Today Lionsgate released a few songs from Darren Lynn Bousman's horror-musical, Repo! The Genetic Opera, which opens in limited theaters November 7th. Platinum Dunes Still Not Signed For 'Elm Street' Remake?

Here's some crazy news for to chew on while we run back and forth at this week's San Diego Comic Con. We chatted with Platinum Dunes producer Brad Fuller who tells us that they have yet to officially sign on to produce the A Nightmare on Elm Street remake for Warner Bros. Pictures' division New Line Cinema. Earlier this week it was announced that veteran scribe Wesley Strick (Cape Fear, Doom) to pen the relaunch. Watch for any updates as they come in.

SDCC '08: 'Constantine 2', Or Lack Thereof...

B-D reporter BC was on the red carpet for THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL at this weeks San Diego Comic Con and had the chance to talk to star Keanu Reeves about his role in the remake. During the chat, Reeves revealed that Warner Bros. is no longer working on a sequel to CONSTANTINE, the adaptation of the popular comic book Hellblazer. "We got killed by [it] being an "R-rated" movie," Reeves explains. He tells us that he was in fact interested, but the movie just didnt make enough [at the box office]. 'Saw V' Trailer Attached to 'X-Files' Prints?

Although we have yet to confirm the news (it's 8 AM here), B-D reader 'Oliver' tells us that the first official trailer for Lionsgate's Saw V will be attached to prints of THE X-FILES: I WANT TO BELIEVE this Friday. If this is true, that would mean we'll be seeing it online as early as Friday, maybe even tonight after the panel at Comic Con? In the fifth installment of the popular SAW franchise, Hoffman is seemingly the last person alive to carry on the Jigsaw legacy. But when his secret is threatened, Hoffman must go on the hunt to eliminate all loose ends. The latest sequel arrives in theaters October 24th.

Update: Toy comes courtesy of Gentle Giant. I apologize I don't remember which company is releasing this magnificent specimen, but I'll update this tomorrow when I find out. Inside you'll find a prototype of a doll being created for Guillermo del Toro's Pan's Labyrinth -- and it's magnificent! The figure being created is "Fauno", who was played by the incredible Doug Jones. Read on for a look.

One of the coolest props at this week's San Diego Comic Con is a giant monster from Anchor Bay's upcoming Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer (review), which arrives on DVD October 7th. Inside you can take a look at one of the big baddies in the film directed by Jon Knautz. Jack Brooks is an angry, young plumber who has repressed the memory of witnessing his familys brutal murder. Only when he unknowingly awakens an ancient evil, is Jack forced to confront his past, deal with the monstrous reality of the present and discover the true purpose of his inner rage.

Big news comes from the San Diego Comic Con as Sony Home Entertainment has announced an October 21st release for Blu-ray editions of both GHOSTBUSTERS and GHOSTBUSTERS II. No extras were revealed yet as the Sony reps weren't around, we hope to have more info tomorrow. I love when an actor comes down to our level and can live amongst the fans. Today Thomas Jane was rocking a booth solely for the purpose of promoting Simon Hunter's The Mutant Chronicles, which he stars in. Read on for a look at some teaser art being used at the Con to promote the film. 23rd century soldier Major Mitch Hunter (Jane) leads a fight against an army of underworld NecroMutants. Rea plays the former commander of Lieutenant Mitch Hunter (Jane), a 23rd century Marine who tries to save Earth by leading a band of soldiers against evil NecroMutants. Perlman portrays the leader of a religious sect who thinks he can destroy the mutants and save the planet, recruiting Hunter to join him.

SDCC '08: Anchor Bay Announces 'Dead Space' Tie-In

Anchor Bay announced this week at the San Diego Comic Con that DEAD SPACE: DOWNFALL will arrive on Blu-ray and DVD October 28th. The release is a feature-length animated film that arrives a week after the game arrives in stores from EA. Jay and 'Silent But Deadly' Strike Back

Best known as Jay from the popular Kevin Smith film, Jason Mewes' career seems to have taken a turn towards the dark side as he's set to topline another horror film. Entitled Silent But Deadly, the slasher pic is set to lens this August in Ontario, Canada. Mewes recently starred in David Arquette's THE TRIPPER and also played a role in Dimension Films' FEAST. He got his start back in the 1994 in Kevin Smith's CLERKS.

MTV Does the Time Warp to 'Rocky' Remake

After a long delay, it looks like MTV will be remaking the classic 75 cult pic THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW, which will feature new music with the original screenplay by Jim Sharman and Richard O'Brien sticking intact. There was no announcement on cast or a director at the moment, but expect some movement soon (in the form of the Time Warp, I assume). Timetable for the start of production hasn't been established yet but the partners aim to move forward quickly once the final elements are in place. "I'd like to see it shown a year from this coming Halloween, but that's up to MTV," Adler said. The original "Rocky Horror," starring Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon, Barry Bostwick and Meatloaf, has grossed $140 million in domestic box office over the years, primarily from the wallets of youthful audience members who have shown up for midnight screenings over the past three decades.

SDCC '08: 'Feast 2: Sloppy Seconds' Art and Monster Prop!

At the Dimension Extreme/Genius Products booth we stumbled across the first art and an awesome prop for John Gulager's Feast 2: Sloppy Seconds, which arrives on DVD October 7th. It is the morning after, and we pick up with the survivors of "Feast's terrifying night before. There are more monsters and they are even angrier/hungrier. The monsters have made it into the small neighboring town in the middle of nowhere and the surviving locals have to band together to figure out how to survive. Like that is even a real possibility. Will Honey Pie pay for her desertion? Will Tuffy make it to Heroine's kid in time? Is that Harley Mom's twin sister? So many questions, it will take another sequel to answer them all. It was announced in March that Showtime Networks Inc. has announced that it has awarded a licensing contract for their critically acclaimed original drama, DEXTER, to manufacturer Bif Bang Pow! The show is already gearing up for its third season as it's also hit prime time in repeats. This afternoon Anchor Bay Entertainment provided us with a look at the official poster for Rob Hall's Laid to Rest, which is a terrifying story of a young girl who wakes up in a casket with a traumatic head injury and no memory of her identity. She quickly realizes she was abducted by a Deranged Serial Murderer and in an isolated rural town she must survive the night and outsmart the technologically inclined killer who is hellbent on finishing what he started. TIFF '08: Full Trailer For 'Acolytes'

Announced this morning as part of this year's "Midnight Madness" - Toronto International Film Festival horror program - is Acolytes, which we found the teaser for early last week. Today the full traler was discovered by Twitch and can be viewed inside. When they discover the body of a murdered Canadian backpacker buried in the woods, three high school students trace the crime back to a suspected killer. Taking full advantage of their situation, they attempt to blackmail their suspect into killing again. Their target? A brutal bully recently released from prison who has victimized them all their lives. But as their scheme lures them into a violent and sadistic world, the vulnerable teens soon discover that rather than destroying their childhood nightmare, they have created one far deadlier.

The first look comes in the form of a prototype figure for the Plantinum Dunes remake, coming in 2009 from Mezco Toys. The film directed by Marcus Nispel is the retelling of the original Friday the 13th about teenaged summer camp counselors that are systematically slaughtered by a mysterious killer. SDCC '08: No 'Friday the 13th' Trailer

Up until now it was unclear exactly what New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. Pictures would be showing from Friday the 13th at this week's San Diego Comic Con. We received official confirmation that what will be shown Sunday is a two-minute clip that includes one scene and a montage of footage from the remake, which will bring Jason Voorhees back to the big screen on February 13, 2009. SDCC '08: IDW Publishing Signings and Panel

A bunch of horror happenings will get underway at this weeks San Diego Comic Con at the IDW Publishing booth as Comic-Con Guest of Honor Joe Hill (son of Stephen King) will be signing copies of his popular LOCKE & KEY, which is this month's top comic in Wizard Entertainment Magazine. Book artists Gabriel Rodriguez will also be signing. Ashley Wood (World War Robot) and Ben Templesmith (30 Days of Night) will also be signing. IDW's panel will be held Saturday, July 26 from 11:00 12:00pm in ROOM 3.

At this week's San Diego Comic Con, Summit Entertainment will screen Trailer Park of Terror for FREE on Thursday night at midnight at the Gaslamp District Theater. Jeff Buhler Reveals Next Project in New Interview

Universal Reveals Full 'Strangers' Specs

Universal Home Video has announced the October 21st DVD release of The Strangers (review), which stars Liv Tyler, and Scott Speedman. DVD Active reports that the disc will include rated (1 Hour 26 Minutes) and unrated (1 Hour 28 Minutes) cuts of the film. Each will be presented in 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen, along with English Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround tracks. The only extra material will be deleted scenes, and an Elements of Terror featurette. A Blu-ray release will also be available for $39.98 with all of the above, plus English DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio and a BD Live: My Scenes Sharing feature.

Screen Gems has acquired Sonny Mallhi's spec thriller The Roommate in an unusual scenario. Mallhi, an exec VP at Vertigo, penned the screenplay under a pseudonym so it would be given fair consideration in the marketplace. It wasn't until after Screen Gems made an offer on "Roommate" that Mallhi revealed that he wrote the spec. Mallhi most recently exec produced "The Strangers" for Vertigo, who will produce the pic that centers on Sara, a college student randomly assigned to a freshman dorm with a stranger named Rebecca. The Windigo Returns in 'Maneater'

Actor-producer Michael Emanuel (The Uninvited) is in preproduction on the thriller Maneater (announced exclusively on B-D last week on our indie section), which tells the story of an FBI profiler-turned-small-town sheriff who begins investigating a series of mysterious murders only to discover that the monster he's profiling might be himself. Emanuel co-wrote the script with John K. Anderson and will make the film his directorial debut. "It's a story that was told to me by an old Native American back in the late '70s," Emanuel said. "It's based on the Western Ojibwa (Chippewa) legend of the Windigo." "Maneater" is the second in a slate of 10 movies that Emanuel's Canal Street Films is producing with independent financing. It begins shooting July 30 around Los Angeles, though the producers are still casting the leads.

Are you ready for a big tease? In the new issue of Entertainment Weekly they released the first ever image from Friday the 13th, which features a very tiny look at Jason Voorhees! You can check it out inside. Arriving in theaters February 13, 2009, the pic directed by Marcus Nispel is the retelling of the original Friday the 13th about teenaged summer camp counselors that are systematically slaughtered by a mysterious killer. Final One Sheet For Universal's Third 'Mummy'

This afternoon Universal Pictures provided Bloody-Disgusting with the final poster for The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, which arrives in theaters August 1st. In the Far East, trouble-seeking father-and-son duo Rick (Brendan Fraser) and Alex O'Connell (Luke Ford) unearth the mummy of the first Emperor of Qin (Jet Li) -- a shape-shifting entity who was cursed by a wizard (Michelle Yeoh) centuries ago.

Release Date and Ratings Round-Up: 'My Bloody Valentine', 'Saw V'

Lionsgate announced today that their 3-D remake of My Bloody Valentine will be arriving in theaters January 16th, 2009, one week earlier than originally slated. In addition, Lionsgate's Saw V has been given an R-rating for "sequences of grisly bloody violence and torture, language and brief nudity"; New Line's Amusement received an "R" for "horror violence, terror and disturbing images"; Universal's The Mummy 3 received a PG-13 for "adventure action and violence" and Dimension Films' Igor a "PG" for "ome thematic elements, scary images, action and mild language". Darren Bousman Blog: 'Fear Itself' Episode Airing Tonight

This afternoon writer-director Darren Lynn Bousman updated his official blog here on Bloody-Disgusting, which features a new still and some talk about his Fear Itself episode, "New Year's Day", which airs tonight on NBC. In the episode, a young woman wakes up in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by horrifying zombies. Watch this spot for a review soon.

Full Synopsis For Wes Craven's '25/8'

Toda Rogue Pictures provided us with the full synopsis for Wes Craven's newest horror venture, 25/8, which stars Max Theirot, Denzel Whitaker, Shareeka Epps and Emily Meade. The first footage from the film is said to be shown at next week's San Diego Comic Con, we'll be there waiting on you hand and foot. I refuse to post this on the front page as not only does the trailer look like crap, but so does the movie. I seriously can't believe Regent Releasing is putting this in theaters August 22... If you head on over to Yahoo! Movies you'll find the trailer for CTHULHU. Directed by Dan Gildark, the film stars Jason Cottle, Scott Patrick Green, Cara Buono, Tori Spelling and Robert Padilla. Adapted from a story by H.P. Lovecraft. A Seattle history professor, drawn back to his estranged family on the Oregon coast to execute his late mother's estate, is reaquainted with his best friend from childhood, with whom he has a long-awaited tryst. Caught in an accelerating series of events, he discovers aspects of his father's New Age cult which take on a dangerous and apocalyptic significance.

Tarantino Produced 'Hell Ride' Gets October DVD Date

Amazon.com posted today an October 28th release for Larry Bishop's Hell Ride (review), which was produced by Quentin Tarantino. Larry Bishop takes on a third role as Pistolero, head honcho of the Victors, a group of badass bikers who are out to avenge the murder of one of their members at the hands of the 666ers, a rival gang whose actions live up to their hellish moniker. Along with his cohorts, the Gent (deviously portrayed by Michael Madsen) and the mysterious Comanche (Eric Balfour), Pistolero aims to take down the Deuce and Billy Wings, menacing leaders of the 666ers, but a mutiny looms on the horizon when his commitment to profit is questioned by a few of his fellow Victors. An even larger story unravels when previously unknown information about Comanche resurrects ghosts from Pistoleros past.

Catherine Hardwicke's adaptation of the popular book is about a high school girl named Bella falls in love with a vampire. Finally Universal Home Entertainment has lined up three released that I have been dying to get on Blu-ray. The studios has announced that they will bring 'Dawn of the Dead: Unrated Director's Cut' (2004), 'Land of the Dead: Unrated Director's Cut', and 'The Thing' to Blu-ray on September 30th, according to Blu-ray.com. Available separtately, or part of a 'Halloween Starter Pack' box set, the titles will each come on a BD-25 with 1080p widescreen video and 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio soundtracks. Read on for specs...

The Stars of 'X-Files' Shine in New Poster

I still think it's odd that 20th Century Fox hasn't released a new poster here in the States for The X-Files: I Want to Believe , which leads me to believe that the movie is going to fall way short of expectations. It's nice, though, to see a new international poster that puts both stars - David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson - in the forefront, instead of a giant "X".
