5-a-side football will be happening again this Sunday (7pm at Blackbird Leys Leisure Centre). It was good fun last time and even better exercise in the run-up to the new cricket season. Everyone welcome - and preferably an even number this time!

Calling all cricketers for indoor practice at Blackbird Leys Leisure Centre on Sunday 24th Jan from 7 'til 9. There have been murmurings of in-depth video analysis and basic introduction of players to the concepts of hitting ball with bat.

On the social scene, everyone is welcome for darts on 30th Jan at the Prince of Wales, Iffley. Watch out for Leigh 'The Hustler' McKiernan though.

Rain intervened in Bodley's crucial plate match against Materials. Needing a victory to qualify for the semi-finals, the match was called off at 15:43 due to a prolonged downpour during the day and a dire forecast for the rest of the evening. A tight competition schedule left no space for a re-match, meaning that Materials progressed on dreaded net run rate. Curses to the British weather!

After an unnecessarily thrilling victory against DPAG in the first Jack Cox plate game on Friday, Bodley are left requiring a victory against Materials tomorrow to progress to the semi-finals for the second year running. Just two more victories after that and we can begin prising open the Bodley silverware cabinet, last used in 1441 to display Duke Humphrey's Most Treacherous Wife award.
