While waiting for the electric ball to drop, you can also watch a few New Year celebration shows like the annual Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest on ABC, which has been on since 1972. Other TVE program celebrations include CBS’ The Late Show with David Letterman, FOX (Guy Lombardo) NBC (New Year’s Eve with Carson Daly and The Tonight’s Show with Jay Leno and Johnny Carson). I’m dedicated to watching Dick Clark because I really liked the show last year.

There seems to be little information on the actual program of the 2010 Times Square Ball on New Years Eve, compared to 2009′s big event. (Perhaps the recession has kicked in). I’m still scourging for more websites that will stream the video live, and will be posting the feed right here in BlueMumble.

It’s interesting to note that other objects (ball-like) are also dropped on New Year’s countdown. The second most celebrated is the Atlanta Peach Drop and the third one is the Buffalo Ball Drop in NY also.

SLICK RICK’S STORY

I have to say that I’m a happy- go-lucky guy, but of course there are times that I have insecurities about my weight and appearance. Here are some of my thoughts on why this bout is so interesting, although my prediction is that its going to be a late round stoppage for Mayweather. First, JMM is a real classy and intelligent fighter. He’s knocked down by Pacquiao three times in the first round of their first meeting, and he was able to bounce back and give Pacquiao a run for his money. That means Marqeuz doesn’t get knocked out very easily. He’s also intelligent enough not to fight Pacquiao power for power, and counterpunch his way thru a comeback. Because of this, I am also predicting that although I think the Marquez vs Maywaether is interesting, it’s going to be a boring fight. Both fighters will probably wait for each other to make a move, being counterpunchers. As we all know though, Money Mayweather has an edge because he is a natural welterweight. Just last night, he weighed 4 pounds heavier than Juan Manuel (146lbs vs 142 lbs). MAyweather will no doubt be coming into the ring with greater power. And it scares some people to think that Floyd is probably even a step faster than JMM. So that accounts for my win prediction.

How to Watch the Mayweather-Marquez Fight
There are several ways really.
1) Go to Yahoo Sports! and the HBO website to purchase the High Definition live streaming video. It’s on PPV, and this is the best way to do it online.
2) Pay your local cable for the PPV and watch the fight with friends.
3) Look for the post-fight replay videos on Youtube.
4) Gamble with your viewing experience and head on over to live streaming video websites like Justin.TV, ustream.tv, and use SopCast servers. I’ve tried this before and most of the time it doesn’t work. The fight is on PPV so if you try and watch it for free, you end up giving a lot in the process (like time and patience).
5) Watch the delayed telecast on your local TV Channel.
6) Check out BoxingVid’s Mayweather-Marquez fight updates.

It seems that Mayweather will really take this one home. My concern now is if people would put him back to #1 pound for pound if he beats Marquez, which I think is unfair for Pacquiao. The fight schedule starts at 9PM ET (9 AM here) and the actual main event will probably start at about 11 PM ET.

Brock Lesnar has shown he can muscle up with the MMA boys by beating Hall of Famer Randy Couture, and is a big favorite heading into his fight with Frank Mir. My impression is that Brock is stronger and quicker than Mir, and Frank will have his hands full this Saturday, July 11, 2009. Tikets are probably sold out already at Las Vegas, Nevada, not the first time this happened in a UFC event. The actual PPV fights happen around 11 – 12 PM ET, and this is the time schedule we should expect as viewers. Another interesting bout before the main event is the Welterweight Championship, where Georges St. Pierre defends his belt against worthy challenger Thiago Alves. The welterweight champion is again a big favorite to win this bout.

WAYS to Watch UFC 100
1) Get the PPV. Pay your cable provider and watch with your friends.

2. Watch PPV Online. Go to Yahoo Sports UFC section. They will broadcast the fight live online (in High Definition I think).

3. Scour the web for user generated free live streaming video, like on justin.tv, ustream.tv and the ever popular SopCast. I won’t recommend this because of the quality of the video and legality of the broadcasts.

4. Get the highlight replays on Youtube.

For those who would like to watch the free live streaming video from Centre Court in London, you can go to their offical website at wimbledon.org. The links to the video are on the middle right side of the page. Other options that you can take are 1) going to ustream.tv and 2) justin.tv for user-contributed live Wimbledon Streams.

These matches are also usually offered by your local Sports TV channel. I also never shy away from a Youtube replay which shows only all the highlights of the match. A men’s tennis match usually lasts 3-4 hours (last year’s finals between Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal took 5 + hours).

My prediction is an upset by Roddick, who seems to be in real good shape to beat Federer.
