Stock up on seasonal fruit at the Margate Green Market

Hey, Blue Isle; you look hungry.  Am I right? Whether you’re looking to eat healthy or just want to incorporate some fresh fruits into your diet, make a visit to the Margate Green Market! Located at the NW corner of State Road 7 and Margate Blvd., the market is in the middle of its 2012 season.  The dates for February are the 12^th and 26^th, with two more dates in March and one in April.

You can take part in the market from 9 am – 2 pm on designated dates, and in addition to the Sunday dates above you can also visit during their newly implemented Wednesday night markets.  You can visit the market this month on the 15^th, with the next open days on March 7^th and 21^st.  This Wednesday market runs from 4:30 pm – 8:30 pm and is located at the SW corner of State Road 7 and Margate Blvd., about 8 miles from Blue Isle.

In addition to fresh fruits and vegetables, you can pick up some flowers, plants and herbs, baked goods, honey, sauces and spices and handmade items.  So how ‘bout it? Will you be at the market this month, Blue Isle?

Butterfly Run Feb. 5.

Coconut Creek is known for it’s beautiful butterflies, and you can make sure these colorful, fluttering are protected by participating in the 10th Annual 5K Butterfly Run on Sunday, February 5. You can lace up your tennis shoes and fly around the Sabal Pines Park path for a great cause.

You can register your whole family for this event and all ages are invited to run and win prizes! Register before February 2 for only $25, or on Race Day for $50. Student registration for kids 17  years old and under is only $15.

Partial proceeds from this event will benefit the National Wildlife Federation.

If you want to enjoy a cinematic experience to its fullest, you don’t have to waste gas money to do it. There are plenty of movie theaters nearby the apartments so you can go on a theatrical adventure with popcorn, a king size candy bar, and even jumbo-sized soda without worrying about travel expenses.
