Even in the Press Release, WB mentioned that Mr. Kutcher prowess was explictly one of the reasons that they hired this talented, and likeable star.

He hasn’t really scored on the Big Screen – but he has done darn well – and Twitter sure hasn’t hurt.

We wish him well.

Have you noticed – what our team has noticed?

Time, seems to be speeding up – as the smartphone platforms that we work on, have just got into hyperspace.

The days become like parsecs, that fly by – and everybody from Moroccan shepherds to trendy Yaletown geeks are face first into the new age, and BOY are things morphing, eh? (* We had to prove we’re Canadian)

That being said: it’s easy to make the mistke of dragging the Company Converse on the pavement, trying to slow the merry-go-round down.

The reason I bring this up?

This is actually a postive comment – I really believe through the use of QR Code, Shazam, interactive video, and other offerings, Blue Orbit can bring any Company, large or small, into the ‘new age’ – and save huge dollars on above line costs.

This is a new, fascinating and EXCITING, and potentially lucrative era for Companies that have their Brand offering tuned to their TRIBE.

Surgical campaigns, instead of carpet bombing a Market – is the new Battle Plan.

You don’t need Seal team Six – you and our crew should talk.

Don’t freak out.

It’s a GREAT time to make your move.

Just saw and posted an interesting story @blueorbitbrand on #Twitter > about the “boom ” in Internet offerings.

There are some really huge stories floating around.

Skype being targetted by Microsoft – and Facebook – and we also see big money being thrown at Startups and some really interesting ideas being chucked around.

There are some words of caution – as some wags point to 2000-1 meltdown of the crazed “Internet mania” – and saying that we have some wobbles ahead.

Agreed.

BUT – there has to be growth as Smartphones take over from the Laptop and the Desktop.

The Tablet is a game breaker, in my opinion, and soon everything will be ‘apped’.

One short end – user note on the Blackberry we have floating around Blue Orbit – *the app store is over priced and under populated.

The folks at RIM must look at APPLE and feel sick.

Android is coming up fast, as well.

Interesting times.

Indeed.

This week, our core team has been looking at the flood of new offerings and we have been brainstorming on ‘what’s next’.

The one stream that we all found ourselves talking about was how potential clients perceive the web.

There may as well be an axiom in some quarters – “You have to be on the Web”.

OK – now what?

You have a business plan that you got from a cousin at Rutgers, two Macs and some offices in one of those trendy districts = and so now what?

That trick comes down to convincing client about R.O.I.

If the potential client is a Luddite (* horrors – some people still eschew cellphones!) – what do you do if you are all web “all the time”?

There’s the rub.

We should talk.

Have a great weekend.

Oh, I forgot, there is no weekend.

I have Twitter to feed.

Don’t get me started!

Cheers from Blue Orbit, on the cloudy shores of Burrard Inlet, and as close as your smartphone or ‘puter

(For the unititiated, Gastown is kinda like The U. District in Seattle, or the Village in NYC – and right on Burrard Inlet).

We love to have guests by for meetings and Helen is one of those special people.

Long story short – the topic of Twitter came up – and the inevitable numbers game.

“It is NOT the number, it is the quality”, says Helen.

I tend to agree – and although we have nearly 8,000 people following us – maybe that is too many!

Learning everyday.

Any comments?

Love to hear your take.

Helen is a class act – and we are pleased she has been kind enought o let us into her circle.

We find that the close proximity maketing, and bonding is wonderful.

We look forward to meeting you.

At least once every trip the Estados Unidos, someone will make a joke about Canada, and “Hockey, eh?”

When we grow up here in this monster of a Country, there are few threads of commond bond for Canadians, and one of the strongest is Hockey.

Two memories of Canadian’s passion for hockey are seared in my brain.

In 1972 _ I was walking to work at a Vancouver Radio Station, the night of the Final game between Russia and Canada.

The City of Vancouver and every Canadian were afarid to breathe.

Hard to explain, but the empty streets, and the sound of the game drifiting out of windows, on a summery like Fall evening, was intoxictating.

It happened again last Night.

Vancouver Canucks taking on the Nashville Predators.

When the Canucks scored, the whole crammed West End went beserk.

I smiled.

Stress relief, sure. Beer consumption, huge, Tribalism, yes.

Good for Vancouver, maybe.

But what it brought home to me, is that we all want to belong.

Same with any business.

Your business has to be inclusive. Welcome people in. Help your staff and treat them like fine Porcelain.

The day of “throw it out there and they will watch it” – is over in TV and now, with my Iphone and steadycam mount > I can do what I like – we are going to have our own Blue Orbit Video CHANNELS. Vimeo, You Tube and also TwitVid – and don’t forget that fabulous right pane of the new Twitter!

Times have changed.

Questions > please > if we can help > Lawrence@Blueorbit com or Chelsea@BlueOrbit.com

Have a great day, and thanks for visiting.

Go Canucks!!

Big meeting here at Basecamp today.

Our Fearless leader asked me to run down what our 7,500 followers are up to on #twitter. (Oops, sorry, I have hash Tag -itis).

Couple of rules > ONE > never ever let people folow your folow > or you wind up with people that are NOT in your channel. (*In case you don’t know, there are a significant number of posters who use language that would make a hockey player blush).

Two > Always make sure you go to settings page and right at the bottom “sign in with secure connection”. Click yes. Trust me. Twitter is a hacker paradise.

Three > every tweet is saved, and so if you want to say something racists, dumb or stupid, you may as well yell it the world’s biggest Media outlet. RESPECT.

Four > Number of followers means nothing, if you don’t have quality.

Five> Don’t ignore the first four rules.

Six > when you start twitter the # tag is your friend. Search for people posting in the same ‘channel” and if they look interesting FOLLOW and RT > make friends.

Seven> Iunfollow.com > a gem. Get rid of louts with a click of the mouse. A lot of people also churn – they will follow for literally twenty minutes and if you don’t get right back to them, they dump you. Don’t take it personally.

Eight > don’t sell > inform and listen.

Good luck.
