<p>Electronic cigarettes have a language all their own. We want to make enjoying blu eCigs® electronic cigarettes as easy as possible for adult smokers.</p>
<p>Here’s a handy primer to help you get to know blu™. You’ll be vaping like a pro in no time!</p>
<ol>
<li><strong>Electronic Cigarette / E-cig</strong></li>
<p>Electronic cigarettes offer a new way to enjoy nicotine. E-cigs are made of metal, and blu eCigs have a tip that glows a signature blue, as opposed to the red or orange ember of a traditional, paper-based cigarette. There are no matches or lighters needed. E-cigs contain a flavored nicotine liquid that is heated by a battery. This produces a water vapor, which is then inhaled.</p>
<li><Strong>Vaping</strong></li>
<p>Vaping is similar to smoking. With a regular cigarette, you inhale the smoke; therefore, it’s called smoking. E-cigs don’t produce any smoke; they produce a water vapor that is inhaled. So you “vape” an e-cig just like you smoke a traditional cigarette.</p>
<li><strong>Cartridge / Flavor Cartridge</strong></li>
<p>Reusable blu eCigs feature a battery that can be charged again and again. The only thing to swap out is the flavor cartridge. These cartridges contain smoke juice (see below). Once the cartridge is empty, it can be disposed of (and recycled at many locations). blu cartridges last between 250 – 320 puffs, depending on the model.</p>
<li><strong>Cartomize</strong>r</li>
<p>‘Cartomizer’ is the term for a cartridge that contains the flavored nicotine as well as the atomizer in the same unit. The atomizer helps turn the smoke juice into inhalable vapor. With blu cartomizers, you get a new atomizer every time you install a new blu cartridge. You don’t have to worry about atomizer maintenance.</p>
<li><strong>Smoke Juice</strong></li>
<p>blu eCigs use e-liquid, or smoke juice. This liquid is inside an e-cig, and is comprised of water, natural flavors, and nicotine. When this liquid is heated up by the battery (activated by inhaling) it is vaporized. This vapor is then inhaled and enjoyed. Various nicotine strengths are available—including nicotine free.</p>
<p>The smoke juice found in blu eCigs electronic cigarettes is custom-made for blu by Johnson Creek in Wisconsin. Johnson Creek provides seven awesome flavors that are exclusive to blu:</p>
<p>Vivid Vanilla, Classic Tobacco, Java Jolt, Magnificent Menthol, Cherry Crush, Peach Schnapps, and Pina Colada.</p>
<li><strong>Disposables</strong></li>
<p>Disposable blu eCigs are a portable all-in-one unit. The battery, atomizer, and smoke juice are all inside. Disposable blu eCigs provide about 400 puffs. Once it’s spent, it can be discarded (and often recycled.)</p>
<li><strong>Rechargeable E-Cigs</strong></li>
<p>Rechargeable e-cigs contain a rechargeable battery. You charge the battery by placing it in the blu pack. The blu pack itself can be charged by plugging it into a wall socket or using a USB charger. The packs can charge multiple batteries at once, so you always have a blu ready to go.</p>
<p>It’s also possible to charge a reusable e-cig using a USB adaptor. Just plug it into an available USB port and you’re ready to roll!</p>

<h2>So why is blu blue?</h2>
<p>blu eCigs made the conscious choice to offer a product that would clearly not be mistaken for a traditional cigarette while being used. This is why our packs have a bright white or dark black casing with the signature blue symbol. It makes the case stand out from regular packs of traditional cigarettes.</p>
<p>We chose to make the LED blue for similar reasons. The glowing blue tip is distinctive and unique, both from traditional cigarettes and even from other bands of e-cigs. The blue tip is intended to invoke curiosity and conversation, rather than to suggest that it is a traditional cigarette.</p>
<p>Our goal is to empower smokers to regain some of their freedom. If someone is using an e-cigarette that looks like a traditional cigarette and glows the same color as the burning tip on a traditional cigarette, it may be mistaken for a traditional cigarette. That smoker might be subject to a potential negative reaction, as if they were smoking a traditional cigarette. This is especially important when someone wants to enjoy a blu eCigs electronic cigarette in locations where traditional smoking isn’t permitted, but vaping is allowed.</p>
<h2>Cool Blue blu</h2>
<p>blu is blue to stand out from the crowd, both from traditional cigarettes and other e-cigs. It’s also intended to appeal to a wide audience. More than half of the people in the world <a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2012/10/23/science/with-new-findings-scientists-are-captivated-by-the-color-blue.html?pagewanted=all&amp;_r=0">name blue as their favorite color</a>; so many people love blue. And we’re confident that adult smokers will love blu, too.</p>

<p>A measure introduced in the Delaware state legislature, HB138, would impose a 30% wholesale tax on e-cigs and other smoke-free products.</p>
<p><b>Not only that, you could go to jail for possession of untaxed e-cigs if HB 138 became law.</b></p>
<p>HB 138 is scheduled for a hearing before the House Revenue &amp; Finance Committee on Wednesday, June 5th at 3:30 pm.</p>

<p>But can you vape on a plane?</p>
<h2>In-Flight Vaping</h2>
<p>There is some murkiness regarding this topic. The Department of Transportation (DOT) hasn’t officially banned passengers from using e-cigs while in flight, but it appears they feel that e-cigs shouldn&#8217;t be used in the cabin due to cabin air quality regulations.</p>
<p>The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has not made an official ruling either. The FAA authorizes each individual carrier to determine whether to allow in-flight vaping.</p>
<p>Business Insider <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/you-cant-smoke-e-cigarettes-in-planes-2013-2">reports</a> that at this time, no major U.S. airline allows the use of e-cigarettes onboard.</p>
<p> Airlines that prohibit in-flight use of e-cigs include:</p>
<ul>
<li>American Airlines</li>
<li>Delta</li>
<li>JetBlue</li>
<li>Southwest Airlines</li>
<li>United</li>
</ul>
<p>Other airliners may permit in-air use of e-cigs. Because each company may choose its own policy, it’s worth asking your airline what its policy is.</p>
<p>Never use an electronic cigarette without checking with the flight crew as to whether it’s allowed. Why invite any confusion? Ask the flight attendants for permission.</p>
<p>If the flight you’re on allows for the use of e-cigs, it’s a great idea to talk to your fellow passengers before you start enjoying blu™. That way, they’ll know what it is and how it works. You won’t alarm them — and you’re being polite. Everyone wins!</p>
<h2>E-Cig Courtesy</h2>
<p>In fact, talking to people around you when you use blu eCigs is a great idea—especially when you’re in areas where e-cig use is permitted but traditional cigarette smoking is prohibited. Some people may not know the difference between traditional cigarettes and e-cigarettes. Some may also not understand how an e-cig works and think that you’re smoking a traditional cigarette. Save yourself some hassle, and be upfront about what is going on!</p>

<h2>How can I get the most out of my cartridge?</h2>
<p>The amount of puffs you will get from each blu eCigs electronic cigarette varies based on user usage. A user that likes to take long, deep drags to cloud up a car will not get the same results as someone that takes small, light drags. We recommend taking slow draws to get the best vapor production.</p>
<p>Cartridges can be switched out before they are done. It’s totally fine to swap cartridges every few puffs if you want to try all of the flavors. Variety is the spice of life! Or share flavors with your friends to discover your favorite. If you have opened your cartridge—the cap and sticker have been taken off — we don’t recommend leaving it that way for an extended period of time. It’s possible that over the course of a few weeks, the juice can evaporate.</p>
<p>For shorter term storage, you can keep your open cartridges in the pack until they are ready to be used. When stashing open cartridges in the pack, store them with the screws down. This ensures that the juice settles near the atomizer in the cartridge, which will give you a better vaping experience.</p>
<h2>How do I know when my cartridge is done?</h2>
<p>When a cartridge is empty, it will produce a burnt taste and no longer give off any vapor. When this happens, it’s time to dispose of the cartridge.  You can even go to your local recycling facility to dispose of it with other like metals to be environmentally friendly.</p>
