We'll shortly be releasing a significant update to BoltFile Desktop BETA to allow complete control over how your files are delivered, and desktop access to your Inbox and Sent Items, here are some preview screenshots:

Access to all the options available when using the BoltFile site, additionally you can tell BoltFile Desktop to compress all the files you send into one single ZIP file - saving your BoltFile bandwidth and making it easier for your recipients to download multiple files!

Access your Inbox and Sent Items views directly through BoltFile Desktop - you can initiate downloads of files in your Inbox and Sent Items without ever opening a browser!

We're really pleased to announce the availability of BoltFile Desktop - BoltFile's desktop application that allows you to send files directly from your Windows desktop!

Key Benefits:

Send files directly from the Windows Explorer 'Send To' menu.
Resuming uploads that were interrupted i.e. when your WIFI connection drops out - no more broken uploads!
Uploading of whole folders - automatically creates ZIP files for folders.
Drag and drop file sending - drag files straight from Windows Explorer to BoltFile Desktop.

We'll be posting many more detail on Desktop shortly, here are some screenshots of the new application.

The advanced uploader is great for sending multiple large photos to your recipients - and saves you making a ZIP file first!

When sending your files you will be able to select to use the advanced uploader that allows you to select multiple files!

This allows you to easily send multiple large files in one click - rather than creating ZIP files or selecting each files one by one!

Perfect for sending lots of photos or multiple business documents!

You can still use the standard uploader by clicking use basic uploader.

Just click the 'Top Up' tab and select the type of Top Up you require!

Top-Ups are added to your account immediately after payment.

Bandwidth top-ups are perfect for uses on Lite or Plus accounts who need additional bandwidth for short period of time (i.e. to send some specific files) or power users who require additional bandwidth to use with BoltFile's public direct-download links for distributing files publically!

Distribute large files with direct download, public links

Today we are announcing an exciting new feature for our Enterprise and Business customers.

You are now able to create a public link from any file in your Folders. A public link gives you a static, direct download address that you can distribute out to your customers, use in marketing material or even place on your own website!

Once a public link is created it stay active forever - and the bandwidth used by people downloading the file is counted separately to your normal account bandwidth allowance (unlimited for Enterprise customers).

Here's the feature in action.

Once enabled BoltFile displays the public link - this never changes and can be used in your marketing material and given out to your clients!

... and it's really easy to administer your files with public links....

The amount of public bandwidth included in each account is as follows:

Enterprise - 250GB
Business - 150GB

Remember that these allowances are in addition to your standard account bandwidth allowance (200MB for Business, unlimited for Enterprise) and apply only to files downloaded via public links.

Your current bandwidth usage is shown in your Account page:

We will shortly be providing the option to Top-Up your bandwidth to supplement the allowance already included in your monthly account!

New Feature - Shared Folder Permissions

We've just finalized and released Shared Folder permissions!

Shared Folder permissions allow Enterprise users to define what permission their sub-users have over Shared Folders.

You can control whether users can view the Shared Folder, and whether they can upload new files, delete existing files or download files from the Folder.

It's quick and easy to administer the permissions:

When an operation is not allowed BoltFile notifies the user with a popup window:

This powerful feature allows you to use your BoltFile account as a complete FTP replacement - eliminating the complex setup and management of FTP servers and allowing non-IT personel to setup and manage who in your team has access.

Many of you are now enjoying our Shared Folders feature for sharing files and documents between collegues - and it's getting better!

We will shortly be releasing an update to shared folders that will allow you to set what permissions your sub-users have over the shared folders.

It's great for managing access to files within a team - for example - set your marketing team to be able to upload files to the 'marketing' folder - and the rest of your organisation to only download from it!

New Feature - Contact Groups

We've just launched a really useful new feature to allow you to arrange your Contacts into Groups - this makes it really simple to send files out to multiple recipients - perfect for sending to multiple common recipients like departments, customers and clients!

We've also substantially improved the Contacts page on BoltFile to allow you to select multiple contacts to edit/delete, and to easily put the selected Contacts into groups!

Your groups are listed in the drop down area at the top of the page:

Once you've put contacts into groups they are instantly available in the recipients box on the Send Files page! - you can choose whether to send to all email addresses of contacts in the group, all mobile phones (via an SMS text message) or both! BoltFile even auto-completes the group name as you're typing - a real time saver!

This new features works great with BoltFile's existing ability to import your contacts from common email services such as Google Mail, AOL Mail, Yahoo! Mail and Hotmail!

We hope you enjoy these enhancements!

BoltFile Folders are now live!

Folders are a no-cost upgrade to our Plus, Business and Enterprise subscribers to allow the long-term storage of files sent or uploaded via BoltFile. Files in Folders are never deleted and can easily be shared amoungst all users on your account (Enterprise accounts only) and sent again to new recipients.

Here's the storage allocated per type of account:

Plus - 1GB
Business - 3GB
Enterprise - 10GB

It's really easy to get started with Folders - just click the 'Folders' button to the left of your BoltFile account page:

You can easily re-arrange your folders, grant access to shared folders to your sub-users (Enterprise accounts only) and upload/download files.

You can also save files to your Folders from your Inbox and Sent Items instantly - just click the 'Save' button and choose the folder - never loose a large document again!

BoltFile Folders are now live and available on all Plus, Business and Enterprise accounts - look out for more great features coming to Folders soon - including the ability for Enterprise users to set permissions for your sub-users's access to Shared Folders (enabling the selective sharing of files amoungst all your sub-users).

We're just putting the finishing touches to an exciting new feature on BoltFile. Folders allow you to store files on BoltFile indefinately! When you receive files via your Inbox, or send files to others you will be given the option of saving those files to any of your Folders.

Folders really come into their own when combined with our Enterprise accounts as you can setup permissions against the users you define on your Enterprise account - meaning you can define which users have which rights (upload, download, view) on which folders - giving you all the flexibility of an FTP server without any of the administration overhead!

Unread Items and Inbox Enhancements

It's now even easier to manage items in your Inbox and Sent Items on BoltFile.

All unread items are highlighted in bold and you can select multiple items in your Inbox and Sent Items views - making it really simple to delete multiple items!

When you have many items in your Inbox or Sent Items BoltFile will page the results - meaning your Inbox loads much faster!

This update is now live across all BoltFile accounts!

Download all files as a ZIP

If you are sending multiple files (photos for example) it can sometimes be frustrating to download all the files seperately - BoltFile now allows your recipients to download all the files contained in a send as one ZIP file - making it quicker for your recipients to get your files!

This update is now live and applies to all BoltFile users!

Remove files when forwarding

We've just added a simple enhancement to the Boltfile service to allow you to optionally remove files when using the 'Forward' feature in Sent Items.

'Forward' lets you send files you have previously sent to a new recipient (which saves time on re-uploading the same files!), the new enhancement allows you to optionally remove files from those that are forwarded - you can also upload additional files as well.

Just click the 'Remove' button (red cross) when forwarding your files:

Unlimited Bandwidth on all Enterprise Accounts

As of today all Enterprise accounts have been upgraded to unlimited bandwidth - this means your recipients can download your files as many times as they like without limit!

For our business and corporate customers this represents a perfect solution for sending large files out to large numbers of recipients! - and with our advanced delivery tracking and reporting features you'll know exactly who, when, and from where your files were downloaded!

This upgrade will be automatically applied to all existing customers - and any files your have transferred from Enterprise accounts will have their bandwidth limits removed automatically!

Send SMS Text Message Notifications via BoltFile

You can now send your files to mobile devices via cellular (SMS) text messages - this feature is avaliable on all BoltFile accounts - including our FREE Lite account!

To send files to a mobile recipient - just enter their mobile number (with full international dialing code) into the recipients box:

Click 'send' and your files will be sent - your recipient will then receive a notification via SMS message:

Your recipient can either download the file(s) directly to their mobile device (subject to cellular network support) - or logon to thier BoltFile account and download from their inbox!
