recast Johnny Blaze, use less CG (if at all possible), and make it as dark as you possibly can. But I doubt Columbia Pictures could be that daring when there are hundreds of millions of dollars to be made. Damn you money!

Rumor has it that Christa Campbell is set to reprise her role as the sexy Milk Maiden, with word that Bill Moseley (TCM 2, The Devil's Rejects, The Tortured) has joined the cast of crazies. The UPDATE is that Robert Englund will NOT be returning as Mayor Buckman. We'll do some digging to see what we can find out, remember to keep this filed under rumor until we can confirm. Bevery Hellbillys is the second film in a planned trilogy that would end with The Hillbillys Have Eyes.
For those of you who have yet to see this, one of the best short horror films of 2008 is now online for your enjoyment, courtesy of Twitch Film. Entitled Treevenge, Jason Eisener's incredible short making the festival rounds details the experiences and horrifying reality of the lives of Christmas trees. Clearly, for trees, Christmas isnt the exciting peace on earth that is experienced by most. After being hacked down, and shipped away from their homes, they quickly become strung up, screwed into an upright position for all to see, exposed in a humiliation of garish decorations. But this Christmas will be different, this Christmas the trees have had enough, this Christmas the trees will fight back. Treevenge could be a short film about the end of days for Christmas trees, or perhaps, the end of humanity? WATCH IT!

It features Michael Myers in the rain about to walk up a staircase, it's a little lackluster for a poster and I find it hard to believe that this is the image they'd choose to use, but we'll let you know as soon as we find out. In other news, the official website was updated with AIM and wallpaper downloads, with one of the images being quite shocking.
While this year's Los Angeles Film Festival was jammed with options, the genre section was slim-pickings, which is why all we have for you is two reviews from the local event. First, we have a positive review of ZMD: Zombies of Mass Destruction, which BC writes, "This aint a splatter zombie film. Its merely a good one." In addition, we added a review for IFC Films' I Sell the Dead, "I went in hoping to be entertained, and thats exactly what I got." You can read the full reviews and get more info on both films by clicking the links above.

Vertigo Films (not to be confused with the Vertigo behind The Grudge and The Ring remakes) is producing what it claims will be the U.K.s first 3-D horror pic, Elfie Hopkins and the Gammons. Project, a co-production with Size 9 Prods., will star Jaime Winstone (Donkey Punch; pictured inside) as a teen misfit and aspiring detective who lives in a rural village. Her suspicions are aroused when a mysterious family, the Gammons, move into her neighborhood. Ryan Andrews, who co-wrote the script with Riyad Barmania, will direct. The pic, which will be set and shot in Wales, will start lensing this winter. Its incredibly exciting to be working at the forefront of new 3-D technology, which doesnt have to be the preserve of big-budget movies, Matthews said.
