I have my finals starting on the 1st and have been reduced to becoming the kind of person who mopes around in her pajamas all day, looking like a homeless person and scaring the normal people who deign to enter her room. Not much by way of style and I do think at some point I will have a psychotic break and realize I need to get to it and study a bit. So I'm going on a hiatus till April 16th which is when my exams get over (they want us to become hapless fools by the end of this whole ordeal so they're stretching out the exams to over a month and a half). I can't keep worrying about posting while trying to juggle 8 tons of history and business studies and psychology. Being a natural slacker has its drawbacks I suppose.

But once I'm back, I have SO many cool collaborations and giveaways and all that to post, I'm actually quite excited. I'm always on Twitter and Facebook though so you can always tweet me!

Since I'm technically still on hiatus because of my exams, I decided to use this interim period for a much delayed beauty post. I keep getting emails, facebook messages, tweets and comments asking all sorts of hair & makeup related questions. Unfortunately, I'm the farthest thing from an expert on these matters. In fact I'd say I pretty much suck - at makeup especially. But I guess I have my standard routine nailed so here's a glimpse at a few new products I've been using that I love:

SKIN: If you want to know about any sort of daily skin makeup like foundation, concealer, even bronzers, etc. you'll have to look elsewhere because I use nothing on my skin except maybe sometimes concealer (Sephora) under my eyes to give the illusion of a good night's sleep. I do however have a bunch of trusty products that I like to use every now and then. My skin is normal but veers towards the dryer side in the winter. I recently acquired two great products that are perfect to use when going out.

Revlon ColorStay Aqua, Inglot pressed powder.

Honorary mentions: MAC Strobe Liquid Lotion, Calvin Klein beauty, FCUK Sugarscrub and Sephora radiant loose powder.

EYES: I probably use the most makeup on my eyes and leave the rest of my face bare. On an everyday basis I basically use a Stila smudgestick (in charcoal) to line my eyes but when I go out, I sometimes use matte black shadow (Inglot) or light glitter based ones in darker, richer hues (Chanel). I always wet the brush a little because the eyeshadow literally glides on that way instead of coming on like coarse powder. I have dark lashes (perks of being Indian) and wear contact lenses so I barely ever use mascara but when I do, its Diorshow. Sometimes I use a silvery white eye pencil (Chanel) to line the inner rim of my eyes.

Diorshow mascara, Dior waterproof eyeliner in Bleu Captivant, Maybelline shadow stylist in Urban Grey, MAC Greasepaint stick in french quarter, Sephora eyeliner in gris, Loreal eyeshadow crayon in antique gold, Chanel precision eye definer in khaki platine.

LIPS: Sorry, no path breaking tips here. I have a boring lip balm/moisturizer only routine. I have full lips so I don't feel the need to do much (and also because I'm the laziest person on the planet) but I do love this Maybelline lip balm thing I use in the color Dolly Rose. Its basically a slightly amped up version of my natural lip color and is like a pretty touch-up. I have used red lipstick (by Dior) and I love it but I doubt I could be bothered to do it every time I go out. I love this Chanel lipstick (below) but I basically dab it on with my finger a little and run it over with lip balm and don't really use it directly.

HAIR: My hair is naturally super wavy so I straighten or blow dry it to make it more manageable after I wash my hair. I use Frederic Fekkai glossing conditioner and shampoo and occasionally Sebastian penetrait conditioner. Both my hair iron and dryer are by Babyliss (I got this amazing dryer and a curler from New York this summer but like the massive moron that I am, completely overlooked the difference in the power and now I can't use them) and I'm very happy with them (I use a nozzle with the dryer to streamline heat). I've used every imaginable product under the sun for my hair because it had a tendency to get dry so I guess this is the only area where I may have some advice to offer. I also use an old t shirt to dry my hair instead of a towel (the terrycloth frizzes up your hair). Apart from this, I don't really use anything else on my hair, though at 13-14 I used to use heat protectants, leave-in conditioners, straightening cream and whatnot. I do however love this product by Kerastase called ....

Sebastian penetrait, Kerastase elixir kultime, Redken all-soft, Frederic Fekkai glossing conditioner.

NAILS:

Chanel Peridot & Quartz and Inglot vernis.

FRAGRANCE:

Miss Dior Cherie & CK Beauty.

Hope this answered most questions (and cemented the fact that I am the farthest thing from the authority on this whole situation).

I also wanted to talk about these sunglasses I recently acquired via Lensstreet.com . I'm a wayfarers girl so picking these aviators was a fresh change. Most of the time, aviators just kind of fall off of my face or cause me to look like a disfigured freak but these were the perfect size. The ordering process was smooth and took a matter of minutes. The customer service is impeccable and they'll call you to update you on your order status periodically. You can have it delivered via a number of methods differing on the basis of time, cost, etc. I got mine in 3 days flat and it went seamlessly. After a ridiculous 7 month delay, I've finally gotten down to posting the pictures from my shoot for Brunch magazine's May issue. FILTHY GORGEOUS - FROM CALCUTTA, WITH LOVE

I got the amazing opportunity to chat with Alex and Max Vadukul (yes, THAT Max Vadukul), the writer - photographer/father - son duo who set out to Calcutta this past summer to document the somewhat lost cultural abyss that resides within the city for the travel issue of the T: New York Times Style Magazine.

If you're not acquainted with their work, check out their websites here and here. Below are some selected excerpts from my conversation with them. This is the article, an absolute must read, both because of the stunning imagery and the excellent writing. It digs deeper and asks questions ignored so far, interviewing artists, writers, filmmakers and actors of the cultural bedrock of India.

THIS is my favorite bit, such a fun video documenting the journey. A behind the scenes look. Here are some mini profiles of the interviewed personalities including Suhasini Kejriwal, Raima Sen, Mrinal Sen, Rituparno Ghosh, etc.

Max and Alex Vadukul in Calcutta

Q. What your perception of India was (as a whole, not just Calcutta) prior to your first visit here. And have you, Max, ever been here before without Alex maybe as a child or..?

Alex: I had been to India before. As the piece explains, I travelled there with my family in 2005. I was younger, and thus less mature, so the trip did not have the resonance it would later. I could not connect with the huge amounts of new cultural information I was facing. My perception however was always of a strong vast and beautiful country, with a rich culture and heritage, and a very affable and intelligent people. Because of my father I did have a basic connection with Indian culture, and I was always fond of it.

Max: First time I went to India was with my brother in like 1987. In Jaipur. I was confined to a local area - on assignment - so I could only see so much. We had to pull together like 20 elephants for the shoot, a French company similar to Ikea. I just remember the colors striking me. Such extraordinary colors on everybody everyday. The curiousity of the locals in the area at that time was strange - I could almost get anybody to do anything. They were happy to try something new. It was an experience for my brother too. All in all I'd say I felt very much at home minus the comforts of life in England.

Q. Max, as someone who's been to other parts of India, how would you say Calcutta is unique and stands out?

A: Good question. It's an intellectual powerhouse. It's a bit like Cuba really. In decay. Badly in need of fresh blood. It's also fascinating that it was the imperial capital of GB. It stands out because books, not so much technology, but books, and reading, are still very important there. It also stands out because it's very dirty, yet beautiful. It's very unexpected. So many secrets in that city. Underatted to is the cuisine of Kolkata. Not so spicy. Not so hot. Things are prepared with mustard. Classic Bengali flavors. I loved them.

A: Definitely. The decay is one of the most interesting characteristics of the city. It is harsh but beautiful at the same time, and it extends across the sprawling city. The faded quality of the city almost freezes the city in time. As Max said, Kolkata bear resemblance to Cuba in this way - or rather Cuba bears resemblance to Kolkata. The decay leaves Kolkata mysterious and open to interpretation. Big shiny corporate buildings and skylines leave little to the imagination, and Kolkata may be stronger for not having them in myriad supply.

Q: Do you think the fact that that aspect of cultural richness- the music, art, literature is sort of forgotten and not exactly mainstream adds to the charm?

Alex: I think Kolkatans are very proud of it. Some Kolkatans we encountered wouldn't let you forget it! And I think that's a great thing. As I haven't spent intimate time recently in the rest of the country I wouldn't understand how the city is percieved, but I'm sure that the city's rich culture is perhaps not as appreciated anymore. I recall running into a man from Gujrat in Kolkata. He was in town on a business trip, and seemed utterly shocked. I approached him hoping to get a comment on what he thought of the city. He bluntly said something along the lines of: "I hope I never have to come here again." I was surprised, but I also understood that not everyone has the patience to approach a city from a cultural perspective. Many simply look at something and take it at face value. In my personal opinion however, even if you don't know about the city's culture, Kolkata has lots of offer. I was really charmed by it. To the original question, I think it would be a shame if people began to overlook the city's very rich cultural heritage. But yes, the fact that the whole country is charging forwards while Kolkata is sort of pleasantly ambling along is charming.

Q. Who was the first personality you interviewed?

Alex: Mrinal Sen. It was on our first day (after arrival). We were totally jet-lagged and sleepy. That sleepiness would continue for a few days, but we had to push past it and make the most of our days, exploring the city, following leads, and conducting the interviews. Mrinal was a delight to interview. A real gentleman with lots of wisdom to offer. It was a real honor for us to speak with him. He was very corteous to let us do it.

Max: He is from a bygone era. It's gone. He looked to me like somebody completely cut off from the modern world, living through his memories. After all, that's all you have. He represents the best of India: he was a great host, polite, patient, also strikingly handsome with his silver hair. If anybody thinks about an Indian gentleman, he's who I think about.

Alex: Also, Mrinal was interesting for us because he is very passionate about Kolkata. He says he's never been able to leave the city for more than ten days. He has a very close - and touching - attachment to the city. I respected that. It reminded me of New Yorkers.

Q: Interesting parallel. Okay, Mrinal Sen's work is largely either very politically inclined or artsy, exploring the worse aspects of the new Indian middle class (at the time). Did you get a chance to see any of his work and how did you identify/what did you think?

Max: We saw Bhuvan Shome, his classic. It's an excellent work. I wish we'd seen more, however. One of our subjects, Suhasini Kejriwal gave us a great book about his work. When I have the time I'll make sure to watch more. From the little I saw, however, he fits the movies he makes.

Q. Out of all of your subjects, which would you say struck you the most as inherently unique to Bengali culture?

Alex: That's a hard question. I'd say all of the subjects displayed the warm hospitable traits of Bengali culture. All the subjects had a bond with the city, including Amit Chaudhuri, who is not originally from Kolkata. Personally, however, I'd have to say Mrinal Sen and Tanya Sen struck me as particularly "Bengali." It's interesting too, as they are on completely opposite sides of the age spectrum. Tanya represents the young Kolkatan - a combination of old and new culture - and Mrinal is a proponent of the city's robust cultural history. So meeting them was very informative in that sense, but then again, all the subjects taught me different things about the city and about Bengali culture, so it would be tricky to set any of them apart.

Max: There were all different. It's not a simple matter of black and white. I don't think there's one person I photographed who didn't display the common Bengali traits. I'd have to say Mrinal Sen, however, perhaps because he's lived such a long life. He's accumulated so many experiences and memories. Tanya was very Bengali.

Q. What were your favorite parts of Calcutta? Any little places you especially came to like to visit?

What do you take away from this experience?

Alex: I found the whole city stimulating, but I had particular fondness for College Street. All those bookstores and small publishers. Even if the area isn't as exciting as it once was you can still sense the rich intellectual culture that was once there - especially so at the Coffee House. I loved it there. I can still remember the taste of the coffee. You see lots of regulars, some who have frequented it for years, and they all have stories to tell. I also loved the Someplace Else Pub on Park Street. As you can see in the video that accompanies the article online, I had the lucky pleasure of playing on their stage. Tanya Sen invited me up. I also enjoyed the Ballygunge neighborhood. As I said, it was all exciting for me. One more: the Arsalan restaurant. I had the most incredible biryani at Arsalan. I'd heard about them from countless locals and didn't understand the fuss until I finally tried it.

It was an interesting assignment. I don't think Max and I really knew what to expect. Even though we'd been to India before, Kolkata was something different. It just swallowed us in. We were surrounded by new experiences. We just had to let go and be willing to absorb as much as we could. In regards to reporting, I was thrown into a completely new environment, so it was exciting to gather all this new information. Every interview was an experience. Working with Max created interesting chemistry, but as I'd expected, we got along very well. I don't think I've ever spent (in recent years) that much time in his constant proximity, but we didn't try to kill each other, so I think that's a good sign. We probably came back closer than we were before.

Max: I must say I quite liked Someplace Else - it was a place where I could find a bit of the West meets the East. I liked College street. I liked the Coffee House. I was fascinated by the Queen Victoria Memorial. I really loved the area near the Howrah Bridge, where I photographed the Kusti wrestlers. And I loved the Peter Cat Restaurant - the funny decorations, cartoons on the napkins, and the sizzlers.

Aside from getting to experience the city, it was very interesting working with my son. I was suspicious at first. I'd never seen him work, and as a father you always think of your child in a certain way, but that was all quickly put aside. Our relationship was very professional. It was a great boding experience, too. He's far more adventurous than I am in in trying new experiences, so that pushed me. I look forward to hopefully working with him again, perhaps in India. And of course, I very much fell for the city. I made lots of friends there. The other great thing is I know I'm going to go back there.

Its been 1 year and a day since this when we took these photographs last year on my birthday. I turned 17 yesterday and it was pretty great (I'm not sure why I'm posting pictures from last year's birthday either). Its weird, a thought passed through my head yesterday: 'next year, we should come back here' till I realized that next year, we may all be scattered in different countries. Heck, continents at that. Its an odd feeling, when you realize that in a handful of short, fleeting months you'll be thrust into a whole new life and your old life will sort of dissipate. Where do you belong? Here or there? Everywhere?

This Pietro Alessandro bag is the perfect fold - over. Its buttery Italian leather with great quality hardware and its basically extremely utilitarian.

I love a slouchy blazer that doesn't drown your body and this soft linen Mink Pink blazer with a whimsical floral print does just that.

Steve Madden finally opened its doors in Delhi a month or so back at DLF Promenade (although I was unfortunately not able to make it to the launch because I had my mid terms destroying my life at the time) and so I obviously had to get my hands on these ankle strap platform shoes, the Gretttas. No joke, they are one of THE most ridiculously comfortable heels I have ever owned (the only other close contender are the Jessica Simpson Danys and those are too high to wear casually). Seriously, you feel like you're walking on air in these. The fact they're adorable to look at is an obvious plus point.

In fact, the Steve Madden store in Delhi (much like the Zara store) has a fairly kickass collection. I was especially obsessed with a pair of cerulean suede block heeled pumps and these incredible leopard print ponyhair ankle boots. Swoon.

LACOSTE BLOGGER PREVIEW A/W 12'

This post is awfully late - the event was nearly a month ago but I've been swamped with all sorts of college application/school/writing projects related things. Anyhow, I went to a fun Fall Preview arranged by Lacoste for a couple of Delhi bloggers a while back where I chilled with Santu, Lesly, Imsu, Surabhi & Naina. There was a dinner after but Naina, Mali & I headed to Flavors for some pasta instead.

Lesley was wearing this fantastic Zara leopard print belt and F21 necklace. Naina in the picture above this one of Lesly's was wearing vintage and F21 rings - I'm crazy obsessed with that gigantic cerulean rock.

I wore these strappy Report Signature ponyhair spiked heels which I love because despite the significant heel, they're fairly comfortable and don't relegate you to the corner of the room, where you sit the rest of the night, reduced to tears and clutching your feet in pain.

I wore some sparkly Chanel Ebloui eyeshadow which is much lighter than the pigment looks in the case. But its smooth to put on, so I'm good.

So good.

Lots of warm wool jackets with a structured yet not stuffy silhouette and colorful (it is Lacoste after all), brightly hued leggings, paperbag pants and tote bags. My favorite pieces were this polka dotted red jumper and the pleated black silk skirt.

I wore a sequined dull gold top with a slouchy black linen blazer that involves flat lapels, outer facing pockets and all sorts of other awesome contraptions. Naina wore my leopard Zara blazer, a black bodycon skirt from ASOS and shoes from Durban.

BITS & PIECES

Some random shots from the past few months that I didn't end up using in the posts they were intended for.

1. Taken in Soho in June. This structured Melie Bianco bag was a staple for me throughout the summer months. Also wearing an assortment of rings from all over the place, Myne leather lapel cardigan and a Forever New gray top.

2. A picture of the Absolut Mode bottles display from Wills India Fashion Week.

3. My favorite Zara shoes. Taken outside the Tribeca apartment I stayed in during my month in New York this summer.

4. What? I love Tiramisu.

5. I obsessed and obsessed over getting my hands on these pointy toed cutout Zara heels for 2 months. I stalked the website, the Broadway store, the store in Delhi, had friends going to Zara check in - I was an uncontrollable freak. And when I did manage to grab em', ironically enough they're hideously uncomfortable and completely unwearable and have heretofore being relegated to the back of my shoe closet (i.e. the stack of boxes in the corner of my room).

6. Currently reading "The End of Fashion: How Marketing Changed the Clothing Business Forever" by Teri Agins. Explores all the facets of the branding and marketing machines that coyly operate behind the scenes of the successful megrabrands today and how this stands in stark contrast to the couture houses in France in the past. A must read for anyone who is considering potentially working in the industry.

7. My favorite spot in Central Park.

8. I firmly stand by my belief that Crumbs totally kicks Magnolia's ass.

Gauri and Nainika showcased a retro 40s inspired collection with a lot of pretty millinery.

Nandita Basu was one of my favorite shows last year and though I didn't think her show matched up to that level of amazing, it was an interesting show with a lot of Rajasthani accessories and ultra structured dresses in stiff but luxe materials.

Wearing: Amber Sakai lace back top, Junkie Fit Distill Die Kill City jeans via MARKETHQ, Matiko TYs via Solestruck, necklace by 495 DM, mixed rings by Vero Moda, Chloe loves Charlie and from Rohini.

This is what I wore a few days ago to go visit the offices of this amazing new luxury online retail store (more on that soon) for some meetings and a quick look-see through the stock. This gorgeous Amber Sakai top is the perfect for when you want to look casual and laid back but also have a little fun with what you're wearing. The back is all black lace and its got a great slouchy fit (without hitting that point of overwhelming bagginess that almost never looks put together for when you're trying to look semi presentable in front of people over the age of 22).

I tried to keep the tone of semi-casual intact with these sick Kill City jeans (via my forever beloved MarketHQ obviously, HELLO) and the pictures really don't do their sheer ridiculousness justice(they've got this crazy awesome tie dye effect on the side) and I'm going to post more detailed photos soon. The shoes are obviously via Solestruck and are by Matiko (love these guys). They're comfortable enough to actually walk in for hours and the whole stark monochrome situation is pretty epic as well. Can't complain!

Major fashion weeks worldwide may be wrapping but Wills India Fashion Week right here in good ol' Delhi starts next weekend and I'll be live tweeting and such. Excited to see whats in store this season. Speaking of fashion weeks, how hilarious is the whole Balenciaga bench-breaking scenario? Can you imagine Anna Wintour, Catherine Deneuve, the Traina sisters, Francois Henry Pinault, Alexandra Shulman, Salma Hayek, etc. crashing to the floor? Pretty comic in light of the faux austerity of the whole European fashion week situation.

I'm finally through the most crucial mid terms of my life (but no pressure) and tomorrow is my last day of school before I get a week off which I will spend recouping and generally trying to remember what being a functioning human being is like.

The United Nude PIN

One of the coolest ankle boots I've worn in a while. I got these in New York and have been dying to post these up. The cutouts make it completely weather-versatile and the buckles are just big enough to add some structure without looking tacky. Though of course, the over the most striking feature is the "pin" heel. Thank god and the designers Rem & Galahaad for the slight platform and the sole padding, making them surprisingly easy to walk around in.

United Nude consistently churns out innovative collections, always with an overlying structural element to it, perhaps owing to the designers' architectural background. The shoes are evidently interesting and unique but maintain wearability that wasn't solely created for the runway, editorials and lookbooks.

They're intensely global distribution and obvious international appeal is evident from their 40 worldwide stores, everywhere from Amsterdam & New York to London, Vienna and Guangzhou. They effortlessly surpass cultural trends to create an enigmatic, fun and well-crafted product.

I recommend heading over to UNITED NUDE and checking their new A/W 11' collection out for yourself. There's even a new version of a double flap PIN. I believe they also stock in Solestruck (enter at your own risk though- they're a freaking minefield of swoon inducing shoes). Seriously, and maybe you can help a sister and buy a pair or two for me as well.

Check out this adorable stationery from Walnut Paperie. Simple, chic and perfect for writing thank you notes (if I ever get down to being that person). They also do invitations so you can probably have some cute ones sent out for that upcoming brunch you want to make an impression at.

Look forward to lots of short detail posts in the coming 2 weeks, I'm slowly losing my sanity because of my upcoming mid terms and have no time left to do anything else for a bit anymore. C'est la vie, I suppose.

I was recently featured in the book "Style Yourself: Inspirational advice from the world's hottest bloggers". Its essentially some of the best looks of fashion bloggers from all over the world and I'm so flattered and grateful to be included. The foreword is by Jane Aldridge of Sea of Shoes and it includes features on everyone from Liz of Late Afternoon to Tavi to Susie Bubble to Carolina of Fashion Squad and so on. Inside my internship in the CFDA Incubator

Now that I'm back from New York and still have a few more days to go before I have to venture out in the soul crushing heat to school, I have time to start catching up on some extremely delayed posts. There are going to be some changes coming to Bohemian Like You, paramount of which will be regularity of posting and much more sequential posting. I really want to incorporate more music, interviews and such. This blog was started as a halfway point between lots of different creative aspects but got sidelined to exclusively becoming a style blog but I'm definitely going to be throwing in more from here on out. Stay tuned for changes.

One of my internships this summer was with Bibhu Mohapatra at the CFDA Incubator. Even though it was cut short because I was already doing another internship (at the Starworks Group), it was still an amazing learning experience. Despite the fact that I was interning under the head of In House PR, Cecily, owing to the fact that its such a small, close knit team and at the end of the day, a design house- I got to really get an idea of what goes on behind the scenes in order to create a stellar collection and how it all essentially comes together. Also- access to these gorgeous, intricately designed archive pieces was something else.

While at my other internship, everything is monitored by Fashion GPS and its a lot more intense, at Mohapatra its a lot less digitally oriented. Lookbooks are put in binders, send outs are printed and filed manually because the PR aspect of it is all on a much smaller scale (their agency is Paul Wilmot Communications). And the advantage of that is that you get to experience everything first hand. All this is not to say that Mohapatra isn't completely social media savvy because it absolutely is. Their Twitter and Facebook pages are meticulously managed and updated and their social media presence is remarkable.

Another highlight was the CFDA Awards. Being a member, he obviously went for them but from my point of view, it was interesting to see countless CFDA employees come in and check dresses out. To see what kinds of pieces get selected and also to interact with them firsthand was great. That's the core learning experience from internships, even if my time here was short: the things you learn indirectly. Like the names of most of the CFDA, Steven Kolb's bio and I'm pretty sure I know of 90% of the features editors at most magazines in addition to where those magazines are located just from packaging and preparing send-outs at Starworks. Its important to grasp and absorb everything around you and I'm really glad I did as best I could. When the Resort press previews for WWD and Style.com happened, I got to help out and actually be around the editors coming in on market appointments. How else would I have known how a press preview/market appointment is even organized? Or how lookbooks are shot?

The sheer number of stylists and editors and models and PRs and photographers and other creative personalities that walked in the door of the office is enough to send your head spinning in a bevvy of hysterical excitement. Just to be around these people, being a 16 year old kid was priceless.

The CFDA Incubator is really just a huge loft (HUGE) - a floor of the building which has the studios of 12 upcoming CFDA member talents like Prabal Gurung (I swear to god I shamelessly STALKED that area), Public School, Alex Ritter, Grey Ant, Gemma Redux, House of Waris, Sang A and so on.

Also, Bibhu himself is so incredibly down to earth and nice. The entire design team is so talented, it makes you feel inadequate not being able to draw a freaking apple to save your life. Oh, and for those of you who are oblivious: Bibhu was the design director at J Mendel for some 10 odd years, is Indian by origin and went to FIT.

Wearing: Zara top, Blank NYC jeans, Report Signature shoes, Lena Erziak Anthony bag, rings by Chloe Loves Charlie, vintage, Vero Moda, Market HQ, Maxstudio sunglasses.

This is what I wore to the first day of my internship at Starworks. It was casual but had a few fun accessories like the blue pumps which were very generously sent to me by Report Signature. Their new collection is all perfect neutral platform wedges, deep hued pumps and all sorts of other shoes that we all need in our lives. They now ship internationally and are stocked everywhere from Shopbop to Revolve Clothing so make sure to check them out!

I ate the most heavenly toscana pasta, brunch pizza and a Bellini at Dean's when I met my friend Michelle who's an intern at W. If you guys are ever in Tribeca, you should definitely check it out. Michelle's cool and there was a lot of hysterical laughter (and glares from everyone else eating there) as we swapped intern horror stories. Being from a publishing house, she does the exact opposite of what I do at a PR firm but still as fashion interns, there are some striking similarities. It was fun!

In other very exciting news, I was featured in the book STYLE YOURSELF: Inspired Advice from the World's Top Fashion Bloggers. Its featuring everyone from Jane Aldridge of Sea of Shoes (who also did the foreword) to Chantal of Cocorosa and Aimee of Song of Style. Presenting: BOHEMIAN LIKE YOU

When I first started my blog, 3 years ago (I stopped blogging for short portions in between), I picked the name in a fit of hysteria and excitement over "OMG I SHOULD START A BLOG, YES, BEST IDEA EVER". I didn't really think about. Over time, I've increasingly gotten sort of sick of my old name and I feel I've kind of outgrown it. I wanted to change the name before it was too late. It just didn't feel like me anymore. Bohemian Like You is my favorite song and describes my mood perfectly. Its going to take a lot of work getting the word around on an identity built for more than 2 years but I think its worth it. I'd appreciate any help with it- tweets, etc. Also, I'll probably be opening a new Facebook page- more details on that soon. Hope you guys love the new look! Would love your thoughts in the comments!

Evenniiiiing lovelies!

I just got home and am deadass tired so this post may come across as a wee bit broken and unsegmented. I felt what I'm going to put in here today is pertinent to sharing with you all so there ya go.

The resort shows are ongoing and the CFDAs were earlier tonight- its an exciting week in fashion. Back at my internship no. 1 over at Bibhu Mohapatra, we were prepping for the Resort press preview tomorrow. More on that later. Bibhu was off in the evening to get ready for the awards. I was vicariously excited and pissing my pants.

While going through a ridiculous stack of LOVE magazines, I came across a folded green envelope somebody had stuck in there in an effort to clean the studio before tomorrow's preview. I was pretty jazzed to actually, honest to god, hold a CFDA Awards invite in my hand (even if it was meant for someone else way more important than me- details) so I decided to take some photos to commemorate the moment and to show some of you guys (who may not be Alexander Wang and/or may not have been a photo before) of what a CFDA Awards invite looks like so you can join me in my vicarious excitement and subsequent pissing of pants. Capiche?

A cocktail reception? Why, me? I'D LOVE TO *spaz spaz*.

A word about Gaga's award - accepted in the classically elegant ensemble of turquoise hair, studded underwear and 14 inch platforms. Sarcasm aside, her speech (or the excerpts of it I've read anyway) seemed nice.

Also, Marc Jacobs getting a Lifetime Achievement Award seems a little hastened? I mean, yes his work is being appreciated by the CFDA but they're also simultaneously implying he's no longer cool and is in fact, passe.

Also, the Mohapatra studio is in the CFDA incubator. It's freaking insaaane. Life we're right next to Grey Ant, Prabal Gurung, Waris and other studios of the super fabulous.

I wish I was at Lincoln Center tonight, yes but WWD and Twitter are suitable alternatives for this lowly 16 year old intern.

Hey you guyyyys!

Sorry for the super late update, I've been so ridiculously caught up with my internships and suchlike that I haven't had half a second to breathe. New York is amazing this time of the year because the weather is ridiculously good. Been here a week so I figured I better start posting.

I'm super jazzed by the fact that it only starts to get dark here around 8. I'm just getting home to leave again and a friend's texting, going apeshit "WHERE ARE YOU?!" and I'm wondering why she's going beserk because its only a measly 6 for gods sakes. But its always much later and then I stand dumbly on the street exclaiming to the high heavens "OHHH". Not my most evolved moment.

Whats to follow are a bunch of random, distorted images that I'm just posting as a filler to give you an idea of the crappy, badly took photos I took on my first evening here. I apologize for making you go through these in advance.

I've obnoxiously taken over a family friend's apartment in Tribeca and its open and airy and much nicer than I could ever live in myself in NY. Sad times. The whole apartment is decorated in a completely Indian way down to the wildly bright colors.

Ma stasssh. This series of pointless photos is to demonstrate that of all this crap, all I use is a black eye pencil and maybe once in two weeks, mascara. I'm super high maintenance. I went to Ricky's and bought enough Frederic Fekkai and Sebastian hair stuff to last me a lifetime.

Annnd KITTIES! I usually hate cats because they're sleepy and boring and the skinny ones just aren't that cute (dog people REPRESENT) but Mali (the Garfield lookalike) and Blanca (self explanatory) are exceptions. They're little tubby fatties and Mali is the cutest thing alive.

Wearing: Oh My Frock leopard print structural jacket, Kazo accordian pleated silk skirt, Senso via Solestruck Acacia wedges, Boyy bag.

I've always been obsessed with this Oh My Frock jacket- posted it a few months ago as well. It's so structural. And this Kazo silk skirt is extremely versatile- it goes with nearly everything I own. One of the things that would go with this skirt would be a pair of leggings. Very.co.uk has a great selection of leggings, which you can check out if you check out the site.

I'm leaving for New York this Friday (in all probability) and will be posting from the city next! So excited to be meeting some of you guys and to my internship.

I have a question for you guys. I've been considering changing my blog name for a few weeks now. I can't decide whether it would be a bad move on my part considering all my social media pages, etc. are named Fab Blab and everyone knows this little blog by the name. I named this blog in a fit of nuttiness when I decided I wanted to start my own online style diary and didn't think twice about it. I don't really feel it anymore and need a change. What do you guys think?

Alberto Guardiani MADONNA shoes.

Historically, I haven't had a lot of pumps. Barely any, in fact. Almost instinctually, I tend to gravitate towards various variations of the clunky ankle boot. Why I prefer shoes that make me look less like a girl- I have no clue. Must be my innate need to be forever strange in inexplicable ways. So anyhow, the lovely Francesca over at Alberto Guardiani (yep, the Italian label that was responsible for the creation of those epic lipstick shoes) and I had been in touch about a fun collaboration when she offered to send me these.

And when these came, I pretty much pissed my pants in excitement/euphoria. I mean, look at the whole tweed with ponyhair situation going on + the badass structural heel + when you slip your feet into these, you feel like its freaking butter. But not in a gross way.

Wearing: Raphael Young Biba shoes, Myne bird print dress via NYLA Boutique, Boyy SYD bag.

The folks over at NYLA sent me this insanely adorable bird print dress which is perfect for spring. It makes me feel like I own some semblance of Miu Miu, what with the bird print. The puffy sleeves aren't exactly my style but I'm willing to forgo that detail because of the cool asymmetrical hem. This was originally a bit too long -being 5 feet 4 has it's downsides like how some things even in XS will be too long for me because they were made for people who are NOT some combination of dwarfs/midgets/ other little creatures. So I got it shortened and well, it got a bit too short causing me to have to wear shorts underneath it at all times or risk being gang banged in an alley at any given point.

Raphael Young is fast becoming one of my favorite footwear designers, churning out stomach wrenching covetable pieces every season. I posted about these in blue a few weeks ago but ultimately decided to go with the jarring red ones because they're crazier. The heel height is a bit much and they're not ultra comfortable but they're not hideously uncomfortable either. Sort of a Lita-esque shape but mixed in with Bordello (the buckles). They're pretty fucking fantastic, don't you think so?
