If you're someone who gets distracted easily, or someone who procrastinates when you have to do something you don't want to do, or just someone who gets carried away with looking at Reddit when you should be working, then hi! Welcome to the real world where the vast majority of us reside. Especially those of us who have to do our tax returns.

An interesting in the Netherlands has found that there are significant changes in the way people use language as they undergo psychotherapy. 299 participants with personality disorders were assessed, as well as a control group of 108 people with no diagnosed personality disorder. Everyone was asked to write short essays about their lives at three points over two years, during which period

Typographic World Map

I rather like this.

I got quite excited when I found out about this, because from the description it sounds like my telephone doodles could have potential: after all, what could "Scribble Art" mean other than the kind of strange line scratchings I make on the bits of paper around my desk?

Unfortunately, this particular kind of scribbling is a lot more sophisticated. Maybe I'll file my doodlings away for now...

As we all probably know by now, I work in digital advertising. This means that I'm fairly cynical by now when it comes to ads: it takes a really good one to make me sit up and take note, and an even better one to make me watch it all the way to the end and share it on the blog.

Heineken's done it, though. They're pretty good at creating awesome ads in general - last year's party-themed clips

Snake Wishlist

There's a thread on RFUK at the moment where people can vote for their favourite snake of 2011. If you're a fan of our serpentine friends, it's pretty awesome and there are some great specimens. Check it out.

At the moment, I have two corn snakes and a royal python. I did have a rough green snake, who I added to the thread because she was beautiful, but she died a little while ago, so now I

Beautiful Oil Paintings... Oh, Wait. No.

These are pretty amazing. At first glance, they look like beautiful oil paintings, but they're actually made of yarn. Artist Cayce Zavaglia has developed a technique to make wool thread look like oil paint, as the following pictures show:

I'm not normally the kind of person who signs up for "Women Who Do X" kinds of initiatives. I find them twee, annoying and a bit fussy. Having said that, I'm also a woman who likes blogging, and I'm not a member of any "I'm a Female Blogger" networks.
