Bollywood prays for cricketer Yuvraj Singh and wishes him speedy recovery from cancer.

Bollywood has expressed hope that well-known cricket player Yuvraj Singh, who is fighting cancer and undergoing treatment in USA, gets well soon.

Wishing Yuvraj a speedy recovery Amitabh Bachchan wrote on his Twitter account, “Shocked to learn that Yuvraj Singh is down with cancer. Yuvraj if you are reading this, know that we all pray for you. Rest assured all shall and will be well. Yuvraj, get up in the morning and say it out loud – “Everyday in every way I am getting better and better !!” You will,”

Apart from Mr Amitabh Bachchan, even his son Abhishek Bachchan while wishing good health to Yuvraj, wrote on his Twitter account, “@yuvsingh09 thank you so much my brother. Get well soon. Big hug.” ”

Even others stars from the Hindi film industry have hoped that Yuvraj gets well soon. Dia Mirza said, “Yuvraj has done so much for Indian cricket. This world cup might not have happened without him. Let’s pray for his recovery. Get well soon Yuvi,”

Director Kunal Kohli said. “I am very upset to hear about Yuvraj! Let’s pray that he recovers. I know he’s a fighter and he’ll win this match as well.”

Actor Siddharth said, “I think it’s unfair to speculate about Yuvraj’s health till he himself speaks about it. Until then, hoping and praying he is up and active soon,”

Actor Ameesha Patel, who was once linked with the cricketer,was shocked to learn his illness. “Praying for my friend Yuvraj. He has to get well. Everyone pls pray for him .. He must fight this awful illness.”

Liquor baron, Vijay Mallya, who’s close to him, wrote, “I am devastated 2 hear that my friend Yuvraj Singh has cancer. I pray 2 Balaji that he recovers n is back in action.” Politico Omar Addullah posted, “Here’s wishing Yuvraj Singh a speedy & complete recovery. On a good day there are few cricketers more exciting than him.” Gujarat CM Narendra Modi too, said, “Sad to hear about ill-health of Yuvraj Singh. He is a fighter and am sure he’ll come out of it very soon and play again for India.”

Hopefully these wishes and prayers come true and Yuvraj gets well soon.

Nihar Pandya and Deepika Padukone

After her alleged break-up with Sidhartha Mallya, Bollywood female lead Deepika Padukone is said to have found help from her old friend Nihar Pandya, who is giving all assistance to his former lady love to deal with the situation.

Deepika’s friendship with Nihar is not new, as the two know each-other from the days when before getting her first big break in Bollywood opposite Shahrukh Khan in Farah Khan’s directorial venture Om Shanti Om, Deepika was actively perusing her modeling career. But, while Deepika had parted ways with Nihar, who was also a model, she has been in touch with his family and it was this contact, which has brought the two close to each-other all over again.

Says a source, “Deepika has had another heartbreak. She was open about her affair with Ranbir Kapoor, but after they broke off, she preferred to be guarded about her relationship with Sidhartha. Though both were spotted together, she avoided questions about their relationship. But even that did not work for her.”

The source added that while Deepika felt that after making it big in Bollywood, she did not need to look back and seek the support of old friends like Nihar, but after two big break-ups in her personal life , she has had to change her opinion on this issue.

Deepika Padukone was upset with Sidhartha Mallya for not acknowledging their relationship while Sidhartha was upset with Deepika for signing film with Ranbir Kapoor whom she was dating earlier.

Hopefully, the entire situation will work in favor of the Bollywood actress, making her third time lucky in love and though Nihar is not a famous person like Ranbir or Sidhartha, rather than breaking her heart, Nihar will provide Deepika with true love. A close friend of the couple says, “Nihar has always been around for her. Though she moved ahead professionally and personally, he has always been stuck on her.”
Though one of Deepika Padukone’s friend’s says, “Deepika has always maintained her friendships – be it with Nihaar or anyone else. She always hung out with friends even when she was in a relationship. It’s not correct to read too much into this.”

Though in the past a lot of films dealing with the issue of corruption have been made, it is the timing of the release of Gali Gali Mein Chor Hai, which makes the audiences notice this film. The film with a subject revolving around common man’s fight against corruption is getting released at a time when many ministers and politicians are allegedly caught under the charges of corruption. Ordinary people are being led by likes of Anna Hazare and Baba Ramdev, are fighting corruption.

Gali Gali Mein Chor Hai is a story of corrupt bureaucrats and the corrupt system that is dishonest; takes bribe and betray the society. The film is about a middle-class family from Bhopal, whose life changes after an incident and they have to face a lot of corruption.

Though many films in the past have highlighted the theme of corruption, what sets Gali Gali Mein Chor Hai apart is that since the characters of the film are ordinary people, you as the audience can identify with them. Moreover, despite the fact that the director of the film Rumy Jafry knew pretty well that the film is on a serious issue, the screenplay has been written in such a way that a lot of humor is added to it and that in turn makes the film entertaining. Also, in order to create the interest of people in the film, the director has created incidents and situations similar to those, which have occurred in the country in the recent past. This again increases the interest of the viewer in what he is watching on the screen.

Gali Gali Mein Chor Hai is a story of Bharat [Akshaye Khanna], a common man, who lives in the city of Bhopal along with his father [Satish Kaushik] and wife Nisha [Shriya Saran]. While Bharat is a part time accountant, his wife is a school teacher. Bharat looks forward to the day, when the government administration of the city is free from corruption.

While Bharat plays the role of Hanumaan in the local Ramleela, he desires to play the role of Ram on the stage. But, the main obstacle in the fulfillment of his desire are Sattu Tripathi [Amit Mistry], who plays the role of Ram in the Ramleela and his elder brother Manku Tripathi [Murli Sharma]. Sattu and Manku do not like Bharat because he is not only a better actor than Sattu but also because Bharat is not ready to lend him a room.

The ordinary accountant hits headlines, when he has to bribe government officials to find his stolen fan.

The nexus between politicians and police and other incidents shown in the first hour of Gali Gali Mein Chor Hai, despite being serious issues have been shown by adding a touch of humor to them. Though this looks good but, as the film progresses, it looses its track and becomes slightly boring. The way Akshay chases the goons is highly unreal and this portion of the film takes the story off from the main track. But, the climax not only brings the story back on track but also gets the viewer involved in the film.

The basic problem with Gali Gali Mein Chor Hai is that despite having an excellent story idea, director Rumy Jafry has faltered in the screenplay. If the story idea of the film would have stuck to the issue of corruption, without adding any other aspect to the storyline, it would have made an excellent film. While the dialogues of the film are good, the director knew that there is not much scope of music in the film and has not worked on it.

Akshaye gets into the skin of the character and gives a very natural performance. Apart from Akshaye, Satish Kaushik, Annu Kapoor, Amit Mistry, Vijay Raaz, Rajat Rawail and Shashi Ranjan look good in their respective roles.

Among the remaining star cast, the two female lead Shriya Saran and Mugdha Godse do not get much scope in the film. Again, Murli Sharma and Akhilendra Mishra have not been able to do much in the film.

The film is good in a few parts and in the times when corruption is such a big issue, the film may find a few takers. But with a more effective story and screenplay, Gali Gali Mein Chor Hai could have been a much better film.

Ritesh Deshmukh’s father was the Chief Minister of Maharashtra. So at Genelia and Ritesh Deshmukh wedding, Bollywood and political circles came in to celebrate their wedding. The wedding was attended by Ajay Devgn, Kajol, Abhishek Bachchan and his mother Jaya, Asin, Akshay Kumar, Sajid Khan, Shahid Kapoor, Suniel Shetty, Maria Goretti and Jackky Bhagnani. Industrialist Anil Ambani was also present with wife Tina Munim. The theme colour for the decor is yellow and pink.
Ritesh and Genelia’s wedding was one of the high profile wedding of the Bollywood. Ritesh Deshmukh entered the hotel premises on a ghodi in the afternoon. Ritesh Deshmukh was wearing a white bandhgala sherwani with a traditional headgear. Genelia was wearing a heavily embroidered red saree. Before wedding, Riteish Deshmukh wrote on Twitter, “Saw the Last sunset as a Bachelor.”

The guest list of Ritesh Deshmukh and Genelia included Shah Rukh Khan too. He was seen talking with tennis star Leander Paes and his wife Rhea Pillai. Other guests were Karan with Hiroo Johar, Asin, Sanjay with Maheep Kapoor. Riteish dfeshmukh also tweeted a picture of Genelia and him after the wedding.

After truce between the Bollywood star and the director, Shahrukh is trying to downplay the entire issue of the brawl with Shirish and has refused to reveal his side of the story, saying that he does not want two sides of the story to go public.

Speaking about the incident that happened at the party organized Sanjay Dutt, where he allegedly abused and slapped Shirish, Shahrukh said, “My children think of her as Farah aunty and it has been difficult for them to understand what this entire issue was. I do not want to give two versions of the incident because this is an entirely personal issue. My children will get confused if they hear one version from me inside the house and another version in public. That is why I don’t comment on my personal life.”

Giving his first reaction to the incident, all Shahrukh said, “I feel highly embarrassing to talk about the incident in front of my children.”

Shahrukh’s refusal to say anything about Farah and her husband is an indication that the efforts made by Farah’s brother Sajid Khan and Shahrukh’s wife Gauri have yielded results. Softening his stand on the issue, Shahrukh said, “Farah is a very old friend of mine. A lot about two of us has been written for the past some time. It has been very difficult for me to sit with that. It is nice to have friends back home. I am happy about it.”

With Shahrukh not speaking on the issue, the complete truth about the brawl between Shahrukh and Shirish may never come out in open.

And the first step towards the grand wedding may take off with an engagement, which is going to take place on 10th February. They have deliberately avoided having their engagement on Valentine’s Day; instead they have planned the event around the day. Though Saif is extremely busy with post production work of Agent Vinod and Kareena travelling for the film promotion of Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, they are quite excited about their engagement.”

Some big decisions of Kareena Kapoor’s engagement like the venue are still to be finalized, but the families of both the would-be bride and the would-be groom are busy making various arrangements for this important day. Apart from the two families, both Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan are personally calling-up their friends to invite them to the engagement party.

Abhishek Bachchan was to receive an award from Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Bollywood star Abhishek Bachchan may not be getting many awards for the films he is doing, but he is certainly going to be rewarded for rendering his social responsibility towards the society and creating awareness as a star. Abhishek Bachchan is going to be honoured the Hollywood star Arnold Schwarzenegger for creating awareness about making this planet green.

Schwarzenegger, who is in Delhi to attend the 12th Delhi Sustainable Development Summit presided over by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, is also going to attend an event being organized at Taj Palace, where he will present the Bollywood actor with Green Globe for Outstanding Efforts by a Celebrity award at Green Globe Foundation Awards Ceremony.

This award has been constituted to honour the efforts of organisations and individuals fighting climate change through their work in environment preservation and regeneration.

Despite not getting his dues in the industry because of the performance of his films at the box office, it is good to see that Abhishek Bachchan is not trying to mix his professional life and its failures with other work like the social responsibility to work for saving the environment. He is also getting rewarded for the same.

Ritesh Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza Sangeet Ceremony was attended by Bollywood. It was a grand affair. Media was not allowed at at Taj Land’s End in Bandra. Shahrukh Khan was not physically present at Ritesh Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza’s sangeet ceremoney but he gave his voice over.

An insider told a leading English daily, “Riteish Deshmukh’s good friend Jackky Bhagnani and younger brother Dheeraj Deshmukh took on the stage to perform on songs and a skit. Interestingly Shah Rukh Khan had done the entire voiceover for the performance. So, though he was not physically present at the event, he ensured that nobody missed him either”. He continued further, “The highlight of the evening was Aftab Shivdasani and Ashish Chaudhary getting a life-size cardboard cutout of Riteish Deshmukh and performing on the song ‘Ek Kunwana Phir Gaya Maara’ from their song Masti”.

Riteish Deshmukh looked handsome in a blue sherwani, Genelia D’Souza looked a stunning bride. She was wearing a white heavily embellished lehenga. Genelia D’Souza happily posed for the photographers with Ritesh deshmukh. Genelia D’Souza also flashed her huge engagement ring. Ritesh Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza’s sangeet ceremony was attended by who’s who of Bollywood.

Actor Sanjay Dutt attended Ritesh and Genelia’s sangeet ceremony with wife Manyata, while Shah Rukh Khan entered alone in the wee hours of morning. Gauri Khan made an entry accompanied by Karan Johar and Abhishek Bachchan.

Also present on the occasion were Arbaaz Khan with wife Malaika Arora. Amrita, Shahid Kapur, Jackky Bhagnani, Asin and Dia Mirza also attended Genelia and Ritesh Sangeet ceremony.

Hrithik Roshan’s wife Sussanne, Arjun Rampal and wife Mehr, Sridevi and husband Boney Kapoor also attended the ceremony.

Sajid Khan also told the news channel that matter between Shahrukh Khan and Shirish Kunder was not that big. It was made big by media reports. He also confirmed that Farah Khan and Shirish Kunder visited Shahrukh Khan’s house and met him and wife Gauri Khan to resolve the whole issue.

Earlier it was being said by an onlooker that Shahrukh Khan threatened Shirish Kunder and said, “I’ll destroy you, and throw you out of the industry. Aur tere friend ko ja ke bol mein uski maar doonga.”

Its good that Shahrukh Khan and Shirish Kunder patched up because they may come face-to-face again this evening at Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza’s sangeet ceremony. Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza are getting married on February 3rd. Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza are good friends of Shahrukh Khan and Shirish Kunder both.

Farah Khan also told a TV channel, “We were at Mannat for (almost) three hours… and we laughed and cried. And I am grateful that my brother Sajid Khan intervened along with Sajid Nadiadwala and ended this (fight).”

Shahrukh Khan and Gauri Khan are supposed to attend the Sangeet of Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza and so will the Farah Khan and Shirish Kunder. They might make their entries at different times or stay apart. Before such speculations can do the round the news of their patch up arrived via Sajid Khan.
Sajid Khan said, “When I asked Gauri (Shah Rukh Khan’s wife) if I could bring Farah and Shirish to their home to sort things out, Gauri replies it’s Farah’s own house and she doesn’t need permission. That’s how close we are. Yes, a fight happened but it’s all over now. They have hugged and patched up.”
