Karisma Kapoor's Dangerous Ishq goes to the Cannes

This is something really exciting for Karsima Kapoor and Vikram Bhatt. The movie is turning out to be bigger than they must have expected. It has recently been revealed that Karisma Kapoor will be walking the Red Carpet of Cannes Film Festival. Not only this the more exciting news is that Dangerous Ishq will be showcased in the festival along with giving a strict competition to other movies across the world. This coveted film festival is to be held during 16th to 27th May this year.

A source from the industry says, “The film has shaped up brilliantly and now the makers are confident enough to take the film to an international platform. Everyone around Karisma feels that ‘Dangerous Ishq’ deserves to be not just screened at Cannes but also compete with other international films. Plans are already been put into place for the film’s showcase there.”

Well, this is not the first film to reach Cannes. Even earlier there had been entries from our Bollywood. But this one is special for Vikram and Lolo. On one hand where Aishwarya and Sonam Kapoor are regular ones to the Cannes, Kareena missed it last year due to her busy shoot schedules. Nevertheless, Karisma will make up this year by attending the festival with her movie.

The same source adds, “Though it was earlier being contemplated that ‘Dangerous Ishq’ would be premiered at Cannes, just like Kareena’s ‘Omkara’ had in 2006, the plans were dropped since the film’s release in India would then have been extremely close to the IPL finals. The makers didn’t want to take any risk and hence decided to bring it on 11th May itself. However it has made it to the competition and would now be showcased in Cannes after its worldwide release.”
We tried to confirm the news with Vikram Bhatt also and much to our happiness, he confirms the same.

The stars of the film, Akshaye Khanna, Shriya Saran, Mugdha Godse and Annu Kapoor, were also present at the screening. This screening was held on Tuesday night. The corruption based movie is slated for 3rd February release.

A specially crafted LED wall screen was arranged for Anna in an open auditorium. Anna greeted and welcomed the film members to his village. After watching the film he was all happy to see it. He appreciated the efforts of the cast and crew.

Anna said, “It supports my message and movement. Every youth, every child, all age people in India should watch this film as it motivates the depth of being a common man and it motivates every individual to be a good citizen and have a corruption-free country. This Republic Day, every Indian should be corruption-free from within first, and then work towards fighting corruption.”

Producer Manmohan sees it as an emotional moment when he showcased the film for villagers. Manmohan said, “This was the best premiere I could ever imagine for my film, showcasing it to the right audience. I experienced the audience watching, laughing, smiling, crying along with my film. I was thrilled to see Anna`s reactions watching my film. Two thousand villagers stood up and clapped and that was my reward.”

For Rumi Jafry, it was a proud moment when Anna watched his film. Rumy said, “I was sitting next to Anna and every gesture and expression was making me feel happy…when he was laughing, clapping…those were my best memories, and experiencing it live sitting along with him, it was a proud feeling.”

Rowdy Rathore

To make the film unique and interesting what all goes in? One major trait is the shooting at scenic locales. Sanjay Leela Bhansali is one such filmmaker who is fully aware of this fact. The producer had thus decided to shoot picturesque locations of Hampi in his forthcoming flick Rowdy Rathore.

Starring Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead roles, Rowdy Rathore is making waves around much ahead of its release. Now with shifting the shoot schedule to Hampi will certainly be an icing on the cake. The shooting, which is to commence from today onwards, will center on the historical town of Hampi and Badami.

By shooting at these places, these towns may witness a tourism boost. It is like a give and take system where shooting permission has been granted to promote tourism at these scenic places.

A source from the unit of the film says, “The officials of Hampi and Badami gave special permission to Sanjay to shoot Rowdy Rathore. They need tourism, and that will help its financial condition. It’s a neat barter system.”
Surprisingly enough it was Akki’s idea that led to this deal. We must say Akshay that is a smart move.

A crew member informs, “Akshay was the one who thought up this marketing move. Everybody else was also very supportive of it. It’s a win-win situation and should work out for all of us.”

This famous south Indian actress Shriya Saran is making her Bollywood debut with Gali Gali Mein Chor Hai opposite Akshaye Khanna where she plays his wife.

Shriya Saran feels that the USP of the movie is that is deals with the burning issue of corruption prevalent in India. The movie is though provoking and has some food for thought for sure. Shriya says that the film deals and discusses the significant issue of corruption that has made life of Indians a hell.

People may come out smiling and laughing form the theaters but they will have some thoughts lingering at the back of their minds. Shriya was quoted saying, “The serious topic of corruption is dealt in a humorous way. While having fun audience will get a thought provoking message.

It is the story of a middle class family living in Bhopal and how a small incident changes their lives. How their lives get entangled in a series of incidents and without realizing they become victims of corruption.”

Akshaye Khanna is the victim of vicious game of politics and corruption in the film. Shriya Saran plays his wife and Mugdha Godse is the call center employee. Shirya shares, “I think it is something we all need to come together and change the system and ensure it is corrupt-free nation”.

Sunny Leone

The sensational adult star Sunny Leone will scorch the theater screen with her hot performance. Sunny Leone grabbed eye balls of Indian audience with her stint in Bigg Boss 5. What else could Sunny have asked for when Mahesh Bhatt approached her in the show and offered her the film.

However, after her eviction from the show, she was in talks with Pooja Bhatt. There were some legal formalities like Visa and all that needed to be sorted out. Then sprouted a money issue between the two, which was resolved later.

Now when everything is settled, Sunny Leone is all set to romance two men on screen for Jism 2. With Jism 2 she will be making her Bollywood debut.

Will her adult business take a backseat once she enters B town!

Pooja Bhatt had noticed Sunny Leone for the first time in an Indian Magazine page way back in 2002. At that time Pooja thought of casting her in ‘Kalyug’ (2005) but things didn’t work out as Sunny Leone had other commitments to fulfil at that time. Seven years later, Pooja again wished to have this international adult star and this time things seemed to fall in their places and finally Sunny Leone is doing Pooja Bhatt’s film Jism 2.

Mahesh Bhatt, when he entered the house of Bigg Boss 5, was confident enough that Sunny Leone would be convinced to do the lead role in Jism 2. However, after his meeting with Ms. Leone he told to a tabloid, “She has principally agreed to the idea of working with Pooja in Jism 2. Everything will be finalised once she is out of the Bigg Boss house. Sunny, her agent and Pooja will take the decision further.”

It was later seen also that post her eviction from Bigg Boss house Sunny Leone did meet Pooja in a hotel in Mumbai. Sunny Leone was happy about the character she was going to play. But there were few issues that were to be solved including the legal formalities, work visa permit and the signing amount. Actually Sunny has asked 25% more amount than Pooja offered her.

Sunny Leone left India when she was having discussions with Bhatts. Now, when everything is settled it has been finalized that Sunny would be doing the film.

When Pooja Bhatt as asked about the monetary issues between her and Sunny she refuted and said, “It is crazy to see how excited people are about Sunny Leone being a part of the film. But let me tell you, Sunny has been finalised. Yes, there were a lot of legal issues that were getting sorted out, but Sunny was in love with the script the day she heard the story.”

Now, when Sunny is finalized for the female lead the hunt for the male leads is still on.

Sunny Leone is Officially Confirmed for Jism 2

Sunny Leone made waves with her entry into the house of Bigg Boss. And more so when Mahesh Bhatt himself approached her for the role in the film.

With many speculations and rumors making a buzz around, it is finally official that Sunny is the female lead for Jism 2. Written by Mahesh Bhatt, Jism 2 is directed by Pooja Bhatt.

Pooja Bhatt recently made statement where she was quoted saying, “Every film, every song, every actor, every role has a destiny of its own. In Sunny I have found all those qualities that will make ‘Jism 2′ and especially the role she essays, not only breathe, but also surge with life! Some say she is perfect for ‘Jism 2′, others say ‘Jism 2′ is perfect for her. All I know is that she is my character, a dazzling beauty who is audacious, Intelligent, vulnerable, alive!”

So when it is official that Sunny Leone is doing Jism 2 let us ask Sunny also what is her say and she states, “I have signed the contract for Jism 2. It will be my debut in this country as an actor and I am really excited. It’s an honor to be asked by Mahesh Bhatt and Pooja Bhatt to be in this movie.”

Sunny Leone also informs us that she is impressed by the story of Jism 2 and has thus decided to do the film. She adds, “I think as an actor you should know what you getting into, you should know if nothing else, at least the basics of the story. And after I heard all the details and the story line is when I really agreed to the character they wanted me to play.”

This movie produced by Dino Morea and Pooja Bhatt, is expectedly going on floors very shortly for August 2012 release.

Chitrangada Singh to be Mehrunissa

Chitrangada Singh is surely the favorite of Sudhir Mishra when it comes to filmmaking, but for the first time, it seems he won’t be able to cast Ms. Singh in the lead role of Mehrunissa. Now when rumors are rife that Singh might not be the part of the film, the question arises who will be there in the movie in and as ‘Mehrunissa’.

UTV Motion Pictures, the production banner of the movie, is not keen on taking Chitrangada Singh as the protagonist of the film. They are on a hunt for an A-list actress who can do the role. One of the sources earlier even reported that Vidya Balan is considered for the role. And recently the talk of the town is name of Chikni Chameli aka Sheila (okay Katrina Kaif as it is her real name)

The production house plans to approach Katrina Kaif for a narration of script. A close source to the unit clarifies, “UTV and Nikhil Advani are co-producing Mehrunissa. While Nikhil has maintained an unrevealing stance as far as casting goes, UTV are keen on getting Katrina to essay the lead role. Considering thаt thе film іѕ аbουt a girl whο drives a wedge іn thе 50-year ancient friendship between two acquaintances essayed bу Hυgе B аnd Rishi Kapoor, thе manufacture house feels thаt thе youth market саn οnlу bе won over bу аn player lіkе Katrina.”

Interestingly enough neither Amitabh Bachchan nor Rishi Kapoor would be sharing the screen space with the female artist rather it would be some newcomers who would be playing these characters when they were in their prime. They were courting this beautiful and unattainable girl Mehrunissa.

Now it will be interesting to see who essays Mehrunissa on screen for Sudhir!

If Sunny Leone is excited about her Bollywood entry, Esha Gupta is also on cloud nine. Reason! Mahesh Bhatt. Before you get us wrong, let us tell you, Esha Gupta is in the good books of Bhatt sahib and is working with Emraan Hashmi in sequel of Jannat, titled Jannat 2.

Esha Gupta is a model for quite a while a now. But she is extremely happy to be associated with Bhatt and start her B town career with this camp. ‘It is phenomenal to be working with Bhatts since they have a knack of portraying the female protagonists really well in their films. They respect the presence of female leads in their films and also ensure that the girls act really well despite being new to the industry. For me, there couldn’t have been a better start than this,” informs Esha.

Mahesh Bhatt assured her of the role and character she would play in the movie. He even narrated the script to her. In addition to all this, Mahesh also revealed some observations he had about her as a person and as an actress.

An excited Esha Gupta says, ”Bhatt saab actually sat down with me and narrated the entire script to me. I guess that was a moment I’ll cherish all my life. I was just so touched to be with a person of his caliber and stature. It isn’t with every film that you would get a senior personality like him to guide you.”

Karisma Kapoor in Dangerous Ishq

The director Vikram Bhatt is no mood to take rest or party for the New Year. He is too occupied winding up the shoot schedule of Dangerous Ishq that stars Karisma Kapoor in the lead role.

As and when the shooting of the film would culminate, he would be starting the third series in Raaz. Tweeting about his work schedule, Bhatt said, “It’s really a tight schedule. Dangerous Ishq’s last day of shooting is 16th Jan and 21st Jan starts Raaz 3!”

In the comeback film of Karisma Kapoor, she would be sharing screen space with five different men. Karisma would be portraying five differenr roles in various lifetimes.

Dangerous Ishq is written by Amin Haji and shot in 3D format. The movie is slated for a June 2012.
