Dear AFF friends,

It’s been a busy year around here and we need to do some sprucing up of the store. Therefore, we’ll be closing our retail for some time in January in order to do some winter cleaning and re-purposing of our retail space. Our catering business, however, will be up and running. You can still reach us by phone (513-871-8646) or email Monday through Friday. Our retail business will be closed from Monday, January 2nd through Tuesday, January 17th. Again, please feel free to contact us with any questions and thank you for your continued patronage!

Meet AFF’s New Executive Chef Mike Tragseiler

From an early age, Chef Mike Tragseiler enjoyed being around food and savored the tasty eats of his hometown, Chicago. His love of food continued to blossom as he grew, especially after college when he missed his mom’s home-cooked daily meals. While he spent his days as a structural engineer after graduating from University of Cincinnati, he was always thinking about food and planning his next meal. Finally, he realized his love of food was more than just a hobby – and decided he wanted to spend his days in the kitchen, instead of a cubicle. He received classical training in culinary and pastry arts from the International Culinary School at the Art Institute of Nashville and worked in a variety of kitchens, from the fine dining spot, Flyte, to a local gourmet taco stand, The Local Taco, and even hosted his own cooking classes while working at the Viking Cooking School in Nashville.

Chef Mike returned to the Cincinnati area in 2011 and has continued cooking in professional kitchens. Along with being the Executive Chef at A Forkable Feast, Mike also spends time teaching cooking classes to home cooks and foodies at the Learning Kitchen in West Chester.

A Forkable Feast Farmers’ Market 2011 Schedule

A Forkable Feast will be at several Farmers’ Markets this summer. We will have homemade pastas, homemade pestos and Gluten Free items along with weekly specials. Check back for updates on what we will be bringing to market or join our Facebook page for more information.

Thursday

The Market at Raymond Walters College UC Blue Ash Thursday, 3pm-7 pm from June through October.

The Madiera Farmers’ Market runs from 3:30-7:30 pm, June through October at the Madeira Silverwood Presbyterian Church.

Saturday

The Montgomery Farmers’ Market will be operating this summer in the parking lot of Montgomery Elementary School (9609 Montgomery Rd) Saturday mornings 9am-12:30 pm from May through October.

Sunday

The Hyde Park Farmers’ Market is held every sunday from the beginning of June through October from 9:30am-1:30pm on Hyde Park Square.
