To be honest, I don’t see it. I have been a fan of and read these books since the very beginning, and this is NOT how I pictured Simon at all.

I couldn’t tell you how he was described originally because it’s been quite a while since I’ve read the first book, but I’ve always pictured Simon with more light brown hair. I could be totally off, but that’s just what he looked like for me.

I don’t know, I just pictured him more boyish and cute but a little more goofy-looking, ya know? I suppose sort of like Kristopher Turner (see the picture on the right).

Big Hero 6 is sort of like another version of The Avengers, but with different characters. In Big Hero 6, the Japanese government has created six superheros to protect the country from threats and villains.

Comic books being turned into movies have gotten very popular lately. The live action movies do well, but it’s hard to say how the animated feature will do. I think if Pixar becomes involved it will be a whole other story and has the potential to become big. But as a regular Disney animation, I’m not so sure it would be a huge hit for anyone other than ten year old boys and perhaps fans of the comic book series.

What do you think Disney turning the lesser known comic book series Big Hero 6 into an animated film? Do you think it would do better Pixar-style or standard animation?

The Leftovers is an adult dystopian novel that follows a number of people who are leftover after a mass vanishing of a good number of people in the world. I haven’t read it, but I believe based on some reviews that it actually is about life after The Rapture. So it’s a bit science fiction, but it could also be considered a bit religious, but I don’t know to what degree.

It sounds like a great concept. Whether it takes the religious route or not will probably determine it’s popularity among the masses. I personally wouldn’t mind it taking the religious route. But I am sort of picturing a mixture of The Walking Dead and Lost — both of which I loved. So I think this could be a big hit.

What do you think of The Leftovers book being turned into a TV series by HBO? Do you think they will play on the religious aspects of The Rapture, or do you think it will be more secular?

The Alchemyst is the first book in a six book series about a French alchemyst named Nicholas Flamel. It takes place in the 14th century and follows Flamel’s dangerous and exciting life because he alone holds the secret to an elixir for immortality.

I haven’t read The Alchemyst books yet, although they are on my to-read list. But they sound like an exciting and adventurous ride that will transfer wonderfully to the big screen. Who knows, this could be the next Harry Potter.

If you haven’t read 1984, the book follows a man named Winston Smith who lives in a futuristic dystopian society depicting what 1984 will look like from the perspective of 1949 when the book was written. Winston tries hard to fit into the oppressive and warped society, but feels like he’s missing something, and for that very reason he’s a danger to himself.

I love the book 1984, but the movie created back in the day is rather dull and hard to watch. I’m excited to hear Imagine Entertainment will be remaking it because I think it has such potential as a great movie and with all the other newer dystopian novels being made into movies such as Hunger Games and Divergent, I think now is a great time to move forward with a project like this.

What do you think of making on a new 1984 movie based on the book? What would you like to see in the new 1984 movie that the old one was missing?

Skyjack: The Hunt For D.B. Cooper is a non-fiction book written by Geoffrey Gray about a man named D.B. Cooper who hijacked a Boeing 727 in the 1970′s. He then demanded money and parachutes and was given them. Then he escaped by jumping out over the Pacific Northwest. He was never caught. The book overviews a few perspectives from a few different people who were involved with the case.

I’m not sure about this one. I haven’t ever heard of D.B. Cooper, but non-fiction movies can be hard to pull off if not done right. There needs to be a certain balance of entertainment and staying true to the actual facts. I hope Gluck and CBS Films will be able to pull it off.

What do you think of the non-fiction Skyjack book being made into a movie? Do you like watching non-fiction movies from books?

The Diviners is a mix of historical fiction, fantasy, and mystery that follows a girl named Evie who is exiled from her hometown and shipped off to New York City to live with her Uncle Will. Before long Evie is mixed up in a mystery of rash occult-based murders taking place around her and she must help to solve who and what is behind them.

The Diviners sounds like a really interesting story that is both original and exciting. I will be interested in reading the book for sure, but it also sounds like something that could translate to the big screen very smoothly if done right.

The Stuff Of Legend takes place in 1944 when a young boy from Brooklyn stumbles upon a dark world right within his own bedroom. The Boogeyman abducts him and the boy’s dog and toys rally together to save him.

I haven’t really read any graphic novels but The Stuff Of Legend sounds like a really imaginative and fun tale that should be exciting to see brought to the big screen. It sounds a bit dark so I will be curious to see how Disney softens it up for younger audiences.

What do you think of the possible The Stuff of Legend movie? If you’ve read the graphic novel, do you think Disney is a good choice to make the movie, or do you think they will fluff it up a bit too much?

The Frog and Toad series of books follow a pair of friends who happen to be a frog and a toad. Each book contains several short stories about their adventures and mishaps.

I haven’t read the Frog and Toad books, but when it comes to children’s movies Jim Henson is one of the kings of the genre, so I think if anybody can, Jim Henson can do the classic children’s books justice and make them into something special.

What do you think of the Jim Henson Company turning the Frog and Toad books into an animated film? Do you think the books should be turned into multiple movies or combined into one movie based on the books?

Legend is a dystopian novel that takes place in a post-apocalyptic Los Angeles. It is loosely based on the classic novel Les Miserables and follows the perspectives of two teens in very different places within this post-apocalyptic society, but whose paths cross and become dependent upon each other as the novel progresses.

Young adult novels are being turned into movies more and more these days because the stories are unique and solid and they are tales which can not only appeal to the younger crowds but to adults as well, so they are movies that can attract entire families.
