BW Podcast No. 1 - 2005-05-27

A review of political news through May 27, 2005 featuring . . .

* Ugly Baby, Part 2
A continuing examination of why Paul Berendt and Chris Vance should never agree with each other.

* Not That it Matters Much
but Blue Washington hit 1 and 2 in the search engines.

* The Party??s Over?
A bill that would make most state elected offices non-partisan is picking up speed in Oregon.

* The Shrinking Tent
The news from Snohomish County suggests that the GOP tent may be getting kinda small.

* Way-Out West
Out is what the bigwigs in Spokane want Jim West to be. The Chamber of Commerce, the Economic Development Council and the City Council all want West to step down. And Pam Roach is NEVER gonna send him a Christmas card.

* Doc and Cathy Freeze at the Embryonic Switch
50 House Republicans joined almost all the Democrats to pass some common-sense stem-cell research legislation. Our ditzy duo were not among them.

* Holy Smokes
A poster of Dubya dressed like Groucho Marx gets nixed at a California High School. First amendment? We don??t need no stinkin?? first amendment.

? Dems Pick Eastern Washington Field Director
Autumn Samples joins the Washington Democrats to help us out on the dryside.
BW Podcast No. 3 - 2005-06-17

News and views of Washington politics for the week ending June 17 . . .

? Say ??Goodnight?? Dino
Gregoire wins, Rossi loses and he should call it a day.

? Say ??Goodnight?? ?? Part Two
Rossi agrees that his case is crap, but not before dissing the Supremes.

? Wenatchee Whining
Yeeouch! Just when you thought it was over, the caterwauling resumes. Dino Rossi, Chris Vance and Paul Berendt all embarrass themselves.

? Give the T-Shirt Back
So how much does Doc Hastings really like Tom DeLay and Jack Abramoff? Enough to get Abramoff a million dollar lobbying gig.

? Another Good Day In Court
The recall of Jim West passes legal muster and now moves to signature gathering.

? Taking Dead Aim
Equal Rights Washington is targeting Senators Luke Esser and Bill Finkbeiner for their votes against the 2005 Anti-Discrimination bill (HB 1515). Since only six of Eastern Washington's 33 legislators voted for it, there are more than a couple of dozen solons over here who need a target painted on their heads too.
