It is with great pride and a feeling of honor that Fit Girl Productions’ Kristen Nagrani and Shannon Dey bring IFBB Professional Fitness and Figure along with NPC amateur divisions of fitness, figure, and bikini to beautiful Ft. Lauderdale, Florida on Oct. 10, 2009. This competition sets a precedent as the first in the history of the International Federation of Bodybuilding and National Physique Committee to as Shannon puts it to be, “for the girls, by the girls.”

These ladies are stepping it up and plan to set the standard. Being sanctioned for an IFBB competition requires that promoters demonstrate their ability to follow through and provide a top shelf quality event. Fit Girl Productions is up for the challenge. Shannon is an IFBB Fitness Pro and co-promotes the NPC Southern USA Bodybuilding/Shannon Dey Fitness & Figure Classic in Panama City Beach, Florida. She is also the Chairwoman for Fitness & Figure for the NPC in Florida, co-owner of Southern Muscle Plus, founder of the Bombshell Fitness Team, one of the largest of its type in the country, a former NFL cheerleader, and an owner of health clubs. Kristen Nagrani is a National NPC Figure Competitor as well as an extremely successful business woman and entrepreneur owning several large businesses within the medical field. Kristen has also previously promoted large cheerleading events boasting close to 500 athletes in attendance.

After the passing of IFBB/NPC Promoter John Organ early in 2008 many ladies in the sport of fitness and figure were troubled by the loss of not only a great friend and promoter, but by the loss of the IFBB/NPC Palm Beach Pro/Am. Once again competitors from around the world will have the opportunity to grace the stage in sunny South Florida in what we expect will become an institution for the ladies along with another opportunity provided by a couple of their peers Kristen and Shannon.

IFBB Tampa Pro Championship 2008 Analysis with Marijan Lipsinic

David Henry won under 202 class with combination of thickness and conditioning and when he is on, he is a very dangerous competitor in any class at any event. He brought it to the table in Tampa this Saturday. Welshman, James-Flex Lewis was a pleasant surprise of the evening. Great conditioning, nice lines, and incredible lower body. Rookie pro looked like seasoned pro. When he adds more width to his back and more thickness to his upper body, he'll have to be taken seriously in every show. He is very young and there is a bright future ahead of him. Jaroslav Horvath of Slovakia was third. Great symmetry, nice classic lines. Jaroslav presented himself very well. He just needed more hardness from the back, especially glutes and hamstrings to fight for a top spot. I was pleasantly surprised with Tricky Jackson and Roc Shabazz. It was very close. Both of them could have placed higher. Another competitor in this class, Hungarian Steve Namat (original name Istvan Nemeth) left very good impression in Tampa. Steve Namat and Flex Lewis are both only 24 years old and are doing well on a pro level already. 2008 Europa Super Show Competition Analysis with Marijan Lipsinic

Very competitive show in Dallas, TX. A lot of excellent bodybuilders who were looking to earn qualification for this year's Olympia. Again, it was rematch from last weekend's show in Tampa, between Toney Freeman and Dennis James. Both bodybuilders looked great. Freeman won, presenting his famous X frame with great conditioning and nice structure. Dennis James looked fantastic, again. Hard, full with outrageous muscle size. He especially looked good from the sides where Freeman couldn't match him. Toney Freeman is big but Dennis is just bigger. Toney needs more size in his upper body to be competitive on the Olympia level. Front semi-relax and side chest are still his weaknesses comparing to the top pros. I think Dennis looked better than last week in Tampa and I personally had him first. Third place went to Canadian colossus Fouad Abiad. He deserved it. Super nice guy with incredible body, finally got some recognition, and for the first time, qualified for big Olympia. Canadian Marc Lavoie emerged as a double overall winner at 2008 IFBB North American Championships, winning both Men's Masters and Men's Open divisions this past weekend in Cleveland, OH. Karla Podewils; My Journey

Four years ago I drove to Florida from Wisconsin in a 1993 Topaz with $200 in my pocket. Four years ago, my daily routine included smoking cigarettes, drinking alcohol, and eating McDonalds. I hadn't always been that way. In high school I played soccer, tennis, basketball, and was on the Varsity Cheerleading squad. The contents in my locker were another story. 12 pack of Mountain Dew a day (drank it warm) and CANDY, CANDY, CANDY! My first year in college I played tennis and danced on the Wildcat Dance team. My lunch? Fried cheeseballs and a salad drenched in dressing. I played on these teams for fun. I wanted to be a part of something. I always gave it my best, but I never excelled or grew as an athlete. At least I wasn't sitting on the sidelines! Competing in figure, I never sit on the sidelines. I am both the ally and the opponent, offense and defense. I create and present my best physique possible. So You Want To Promote A Show?

At least a couple of times during the contest season we are approached by someone that is convinced that they can promote a bodybuilding, fitness and figure event much better than the show that they just attended.
Sometimes this is a lot easier said than done - - it always looks easy from the back row.
There are several steps necessary before even to be considered to promote an NPC sanctioned event in the Central District of Florida, or in any NPC district. First we need to know your background - - experience in bodybuilding, fitness or figure; promotional experience; knowledge of the sport (continued).

Karla Podewils Wins Figure Overall Debbie Kruck Classic & Becomes Nationally Qualified!

On Saturday August, 16, one of the big story from the Debbie Kruck Classic was the win by Karla Podewils over an excellent lineup of figure competitors. Several weeks ago Karla also won the overall at the Dexter Jackson Classic and now in her second year of competing will move on likely to compete at NPC Nationals in November. David Papoleo took the Men's Overall title win from the Light Heavyweight class. And Robin Haviland went in to the Women's bodybuilding competition lean and well conditioned with an excellent routine that earned her the top spot as the overall champion. Several competitors in the wheelchair division wow'd and motivated the crowd with their conditioning and dedication to the lifestyle.

Debbie Kruck, as tradition would have it had an entire afternoon of activities lined up with activities for children including gymnastics, dance, and martial arts exhibitions. There was a special ceremony prior to the evening competition wherein Howard Wohl, a World War II hero received a purple heart for his bravery during that time so many years ago.

Italian Stallion Stallone Was Likely Jacked Up On Juice If You Believe the Insinuations of an Associated Press Story

On Monday, Feb. 19, 2007 the AP Wire ran a story that stated, "Australian customs officials searched Sylvester Stallone's hotel room and private jet on Monday, three days after seizing banned substances from the muscle-bound actor's entourage as he arrived for a promotional tour, a news report said."

What does "muscle-bound" mean anyhow? Skinny reporters that never played sports are having a field day as every real man's hero Stallone was there to promote his latest,…remake of Rocky Balboa. Airport security didn't detain Stallone or otherwise attempt to prevent him from leaving Sydney airport, but that didn't prevent the AP from noting, "Officials are still examining substances collected from Stallone's entourage to determine whether further action would be taken, the newspaper reported. Stallone and several people traveling with him were detained for several hours at Sydney airport on Friday as they arrived. Australian Customs Service national investigations manager Richard Janeczko said some contraband items were taken, but didn't identify them."

Contraband eh? Did they find some decabol, sustanon, dianabol, and anadrol? Or maybe instead it was merely a finger nail clipper or case of Sullivan's Cove Aussie Whisky? Regardless, the paparazzi are all over this like fashionably thin models on a crack pipe. A footnote in the AP story explains, "In addition to illicit drugs, Australia prohibits the unlicensed importation of a wide range of steroids and performance-enhancing substances for sporting use. Penalties for possession of such substances can range from fines to prison terms."

Lucky for Rocky he got away, which he no doubt upon departure felt the need to exclaim, "Yo Adrian, we did it,"…again!
